Ellie went back to work as soon as she felt she was healed. Honestly, I didn’t think she was fully one hundred percent. Another heated conversation between the two of us, and she was at work.
Never in my life had I given in to anyone. Playing by my own rules got me to where I was today. Ellie, though. She was the only one I had a damn hard time saying no to.
“Hey, babe. Beer?” Ellie said as I sidled up to the bar.
“Yeah. How’s your day goin’?”
She grabbed a Bud, flipping off the top and sliding it to me. I took a hard pull as she leaned her hip into me.
“Good.” She wiped her hand on a towel. “Business is steady. No complaints.” Her smile lit up the space. I loved that about her. Hell, I loved everything about her.
“You ready to go home?”
Her smile widened. “No. I have shit to do.” I made a move to speak, but she raised her finger. “I know, Killian. You want me home, but I have a business to run. I don’t tell you how to run yours. You don’t tell me how to run mine.”
Yeah. I fucking loved her. “Agreed.”
Her look turned puzzled. “Really? Just like that?” She snapped her fingers together.
I took a pull off my beer. “Yeah, Ellie. Just like that.”
“And here I thought we’d have a fight in the middle of the bar.”
A chuckle escaped. “We don’t fight. Argue is more like it, but only because you’re stubborn as hell.”
Marybeth came with a drink order, and Ellie took it. “I’m just as stubborn as you are, Killian Graham.” She took off and filled the drinks.
Watching her bend over in her tight jeans was a sight. She even shook her ass a bit knowing I was watching her.
Yeah, I took my damn sweet time coming around to claim Ellie. Time that was wasted. Never again would I waste a single moment with her. Every moment was something to treasure.
The night went on as Ollie, Vane, Diesel and Bri came in. Ellie came down to our end to talk when she had time. Luckily, that was a lot.
She was keeping close watch on Bri, and it didn’t escape me that Ollie was too. Except they stayed on different ends of the bar. Not my business to get involved with.
It was eleven at night when I did something very out of character. Didn’t know what happened to me, but fuck it.
I held out my hand to Ellie and she took it. Wrapping her in my arms, we started swaying to the music.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“Dancin’ with ya.”
“You dance?” She pulled back to look in my eyes.
“Fuck no. Just an excuse to hold you tight.” To this she smiled, made her body flush with mine, and rested her head on my shoulder.
Loved having her wrapped around me tight. This was how I could spend the rest of my life and never, not ever, feel unhappy.
Leaning into her ear, I whispered, “Love you, Ellie. With everything inside of me.” I reached in my pocket and pulled out the solitaire diamond and slipped it on her finger. “You’ll marry me.”
She pulled back with tears in her eyes, but there was a fire as well. “Seriously. You’re just going to tell me that I’m marrying you? There’s supposed to be a question in there somewhere.”
“No question to ask. You’re mine. I’m yours. We’re just going to seal the deal and make it legal.”
“You’re lucky you just told me you loved me before ordering me to marry you.”
A smile tipped my lips. “That was all it took.”
“Shut it.”
“Love you, Ellie. Will you marry me?” I asked as the tears that welled up started to fall.
“Yeah. I love you too Killian.”
Leaning down, I kissed her lips, taking it deep and long, not giving two shits about the cheers that carried throughout the bar. This place was her second home and would be mine now too. She was my home.
She was all I’d ever need.

Epilogue 2
Bri
Damn stubborn man. Why me? Not only did I have my two brute brothers on my tail, but Ollie was right there next to them.
There had been a daily battle with this man on my end. Whether I should strangle him or kiss him. I voted strangle most of the time.
It started the very first night we’d met.
My dumbass was at a party—somewhere I shouldn’t have been—and I got into some trouble. My best friend Ellie came to get me away from said bad situation, and when we went to leave, a huge man with arms like tree trunks stopped me in my tracks.
I kicked and bit, trying to get out of his grasp, but he was so strong.
Fear was pumping my urge to fight as I tried to get away. The guys at the party were not good, and I feared this man wasn’t either.
Come to find out, he worked for Killian Graham, a boy, now man, that Ellie and I went to high school with.
Long story short, he took me home and slept on the couch to keep guard. Except, that wasn’t entirely true.
It wasn’t until I laid in my bed, the room pitch black, that it hit me. The fear of the night. Everything that had happened. From the men there screaming at me. To the one who almost fell out of the window trying to get me. Then to the big scary man who captured me.
Delayed reaction, I guessed.
Because when it hit, it hit hard.
That was the reason Ollie wound up in my bed … the first time.
