by Devonnie Asher

First, thank you to my parents, Denton and Deon, who nurtured my love of reading and writing. You guys taught me to love reading from an early age, and supported me throughout the pursuit of my dreams. I am forever grateful, and I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without your influence.

If it weren’t for my husband and partner-in-life, Miguel, I wouldn’t have gathered the courage to finally plunge into the world of self-publishing. Thank you for supporting me wholeheartedly, and for being the voice of positivity, always reminding me to “write it, and they’ll come.” You make me feel like superwoman.

To my best friends, Leciamar and Crystania, thank you for being my cheerleaders. You two are the best sounding board, and pushed me to actually do more than sit on this idea. I can always count on you both.

Thank you to Shemeka, Danielle and Brianna. You guys were the best Alpha Readers an author could ask for. I appreciate the time you took to read the very first draft of Dragon Academy, as well as provide such helpful, honest feedback. Without your help, it would’ve been difficult to make this book a reality.

To everyone who has ever offered me a positive word on my journey as a writer, thank you. Your support is more than I could have ever asked for. Here’s to many more books.

  About the Author

Devonnie Asher is the author of the Dragon Tamers of Pyralis series, an edge-of-your-seat fantasy adventure set in an idyllic island paradise, much like the country she calls home. She loves to write immersive stories with young adult characters that explore themes like coming of age, heroism, love, and the thin line between good and evil. When she’s not writing from the messy desk she told herself she would clean a week ago, you can find Devonnie watching anime while sipping a dangerously hot cup of tea. She lives in Jamaica with her husband and an ever-growing collection of books.
