King of Hearts: An Arranged Marriage-Mafia Romance (Rake Forge University Series Book 2)

“Would it be so terrible to be pregnant with my baby?” I whispered, pulling her hair back and kissing along her neck.
She rocked back into me. “Of course not. You know I want more.”
I gripped my erection and moved it to her still wet opening. “Do you want me to stop?”
I slowly pushed into her, one small inch at a time. She moaned in response.
“I need an answer.”
“I dare you to try, big guy…fill me up and see what you can do.” She gave me a sly smile, which only encouraged me.
So, I held her by the stomach, flush against my chest while I thrust into her. Her hand went to the edge of the desk as I pummeled into her slick heat, but there was no finding purchase there. I moved too recklessly and fucked her so hard that her entire body quaked against mine. She screamed my name as I thrust hard enough to move the desk forward.
We ended up going another round before we finally ended up on the floor, sweaty and spent. I looked over at the hair falling into her face and smiled.
“You’re my perfect ending.”
It sort of just tumbled out of my mouth, like it had been locked away somewhere in my chest.
Her lips curved, her face pressing against my skin while her finger ran along each groove of muscle in my stomach.
“Funny, I was just thinking about how you’re my perfect beginning.”
This girl.
Wrapping my arm around her shoulder, I brought her closer until our lips met. “Here’s to forever then…the beginning and the end.” I kissed her nose as she ran her hand up my torso. “And to all the happy moments in between.”
Scotty
“You’ve been in my employment for over ten years, Scott. I don’t want to do this.”
I exhaled, bouncing my leg over my knee, as if this shit wasn’t a big deal. The head of a family had died, garnering attention from every other head mafia member, in addition to Ivan’s two brothers back home. Shit was fucked ten ways to Sunday.
“Then don’t do it, Gino.”
My old friend’s eyes narrowed on me, as if I was fucked in the head. He wasn’t far off, but I ignored the look and focused on the gloomy room.
I hated these shitty meetings. So dark, and depressing. The curtains in the room were practically shut, only a slice of daylight bled into the murky room, but I was using it as an anchor. I knew what it was like to go underground, to not see the light of day for weeks on end. I knew, and I’d never take light for granted again, no matter how marginal.
“Then bring me your nephew, so I can deal with him.”
I shook my head. “Can’t do that.”
His bulky shoulders moved under a pained exhale. The boss of the Melonette family did not take no for an answer, and I knew I was pressing my luck, but Kyle wouldn’t survive the retribution. The fact that he was involved in the first place was my fault, there wasn’t a chance I’d let him burn for this.
“It’s been six months, I have allowed him the time to get the fuck out of here…but instead, he takes money out of my men’s pockets at the street races. He’s making a fool of us, so he will either heel by becoming an employee, or he will die.”
Gino leaned against an armchair closest to his desk and lit a cigar, once the zippo clicked shut, he narrowed his eyes again. He had crows’ feet, aging his blue eyes, his salt and pepper hair showed it too. My friend was getting old, and soon enough that pacemaker in his chest wouldn’t keep up anymore, and there’d be a gap. I didn’t like gaps. They were messy, and a fucking headache to deal with.
“You will bring him in, or I will take everyone out. Your sister, her sons, their women. Anyone who would miss them. Do you understand?”
Wrong fucking move. It was one thing to threaten my family, but if Juan even had a hint that his woman had just been threatened, he’d go to war…problem was, he wouldn’t survive this one. Not when Melonette would pull in every other family this side of the coast.
“I’ll get him.”
I gave Gino a firm nod and headed for the door, biting back the massive ‘fuck you’ that sat heavy in my chest.
No one threatened my family.
Fucking no one. I’d repay the favor to Gino, but in time.
I’d get my nephew, but I wouldn’t be bringing him back.
