A Storm of Glass and Stars (The Oncoming Storm Book 4) Page 26

by Marion Blackwood

Straightening, I swept my gaze over the vast dark blue sea filled with glittering stars. Wind whipped through my hair. The loss of identity and the confused feelings of rootlessness were gone as well. My unshakable sense of self was back and stronger than ever.

What do you want? At last, I knew the answer to that question. What did I want? I smiled at the open horizon. Freedom.

This was an emotionally draining book to write, but one I wanted to write. There will always be people who will try to change you. People who will try to turn you into someone you’re not just so that you will fit into their narrow view of how everyone should live their life. Don’t let them. Be you. Live your life in a way that makes you happy. Unless, you know, you’re someone like Niadhir who enjoys breaking people and driving them insane in the name of research. Then maybe don’t be that guy. But otherwise, be you.

As always, I would like to say a huge thank you to my family and loved ones. Mom, Dad, Mark, thank you for the enthusiasm, love, and encouragement. I truly don’t know what I would do without you. Lasse, Ann, Karolina, Axel, Martina, thank you for continuing to take such an interest in my books. It really means a lot.

Another group of people I would like to once again express my gratitude to is my wonderful team of beta readers: Deshaun Hershel, Jennifer Nicholls, Luna Lucia Lawson, and Orsika Petér. Thank you for the time and effort you put into reading the book and providing helpful feedback. Your suggestions and encouragement truly makes the book better.

To my fantastic copy editor and proofreader Julia Gibbs, thank you for all the hard work you always put into making my books shine. Your attention to detail is amazing and makes me feel confident that I’m publishing the very best version of my books.

Dane Low is another person I’m very fortunate to have found. He is the extraordinary designer from ebooklaunch.com who made the stunning cover for this book. Dane, thank you for the effort you put into making yet another gorgeous cover for me. You knock it out of the park every time.

I am also very fortunate to have friends both close by and from all around the world. My friends, thank you for everything you’ve shared with me. Thank you for the laughs, the tears, the deep discussions, and the unforgettable memories. My life is a lot richer with you in it.

Before I go back to writing the next book, I would like to once again say thank you to you, the reader. Thank you for being so invested in the world of the Oncoming Storm that you continued the series. If you have any questions or comments about the book, I would love to hear from you. You can find all the different ways of contacting me on my website, www.marionblackwood.com. There you can also sign up for my newsletter to receive updates about coming novels. Lastly, if you liked this book and want to help me out so that I can continue writing books, please consider leaving a review. It really does help tremendously. I hope you enjoyed the adventure!
