He was in their bedroom when she got there and had taken off his clothes and was only in his boxers. It still gave her a jolt to look at his magnificent body. Christopher Tang was thirty-three but looked younger with his hard taut body muscled from frequent use of the gym downstairs. His dark hair had a habit of falling down on his forehead, giving him a boyish look. His eyes were probably his best features and could make you feel cherished or uncomfortable depending on his mood. He had often been photographed in the past with different beautiful women and declared to be one of the most eligible bachelors’ in the country. She sometimes found herself wondering what he ever saw in her.

“Are they down for the night?” she injected a falsely bright tone in her voice as she came into the room and started undressing.

“After two stories,” he watched as she went into the vast closet that had both their clothes and slipped out of the elegant skirt suit she had worn to work that day. She was incredibly beautiful and each time he looked at her he got hard.

She had left on her champagne colored camisole that fitted her body like a glove and came back inside the bedroom. His arm snaked out to capture hers when she made to pass him to go into the bathroom. “What’s going on with you?”

Sophia looked up and her eyes met his. “I don’t know what you mean,”

His eyes traveled down to the lace that was covering her generous breasts and he felt his blood heating up. “I know you more than I know anyone else because I love you the most,” he told her softly. “I know this thing with Matthews is on your mind and I have told you I will deal with it, whatever it is.”

“You did not call me during the day or even come into the office like you usually do,” she cried unable to keep it in any longer. “I am starting to wonder if you are having regrets.”

“How can you say that!” he shook her a little roughly. “You are my wife dammit! The mother of my children and I have proven over and over again how much I love you Sophia. I was in meetings for the entire day, you can check with Tiffany and I did not get the chance to call you. It’s been six years since we have been married and I should not have to prove myself to you at this point.”

She felt her lower lip tremble slightly and she placed her hands on his chest, feeling the warmth and solidness of him. “It’s just that you are Christopher Tang-“

“And you are Sophia Tang,” he interrupted her firmly. “You are my wife and I am your husband and whatever it is we are going to get through this together.”

  Chapter 2

Jeremy’s life had turned from the bizarre to the very screwed up. He had been run off to Australia by the powerful and forceful Christopher Tang after he had marry Sophia the woman he had gotten pregnant and had told her he did not want a child in his life. His marriage to Sheila had proven to be a huge mistake, in fact his entire encounter with that family had been the worst thing he had ever done and he blamed it all on Tang. Sheila had taken the only thing that was important to him: his son and now it had not worked out with Lauren.

After they had gone to Tuscan and they had heard about Merrick’s heart attack and subsequent death, things had become strained between them and it had drizzled down until they were no longer speaking to each other. After three years of it she had told him that she was going back to Australia to try and patch things up with her daughter and it would not be wise for him to come. He had stared at her in disbelief and had argued but it had not made a difference. She had given him a check for five thousand dollars and sent him on his way.

All around he had been used by people who had tried to run his life and he was sick of it. Now he was out of a job, divorced and dumped by an older woman who had given him the best sex he had ever had and his two children would never get to know him as their father. He had come back to America and found himself a small apartment in the same area he had been before and was intent on getting in touch with Sophia no matter what her husband said.

  *****

“He is back in the States boss and has gotten himself a small apartment in the area he had been before.” Marcus reported. “It appears the old lady he hooked up with and went to Mexico kicked him to the curb and he is actually job hunting. What do you want me to do?”

“Keep an eye on him. I want to know his every move.” Christopher said tersely.

  “Righto boss.”

Christopher put the phone back into his cradle, his expression thoughtful. So Matthews was back and he was no longer tied to anyone. He knew he could never go back to Australia, the damned fool had messed up there and left a scandal a mile long. Now he was back and for what? Did he think he was going to pick up where he left off with Sophia? He felt his body quivered at the thought. No! Sophia loved him and she was much too sensible to do that. She was not that type of person; she was faithful to him and him alone.

That was not what he was really worried about, what if Matthews got it into his head to want to see Christine? They had not told her that he was not her biological father deciding to do so when she was older and more able to accept and understand but what if he started coming around? What if he found her at the private school she attended and told her who he was? Would she end up hating them? She was his daughter dammit and he was not going to let Matthews take that away from him.

He remembered the first time she had told him she was pregnant, when he had kissed her in the elevator and how floored he had been. He had gone home then and had not been able to sleep thinking about her and despising himself for being attracted to another man’s woman, worse one who was pregnant with his child.

After he had found out the truth he had been drawn to her in spite of himself and had discovered that no other female would do. He had made love to her that first time and instead of getting her out of his system it had gotten to the point where he could think of nothing else but her. He had wanted her all the time. She was inside his head and in his blood and there was nothing he could do about it. He was hooked.

She had given him his boys, tiny replicas of himself and he had felt that his family was complete. He had told her in no uncertain terms that he was not willing for her to go through another pregnancy again after what he had seen when he had rushed home from the mall to see her in pain on the carpeted floor of their bedroom. He wanted to protect her and his children from the harshness that was out there and he would spend his last dime to see it happen.

He turned his attention to the museum they were helping to restore and the shopping mall Sophia had given him a very thick file on. They had two very huge projects that needed his concentration but he had no intention of losing track of Matthews whatsoever.

  *****

Sophia left him at the office because he had some meetings he could not back out of. She told him she would be stopping by the bookstore to see her mother and would be ready by the time he was through with his meeting.

“Let Carlos drive you there, I will pick you up when I am done here.” He told her briefly. He had come by her office to go over something with her.

“Is there a request in there somewhere or was that an order?” she asked him her eyebrows raised.

“A request of course.” He had kissed her on her lips and then headed out. “Make sure you have your jacket on, it’s freezing out.”

Sophia had looked at his retreating back and shook her head.

“Mom I thought the Christmas special was finished,” Sophia said as soon she entered the large store filled with books. She had acquired the bookstore sometime ago and had persuaded her mother who had been running a small bookstore at the time to become a part of it. She had turned it into a very profitable business in her own inimitable way of doing things.

There was a café complete with internet section and an area where children and young people could relax and read a book or just hang out. She had also introduced ‘Spell a word’ that had children competing with each other for prizes. Sophia’s friend Lorna ran the smaller bookstore and was doing very well herself.

“We decided to extend it to the end of January.” Sybil came around and gave her daughter a hug. “Let me look at you.” She held the girl at arms’ length and could not help but admire how she looked. She was wearing an elegant and expensive coral pantsuit and a coral and yellow scarf around her neck. Her thick natural hair was in a neat chignon at the nape of her neck and she had on gold accessories. “You look well.”

  “Thanks Mom.” Sophia told her.

Sybil took her daughter’s hand and led her over to one of the empty benches near to the office. She had hired two young ladies and they were making the rounds with the customers. “I have not seen my grandchildren in two weeks and I was telling Matthew that I need to have them over this weekend.”

“I think that’s a good idea if you don’t mind them driving you insane,” Sophia told her with a laugh. “Christine is living up to her role as a big sister and the boys follow her around like her subjects. Christopher of course is trying his best to drive us crazy by being contrary.”

“You have become a wife and a mother with three kids and I congratulate you and lift my hat off to you.” Sybil said softly.

“I never dreamed that I would become a mother of three,” Sophia said shaking her head. She looked off for a moment, her thoughts far away. “I am still having the dreams mom but they are not as intense as they were before. Christopher is upset that I won’t let it go but for some reason I cannot shake the feeling that Jeremy is going to come back and cause trouble.”

“You have a way of buying on situations onto yourself honey. I am sure that Jeremy is contented where he is and even if he is not, he has no right to Christine; she belongs to you and your husband.”

Sophia looked down at her clasped hands. She had not had the dream last night and had slept with her husband’s arms around her but that did not mean it was over. “I hope you are right. Okay enough about that, let’s hear what has been happening with you and Matthew since I have last seen you.”

  *****

They spoke about the financial viability of acquiring the shopping mall and he even drove around to where it was to have a look at the building. It had been built thirty years ago and had had minor restorations done to it. The beautiful stone façade was crumbling in some places and the parking lots needed extending. It was still in business but the area around it had become more advanced and offices were springing up everywhere. “What do you think we should do to it?” he asked her as he pulled into one of the empty parking spaces. The parking lot was a little empty as was to be expected because of the after Christmas lull and the time of day it was.

Sophia looked around and her eyes were drawn to the original stone structure. “Keep the original structure and add more glass to let in the sunlight but not too much. Of course the parking lot needs to be dealt with and the landscape will be a factor as well.”

“I agree,” he said softly looking around the huge space. “I have to meet with finance and sales and make a pitch and see where it goes from here. You are very good at your job.” He looked at her and noticed how her skin glowed in the light coming through from the car.

“Thank you,” she said her smile breaking forth and causing him to catch his breath. He could never take her beauty for granted and it always managed to punch him in the stomach at how beautiful she was.

“Ready to go home?” he asked her huskily.

She nodded and he drove off.

The children were still up when they reached home and were demanding bedtime stories. They were still in the playroom with toys scattered around them and as soon as their parents came into the room they let out screams and abandoned what they had been making as they rushed towards them. The twins rushed over to their mother while Christine jumped into her father’s arms.

“Okay one at a time,” Christopher said with a laugh as they began to speak at the same. He had left his jacket downstairs and was in his crisp light blue dress shirt and dark blue pants but that did not stop him from taking a seat on the carpet and pulling his daughter into his arms.

“I learned to spell a very big word at school today,” Christine announced importantly as she snuggled into his arms.

“Oh yes and what word is that?” Christopher gave her his full attention.

“Congratulations!” she announced while her brothers looked at her in fascination. “C.o.n.g.r.a.t.u.l.a.t.i.o.n.s.!” she finished with a round of applause from her parents and her brothers who did not understand everything but knew it called for applause.

“We colored some pictures and Miss Abigail and Miss Maria said that we did it okay,” Christopher Jnr. spoke up.

“It appears that our children are doing quite well.” Sophia commented, looking at her children with feelings of well being. Her mother was right. She had nothing to worry about.

  *****

He took off her clothes, his hands lingering on her skin. They had put the children to bed and read them the stories they wanted and watched them as they drifted off to sleep before having a glass of wine by the fireside in the living room. Then went upstairs to get ready for bed.

He turned her around to face him. She was so tiny, he thought as his fingers skimmed her shoulders and moved down to her arms. And so soft, like petals. He had taken off his shirt and was only wearing a thin merino and his pants. He reached up and pulled the pins from her hair, running his fingers through the heavy strands before clasping the back of her head and holding it in place. “I love you,” he said thickly, his body responding to hers. She had on a black bra and matching panties and stockings with garters and looked like a sexy siren. “I am afraid of losing you sometimes.”

The confession threw her and she stared up at him. How could he be insecure? She was the one who needed to be. “I am the one who is afraid of losing you,” she told him with a catch in her throat. She lifted her hands and rested them against the solidness of his chest and felt the racing of his heart. “I look at you and wonder when and if you are going to realize that you could do better.”

“I hate when you put yourself down,” his voice was husky as he lifted her chin to look down at her. “I have better.”

His head came down and he took her lips with his, pulling her closer to him and deepening the kiss, his mouth moving over hers with an urgency that was not lost on her. She curled her fists into his shirt as she returned the kiss and felt the fire licking through her body as she arched towards him.

His hands spanned her small waist, a waist that had been thick with his sons and he felt his erection growing against her. With an oath he eased her away from him, his breathing harsh, and his eyes hooded as he stared down at her. He picked her up and carried her to the bed, climbing the steps quickly and putting her down. He took off the rest of his clothes and joined her, running his hands over her body before going between her legs and parting them, palming her pubic area. Sophia moved against his hand restlessly. He moved the fabric aside and touched her, running a finger over her mound, watching her reaction and feeling the blood sped through his body at the parted lips.

Her hair was all around her, a direct contrast to the white sheets and he felt the desire she sparked within him. He entered with his fingers and felt the wetness there as he thrust inside her slowly before increasing the pace. He pulled out before she could come all over his fingers and used the wetness of her to rub onto the tip of his dick slowly and rhythmically, his eyes on hers.

“Tell me what you want,” he urged as he continued to slide his hand up and down the length of him.

“I want you,” she was feverish with the want of him, feeling the fire burning inside her. She wanted to feel him deep inside her to fill the need that was in her for him and even then she could never get enough of him. “I want to feel you inside me Christopher.”

When she called his name it always had the same effect: a gut wrenching desire that turned his flesh into liquid fire. He came over her and slipped the side of her panties aside entering her and going in deep. He lifted her arms h
igh above her head and bent to capture her lips with his as he moved within her. She joined him, her body restless and eager and matching his movements. He held her hands together tight when she just wanted to dig her nails into his shoulders or hold him around his neck to feel him closer against her.

He touched the core of her and she had long since accepted that what he did to her was something that was so intense that she could never be able to explain it. He released her hands and lifted her legs, bending them at the knees as he brought her up and over. He felt his testicles tighten and knew he was near to his release and from the shift in her body and the expression on her face he knew she was near as well. He clasped her legs around his waist and she put her hands around his neck as she felt the flash of desire through her body. He captured her cries inside his mouth as they both reached the crashing waves that flowed over them and engulfed them in a flood that had them lost inside it for a very long time.

Jeremy stared at the picture and studied each of the people in it carefully. He had cut it out of an old newspaper that he had seen inside the apartment he had rented. He had gone into the five thousand dollars to pay rent and buy food. Although he was pinching it, he knew it would not be long before he was without cash.

He had tried to call Lauren but the bitch had changed her number and of course Sheila was not taking his calls. He wanted to see his son, dammit! And as he looked at the family in the newspaper he knew he wanted something like that and he had been cheated out of it.

He stared at the two identical boys in the picture. Tang held one in his arms and Sophia had the other one and Christine was standing beside Tang with her little hand inside his. She looked like a doll and he had to admit that she was quite a looker. His daughter: who had no idea that she was his. They looked so happy together and looked like a real family but he knew that they were not because one of the children belonged to him.
