One Indecent Night Page 22

by Hargrove, A. M.

Of all the luck. I grabbed his hand and said, “I think it’s time to go and get the real lunch now.”

“We’ll have to do a grab and go because we have an appointment.”

  “An appointment?”

  “Yep.”

  “With who?”

“You’ll see.” He flashed a secretive smile. What was he up to?

We went through the drive-through of a fast food chain and ate in the car. Then we drove for about twenty minutes, until we pulled into a long drive. It ended at a huge home, where a car waited. I was super curious now.

  “Come on.”

He got out and walked around to help me out. Then an older woman got out of the other car. As we approached her, I felt utterly ridiculous.

Evan said, “Hi Marti, this is Sylvie West. Sylvie, meet Marti. She’ll be our realtor. Let’s go look at this house she wants to show us.”

He gave my hand a gentle squeeze as I gawked at him. House? What the hell was going on?

  Thirty-Nine

  Evan

“Sylvie, it’s wonderful to meet you. Evan has told me some of the things you both want in a home. Let me know what you love or hate about this place because I’m making a list, okay?”

Sylvie had the craziest expression on her face. It reminded me of what Piper had said—like she’d been hit on the head with a hammer. I nearly chuckled.

I leaned down and whispered, “It’s going to be okay, babe. I wanted a house in between Flower Power and the city. We needed to start looking.”

The only thing she did was nod like an automaton. Poor thing was shocked. We followed Marti up the three steps to the front door. It opened to a large foyer and a grand staircase, yet it wasn’t overly formal, which was what I liked.

  “Wow,” Sylvie said.

On either side of the foyer was a formal living room and a dining room. Both were huge and perfectly decorated. The paint was in neutral shades and the light fixtures weren’t fancy. I liked that too. So far, so good.

“These rooms are huge,” Sylvie said.

“They look larger because there isn’t any furniture in them,” Marti said. “The owners were transferred and had to move quickly.”

The living room opened into a huge den which then opened into an enormous kitchen.

“Oh, my God. This is a dream kitchen!” Sylvie ran directly to the kitchen and inspected it.

It had Carrara marble countertops, a huge island, white cabinetry, state of the art appliances, and reminded me a lot of my kitchen.

As those thoughts hit me, Sylvie said, “This kitchen reminds me of the one in the city.”

“I was thinking the same thing.”

  “I love it.”

“Say the word and it’s yours.”

Marti said, “Don’t you want to see the upstairs and outside first?”

We continued the tour and the master suite was fabulous. It was better than mine, if that was even possible.

“Evan, I can’t believe this.” It had a sitting room off of it, which could be a temporary nursery.

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

“Yes!” Her eyes were filled with excitement. I already imagined a tiny crib in there and a rocking chair too.

As I was daydreaming, Sylvie had wandered into the bathroom. She called out, “Evan get in here.”

When I did, she said, “This shower is like yours.”

I was surprised and happy to see it was. The bathroom was perfectly designed to be a his and hers. It had two of everything, including commodes, except it only had one gigantic tub. The shower itself was in one enclosure, but there were two of everything inside of it.

“No, babe, it’s double of mine. Let’s check out the closet.”

“Look, we don’t need any furniture.”

The closets had everything you needed in them. They were fantastic.

The other bedrooms, all five of them, were all ensuite, and all had big closets and fabulous bathrooms too, but not anything like the master.

A large laundry completed the upstairs, along with a cozy library.

On the lower level, there was a huge workout room, complete with all the exercise equipment one could desire. Marti said the owners didn’t want to take it because it was too cumbersome to move. I liked that. There was also a pool table as well. It was an excellent man cave.

“Oh, Evan, this house is unreal.” Sylvie beamed.

Marti said, “We know what you like, Sylvie. How about looking at the outside now?”

The back yard was private, our closest neighbor was not in sight and would never be. A large screened in porch led to a covered porch which had an outside cook area, a bar, and fireplace. There was a pool too.

I was sure Sylvie loved the inside, but I was in love with the entire place. I was ready to buy it now.

Marti asked, “Are you ready to look at the other two?”

“Can you show us the specs on them?”

She pulled out her folder and handed them to me. We looked them over, but neither of them had what this house had.

“Marti, excuse us for a moment, will you?”

  “Sure.”

Sylvie and I wandered off. “This place has everything that the others don’t. Do you like it?”

“I love it, but isn’t it expensive?”

“Don’t worry about the price, just answer me.”

  “Yes, I love it.”

“The location is perfect. It should only take you about what, twenty-five minutes to get to work? I know that’s a lot longer than you’re used to, but it’s better than driving in from Manhattan.”

“Twenty-five would be an easy drive.”

“I need to ask you something. Will you be able to stay here by yourself if I’m traveling?”

  “Sure, I’m okay with that.”

“This place will have a new security system like none other and it will be fenced and gated, but still, with a baby, I want you to feel safe here.”

  “I will. Plus, I have a gun.”

  “Say what?”

“Yeah, Dad taught us all to shoot, so I have a gun.”

“Sylvie, when our child gets older, that gun will be under lock and key. But that’s a conversation for another day. I’ll hire a security guard to stay with you if need be.”

“I’ll be fine, Evan,” she assured me.

“So you’re good with this house, or did you want to look at the others?”

“I love this one. The others didn’t have the master suite or the kitchen this one had. Or at least the pictures and plans didn’t show it.”

  “Let’s talk to Marti then.”

We told Marti, and she agreed about the other houses.

“Let’s put a contract on this one then. If everything comes back fine, as in the inspections, I want it.”

“That’s excellent. I’m thrilled for you. Have you done a pre-approval for your mortgage.”

“There’ll be no mortgage. I’ll be paying cash.”

Both Marti and Sylvie’s eyes circled like golf balls.

“Did I hear you say cash?” Marti asked.

“That’s correct. Let’s get this done ASAP. How soon can we get everyone on this?”

“Right after Christmas. Shouldn’t take long at all.”

“Great. Call me.” Marti agreed to get everything moving. “Let’s go, babe.” I grabbed Sylvie’s hand and we walked back to the car.

Her Christmas gift should be sitting in her parking lot by now. I hoped she liked it.

“Let’s time the trip between here and Flower Power.”

“O-Okay. I can’t believe you’re paying cash. That house was in the millions.”

“Yeah. Are you timing us?” I didn’t want to dwell on the money issue. It wasn’t a big deal to me. I earned it the hard way, invested it, was earning more, and it was growing daily. I had more than I would ever spend in this life and then some.

“Um, yeah. That house though. It’s amazing.”

  I
glanced at her and she was fingering the necklace I’d given her. My mouth curved into a smile. About twenty minutes later, we arrived at Flower Power.

  “Here we are.”

“Yeah, twenty-one minutes. But then again, not much traffic.”

“Is there a lot of traffic in the morning?”

“I’m not sure on these roads. But it can’t be that bad.”

“Sylvie, I’ll hire another driver for you.”

“No. I’d prefer to have a car at work. Besides, I like to drive. And then there’ll be daycare. I’ll need a car if the baby gets sick or something.”

“Daycare? You wouldn’t want a nanny?”

  “I hadn’t thought of that.”

“It would be much easier. I don’t want you to have to worry if the baby gets sick. If we have a nanny, you wouldn’t.”

“I’ll always worry. I did want the baby to go to preschool though, so she’s not behind when she starts real school.”

  “She, huh?”

“Yeah, I secretly think of nubbin as a she. I don’t know much about little boys.”

“I do. That’s where the daddy comes in.” I reached for her hand. We were just about to pull into her parking lot, and I wanted her Christmas present to be a surprise. I said, “Babe, I’ll do anything you want. But we can still have a nanny when she goes to preschool too.”

We parked next to the brand new shiny white Mercedes SUV with the big red bow on top.

“Look, Evan, someone’s getting a new car for Christmas.”

“They are indeed.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out the key fob. “Merry Christmas, love.”

  Forty

  Sylvie

What? A car? He couldn’t give me a car.

“Evan, are you nuts? You can’t give me that.”

“Too late, babe. It’s a done deal. Let’s go have a look.”

We got out and he opened the door. It was one of those magical openers like his where you only needed to be close to the door with the key fob and it automatically unlocked. I checked out the interior and it was gorgeous. It had that new car smell and I’d never owned a brand new car. Sure, my parents did okay, but I’d worked for everything I had. I wasn’t spoiled or considered rich by any means.

“This is gorgeous, but it’s too much.”

“Nothing is too much for you. Did you check out the back seat?”

“I haven’t finished looking at that fancy console. There’s a TV on it.”

He shook his head. “It’s a computer like mine. Now look in the back.”

I did as he asked. “Evan, you bought a baby seat!” I squealed.

  “I thought you’d never look!”

I opened the back door and the seat had a handle so it doubled as a carrier. “This is really cool.” I hadn’t even started investigating these things yet. I was impressed that he was way ahead of me. Jumping into his arms, I thanked him with kisses.

“The reason I bought this was not just for you to have a new car but because it would make it a lot easier on you with the baby. Your car is entirely too small. I checked out the back and getting in and out with the carrier would be too hard. So I figured you’d need an SUV.”

He was right, but he could’ve bought me a less expensive one. I wasn’t going to argue that point with him though.

“Thank you for being so thoughtful.”

“You’re welcome. Let’s take it for a drive so I can teach you everything about it.”

  “I’d love that.”

After about a half hour of parking lot instructions, we headed out. The computer had so many features on it, I doubted I’d ever use them all. The thing I loved best was the Bluetooth phone where I added all my contacts. I also loved the voice activation so I could just tell it what to do. I was the boss of my car, haha.

The ride was awesome. Evan told me how it would handle the snow in the all-wheel drive. It had an automatic traction control so it would be safer to cart the baby in.

“I’m wondering if you’re concerned for me or is it just for the baby?”

Suddenly he was kissing me. “Don’t ever forget this. You’re the most important person in the world to me. Yes, I’m concerned about our child, but you come first, Sylvie.”

Wow. He’d never used that tone with me before. I nodded and swallowed. “Okay.”

When we got back home, he said, “The title will arrive here. The car’s in your name.”

“You’re being way too generous. I don’t know what to say.”

“Just tell me you love me.”

“I love you so much, and not just for the car. It’s hard to remember what my life was life BE.”

“BE?” He looked confused and it was comical because Evan rarely was in that state.

“Before Evan. You’ve made me forget as in wiped those memories away. Maybe because life was so boring, and I never knew love like this.”

A smile that radiated love appeared on him. “Are you ready to go inside and show me some more appreciation?” he asked, boyishly.

“I am. And I have an idea of what I’d like to do to you too.”

We went inside, but I ran back to the car to pull off the giant red bow. “I drove all over town with this thing on.”

“I know. I was with you.”

Giggling, I said, “I wonder what everyone thought.”

“They envied you. They wanted to look like that smokin’ hot dark haired beauty driving the brand new SUV.”

  “Sweet talker.”

When we got inside, I showed him how much I appreciated my gift by walking him to the couch and giving my best Dyson-lollipop combo imitation ever. When I was finished, his lazy grin told me mission accomplished.

His glistening cock lay exposed on his lap, and it was still semi-hard. It made me a bit jealous to realize I’d lost out on having it thrusting inside of me.

“Come here.” He pointed to his lap. I straddled him and he kissed me. “You’re the best at that.”

“Thanks. I practice daily on a banana.”

  “You can’t be serious?”

“Yep. Every day before I eat one for breakfast.”

“Why don’t I ever see this phenomenon?”

Shrugging, I said, “It’s a private matter, kind of like masturbation.”

“Masturbation’s not private. I totally want to watch you do that. I bet you look so sexy with your thighs spread and your hand working your pussy. Are you noisy?”

  “No!”

  “Show me.”

  “I can’t.”

“Yes, you can. I’ve seen all of you. Surely you can do it. You’ve rubbed your clit when you’re on top before.”

“That’s different. Getting myself off is for me alone.”

  “Why?”

“Because.” There was no way I could do that with him watching.

“What about this? Why don’t you slide off those pants and start things off and I’ll finish them for you?”

“You won’t make me do it too long, will you?”

“Not if you show me what you do to get yourself off when you’re alone.”

  “Okay. But it’s nothing special.”

  “Everything you do is special.”

I was naked from the waist down and he said, “Everything off.”

  “But…”

  “Please.”

I stripped bare. “Can we go to the bedroom?”

  “Sure.”

I climbed onto the bed and spread my legs while he watched. This was completely awkward. “Do you mind looking the other way?”

Affection glowed from his eyes as a corner of his mouth turned up. “Babe, how am I supposed to watch if I do that?”

My tongue poked the inside of my cheek. “All right. Can you close one eye?”

  He only chuckled.

The only way to do this was with my eyes closed. There was no putting it off, so I began and fantasized that it was Evan’s fingers and not mine. My breathing sped up and when I felt his tongue on me, I sto
pped, but he grabbed my hand and put it back.

  “Keep on going.”

I kept up the motion, but wanted his cock, not my fingers, deep inside of me on the place that would get me off. I let his tongue be my master, as my desire mounted, and sought after my orgasm. He teased my clit until he coaxed me to climax. My nipples longed for his touch and my pussy begged for his cock.

“I need you, Evan. Now. Inside.”

He gripped himself and pumped it a few times, which was a total turn on, then slowly pushed inside me.

“Ahh, I needed this.” I wrapped my legs around him, crossing them at the ankles, and rocked against his pelvis. He was bearing the weight on his elbows as we continued this rhythm. Every time he pulled out, he would inch back in and I’d grind myself against him. This was different than our usual frantic, explosive sex we engaged in.

Under half-lidded eyes, he watched me as I did him. Our gazes were locked, and I noticed a sheen of perspiration on his forehead. It was an overwhelming sensation, watching this man I adored, making love to me like this. Sensuality oozed from him and I wished this could last forever, but I was too close to coming for that. His mouth dropped to mine and we breathed together as my inner muscles first fluttered, then contracted around him, bringing him over with me.

His hot breath was on my shoulder and then he was kissing me there. “I love you, Sylvie. ‘They slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered.’”

  “That’s so beautiful.”

“I’ve always thought so. It’s F. Scott Fitzgerald from This Side of Paradise.”

  “I’ve never read it.”

He ran a finger across my lower lip. “You’d probably find it a bit different from your dirty duke.” He smirked.

I poked his ribs. “The Raunchy Duke.”

“Yeah. I need you to read it to me.”

“Never.” I kissed him. “I love you too, Evan.”

“You think you’re distracting me, don’t you?”

  “Maybe.”

  “Where is it?”

  “What?” I asked innocently.

  “Your dirty duke.”

“He’s resting comfortably in my e-reader.”

“Let me meet him. You won’t have to read it to me. I just want to read the best chapter if you’ll show it to me.”
