“Mason couldn’t decide which one he wanted to hold him,” I laughed.
Tor opened my door and grabbed my hand. “Yeah, he seemed pretty enamored with both of them, though I think you’re still his favorite girl.”
“Is that so?”
Tor nodded his head and stepped close. “You’re my favorite girl too.” His arm snaked around my waist, and he pulled me close. “I missed you today.”
“You were just at work, Tor,” I whispered.
“I know, but I still missed you.”
“None of this seems real. I’ve dreamed of being like this with you, but now that I have it, it still feels like I’m dreaming.”
“Shh, Babe. None of this is a dream. It’s as real as it can get.” His hand slid up my back, into my hair, and his lips were on mine.
He didn’t hold back.
He didn’t care that we were standing in front of Mabel’s house.
He kissed me hard, and he kissed me good. “Dinner, and then I’m taking you back to my house,” he panted against my lips.
I nodded dumbly, once again speechless. He tucked me in the car, and I touched my lips with my fingertips as I watched him round the front of the car.
Tor Kestrel had just kissed me in public where anyone driving by could see.
Tor slid into the driver’s seat and put his hand on my thigh. “Babe, breathe.”
I inhaled deep and laughed. “Who would have thought breathing would be something I would forget?”
“I’m taking it as a compliment.” He squeezed my leg and leaned in for a quick kiss. “You hungry?”
I was, but probably not for what he was talking about. “I could eat.”

Chapter Nine
Tor
“This is where you live?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s nice.”
“You seem surprised by that.” I didn’t live in the same ritzy neighborhood as Mabel, but I didn’t live in Lincoln Ruins. It was a two-story house with three bedrooms and two baths. I had moved in two months after Mason was born, and it was where I called home.
She looked over at me. “I’m not. I guess I just didn’t…” She bit her lip and looked down at her feet.
I laughed and grabbed her hand. “You didn’t realize tattooing made me money.”
“What? No!” she gasped.
“You didn’t realize it made me good money.”
She cringed. “Maybe?”
“I’m one of the best tattoo artists in the city, Stella. People pay me good money to draw on them and inflict pain for hours on end.”
“Well, color me surprised. I had no idea you were that amazing at your job.”
I pulled her to the front door and beeped the locks on the Charger. “If you’d let me have a crack at that virgin skin of yours you would see just how amazing I am.”
“I’ve thought about it before, but I’m kind of a wimp.”
“Doubtful.” I unlocked the front door and pulled her inside. “I’ll get you in my chair one day.”
“Doubtful,” she mimicked.
I flipped on the living room lights and dropped my coat on the bench by the front door. “Drop your stuff here and make yourself at home. I’m gonna grab a beer. You want something?”
She unzipped her coat and shrugged it off. “Water?”
“Coming right up.”
We had eaten dinner at a small Italian place, and we were both stuffed full of breadsticks and lasagna. On the way home, we had put the phone on speaker and talked to Mason before Mabel and Imogen tried to put him to bed. From the sounds of the fun they were having, that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
“I love this picture of you and Mason,” Stella called.
“Which one?” I grabbed a glass from the cabinet, filled it, then grabbed a beer for me. I walked into the living room to see Stella standing in front of the fireplace mantel where there were pictures of Mason, and a couple of me with him.
“Where you have your arms around him.”
I stood beside her and handed her the glass. “Would you believe that not even two minutes before I took that picture, he was crying his eyes out because I wouldn’t let him eat grass?”
Stella laughed.
“Daddin’ ain’t easy, Babe.”
“Oh, trust me, I know. Babysittin’ ain’t easy either. Mason is a downright prince most of the time, but he definitely has his moments where he sits in his playpen and cries it out. I’ve also had the no eating grass talk with him. He’s not ready to listen yet, I see though.”
“He’ll get it eventually. You’re hard to resist, Babe.”
She glanced over at me. “I think you might be full of crap, Tor.”
I grabbed the glass of water she hadn’t even touched yet and set it on the mantle. “Not a fan of you telling me what I feel is crap.” I set my beer next to it, then wrapped her in my arms.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m gonna silence all your doubts, all the bullshit in your head, and anything anyone has ever said to you about not being good enough for me.”’
“Tor, I th-.”
She didn’t need to say anything more. Everything she was about to say was just going to be crap. I pressed my lips to hers and felt her instantly relax under my touch. My hand left her waist, tugged up her shirt, and felt the heat of her smooth skin beneath my fingers.
“Tor,” she sighed. “Maybe we’re moving too fast.”
“I plan to move so fast you get dizzy, Stella.” I caught her lips in another kiss and she didn’t resist me at all. She wanted this as much as I did, but she was too scared to jump. “Let go, Babe,” I whispered against her lips. “I’m here to catch you.”
“But what if… what if this doesn’t work?” She opened her eyes, and I could see all of her fears shining back at me.
“It’s gonna work, Stella. It’s gonna work because I see how hard and deep you love. The love you have for Mason, the endless hours of studying and school you do to get yourself and Mom out of Lincoln Ruins, the fact that even though Lexi was just a straight up bitch to you and you still somehow managed to love her tells me that you are way too good of a person for me, but if you think you wanna be with me I’m not going to say no. Mason needs you in his life. I need you in my life.”
“None of what you said is amazing, Tor. Those are things anyone would do.”
I shook my head. “Lexi didn’t do those things. The one person who should, didn’t. You’re the best thing that happened to Mason and me, and I’m not letting you go. You’re stuck with us.”
“I think you’re completely wrong about me.” She bit her lip and sighed. “But I’m not going to tell you to go away because I’ve been in love with you since the day you walked into my house and said hey my name is Tor.”
“It was a miracle I even remembered my name. You were so beautiful I was speechless for a second.”
“I know that feeling,” she mumbled.
I pressed my hand to her back and pulled her close. “I also have a little bit of good news.”
“Oh yeah?”
“My work schedule is changing.”
She furrowed her brow. “How is that good news?”
“Because that means you can still take your internship, and also watch Mason. I gotta work a little later some nights, but if it means you get to do this internship it’s worth it.”
Her jaw dropped. “Tor, you didn’t need to do that. I was going to find a different one.”
I shook my head. “You’re not going to settle, Babe. This is the internship you want, and this is the one you’re going to have.”
“I don’t know what to say,” she whispered. “I can’t believe you did that for me.”
“Believe it, Babe. I’ll do a whole hell of a lot more than just move my work schedule around for you.”
She laid her head on my shoulder and sighed. “I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to pay you back for being so good to me.”
>
“I can think of a few ways you can,” I rumbled lowly. “You think we can stop all of this talking, and just be together right now?”
She giggled and nodded her head. “I guess we can give it a try.”
“I’ll take it.”

Chapter Ten
Stella
I didn’t resist.
I didn’t come up with some dumb reason why he shouldn’t be kissing me.
I didn’t do anything but kiss Tor with everything I had.
Tor’s mouth left mine and kissed a trail across my cheek, and down my neck. He pulled away for a second, pulled his shirt over his head, and tossed it on the floor. “That’s better.”
He looked me in the eyes, and I felt my heart thundering in my chest. His eyes weren’t distant or interested. They were something I had never seen or felt before. “Tor… I… I love you.” The words were out of my mouth before I even had a chance to rethink them.
“Good God,” he breathed. “It feels like I’ve waited a lifetime to hear you say those words to me.”
“It feels like I’ve loved you in secret for a lifetime.” My heart stuttered to halt when he took a step back, hunched over, planted his shoulder in my stomach, and lifted me up in the air. “Tor,” I squealed.
“Hush, Stella. You can’t say shit to me like that and expect to keep your clothes on.” He headed in the direction of the kitchen, and after that it was a bumpy ride up the stairs.
“I couldn’t have walked?” I gasped when he reached the top of the stairs.
“Nah, to far of a distance for you to change your mind.” He headed down a dark hallway, took a left, and then flipped on a light. I sailed through the air and landed on a soft bed covered in a black comforter.
“Sweet Jesus,” I muttered. “Think I can get a tour of your house later and not be over your shoulder?”
He climbed on the bed with me and covered my body with his. “Yeah, but that’s not gonna be for a while. I got a long list of things I wanna do with you, and you’re not leaving this bed until I’ve checked off all of them.”
My eyes traveled over his chest trying to see everything at once. I knew that Tor’s arms were covered in tattoos but seeing him with his shirt off shifted my mind into overload. “I’m gonna need at least two hours for you to just lay down and let me look at all of your tattoos.”
He caged me in with his arms and pressed a kiss to my lips. “You’re welcome to stare, Babe, though I think you might be a little distracted for the time being.” He kissed me slow and sweet, and all thought of pursuing his tattoos were replaced with needing to feel his body against mine.
His mouth broke from mine, and he sat back on his haunches. His hands went to the waistband of my jeans, and he undid the button. He yanked me up, grabbed the hem of my shirt, and tugged it over my head. In one swoop he pulled the cup down on my bra and his mouth was on my nipple before I could blink.
I arched my back, pressing my breast into his mouth, and planted my hands on the bed behind me.
“Oh God,” I breathed. His tongue swirled around my nipple while his hands reached behind me and unhooked my bra.
His hand went to my other breast and squeezed it tightly. “Mine,” he growled against my skin.
“Yes, please, yes,” I sighed. I was Tor’s long before he just said it.
His mouth left my nipple, and I gasped at the chill of the air against my wet skin. He slipped off the bed and stood. I leaned forward and unbuttoned the buttons of his jeans. I pulled them all the way down and saw him.
All of him. “Uh, have you not heard of underwear?”
Tor planted a hand on my shoulder and pushed me back onto the bed. I heard the rustle of his shoes and pants coming off, then his hands were on the zipper of my pants. He jerked them down my legs, and then he was back on top of me. “Heard of it, don’t wear it.”
“So, this whole time when you come over with Mason you aren’t…” My eyes dodged down to his dick. “...you know.”
“My dick is pressed against your leg right now, Babe, so I think you can talk about me going commando without blushing.”
Could I? It still hadn’t fully sunk in that Tor wanted me, and now I was just supposed to accept the fact that he didn’t wear underwear. “I suppose it’s nice to have the easy access.” Yeah, that was what came out of my mouth.
“Only when you’re around, Babe. Otherwise I don’t even think about it.” His mouth went back to my nipple, and my fingers delved into his hair.
His mouth slid over my collarbone and up my neck. His hand at my waist went to my ass, and he squeezed. I let go of his hair and rested my hands on his shoulders. He blazed a hot trail of kisses up my neck and across my cheek. I turned my head and captured his lips with mine. It had been too long since I had felt his lips against mine.
Our tongues danced together, and my eyes flitted shut. His hand cupped my breast, his thumb sliding over my nipple. “So responsive,” he gasped.
Tor could be standing on the other side of the room not even paying attention to me and my body would be ready for him.
I lifted a knee to leverage myself when his hips fell between my legs, and I felt the full length of his dick resting against my mound.
My hand went to his ass, and I smiled against his kisses. “What the hell are you smiling about, Stella?”
“Do you have your butt tattooed?”
“Yeah.”
I shouldn’t have been surprised by his answer since the rest of his body was so heavily tattooed, but I had really thought he was going to say no. “What is it?” I whispered.
“You can look later.” He pressed his lips to mine. “Much later.”
I was good with that.
His hand slid down my body and cupped my pussy. “The question is just how ready are you for me?” His finger slipped inside me and he growled deep. “Soaked.”
His lips lingered against mine as he stroked my clit slowly, drawing me closer to the edge. “Tor,” I gasped.
“I think you’re more than ready for me, Babe.”
That was an understatement. I was fifteen seconds away from coming all over his hand.
His hand left my mound, and he pulled my legs up by my knees. I planted my heels into the mattress, and his dick nestled against my pussy. “You’re mine, Stella. There’s no going back. I can’t give you up.”
I didn’t want him to. I would do any and everything to keep Tor in my life. I loved and needed him as much as my next breath.
He slowly pressed into me, and I arched my back. “Please, Tor.”
He drove into me and held me captive.
I was powerless to anything Tor wanted to do to me. All I wanted to do was take whatever he gave me.
He thrust hard, fast, and deep. His hand sought out my clit and worked me while his lips found the sensitive skin of my neck.
“Tor.” His named ripped through my lips and he kissed me wildly.
My hands were all over his body as he plunged deep in me. I bucked my hips up to meet him, both of us trying to find the ending we both craved.
“Holy fuck,” he gasped. “Just like that, Babe.”
I was out of control, moaning and panting, needing everything all at once. His mouth went to my ear, and he said three words that threw me over the edge. “I love you.”
I was never going to be the same.
Tor Kestrel had just broken me for any other man. He was stuck with me for the rest of his life.
“I love you, too,” I whimpered.
We both exploded, our bodies moving together. I moaned deep into his mouth as my body convulsed beneath him.
He collapsed on top of me, and I melted into his weight.
“That was amazing,” he rasped.
It was. It was the best thing I had ever felt. “Not too shabby.”
His body shook, and I knew he was silently laughing. “Way to keep me grounded, Babe.”
“Don’t want you getting a big head or anything.”
He rolled over onto his side, taking me with him, and I laid my head on his chest. “I’m hungry.”
“I’m too tired to move,” I mumbled.
“You stay here, and I’ll find something to bring back to bed.”
I lifted my head a fraction, and he slid out from under me. “Wait,” I called. I lifted up on one elbow. “I need to see your butt.” I needed to know what one would get tattooed on their butt.
“You’re just gonna laugh, Babe.”
I twirled my finger for him to turn around. “I’ll be the judge of that.”
He shrugged and slowly turned around. “Just remember you have to love me no matter the weird tattoos.”
“Wait.” He stopped turning and looked down at me. “You have more than one weird tattoo?”
“It all depends on what your definition of weird is.”
That didn’t sound very promising. “You show me the butt, you get food, and then I get to look at all of your tattoos.”
“Sounds like a fair trade.” He finished turning, and I was face to face with a pocket.
He had tattooed a jean pocket on his ass. “Were you drunk?” I asked. That could be the only explanation for what I was seeing.
He looked over his shoulder with a smirk on his lips. “How’d you guess? It was my twenty-first birthday and I somehow got talked into it.”
I wasn’t sure anyone could talk me into getting a pocket tattooed on my ass. “I have to say, this is a good thing.”
“Really?” he asked, hopeful.
“Yeah. I thought you were perfect before this, but now I know you have an absolute horrible tattoo on your ass. It kind of takes the pressure off of me.”
Tor bent over and grabbed his pants off the floor. “We got one thing or another we regret, right?” He pulled his jeans on, tugged up the zipper, but left the buttons open.
“Yeah, but yours is just there for me to see… all the time.”
“All the time, huh? That must mean you actually do plan on staying around for while then.”
I fell back onto my pillow and sighed. “I kind of have to. I love Mason.”
