by Mike Morcerf
nothing came up.
I decided to give him my old square, where there was no misery or starvation; that square that was once loved by me.
He got very excited and grateful.
As a trade, I made him promise never to forget to water the flowers.
After that, I spent years without dreaming about anything.
My nights were emptier than all deserts of the world together.
My creativity was completely tied up.
As days would pass by, I would become more and more morbid.
One night, I was brought to the square once again.
The square was beautiful as ever before.
I felt like a child again!
I looked for that boy everywhere.
I would like to thank him for everything that he had done.
In my hunt, I stumbled and fell on wet mud. I remembered how warm it was.
Then, I found a huge house with trees reaching the sky and a little red rug lying close to the door.
I entered and tried to find that boy in countless rooms.
I suddenly faced him in a tight room.
He was giving me a pure and sincere smile.
When we went for a hug, I found out that he was just a mirror.
I never forgot to water the flowers ever since.
Day 35 – Thursday “The Sleepy”
The sleepy:
I have been watching that group of children from my window for two years already.
They get together at the same place and time very often.
They don’t smile so much. They just whisper.
“Hey kids! What are you talking about?”
“We are not talking, sir.”
“What are you doing, though?”
“We are conspiring.”
“Against whom?”
“Against everything.”
“In favor of what?”
“In favor of nothing.”
“How do you do that?”
“We cannot teach you, sir.”
“Why not?”
“It’s something that you have to learn by yourself.”
I stepped away.
I went home and lay in my bed.
How could I understand that?
...
What would be the first step?
...
It’s too late for me to think, learn, or understand anything.
...
...
But luckily, it’s not too late to take a sleep.
Good night.
Day 36 – Friday “A Woman, An Acoustic-guitar, And My Heart”
A woman, an acoustic-guitar, and my heart:
On a random day, after being tired of disappointments, I decided to throw my heart away.
I pulled it out of my chest while I was crossing a random bridge.
On a random evening, I threw my heart in a random river.
Then, I went home empty.
I was sure that I would no longer suffer due to my heart.
I had no more pain until a supposed ordinary night.
By that night, a mysterious woman carrying an acoustic-guitar found my heart in the river, tracked me down and brought it back to me.
Every night after that, she would enter my house using my heart as a pendant on her necklace, sit on the floor of my living room with her legs crossed, cover her breasts and belly with the acoustic-guitar, and then, play it for me all night long.
As the sun would come up, she would softly stand up and go away, carrying away her adorable song and my heart.
As the sun would go away, I would sit on my living room floor to wait for her.
She suddenly vanished.
I never saw her ever again.
My heart is still with her and produces a longing feeling so powerful that I can feel it even being far away from it.
I would like to listen to her music again, yet she will never come back.
Day 37 – Saturday “Meat Chest”
Meat Chest:
Get a little closer, child.
I noticed you are so tired.
Don’t rush to get older.
I will take your place.
Don’t ask where I have come from.
Rely on me.
I will protect you.
It’s time to smile.
I wish to see you happy once again.
Sorry if I leave some things behind,
But what you have been carrying is way too heavy.
Don’t get sad.
I will never leave you alone.
I will never leave you alone.
I will never leave you alone.
Day 38 – Sunday “Anxiety Monologue”
Anxiety Monologue:
“Well...”
...
“I’m going to smoke.”
“No!”
“I think I’m going to eat something instead.”
“No... Maybe I should stick with smoking”
“Oh, my lord... Can’t you decide?”
...
“Get emphysema or get fat?”
“That is the question.”
“This intonation sounded funny...”
“Thaaat is the question...”
“Thaaaaaat is the queestion...”
“Thaaat is... Thaaaaat’s...”
...
“Get off, I’m going to smoke.”
Day 39 – Monday “The Man Who Would Fall Apart Every Single Day”
The man who would fall apart every single day:
There was a man in this world with an unusual characteristic.
Every time he would go out from home, pieces of his body would get loose and eventually fall apart from him.
On his way back home, he would collect his lost pieces and would put them back in their place after getting home.
This was a painful process, but he couldn’t do away with it because he had to go to work every day.
When his body pieces weren’t stuck on him, they would start getting rotten, which would stop right after he put the pieces back.
After some time, his body started to get less efficient.
His body pieces were becoming harder to put back each day.
Some day, he got home feeling completely useless.
He sat on a chair to take a rest.
He has never stood up from there ever since.
Day 40 – Tuesday “A Child Who Learned How To Get Fed From A Solar Beam”
A child who learned how to get fed from a solar beam:
We could see that child every day begging for change on the streets.
That poor sad child wouldn’t let anyone pass by him without asking them for money.
His little stomach was very often just filled with hungry worms.
Some morning, the child woke up completely paralyzed.
He was extremely weak and malnourished.
He would not stand up on that morning before having a meal.
Somehow, a great miracle happened.
By accident, he learned how to get fed from a solar beam,
So he fed himself until he had enough strength to get up.
That was the last day he spent in that borough.
He would no longer need to beg for change.
The worms which lived inside his belly died of hunger and got naturally expelled.
The child became strong, full of stamina, and went away to see the world.
On his journey, he met other starving people and taught them his incredible technique.
Starvation was getting extinguished everywhere he passed.
He helped out a lot of people before getting mature.
When he became an adult, he started to promote a number of workshops teaching people how to get fed from solar beams.
He was a very well known and respected person, and his workshop tickets would be worth a lot of money.
He finally became a successful person.
He had so much money, almost more than what his bank account co
uld stand.
And because he had no more worries about having money to buy food, he decided to start eating again.
Therefore, he didn’t suspect that the years of non-eating atrophied his stomach, so he threw up everything he tried to eat.
After that frustrating attempt to eat, his capacity to get fed from a solar beam disappeared, as it also vanished from anyone else who knew how to do that.
Due to this occurrence, those people couldn’t get fed from either solar beam or regular food anymore.
All of them starved to death.
Day 41 – Wednesday “The Strategist”
The strategist:
In a very hidden place lies an enchanted woman.
She’s a strategist.
She lives in a place unreachable for the weak.
She surrounded the place with beasts and traps.
A lot of people know about her, but they’re convinced they will never get there.
They would never risk their precious lives for that.
She had covered herself with a mystery cloak,
And nobody can see beyond it.
There are some people who like hard challenges.
They’re getting ready to get there,
Even though it is something she doesn’t want to happen.
She will never let them get close to her.
Day 42 – Thursday “Virus”
Virus:
In a not too distant future, we’re going to have the possibility of learning things extremely quickly.
We’re going to have a connection onto our brain which will make it possible to install complex information right into our memory.
Almost all people of the world will be connected.
Therefore, something bad will happen.
A couple of revolutionaries, who learned programming using the old-fashion way to learn, will create a powerful virus and will upload it together with our standard brain update.
From then on, everybody who gets this update will become a savage aggressive creature and the virus will spread out through everyone who is part of this brain network.
When the network gets shut down, it will be already too late, because the lucid are going to get killed by the brutal creatures.
Even the revolutionaries will perish.
Yet they won’t expect it.
Day 43 – Friday “The Girl Who Would Save Her Words”
The girl who would save her words:
She was born as a regular baby, just as any other baby, but couldn’t make any sound.
Her parents wanted to check what was wrong with her, and all the results would point out that she is a normal, healthy baby.
She was growing,
