Immediately, Wilhelm broke into a sprint, surging toward the unprepared spider. The ground caved in under the pressure, and it took Wilhelm only a mere second to appear in front of one of the spider's eight eyes. Both of his daggers were thrust downward; not a single shred of hesitation was reflected in his remaining eye as he resolved himself to battle.
Slish! Blood spurted into the air and painted Wilhelms body green with grime, also causing the spider to painfully awake from its slumber. The eight legs writhed painfully as a wail escaped from its lips, deafening the surroundings and rupturing Wilhelm's ear. It shook its body and flung Wilhelm off, regaining its position and confidence.
It gazed at Wilhelm with unparalleled hatred, grinding its furry legs together in a threatening manner. Unfortunately for the spider, Wilhelm was already under the influence of immense adrenaline. No meager threat could waver his current determination. His blades whirled in the palm of his hands as he slumped down again, preparing to charge.
His eyes darted across the room, looking for a route to ensure victory. In a quick second, a small, but dangerous plan formulated inside of his head. A wry smile appeared on his lips as he launched off the ground, once again charging toward the spider.
Six of the spider's eight legs suddenly propelled toward Wilhelm in a disorderly fashion, some faster than others. They streaked across the cavern and hurled a bit of wind, fluttering Wilhelm's loincloth. His eye dilated as he shifted his body to the left, barely dodging the first leg and kicking off it.
However, that wasn't the end; the spiders' coordination was much better than he expected. The other five legs came in tow, following him through the air. He was forced to flip within the air and block one of the legs by crossing his daggers in front of him, causing sparks to fly out. Alas, the next four legs never stopped, inching closer and closer.
With a click of Wilhelms' tongue, he dropped his guard and moved his head to the left, letting one of the spider legs scrape his right shoulder. He then fell to the ground and didn't even bother blocking the other attacks, allowing them to scrape against his body.
Blood spouted from his torso as he leaped onto one of the extended legs, running across it as fast as he could. The spiders other two legs immediately moved to retaliate. However, Wilhelm already anticipated such a development. He used his dexterous body to droop downward, raising both of his daggers and placing them in front of his face. His entire figure became very arrow-dynamic, similar to a torpedo.
Both he and the two legs gradually moved closer and closer until they were only about five inches away from each other. Time seemed to stop as Wilhelm lightly hopped off the spider leg he was standing on, using his daggers to parry the other two legs at the same time. Sparks flew into the surroundings, and just the sheer power behind the spider caused Wilhelm's left shoulder to become dislocated. His left arm drooped, but Wilhelm ground his teeth and persisted on; the spider would soon regain its superior position.
Using the short amount of time, he bought, he once again hopped onto the overextended legs and ran forward. All of this happened within a few seconds, and the spider was left entirely unprotected. Wilhelm would not waste this hard-won chance, he relentlessly continued forward, not caring about his physical body in the slightest. The green acid-like mucus that surrounded the spider suddenly started to congeal into a ball, shooting at Wilhelm—the spiders' last-ditch effort.
A glimmer of cold light escaped from Wilhelm's eyes as he gladly met the ball of acid, face to face. He turned his body at the last second and let his left arm take the full force, dowsing half of his body in painful acid. Even with all of his agility, he had no time, nor was he fast enough to evade. He let his superior stamina handle the rest as he finally leaped onto the spiders' prosoma, his silver dagger raised overhead.
In response, the spider stopped using its legs and opened its mouth wide, attempting to swallow Wilhelm whole. The large mouth was covered in small, serrated teeth, and a foul stench emanated from it. Wilhelm scrunched up his nose as he threw his rusted dagger at one of the eyes whilst in mid-air.
This entire confrontation was a considerable gamble. Whether or not the colossal spider reacted and protected its own eye was the key to victory. Thankfully, like most brainless animals, it closed its mouth and moved its head downward, evading the lethal blow, but also letting Wilhelm land on top of it.
As if he was waiting for this moment all along, Wilhelm stabbed into the monsters thorax with his silver dagger. He then used his entire weight to jump off of the spider while holding on to his dirk, cutting the spider's entire gut open. Its whole body shook, causing small rocks to fall from above, but Wilhelm ground his teeth and continued.
Green blood painted his entire body as he slid down, staining his white skin. The acid also burned off a part of his left arm, causing it to blister. The pain was almost unbearable, but Wilhelm wouldn't let go until the spider stopped moving.
He let out a loud battle-cry as the time seemed to tick. The beasts entire gut was just about spilled; innards fell to the ground, and the spiders' eyes gradually lost their light. It had just been enjoying a nice rest, but now, it had died to something similar to the size of an ant.
Wilhelm wasn't able to rest just yet, he quickly escaped from the collapsing body and fell to the ground, gasping for breath. His entire body was riddled with wounds, not to mention his dislocated shoulder. Even breathing hurt, let alone movement.
[Minor Arachnid has been slain; you have acquired 3050 experience]
[you have leveled up and received one allocatable stat point]
[Title: Insect marauder has been acquired—lesser insects will innately fear you (only one title can be equipped at a time)]
Wilhelm was soothed by the robotic voice, but there was only one thing he could think about at the moment.
"H-how the hell am I going to bury this thing?"
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
A massive amount of blood and innards was strewed across the ground, resulting in quite the atrocious smell. Wilhelm was unable to even handle the odor and used his right hand to cover his nose. The left side of his body was still full of blisters, and his left arm was dislocated, hanging to the side.
The other creatures which were still stuck in their cocoons couldn't help but incredulously stare at Wilhelm. Their intelligence was bafflingly low, but they were still impressed by the feats of strength shown to them. A creature much smaller than them, Wilhelm, was capable of defeating the gigantic spider.
Naturally, it was not an easily won battle. In fact, if Wilhelm had moved just one second slower, the chances of him dying were rather high. Furthermore, with the exhaustion received from the intense fight, and the multitude of injuries acquired, he was in no position to move further down the grotto.
His body's natural regeneration capabilities were inhumane, yet he would still have to wait a few days before he could revert back into his prime. Nonetheless, the only reason he could even persist through the pain was due to the massive adrenaline rush, which was quickly fading. The agony was becoming more and more accentuated by the acid, slowly burning his skin.
He exhaled a sigh of exasperation whilst standing up from the ground, dusting off his legs and buttocks. A glimmer of determination shone in his eyes as he rested his right hand on his dislocated shoulder. He stood there with a stoic expression, lodging his shoulder back into place after a few moments of hesitation.
A gnarly cracking sound echoed out, and a small grunt escaped from Wilhelm's thin lips. He ground his teeth and temporarily dealt with the pain as he searched for his rusted dagger amongst the bloody mess. The surroundings were relatively quiet as he searched under the globs of innards, body parts, and even webs.
He ignored the creatures struggling in the webs—soon locating his rusted dagger, still embedded into a part of the spiders' carcass. He trotted toward the dirk and pulled it out with a little bit of effort, causing some blood to spurt out in the process. Green droplets sprayed onto the right side of his
face, but his expression remained placid.
He had just acquired a title for killing the spider and leveled up, thankfully. Though, the effort expended was rather disproportionate in comparison to what he was rewarded with. His status was stronger than ever before, but it still wasn't enough to make it out of the dungeon. He figured the spider was some kind of low-level mini-boss, not powerful enough to be considered a threat to the creatures on the top floors.
With that in mind, the battle made Wilhelm realize that he was living far too luxurious as of late; if he didn't start to level up more religiously, death would be inevitable. Thinking to here, he stretched his limbs and sauntered toward the webbed beasts, his eye faintly glimmering within the darkness.
With the new additions to the status, the ants wiggled fearfully as he approached, yet they were unable to do anything in retaliation. They could only look on in horror as Wilhelm thrust his blade into their skulls, ending their miserable lives.
He repeated this action a few times, killing the dozen or so creatures that were trapped. Not including the spiders' experience, he gained a good amount of levels from murdering its food. He was already around a fourth of the way through to the next level, indicating that he received around 2000 experience from the other creatures.
After killing them, he heaved another deep sigh and scanned the room, surveying the surroundings with lackluster eyes. The carcasses laid scattered on the ground, and not a single area without blood could be seen. The gigantic spider was more than enough work for a few men to bury; he wasn't too thrilled about such a development.
He begrudgingly sat his daggers down on the ground and stretched his back, the life in his eyes gradually fading. It was time to stop resting and start working. He was a little excited about how much experience he would gain for burying the spider, and how many points it would give him.
Like this, he decided to check his status before digging, so that he could at least gain some peace of mind.

His agility still exceeded the other attributes by a large margin, so he wasn't too worried about placing a point into it. On the other hand, now that his physique had progressed to a satisfactory level, he was quite interested in the intelligence attribute. Once he had used his evolution point, he gained five mana points, but his mana-power was still zero.
With this in mind, he decided to add a point into intelligence. There wasn't much to lose. Albeit, the thought of increasing his stamina was quite hard to resist. Immediately, a cooling sensation appeared inside of his head, easing his hectic thoughts.
[Intelligence has been increased by 1]
[magic power has been increased by 1]
[Mana pool has been increased by 5]
Wilhelm inspected the new changes to his status and nodded his head in content. He still couldn't use his mana, mana power, or any spells for that matter. However, going off by the fact that his class received a "spectral daggers" skill, it wasn't entirely agility based. Furthermore, the fact that he gained experience for digging was probably something unique to his class, giving him an advantage over other secret classes. Wilhelm refused to believe that this strange feature was there for no reason.
As he thought to here, he crouched down and grabbed the daggers on the ground, proceeding to dig a rather sizeable hole.
"Ahh, I'm going to die in here, sooner or later…" he muttered out.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Wilhelm disregarded his much-needed sleep and continuously dug at the ground with his dagger. It didn't matter how much time passed, the ditch would only get deeper, and no other creatures dared to venture into the spiders' domain. The massive amount of blood and innards was a grim reminder to the lurkers that something dangerous was present.
The fact that Wilhelm was severely injured didn't matter in the slightest; the other creatures were far too hesitant to approach. The giant spider had defended its position within the dungeon for a long while, and it's presence had long been respected by the other monsters. Naturally, if another creature killed it, then said creature would rightfully take the spider's place as the next guardian.
Unfortunately, however, Wilhelm was unable to appreciate his new position. The determination he had shown in the past gradually faded the more he dug, losing all form of purpose. It was similar to cleaning an absolutely filthy house, but you weren't the one who made it dirty. Not only would it be rage-inducing, but you would also be constantly questioning the integrity of the world.
Such thoughts and sentiments were corroding Wilhelm's mind as he begrudgingly uncovered the gravel. It wasn't until the next day, twenty-four hours later, that the hole was just barely bulky enough for the spider to enter. Bags had formed under Wilhelm's eyes, and his thin lips were deathly chapped.
It was a burial fit for hundreds of standard bodies, yet Wilhelm completed it within one day. His body was exhausted, and now he was forced to drag the decaying eight-legged corpse into the grave. Unlike the ants he had tugged previously, its weight was undoubtedly much more abundant.
There wasn't even enough time to inspect his new attributes, even though he possessed no magic spells. He heaved one of the eight legs over his shoulder and stood there with an absent look. The excessive weight caused his feet to become deeply embedded into the ground, and his joints painfully creaked.
The absence of sleep weakened his already injured condition, but since the ground was wet with blood, the spider was a tad bit easier to slide across the ground. He grunted painfully as the huge corpse was pulled across the ground. Such a scene would be miraculous back on earth, but Wilhelm didn't have time to admire his superb strength; his skin on his right shoulder was slowly serrating.
Blood fell from his upper body and dripped down his back, falling to the ground. His skin was weaker than usual due to the lack of nutrition. However, he still managed to hurl the enormous spider into the considerably large hole. Furthermore, there was enough room for the other dozen or so beasts that he had killed prior.
After carrying the fatass spider, the other monsters felt like feathers. They were easily thrown into the ground, resulting in a half-way finished burial. The huge lumps of debris and sand at the side were then pushed into the grave, successfully covering up the carcasses.
It wasn't until he fell on his behind and gasped for breath that the system notifications finally rang in his ear. His eyes glittered expectantly as he paid close attention to the robotic voice, forgetting even to breathe.
[Minor Arachnid has been successfully buried; 1000 experience rewarded]
[Group of hybrid monsters has been successfully buried; 750 experience rewarded]
[35 burial points have been rewarded for burying a minor creature]
[15 burial points have been rewarded for burying fifteen lesser creatures]
Wilhelm breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed onto the ground, right then and there. He was very close to breaking the burial limit, and he was also getting closer to level up. Albeit, every time he gained a level, it required much more experience for the subsequent tiers.
Like this, he peacefully drifted off to sleep. There was not a single nearby beast that dared to creep into Wilhelm's new lair, nor were there any strong monsters
present. The dark cave was unusually quiet, and the blood on the ground reflected a small glimmer from the roof. A small crack was present, and a nearly inconspicuous eye could be seen peering down at the room. It belonged to no human, and was only capable of gazing down, inside the cavern due to the spider wreaking havoc previously.
It observed Wilhelm with unmatched curiosity, not adverting its gaze for the entire night. It had a yellow pupil and appeared to be a reptilian-like race as there was a slit in the middle of its eyes. The sheer size of it was worth noting, but it did not appear to be aggressive, only spectating during the night.
