The Holy Land

Thus, after attaining some success with spatial magic, he decided to leave. Wilhelm fixed his glasses and brought the sharp edge of his dagger to the ends of his beard. Although he loved his majestic beard, it was time for him to enter what was left of human society.

Fortunately, it didn't take him long to shave most of it off, leaving a small stubble on his chin. After which, he dusted off his sophisticated clothes and streaked his obsidian, black hair backward.

With one last glance toward the dissipating elf, a chuckle escaped from Wilhelm's lips as he stepped forward, through the portal. After many months, maybe even years, he had finally escaped the dungeon that was crawling with ants, grottenburgs, minotaur’s, and other strange creatures. Even when he was on death's door while fighting Big Red, or the army of alligators, he somehow managed to stay alive and persist through both the thick and thin. Drinking flame-water as his main substance and eating disgusting insects, like centipedes, for nutrition. All of that was over, at last. The beautiful world of The Holy Land awaited!

  …

Whoosh! a strange feeling churned the insides of Wilhelm's stomach as he transversed the portal, lasting for only a few seconds before abruptly stopping. Soon, Wilhelm felt his feet touch solid ground. His skin could feel the cool breeze and his black hair could finally flutter within the wind. More noteworthy than all of that, however, was that his nose finally smell the luscious greenery and fresh scent of the Holy Land. Then, after admiring the aroma for a few moments, he finally opened his eyes. Tall trees surrounded him, garnishing their massive trunks and blanketing the ground in pine.

Squirrels chittered from their homes and jumped from branch to branch, while the nearby birds tweeting and swooped downward. But, what garnered Wilhelm's full attention was the bustling city just a few kilometers in front of him. Instead of the goblin village that used to be present, tall walls made out of stone and iron introduced themselves.

People walked in and out of the village with smiles on their faces, carrying things like berries and small animals in their baskets. Even children could be seen running around and playing, as if it were a large town back on earth. Something that even Wilhelm thought to be impossible, especially after getting stuck inside of the dungeon.

"Hey, who are you?" a man, from behind Wilhelm, suddenly asked. He was a tad bit taller than Wilhelm, standing at around six feet and five inches.

Hearing this sound, Wilhelm slowly turned around and scrutinized the two people in front of him. One was a tall man, while the other was a short girl, which was quite the contrast. The man possessed short brown hair, a muscular body, and a bastard sword hanging on his back. The little girl, on the other hand, looked sweet, with short blonde hair and a small crossbow in her hands. Both of them tightly clutched their weapons within their hands, ready to attack at any given moment.

The man in front of them was simply too strange looking! Tall and thin, excessively pale due to the undertaker class and lack of sunlight, ruby-red eyes, and the unique looking clothes.

One thing that everyone in the Holy Land came to understand, was that strength could usually be determined by one's obscurity. The stranger looking, the higher the chance of a higher attainment in their class.

Wilhelm tapped his chin and smiled, "it's only polite to state your name before asking of mine," he replied with a hint of laughter.

He enjoyed nothing more than being sarcastic and toying with people.
