She pulled open the back door and stepped inside, a wall of warmth enveloping her from the log fire burning in the living room. Quickly she turned around and closed it behind her to avoid too much heat escaping into the world of ice beyond.
As she looked out the back window, she felt familiar strong arms wrap around her waist from behind and the distinct warmth of her husband, nuzzling into the fold of her neck.
Her fingers interlocked with his as he began to kiss her, little pecks up the side of her face and onto her cheek, then he spun her around so fast it made her gasp.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, then pulled away, looking into his eyes and smiling.
‘Morning,’ she said.
‘Morning.’
Cole’s hands slid down her back smoothly and came to a rest on her buttocks, gently caressing them as he kissed her again. She could feel his excitement pressing against her and she grinned.
‘Did you sleep well?’ he said, as he pulled away.
He had a thin layer of soft dark stubble on his face. It grew so fast it seemed to spring up overnight. It made him look like one of those ridiculous aftershave models, posing in the glass backlit displays situated outside shopping centres and bus stops.
She loved it.
‘I did, how about you?’
‘I dreamt about us,’ he said, pulling her closer to him again and pressing his nose against hers. ‘You were very naughty.’
‘Oh I see,’ she said, grinning. ‘What happened?’
‘I was at home, and you’d been out for the evening, at an office party.’
‘Oh? Without you?’
‘Without me,’ he nodded. ‘You’d had a few too many and when you came in, you confessed to me that you’d kissed another man, and let him touch you.’
Elsie grinned and looked down, blushing. ‘Who?’
‘You wouldn’t tell me.’
‘What did you do?’
‘I told you that I needed to discipline you. So I took you over to the dining room table,’ he spun her around so quickly and with such strength, that it made her dizzy. ‘And bent you over it.’
Cole gently pushed her flat, until the side of her face met the cold hard wood. She spread out her palms, bit her lip and exhaled.
‘What next?’ she said.
‘I pulled down your bottoms,’ his hands gripped the edge of her pyjamas.
‘Uh-huh.’
He pulled down hard, whipping her loose cotton slacks to the floor so they crumpled around her ankles.
‘And then?’ she moaned from the table, gripping the edges tight with her fingers, conscious that if her neighbours were to wander into their own gardens and look back, they would see her like this, bent over and vulnerable.
‘Then I slid your knickers down,’ he began to do so with just one finger, hooked into the waist, excruciatingly slowly. ‘Until they reached your knees.’
‘Like that?’
Cole nodded, admiring the sight of his wife, her legs spread, bent over their dining room table, her beauty exposed to him. ‘Just like that.’
Elsie shuddered as she breathed in, her whole body tingling with pleasure and anticipation.
‘What came next?’ she whispered, already knowing the answer.
Cole stroked his hand slowly across her cheeks, caressing them and parting them. Then he took his hand away, and swept it up behind him.
‘I punished you.’
Elsie heard a whistle of air and felt the sensation of strength followed by a sharp crack.
A dizzying mixture of pleasure, relief and pain coursed through her like a bolt of lightning, forking through the night sky. It was electrifying and she jumped and cried out, closing her eyes and then lowering her forehead back down onto the polished wood as the sting began to spread out across her cheek.
She licked her dry lips and turned back to face him, her eyes wide as she breathed sharply through the pain.
‘Let’s go upstairs,’ whispered Cole.
