Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One, Vol. 2 Page 18

by Kumo Kagyu

All the stuff on the cart was junk Cow Girl couldn’t really identify, but he said he was going to put it in his shed. It would take till nightfall, she assumed. And she would help him.

If that empty outbuilding were to hold even a few of his own possessions in it, she thought that would be a very good thing.

If they worked until nightfall, they would certainly be hungry. They would need to eat.

She would warm up some stew, and then she and he and her uncle could all eat together.

That struck her as an excellent idea.

“Okay, then,” she said, putting extra strength into pushing the cart along. “When we do my jobs, then I get to pull.”

And you help. He was silent for a moment, but then replied, “Understood.”

“Uh-huh.” She nodded and gave another shove.

  The farm was just ahead.

  AFTERWORD

  Hullo! Kumo Kagyu here.

Did you enjoy Goblin Slayer: Year One, Vol. 2?

Maybe it feels a bit like Year Two or The Long Halloween.

So would that make Volume 3 Dark Victory? It’s a riddle.

In any event, this was another story in which goblins appeared, and so Goblin Slayer slayed them.

That’s everything that matters to him, it’s all he can see, so it’s all he does.

It’s not as if he didn’t meet anyone in this volume, but living is difficult, isn’t it?

One step at a time, we’ll eventually arrive at the main series, but the road to get there is long.

In other words, this is what “experience points” are like… That’s what I’m thinking.

I tried my best to write a story that evoked that sort of feeling, and if you enjoyed it, that would make me very happy.

Once again, I was only able to complete this work thanks to the help of many different people:

To my gaming buddies and creative friends, thank you very much as always.

To Shingo Adachi, who handled the illustrations. Thank you for designing “Arc-san”!

To Kento Sakaeda, who does the manga adaptation—we’ve just reached the climax of Volume 1, and it’s incredible!

To all the admins of all the summary blogs, thank you so much for your continuing encouragement.

I didn’t exactly grow up to be an astronaut, but I’ve done my utmost to bring pride to my hometown.

To everyone in the editorial division, thank you as ever for all your help. I owe you a lot—again.

To all the people I’ve never met but who were crucial in producing and working with this book, thank you very much.

I know the series is called Year One, but if I get an opportunity, I’d love to go on and do a third volume. I’m sure it will also entail goblins whom Goblin Slayer has to slay.

If that book ever does come out, I hope you’ll pick it up.

  Till next time.
