"Alright, it's multiples," Jed told Alex as he glanced over at him. "And one of the limbs are tucked back. Talk to her nicely, and I'll take care of it."

Alex nodded and Parker watched closely as Jed began to maneuver the lamb out. One minute he was mesmerized and the next he realized with startling clarity that he was going to look just like that ewe. Can I even handle this? Fuck, that looks like it hurts.

Parker's eyes went wider the longer he watched Jed navigate the lamb out. He'd concentrated on the pregnancy part so much that he had blocked out the fact that it was going to hurt like a motherfucker. He gripped his belly and groaned as pain shot through it and up his back. I think I'm going to be sick.

"That's one," Jed called triumphantly. "The second one is in the correct position so let's let her do the work herself."

It didn't take long before another head slipped free, and Jed quickly assessed them. When he smiled, Parker knew they were both going to be just fine.

"A boy and a girl and they're healthy," he said as he stood up. "I'm going to get cleaned up. Are you okay? I know it was a bit intense when you're about to pop."

Parker nodded "That's an understatement. I felt a little sick thinking about how much pain I'm going to be in, but look at them," he cooed as he watched the babies. "Even though it's terrifying, the reward is worth it."

Jed smiled. "Let me go get cleaned up and we can grab dinner." He glanced out of the barn doors. "We better hurry up. The snow is really coming down out there."

He walked over to the sink to get cleaned up, and Parker smiled down at the lambs. Both of them were so cute as they nestled up to their mother and started to drink. Another bout of pain squeezed his belly and went up his back as he held onto it.

  "Jed?" He breathed. "Jed!'

"I'm right here," he called as he raced over. "What is it?"

  "I think it's time."

"Now?" Jed asked astounded. "Right now?"

"No, next week," Parker said sarcastically before another contraction hit. "I thought it was just the false labor pains again but apparently it’s not. ."

"Let's get you to the hospital," Jed mumbled as he yanked his phone out of his pocket. "I'll call Dr. Johnson. When did this start?"

"Last night, but they were all over the place. God," Parker groaned. "I don't know how long we have. It feels like it's going to be soon."

  "Let's go."

Jed helped Parker into the car and set his phone into the holder. It rang and rang, but no one picked up on the other side. The more it rang, the more nervous Parker became.

"What are we going to do if she can't meet us at the hospital?"

For a minute, Jed looked as lost as he felt. "We're going to my place. My mom has helped with plenty of births, and if we can't get in touch with Dr. Johnson, it'll be the best option that we have."

Parker shook his head. "I thought I was going to get drugs and a comfortable room and...and..."

"Breathe," Jed cooed. "You're going to be fine."

"What if something goes wrong like with Clara?" Parker asked as his eyes watered. "We won't have anyone to help."

"We'll take it one step at a time. Besides, I'm trained. I'm sure I can help," Jed said.

Parker glared at him. "What part of me looks like an animal to you!"

"Alright," he muttered. "I'll just shut up now."

The car pulled into the driveway and Parker took his arm. He had to stop on the way up the drive as another contraction slammed into him before he could move again. His heart was going a million miles a minute as Jed knocked on the door.

"I can't believe this is actually happening," Parker whispered as he rubbed his belly. "We're going to be parents. Together. This is fucking surreal."

Jed kissed his forehead softly. "I can't think of a single person I'd rather go through life with than you."

Parker's heart swelled, and he clung to Jed. Those few simple words soothed him, and he felt a bit more confident that he could do anything when he was with him. I'm going to get through this, and he's going to be right by my side. That was the greatest gift of all.

  Chapter Eighteen

  Parker

"Is she close?" Parker asked as he sat in the warm water in the tub and tried to remember to breathe as one contraction after another hit him.

Jed shook his head. "She can't make it. The snow is too bad, and she's too far away. We're going to have to do this on our own."

"My own," Parker snapped. "You mean I'm going to have to do it on my own! When are you giving birth?"

When he looked at his mom for help, the woman just threw up her hands. "I told you to go sit with your father and brothers and wait, but you wanted to stay."

"Don't you dare leave me," Parker groaned. "This fucking sucks!"

"No one said it was going to be easy, honey," she said as she sat beside the tub. "It shouldn't be too much longer. Your contractions are so close together that you'll be having a baby soon."

"Babies," Parker panted out as a contraction passed. "We found out we were having twins," he hissed.

"You weren't going to tell us?" His mother whirled on Jed.

"It was going to be a surprise," Jed said defensively. "Don't narrow your eyes at me like that, it was!"

"Hmph," she breathed and patted Parker's arm. "Did you guys find out what you were having?"

Parker shook his head. "We wanted to wait and find out on the day." He grimaced. "I guess we're going to find out right now."

"Now?" Jed jumped up and ran over to his side to grab his hand, something he hadn't been able to do since Parker growled at him to fuck off. "It's happening right now?"

"Yeah," he groaned. "Right now," he said as he gripped Jed's hand hard. "I don't know if I can do this," he breathed.

"I'm right here with you," he said as he kissed his forehead.

Their lips met, and Parker felt the waves of calm that washed over him. When they pulled apart, he was ready. No point in waiting. He wanted to see his babies.

Surprisingly, the birth was a lot faster than he expected. A few hard pushes and his babies slipped out as if they were ready to be born. Their cries filled the bathroom and Parker barely registered the cheers from downstairs as Jed dabbed at his forehead and held one of the babies in his other arm.

  "What did we have?"

"Two beautiful little girls." Jed grinned as he handed one to Parker and his mother handed over the other. "I can't get over how beautiful they are."

Parker knew exactly how he felt. He stared at them, unable to take his eyes off the little bundles that cried and sought out a chest to nuzzle. Slowly, Jed helped him, and both of the babies latched on without too much fuss.

"I finally did something right," Parker muttered to himself. "Just look at them." He beamed at his daughters that happily suckled against his exhausted body. "I feel like I could sleep for a year."

“You can have all the rest you want.” Jed smiled as he ran a hand over their wisps of blonde hair. “I’m going to be enamored with these darlings and never want to hand them over.”

“You big mush.” Parker chuckled. “I’ve never seen you light up like this.”

“It’s all I’ve been craving,” Jed admitted. “A mate of my own, pups. A good life. I have that now, and it’s even better because I have it with my best friend.”

Parker sniffled. "This is just all the hormones," he said as his lip quivered. "And because I love you so much."

A smile tugged at Jed's lips. "I love you, too, brat."

Parker only handed over his daughters to his mother-in-law so he could get cleaned up. Once he was all wrapped up in blankets in Jed's bedroom, he glanced around happily. It had been a long time since he'd been there.

"The hole is still there," he pointed out as Jed brought over a towel to dry his hair.

"Yeah, from that night you decided to challenge me and I had to wrestle you into submission. Twice." He laughed. "I should have known back then you had a thing for me and a thing for a strong hand." />
Parker grinned up at him. "What can I say? I like when my man knows just how to take control."

"Stop that," Jed groaned. "You know we have to wait a while for you to heal up, and that's going to make it so much harder."

"How much harder?" Parker wiggled his eyebrows.

"That's it, I'm putting you down," he said as he snatched up a pillow and threatened to smother him with it.

Parker laughed, and when they calmed down, he tilted his head. "Can I ever be like you?" He asked softly. "Or will I be a human forever?"

"I asked Nan Lucy about that before she headed back home," he said seriously. "You can, but we should wait a while if that's what you want." He lifted Parker's chin. "Is that what you want?"

"I'm not sure yet," Parker said honestly. "I just want to know if it's an option. For now, I'm perfectly content with where we are."

Jed kissed him softly. "Me too."

"Knock, knock," a soft voice rang out. "I have diapered and clothed babies for you guys. Are you dressed?"

"Come in," Parker called. Jed's parents walked in with the sleeping twins and carefully placed them in his arms. "They're like little angels," he sighed.

"Did you two decide on a name?" Warren asked.

"Noelle and Holly," Jed grinned. "Since they decided to come right on Christmas Eve, we figured it was only appropriate."

"That's so sweet," his mother gushed as she held a hand to her chest. "We'll let you two rest after we bring in the bassinets."

"They're at home," Jed said confused.

"Declan brought one of his and Nathan the other. They can't wait to meet them, but we told everyone to lay off until you two are ready," Grace chuckled and shook her head. "They're eager to congratulate you both, but I think they're still worried about how much a human can take. No offense."

Parker smiled. "None taken at all. Truthfully? I'm exhausted, so I appreciate the space. We'll be down to celebrate with everyone tomorrow. How does that sound?"

"Don't push yourself," Warren said as he peered at the newborns, and a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "I'm sure they're tired too."

Parker forced himself not to cry again. Everyone else had started to accept him, but Jed's father had been the most stubborn one of all. The gentle way he talked to him and his daughter's, however, made him want to jump for joy.

I'm finally one of them, I have two beautiful little girls and a man that loves me to death. This is the best Christmas ever.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Jed

Jed walked downstairs while Parker was still fast asleep and the twins were nestled inside of their bassinets. Their first night together with twins had been hectic, but Parker insisted on feeding them. Jed had finally convinced him to get some rest and stayed up rocking and walking with his girls until they had finally fallen asleep.

The lure of coffee was what finally brought him down the stairs. He was heading for the kitchen when he caught a glimpse of the living room. The huge tree took up a corner of the room and was decorated in red, green, and gold ornaments. Some he'd seen when he was at the house before, but they had added to it, and the entire living room looked like a holiday haven. Nathan clapped a hand on his shoulder.

"Congratulations, bro," he said as he squeezed him and tugged him into a hug. Nathan clapped a hand on his back and Jed grinned. "We wanted to tell you last night, but mom said if we went upstairs, we'd spend the night outside."

"She's really good at threatening people." Dec grinned as he yanked Jed against him next. "We can't wait to see the girls."

Jed beamed. Seeing how proud of him his brothers were made him feel ecstatic. They had finally all found their mates and in the best way possible.

"How's Parker?" Nathan asked as he settled onto the couch and Jed joined him.

"A bit tired, but happy. I've never seen him smile so much," Jed chuckled. "We're going to go see his parents in a few days when he's feeling up to moving. Let's just hope the pups stay like they are."

Declan walked back into the living room and handed him a steaming hot mug of coffee. "Do you think they're going to be humans or wolves?"

Jed shrugged. "I'm not sure, but either way, I'm going to love them."

"Morning," Jed's mother yawned as she carried three eager pups in her arms. "They wanted to come over."

  "Where's Emmett and Colten?"

She jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "Right behind me. It was a team effort to get all of them changed and clothed, but they wanted me to hold them after. I don't know what I'm going to do when your girls get bigger. I won't have enough arms!" She set the children down, and they took off for the tree.

"Wait for Grandpa and Parker," his mother admonished. "It won't take too long."

"We want to open nowwww," Payton whined.

"You heard her," Colten said as he raised a brow at his daughter. "Unless you don't want any presents at all."

She quickly shook her little head of curls and plopped onto the floor. Colten grinned as soon as her head was turned and shook his head at Declan.

"A handful," Declan mused as he watched her poke at her brother. "That one is going to drive us insane."

"At least we have each other," Colten said as he sat next to Declan and pulled him into his lap, making Declan blush.

"Really? Are you ever going to stop this?"

"Never," Colten purred as he nipped Declan's neck.

Nathan groaned. "Will you two cut it out? Some of us are trying to have a good morning."

"You're just as bad as they are," Emmett grinned as he sat next to Nathan and rested a head on his shoulder.

"Shhhh," Nathan said as he pressed a hand to Emmet's mouth. "Stop snitchin' on me."

Emmett licked his hand, and Nathan pulled a face while he mate chuckled deviously.

Jed glanced around at his family as they all sat together, and even his father had snuggled up with his mother. I'm so fucking lucky. Just a few months ago, he thought it would never happen for him, but he was thankful that he had for all of them.

  "Jed?"

The sound of his mate's voice drew him out of his daydreaming and he jumped up from the couch. He jogged up the stairs to find Parker at the top dressed in some comfy clothes he'd borrowed from Jed, his hair in a mess all over his head. In his arms, he held both of the girls and handed Holly to him.

"Are you okay?" Jed asked, concerned as he checked his face and watched him carefully to make sure that he was fine. Humans weren't nearly as fragile as he'd originally thought, but he was still concerned about his mate. "Do you need help?"

Parker shook his head. "I feel pretty good. Sore and tired, but good. I want to come down with everyone else, I just didn't want to hold both of them and not be able to use the railing to guide myself down."

  "Give me Noelle too."

"I can do it," Parker argued.

"No fighting me on it. You can have them back when you're sitting down and your feet are up. Hand her over, brat."

  Parker grinned. "Yes, my alpha."

Jed shivered. "What did I tell you about tempting me?"

"Do it as much as possible while I'm safe and you can't punish me?" Parker asked innocently as he batted his eyes.

"Give me the baby," Jed grumbled.

Parker chuckled behind him the entire time as they descended the stairs. When they ended up in the living room, everyone immediately started to fuss over him and the babies. Parker's eyes lit up, and Jed was grateful that his family had accepted him the way they had. The look on his partner's face, the pure happiness that radiated from his smile, meant everything to him.

"Let me see my grandchildren," his father said as he held out his arms.

Jed placed them in his arms, and the man examined them closely. Slowly, he cracked a smile at them and started speaking to them so quietly Jed could barely hear what he was saying. Whatever it was, they reached for him and looked happy to be in his arms.

"They're beautiful," his father said as he ran a finger over Noel
le's cheek. "They look like you," he said as he glanced up at Parker.

"Do you think?" He asked as he smiled back at him. "Thank you," he said as he took Jed's hand. "And thank you for taking me into your family."

"You're more than family," his mother said as she walked over and hugged Parker. "You're pack, Parker, and one of us."

"God." Parker sniffled. "You guys have got to stop making me cry."

"Even when you cry, you're beautiful," Jed said as he leaned over and kissed his tears. "I'm so proud of you." Jed kissed his lips, and his family cheered in the background until Parker's face turned red.

"So, when are you two going to move onto pack land?" His father asked when they finally pulled apart.

Parker nodded toward Jed. "That's up to him. He's going to be in control of the finances from here on out."

"Are you sure?" Jed asked. "I wouldn't ask that of you. It's your money."

"It's our money, and honestly? I'd rather not handle it. I trust you, and I'm perfectly happy with you taking care of everything."

Jed beamed. "The fact that you can trust me is all I needed to hear." He settled beside Parker and held his hand in his own. "What are we going to do about the ranch though?"

"Sell it?" Parker asked as he tapped his chin. "We could use the money to expand here, build a house, and even set up another ranch on pack lands. I'd much rather be here with all of you than on my own," he said sheepishly as he gazed around the room.

"Awww," Nathan crooned. "Somebody likes us."

"Shut it," Jed growled as he ran a tongue over Parker's mark. "He's already red enough."

"You're making it worse!" Parker squeaked, and laughter erupted around them.

"I'm going to get eggnog," his mother announced. "Parker, you clearly can't have any since you're nursing the pups, but I'll bring one for everyone else.

"None for Emmett, Mom." Nathan smirked as he took his mate's hand.
