Always With You Page 20

by E. H. Lyon

Our mouths fuse for a warm deep kiss that gives us a preview of how this day is going to go. I already feel weak in the knees, and something tells me that I need my body in top form for this weekend.

“And the champagne is a housewarming gift because I think you should move here.”

“So, my three-month-max rule of me living with you is really up?” I ask, half-concerned and partly curious as I feel there is more coming.

“About that, I think you should move to your new house…” She waits before continuing on, and she must see my almost deflated look. “With us.” It comes out neutral.

I take a moment to register her sentence.

“As in we are going to move in together in our new home?” I double-check.

“Yeah. And maybe I would rent out or sell my house.”

  “That’s pretty permanent.”

She softly smiles. “We wasted so much time. So, hope you don’t mind, but we are moving to your place.”

I beam as I hold her flush and pull her up.

“Good. Finally, you make some smart decisions,” I reply sarcastically. “But we still get a sitter for co-parenting night, and I will pay her triple just so co-parenting night can happen in a hotel without interruptions every now and then,” I state very seriously.

She pretends to ask concerned, “Why, do you have big plans with someone? Tell me about this co-parent?”

“Very big plans, especially today. It involves me telling her I love her over and over as I make her come,” I answer in a husky voice and carry her to the kitchen counter and set her down as I stand between her knees.

She smiles at me, almost coyly. “I love you,” she admits with her eyes glittering and her face looking sweet and gentle like it’s happy to finally say those words aloud.

My body reacts in an instant. “I’ve been in love with you since the moment I laid eyes on you. I love you.” I dive into a deep kiss that cements us together. She returns the force of the kiss before pulling away, gleaming.

“And…” her fingers walk up my dress shirt along my chest, “Sam is with Lucas and Abby for the night if you still want to get away.”

“Great plan, and as much as I want to take you on the counter, I want to take my time with you.” My hands cradle her face.

“I mean, if you must.” She puts on the theatrics.

We walk to the elevator of a romantic hotel outside Aspen, hand in hand, and as soon as the doors close, I push her against the wall and let my hands find her waist. I kiss her fervently. Hungrily. She responds to me positively. I’m concerned we’ll barely make it to our room. But the ding of the elevator reminds us we’re lacking privacy here.

After a few moments of looking at each other with giddy grins, we get to the penthouse suite, and as the door closes, we grab each other and begin to let our mouths find each other.

“Wait,” I stop her and put a strand of hair behind her ear. “We have all night… no interruptions,” I remind her.

“Have to be honest. I don’t know what I’m more excited about, the fact we can sleep in or that I get to share a bed with you without interruption.”

“I seriously hope it’s sleeping in, because that is what I would choose,” I deadpan.

“You are so a father now.”

Her finger finds my mouth to shush and she gives me a sexy smile. “Give me five minutes,” she requests then heads to the bathroom.

  “Be quick, Jess.”

In that moment, my phone rings and I groan. It’s work. I take the call on the balcony as I admire the sun setting behind the mountains, and I try to wrap the call up as quickly as possible and let them know that I am not reachable for the rest of the weekend.

Hanging up the call, I turn around to go back in from the balcony. Throwing my phone to the side as soon as I see Jess lying provocatively on the bed with matching lace burgundy-colored bra and panties, and she is playing with her necklace around her neck. Her finger is hooked to invite me to join her.

Heaven dropped me the most beautiful image that I get to see for the rest of my life.

My grin is growing as I slowly walk to the bed and peel my shirt off in the process. I join her and she has me lie on my back as she straddles me. My heart picks up pace purely with the thought of what she wants to do.

“Hmmm think I might have plans for you,” she warns me as she slowly kisses down my chest and letting her eyes gaze up to me as she unbuckles my belt.

Before she can go further, I grab her arms and flip her onto the bed, so she is on her back and caged under me. My lips trail down from her neck to her breasts. Our fingers interlink as this is different to other times. We go slowly and savor every moment. This isn’t rushed or frantic like before. This is us taking in every inch of each other.

  It is emotional.

Her hands roam my chest and stomach as my lips explore the cleavage of her breasts. As if we are doing it all for the first time and want to rediscover every corner of our bodies.

She arches to me with a gasp when I pull down the fabric of her bra and take a nipple in my mouth, and I can feel she is soaked through her lace panties that my cock presses against. We grind against each other yet it doesn’t feel like we are close enough.

  We want more.

She lets her fingers sneak under the waistband of my briefs and she begins to pull them down and I help speed along that process.

Our bodies move against each other but are not yet connected. Getting up on my knees, I pull her body against mine so her back is to me. We could do this fast, but that isn’t tonight.

  Tonight is making love.

She can feel my erection against her ass as my fingers find their way between her folds to play with her bead. Her arms wrap around behind her to my neck as she moans my name in a humid tone. It sends me into pure satisfaction that it’s only my name she will ever moan that way again because I’m never letting her go. More pressure builds in my cock for her.

My finger slips inside her and I can feel she is drenched and ready. It makes me delirious because I did that to her. Her hands slide down my stomach so she can take my straining cock in her hand. I could come right now as her hand is so soft yet skilled. I groan into her ear. Quickly, we turn so we’re facing each other, and our arms embrace.

This is two people who are in love.

We kiss again before she lies on her back and opens her legs, because we want to connect in the deepest way possible. I move to grab a condom, but her hand stops my arm. “No. I want to feel you completely. It’s okay, I went on the pill.”

I want her even more when she says that, and my face must show it. She knew we were heading somewhere. And feeling her bare. It’s commitment, it’s the fucking utopia of pleasure.

“Good. Because I need to feel you,” I reply as I move to position myself. My tip finds her wet warm entrance and I enter her with ease. It’s home.

“I want this, I want you. Our family. I love you.” She gasps and it nearly sends me over the edge already.

“I love you. You’re mine. You have me,” I whisper. We move together and our bodies are sweating, our pulses racing.

  We synchronize.

I’ve never experienced something like this. So involved physically and emotionally.

We roll to our sides, but we remain connected with one another with our legs entangled as we move together, taking our time to approach climax. Staring into each other’s eyes and kissing deeply as we peak.

Feeling connected because it is her and me.

Our connection has always been there.

We settle intertwined in bed. Kissing my chest, her hair falls to the side as I sink us deeper into the mattress. We both stare at our fingers dancing with another.

“Are you happy with how we are now?” I ask. “You once said we don’t get an in-between. It’s either all in or nothing. We’re now all in. A little boy, living together, loving each other. We didn’t plan for us to end up like this when you agreed to one night with me.” I kis
s her forehead.

“Plans weren’t meant for us. And yes, I couldn’t be happier that we’re throwing it all in. You?” she mumbles into my chest.

“Very happy. Now let’s revisit the ‘plans are not meant for us and we are both all in’ topic.” I flop her to her back and come to lying on my side, propping my head on a hand. “So hypothetically we could spontaneously do something life changing and you would want that?” I give her a look that she knows is me with an idea and my soft smile should assure her it’s an idea she will like.

She props herself on a pillow and pulls the sheet up to cover her breasts—a slight disappointment. Eyeing me with a stare, I feel her pulse racing from the wrist still lying across my body.

“This is kind of crazy, but I have never been more certain. Yeah… yeah, I really would.” Her lips curve up and I move in for a deep kiss as our minds are both thinking the same thing.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

  Leo: Two months later

Parking my motorcycle, I head into Matchbox. Immediately, I see Jess chatting with Nate as he stands behind the bar. She is in a black cotton dress that goes to her knees and is tight in all the right places, as always turning heads. Already I want to take her home and undress her. Our son Sam is at home with the sitter due to my persistence with continuing co-parenting night as a ruse for date night.

My arms wrap around Jess from behind. “Can I steal this one away?” I ask Nate.

“Sure. She was just bossing me around with suggestions for what to serve tonight. It’s clear who rules your house, by the way.” Nate grins.

“One day, Nate, you will let a beautiful woman rule your house and you will fucking love it,” I remind him. He shakes his head, entertained, before heading to the other side of the bar.

Jess turns around in my arms to kiss me before we both take a stool to perch on. “You seem happy,” she notes.

I put one arm on the bar and my other hand finds the back of her chair. “Well, I keep replaying a story in my head,” I admit, and she looks at me, intrigued.

She smiles. “What story is that?”

“I once hooked up with someone here and we said we would do it only once and get it out of our system,” I recall, and she looks at me with her lips curving to a smile.

“How did that work out for you?” She gives a knowing look.

Stroking her face with the back of my hand, I say, “It failed miserably. She got pregnant and I didn’t know. But then I found out and my world changed. She was a little stubborn.”

“I bet she didn’t want to make it complicated.”

  I nod softly.

“But we ended up making it work.”

“Really?” she asks, arching an eyebrow.

“Yeah, so much so we were meant to be.” I look into her eyes.

“Sounds like a good song.” She has an inviting grin and lets her fingers find my arm.

“Maybe. She does like music and has a little music note on her thigh that drives me wild.”

“Oh? What will you do with someone like that?”

Taking her hand, I say, “Spend the rest of my life with her.”

Looking into her eyes, I place the ring in the palm of her hand and curl her hand around it. She lets her eyes shoot down to look at her hand then flick up to me and back to her hand. Her face begins to light up as she slowly uncurls her hand to find a ring. A ring that my mother had left for me, plus a few new diamonds thrown on.

Her eyes look at me with so much love, for what I assume is for me and not the diamonds.

“Yes. Yes, you will spend the rest of your life with her.” She sounds confident, speaks slowly, and looks radiant. Kissing me then pulling away as I place the ring on her finger.

“I’m so lucky you’re my husband,” she whispers in my ear before we kiss again.

We eloped a few weeks ago with nobody there except Jess, Sam, me, and Jake—who not only am I lucky is my attorney, but he quickly arranged a marriage license and married us since Colorado makes it easy to get hitched. Not that we were in a rush, just we felt it was what we wanted to do for our co-parent date that week. Holding true to the statement I made once that I had non-traditional ideas for our dates.

Jess looked stunning in a simple white lace dress that was short, off the shoulders, and was easy for me to rip off afterwards. We got a room at the hotel on Fifth where we opened a bottle of champagne, then lived in our hotel suite for the night. Hotel rooms seem to do something to us.

We love our friends, but big weddings are not our style. That night that led to Sam was our secret for a while, and it led to amazing things. We wanted the same for our marriage.

We are in our own world for a few minutes. When we come back to earth. I look at her. “This is the ring I wanted you to have when we got married. It was my mother’s, just had it redesigned. It wasn’t ready and we were in a rush,” I tease.

“It wasn’t a rush. Just we unexpectedly eloped. Because we don’t really follow anything to plan. And I love the ring and everything behind it. The man behind it.” She places a hand on my face.

“Ready for this?” she asks with her mouth curving. I take her hand in mine.

  “Here we go,” I reply.

She has a smile too wicked for our own good.

  Jess

Taking Leo’s hand, we head to the private room at Matchbox. Leo goes in, but I stay behind and head to Avery who is arranging the cake she brought from Smokey Java’s so we can take it in to the room.

“The cake is the perfect size, Avery. We’re nine in the end. A friend of Lucas and Leo’s is stopping by.”

“Perfect.” Avery grabs the special cake that has a dark covered lid over it and we head into the private area where the whole group is sitting, laughing, and enjoying the flow of drinks, because there are literally bottles of alcohol being passed around. We decided to all meet to celebrate Max and Harper’s upcoming wedding.

“Okay, dessert is here,” I singsong as we set the plates on the middle low table. We’re all sitting in a circle on lounge chairs around the fireplace, because Matchbox is not a dive bar and just elegant enough to pull off what we are about to.

“Who needs champagne? You may need it in a few seconds,” Leo warns as he pours from a bottle into someone’s glass.

Everyone is looking at Leo and me as I sit on his lap, in a relaxed state. The room goes silent waiting for us to say something as I look at Leo with a face of mischief.

The space quiets as Leo nuzzles into my neck. We both don’t know who should make the move.

“So, who wants champagne?” I ask, trying to avoid the question.

“Pretty sure Leo just poured a round,” Avery smiles, amused.

“What is it now? Or do we have to wait 18 months to figure it out?” Max jokes.

  Leo interlaces our ring hands.

“This is a night of celebration. Max and Harper are engaged,” Leo is pivoting the topic to make me squirm.

“Max and Harper are positive they want to hear the latest gossip,” Harper says excited and adjusts her posture in her seat bringing her hands together.

“And also, Nate is finally taking time off from Matchbox to enjoy a drink with everyone. Plus, Jake will be here soon. We are just happy everyone is here together,” I’m building this up.

Leo knows this and grunts into my neck. “Jess, come on,” he mutters under his breath.

“Oh geez. Please tell me it’s something good. I can’t handle anymore awkward check-ups,” Lucas admits with a grin.

“Are we celebrating another outcome from a hook-up between you two?” Max jokes.

“No, Max, I am not knocked up. Can’t you keep it classy?” I snipe.

“Does this have anything to do with earlier at the bar? You two seemed in another world,” Nate asks as he leans back in his chair.

“Maybe wedding bells?” Abby guesses as Lucas brings an arm around her.

Leo and I look at each other and smile.

  “We don’t hav
e wedding ideas or planning. Because we are already married. So, how’s the champagne?” I ramble at the speed of light.

Max looks at us with his jaw dropped and everyone falls silent. “Come again, what did you just say? You are what?” Max asks with an entertained puzzled look.

“Married,” Leo says as he casually drinks from his glass.

My face beams, and I show my hand with a shiny ring on it in the air.

Everyone takes a moment to let it sink in. Looking at each other for a clue what to do. A little shocked, to say the least.

“We have a wedding cake,” I offer awkwardly with my voice almost squeaking with a smile to reveal the cake under the lid. Simple chocolate cake with white icing. “I guess you guys couldn’t meddle, predict, or bet on this evening, could you?” I joke.

“We got married a few weeks ago. Simple, easy, just us,” Leo tells the group and kissing my hand in his.

  Everyone looks at each other.

Max lets out a laugh and breaks the silence. “You two are simple and easy? What the hell. Well, congratulations,” Max grins.

The room erupts with congratulations, pats on the back, hugs, glasses clinking.

This is how I wanted it to be.

After ten minutes the room settles again, and everyone heads into their own conversations.

Lucas grins and gets up from his chair to welcome Jake who just arrived. “It’s been awhile, man. How have you been?”

“Yeah. Had a crazy case load and Leo has been keeping me busy,” Jake says.

“What with work-work or secret weddings?” Lucas jokes.

“Why do you think I grabbed a glass of champagne when I came in?” Jake declares, holding up his glass.

I can’t help but notice when he looks at Avery that his mood changes and Avery looks away, seemingly oblivious. I make a mental note to ask about that another day.

As the night progresses, we all move outside to the closed-off part of the deck around the firepit.

I go sit in between Leo’s legs on the lounge chair as everyone is passing out a shot of tequila—Matchbox brand, of course.
