But, instead of being upset which Brianna was afraid about, the two of them had a beaming smile on their face, which surprised Brianna. But she was too shocked for words.
“You’re not mad or anything, right? That’s her dying wish, and what she wanted me to do. She asked me to make sure that her body went to someone special, that her heart could be used. She had a very strong heart, so I’m very happy that she could have it in someone’s body, giving them a second chance in life,” Charlotte said.
Amelia and George were both tearing up. Amelia looked at Brianna with a smile on her face, one that screamed reassurance and happiness.
“I’m not mad at all dear,” she said.
“You’re not,” Brianna said.
“No, not at all. In fact, I’m glad that her heart went to someone so sweet. We’re happy that Charlotte found someone that makes her happy,” Amelia said.
“Yeah, we’re kind of like her parents, and after Lisa passed, we were all super hurt by it. We ended up having trouble overcoming the grief. But now…knowing that our daughter could help someone like that, even in death is definitely something that makes us all happy” George said.
Brianna smiled. She felt like she did something good.
“Well, I love Charlotte, and I know that I’m not Lisa but…I wouldn’t mind a relationship with you guys, since I’m really happy with her,” Brianna said.
“Of course! We’re very happy to hear the news. We did catch word that Charlotte did arrange that, but we didn’t know what came of it. But now that we know the truth, I’m very happy with this. We are super happy to have you around Brianna,” Amelia said.
“Of course! We invited you two to dinner, right? You’re still welcome to dinner, it’s just nice knowing that there is a piece of the puzzle resolved. It makes us…quite happy, you know,” George said.
Amelia and George were wonderful people, and at the dinner table, they were quite characters, talking about their plans for retirement, and visiting a few places. Although the topic of Lisa did come up, there was something different about it this time. Neither of them seemed as hung up on her death as they have been in the past.
Charlotte’s face was in a grin, and for the rest of the night, Charlotte felt like she was on cloud nine. Both Amelia and George hugged Brianna, feeling happy with the way that things went. They were appreciative of the fact that, even though the pain of her dying was still in the air, the two of them did have her in a sense still around.
For Brianna, it was weird. She did think that they were happy because their daughter was still around somehow, but there was also that urge to learn more about Brianna, and about her life.
For the rest of the night, they laughed and talked about everything and anything. When Brianna and Charlotte left, Brianna heard something from Amelia before leaving.
“By the way Brianna. Thank you for being there for Charlotte. This is the happiest that she’s been in a very long time. We haven’t seen her eyes light up like that in a very long time. Thank you, and please…take care of her,” Amelia said.
Brianna felt tears in her eyes as she heard those words, the truth being spoken about who she was, and her place here in this world.
“Thank you. I will make sure that she’s taken care of and treated like a princess for the rest of her life.”
