  All Your Love

Cassie Slazak has been living a lie for a decade.

As the secret lover of Bianca Durand, the daughter of Massachusetts’ newly elected governor, Cassie wants Bianca to tell the world about their long-term affair. But when Bianca gets engaged to a respected lawyer, who’s admired by Bianca’s parents, Cassie’s dreams are crushed. She not only rejected her high school sweetheart, and the small town life she adored but her Catholic faith for a woman who has controlled her for too long.

When Cassie’s grandmother falls gravely ill,

she returns to Delpoint, Pennsylvania to pay her last respects to the woman who raised her. Not only will she confront her past, but Freddie Koeman, the one Cassie betrayed for a possible future with Bianca.

  .

Bianca uses threats and emotional blackmail

to keep Cassie under her thumb, forcing Cassie to choose whether to spend the rest of her life in the shadows, accepting the scraps of love and attention from her secret lover or try to recover her dignity and the love of a woman who has always lived true to herself. If she still wants her…

Thank you for taking the time to reading All Your Love. I hope Cassie’s story, and her search for forgiveness with Freddie, including finding her faith she has lost because of her guilt is something you were able to connect with as a reader. All Your Love is Cassie’s redemption story, and shows how acceptance from her family and community, especially her priest, can set her free from her self-imposed suffering.

  Dedication

To those who have loved, and loved hard, not knowing if their love would be returned.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

  Chapter One

We should have been mingling with the guests instead of in some dingy, dusty janitor’s closet, kissing and groping one another. But each pull of my best friend’s mouth made me forget all decorum and the fear we would get caught. I tasted merlot on her lips. Bianca loved her wine and had helped her mother pick out a selection of their best bottles for tonight.

I moaned, bumping the back of my head against the wall behind me. Bianca licked the side of my throat as she hiked up the skirt of the floor-length black chiffon evening gown she’d recommended I wear for tonight’s celebration—the inaugural ball honoring her father, the governor-elect of Massachusetts. I would have never expected her to do something so naughty. In the ten years I’d known her, since college, she’d made sure we kept our relationship away from prying eyes. The only daughter of Bradford and Noel Durand was obligated to keep up public appearances. Meaning their darling daughter had to keep her love and attraction for her closest friend, Cassie Slazak, a secret, locked away in some closet like we were in now.

“What’s wrong? You don’t like the way I touch you?” Bianca asked, her breath a whisper in the middle of my throat, brushing the diamond heart pendant necklace she’d given me when we graduated. It never left my neck—proof I belonged to her. She scraped her teeth on my skin while she cupped me through my satin bikini briefs, causing another moan to leave me. She knew how to touch me in all the right ways. I ended up climaxing sooner than I wanted to.

“Nothing’s wrong.” I kissed her mouth hard.

She twisted her face to the side and thrust her fingers upward. My toes curled, and I gasped from the sharp pleasure. It had been over a week since we had been together. Both of us had been busy volunteering long hours as her father’s campaign came to a close.

“Not too hard,” she warned in a teasing tone and bit my bottom lip. I wanted to return the favor, but she would get irate if I was too rough. How would she explain a bruised or swollen mouth during such a classy affair?

“Hurry up…I can’t last….” Gasping, I arched as she slid her hand inside my underwear and pushed her fingers in deep.

“That’s it, ride my hand,” she ordered and tugged down the bodice of my strapless dress to suck my nipple.

She muffled my scream by slapping her mouth over mine. I jerked once and then twice, allowing my orgasm to rush over me. The pleasure came in one swift wave, too fast to appreciate the sensation to the fullest but just enough to take the edge off. I held Bianca close, sucking carefully on her lips, thanking her with ev
ery kiss for our latest, heated rendezvous.

Sighing, she released me and scooted up on the small metal table next to us. She flung off her heels and lifted her skirt. Her arousal wafted up, filling my nose. Now she would expect me to return the favor she had bestowed upon me. I would, without complaint.

“Kneel on those towels.” She spread her legs open, showing how bare she was underneath.

In private, Bianca was generous with her kisses and touches, but going down on me wasn’t something she enjoyed. I didn’t mind. I preferred her tongue in my mouth. Her fingers did a good enough job.

“Be quick. Daddy is going to give his speech soon.”

As soon as I knelt, she grabbed my head and thrust my face between her legs. Her grip stung my scalp but made me wet again. I stuck out my tongue and licked up the inside of her smooth leg and began pleasuring my lover.

I made her come in less than five minutes. This time I quieted her with my palm over her lips as she screamed my name.

We sat on the floor, recovering. Bianca and I held hands. I squeezed her every time a ripple expanded in my core. She rested her cheek on my shoulder and swept her thumb along the side of my hand. Soon we would separate and pretend our heated encounter had never happened. It was one of many repeated through the year, and would continue without end.

“You were fantastic, Cassandra.” She traced my cheek and rubbed our noses together. She was the only one who called me by my full name. That had been the case since the day we met at Boston University during freshmen orientation.

I twined a strand of strawberry blonde hair lying on her shoulder. She’d kept her hair down instead of up for tonight. I loved playing with it, so soft and silky and straight, unlike my dark corkscrew curls, probably one big frizz ball by now.

She flicked her hair over one shoulder and tugged on it. Strain lines appeared in her forehead, and she inhaled deeply through her nose. Uh oh. Not a good sign.

“You don’t regret what we did? A janitor’s closet isn’t the most romantic of places, but we had fun. Right?” I waited for her to deny it, even suggesting it was my fault to have a quickie, though she had tugged me in here.

She closed her eyes and exhaled once. When she opened her eyes again, her pupils dilated. I couldn’t look away from the unique violet of her irises.

She kissed me gently, rubbing the pad of her thumb across my chin. “I wish we could…oh, never mind.”

“You wish what?” I asked, anxious for her answer. A small glimmer of hope flared inside me. Maybe she was sick of hiding, and wanted us finally to be out in the open. Now, with her father elected governor, nothing was stopping us. But, then again, her parents and brothers and their wives would—

She gripped my chin, the lazy light in her eyes transforming into angry sparks. “Tell me you love me.”

I swallowed hard. We rarely talked about our feelings for one another. I could count the number of times I’d told Bianca I loved her on one hand. She said it even less. It hurt her too much to hear me say it, which didn’t make sense to me. But what we didn’t say in words, we made up for it with actions. Whenever we had a moment to ourselves, we couldn’t keep our hands off one another. That had to count for something.

“Say it. Please.” She tightened her grip.

Please was a word she didn’t use too often. She must be serious.

I lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. “I love you.”

Her shoulders slumped, and she smiled, showing sparkling white teeth.

“Thank you. I needed to hear it.” She kissed me but didn’t give those words back.

My belly clenched, but not in a good way like when Bianca brought me in this room and made me fall apart in her arms.

She rose to her feet, wiping away the wrinkles on her skirt. I used the wall for support to stand, my legs shaky. She stood a good five inches over me at almost six feet. She’d had many opportunities as a professional model because of her stunning beauty and amazing bone structure, as well as maintaining a constant size four.

I was on the pretty side, or so Bianca had told me many times, even with my pug nose and too-rounded chin, not counting the breakouts and acne I had during certain times of the month. So depressing at twenty-nine to still have acne, unlike Bianca who had clear skin.

I slipped on my ballet flats while she pulled on her high-heeled sandals, which added to her height. Heels didn’t do my feet any favors. I’d worn them when we attended some other political event for her father and ended up with horrible cramping in my calves the next day. Now I was even more of a munchkin next to Bianca, who checked her cell for messages.

She combed her fingers through her hair, smiling. “Dale wants me to dance with him next. I’d better go find him before he searches for me.”

Dale was one of her oldest and dearest friends. They had dated for a time in high school but then decided to be just friends. She broke up with him when she realized she was attracted to women, but they had remained close. He had been her escort and “date” to many events over the years so as not to raise suspicion.

“Have your dance with him. I’m going to the bathroom to make sure you didn’t leave anything noticeable behind.” I rubbed the side of my throat where it throbbed slightly.

“Don’t joke about that. How will you explain it?” She lost her smile and tilted my head to the side to check for hickeys. I allowed her to inspect because I enjoyed her hands on me. If only we had more time to indulge….

“It’s a good thing your skin is darker than mine.” She let me go and pulled out her compact to inspect her face. “You don’t bruise as easily as I do. Thank god I don’t have a problem with breakouts like you.”

I grimaced and brushed the underside of my chin where a small bump poked out.

“You look wonderful. No one would think you were doing something so shocking as fooling around with your lover in some closet,” I said, searching the floor for the barrette that had fallen out of my hair, but paused when Bianca grabbed me by the head to kiss me. Her kiss made my sigh, and I lifted my arms to embrace her.

She grasped my shoulders and squeezed them tight. “We’ve been over this many times before. We’re friends, not lovers.”

I bit the inside of my lip. I didn’t understand why she was so against the lover label. I wasn’t planning on announcing our status to the world.

“Sorry, I mean your special friend.” I moved out of her hold and squatted down to pick up my barrette.

“My best friend of ten years.” She ran her fingers over the crown of my head. I stayed still, ignoring the aches in my legs as she petted me.

“I’ll leave first, and then in a few minutes you will. I’ll see you back on the main floor.” She ruffled my hair and stepped away. “After I dance with Dale, you can dance with him.”

“Sounds good.” I clutched my pearl barrette, a birthday gift from her last year, and shot her a smile. I would hide my hurt, and, yes, my jealousy, that I couldn’t dance with her in public like Dale could.

She opened the door slightly, stuck her head out, and, with a wave at me, left.

I finally rose, wincing as I shook out my legs. There wasn’t much of a point in getting upset. Unless I ended things between us, our sexual relationship would continue on as it was, hidden. I’d made that decision when I returned for my sophomore year of college and Bianca had explained what she wanted from me, as well as the rules. I accepted, and now, so many years later, we remained the same.

I waited a few minutes then slipped out of the closet and headed for the ballroom to watch the dancing. Dale and Bianca circled the dance floor among the other guests, including their parents and relatives. Bianca glowed under the lights and laughed at something Dale said to her. His hand lowered to the curve of her ass. That’s when I retreated to the women’s room. They were always touchy feely. Bianca was so comfortable with him. It gave me some ease knowing she didn’t share her bed with him. She might not stay the night at my place, but showed up there almost ever
y day after work. We spent most of our time in my bed or on the couch wrapped around one another naked.

The women’s room had enough stalls that, even with such a big crowd, there wasn’t a long line. I peed and wiped away the residue of my time in the closet with Bianca. I thought back to our quickie, pleased she hadn’t freshened up in the bathroom like I did now. Knowing she kept the remains of our lovemaking on her and wouldn’t wash it off until tomorrow morning, made me damp again.

I fixed my hair and makeup, whistling under my breath. An older woman next to me nodded in approval, and I winked at her. She laughed and continued washing her hands.

I left the bathroom in a much better mood. By the time I reentered the ballroom, the new governor and his wife stood on stage with their three children—Brad, Jr., the eldest, Clifford, and then Bianca.

Governor Durand thanked everyone for his win, and loud applause erupted. I spotted Dale near the front of the stage and walked toward him, but then he climbed the steps to the stage and joined Bianca’s. She curled an arm around his waist, and they smiled at one another.

  What the fu—

Governor Durand’s microphone had feedback as he held up his hand to silence the room. My heart beat drummed in my ears, almost drowning out his words, but I heard enough to make me turn to stone.

Everything around me came crashing down as the new governor announced his daughter’s engagement to her boyfriend. I almost vomited on my flats when Dale fell to one knee and slid a diamond ring on Bianca’s finger. He rose and embraced her and the rest of her family.

The crowd went wild with thunderous applause while I ran from the room, unable to breathe, tears rolling down my cheeks.
