“Doesn’t it close here at nine?”
“Not for us it doesn’t.” Releasing my hand he smacks my ass.
The sharp sting of pain from his hand shoots electricity to my clit and I have a real hard time walking further and further away from him. I think I may have just filled spot two.
Chapter Eleven
“If I text you you’ll call and save me right?” Knox starts laughing from the other side of the phone line at my concerned tone. I decided to call him before I went to work this morning.
“I should make you suffer through it.” So mean.
“You wouldn’t do that to your Princess right?” Even though he obviously can’t see me I still put on the extra charm and bat my eyelashes.
“Pull that pout in Princess, you know I’ve got you.”
“I’m going to try and get off work at noon, move my dinner date up to a coffee. You’ve already started packing right?” He’s always making us wait for him last minute.
“I’ll be ready, and sounds good, It takes about four hours to get to the cabin so we should make it just before dark depending on how long your date takes.”
“If the pattern stays it won’t last that long. See you later Knox.”
“Later, Princess.” I hang up the phone and leave for work.
Bose and I crammed on work yesterday because he has a meeting this morning in Bozeman. I didn’t expect to see him come to work at all today but he’s standing in my office by my desk when I walk in.
“Sydney, your here. I wanted to see you before I left this morning.” He wanted to see me? It’s casual Friday and I have a long drive ahead of me today so I wore a tight pair of black leggings and an oversized red fluffy sweater that droops over one shoulder. If my instincts are correct he at least likes what he sees.
“What’s going on? Did we miss something from yesterday?” I really want to leave early today.
“No, just wanted to see you.” His tone got seductively deeper and his tongue comes out and wets his bottom lip. I want to suck that lip into my mouth and bite down on it. Bose is like a fucking masterpiece to stare at but I knew he would taste better. I was never one to say dream about blow jobs but with him.... Bose definitely likes what he sees and I relish in the satisfaction of seeing lust dance in his dark eyes.
“I was going to call you but since you’re here, do you mind if I take off early today?” I never leave early and he knows this, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
A rare smile pulls at his lips. “Go ahead Sydney, you’ve earned it.” Damn straight I have. Bose starts to walk around me and out of my office door. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Sydney.” Tomorrow? He has that wrong, I will be long gone this weekend. I won’t see him again till Monday.
Once I know he’s for sure gone I text my date Blaine to reschedule for twelve thirty at that coffee shop I wanted to try out. He agrees and I walk to Jade’s cubicle wanting to make sure she’s packed and ready to go after work.
She’s kicked back in her chair with her legs up on her desk filing her nails when I walk around the corner. She sure is starting out the day productive, not that I’ve done anything yet either. Her reindeer leggings and green sweater complete with a matching reindeer on it, have my holiday cheer boosting. I love my crazy eccentric friend.
“Hey Jade, you all ready for tonight?”
“You know it Bish, just waiting till we can blow this popsicle stand.”
“Good, I’m leaving early and going on one last date before heading up to the cabin. Knox and I will meet you there.”
“Fuck yeah, if you’re leaving early, I’m leaving early.” Not that she would have lasted all day anyway.
“I’ll call you when we leave.”
“Later, Slut. Good luck on your date.”
Flipping her off I walk back to my office and finish up on a few tasks. My excitement to get away has me bouncing in my seat and as soon as the clock hits twelve I’m grabbing my stuff and leaving the building.

Date 4: Blaine
I love the smell of coffee and as soon as its aroma filters up my nose I’m settled on the biggest cup of hazelnut iced coffee they can make. I can never remember which one is big, medium, or small. I get to the coffee shop a little early so I find a spot and sit down. I heard a text come in while I was ordering and check it. Maybe it’ll be my date cancelling altogether. If only I was so lucky.
Unknown: I can’t wait to see you again.
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: Gage.
Me: Should I even ask how you got my number? Not that I’m mad you do have it.
Gorgeous Gage: Maybe not?
Sucker. Either the Bitch gave it to him, he did a thorough background check, or he got it from my phone before he left the other morning.
Me: So you want to see me again huh? How about sometime next week?
I really want to see him again. We seemed to really click the other night, and falling asleep on his chest was amazing.
Gorgeous Gage: I’ll call you.
I don’t even care about how this date ends up going anymore. My love life is already starting to look a little better. Two out of the four in my imaginary harem have apparently taken interest and even if that’s all I get I’ll be more than happy.
A cute guy wearing a grey button up tucked into a pair of black slacks walks up to my table. He’s not bad looking, a little too skinny for what I normally go after, but his dark black hair stylishly jelled and his blue eyes complement a sweet face. Here goes date number four.
“Sydney? Hi, I’m Blaine.” I stand to shake his offered hand.
“Hi.” We both sit, him across from me with an espresso he ordered before walking over.
“It’s nice to finally meet you.”
“You as well. Sorry for the last minute changes. I have a long drive ahead of me today.”
“It’s no problem. Are you going somewhere with other guys in your harem?” Whoa. He gets right down to the issues at hand doesn’t he. He does look sincerely interested. I never even got to this point in the conversation with the other guys and we’ve barely been sitting talking for five minutes.
Thinking over his question I wish I could say yes. I want Knox in my harem more than anyone. I’m honestly not looking for love out of this harem. I’m not against it and if it happens it happens. But Knox? I’ve loved him for seventeen years, twenty-two if you count the fact I’ve loved him as a friend since we were eight. It was when I turned thirteen and became more interested in boys that I started to realize I loved him more than just a friend. Growing up watching him go through girl after girl in high school fucking sucked. Knox is a knock out and he always had some hoochie momma hanging on his arm. I obviously wasn’t jealous one bit.
“No, just a friends weekend, it’s an annual cabin trip we take each year.” Blaine looks almost disappointed in my answer. He must really be into this whole harem idea. “Do you have any plans for the holidays?”
“I’ll be going to my parents house in Wyoming. So how many other guys are going to be with you? And will we all be together at once?” Alright this is weird. One, he’s acting like he’s already in. Two, these questions kind of seem one directional. Three, what the fuck? Now I’m getting a little confused. “Like, will there be times we’re all together in a group? And what about the guys hanging out when you’re not around?” Oh I see.
This guy is not here for me. Looking him over again I see a few things I missed before, he’s not just cute, but he could also be described as pretty. His eyebrows I now noticed are plucked and his shirt down to his slacks are ironed straight. Now I’m down with a guy who is bi, but if you aren’t here for me too then you’re going to have to be disappointed. Blame the ‘princess’ in me but this is supposed to be about me damnit. While Blaine is temporarily distracted checking out the barista behind the counter I send a quick text to Knox from under the table.
Me: 911, So this guys only here for the sausage not the taco. Call me!
Knox better not be passed out and he better fucking call me, I need my Knight Knoxley to come to my rescue.
Ten minutes go by and I’m cursing Knox in my head. He still hasn’t called and this guy keeps asking some pretty crazy sexual questions about the inner workings of a harem. Honestly dude? I don’t even fucking know.
Five more minutes and the guy is still gabbing away, he’s a talker for sure and I’m starting to get a little annoyed at him and Knox. “So when do you think I might be able to meet some of the other guys?” This guy is so arrogant.
I’m about to just let him know he just didn’t make the cut and get myself out of here when he stops talking and his eyes go wide. He’s looking behind me over my shoulder and I turn to see what caught his attention.
A huge smile breaks out across my face and I have to try really hard not to start busting up laughing. Knox is storming in wearing a black and white plaid button up untucked over loose denim jeans and tan work boots. His curly locks are a mess on top his head and if he doesn’t look like a fucking sexy ass manly lumberjack, then my panties did not also just get wet at the sight of him.
“There you are!” Knox bellows across the shop in a deep voice. Everyone in the place’s eyes stare in our direction, waiting to see the drama unfold. “You say you’re going out for coffee with the girls and I find you here with him?” He gets to our table and points a straight finger in Blaine’s direction.
“Um, do you know this man, Sydney?” Blaine stutters out, he looks like he’s about to piss his pants.
“Does she know me? She’s my fucking wife, Asshole! What are you doing going out with other men’s wives?” Knox stands closer to Blaine, puffing his chest out a little. Gotta say I like seeing this side of Knox. I knew he was playing a part but there was a little bit of him, the part where his hand was resting on my back, that felt real.
Eyes wide, Blaine stands from his seat. “I didn’t know, I’m so sorry. I’ll be going now.”
“Yeah, you fucking will, don’t ever let me catch you near my wife again!”
Blaine practically runs outside of the coffee shop.Knox and I can’t hold it in any longer, we both start busting up laughing, Knox falling in the seat Blaine just vacated. The nosy patrons who had been watching with rapt interest catch on that it was all a joke and join in the laughter.
“Oh my god, Knox! His face!” I have to start wiping at the tears of laughter streaming down my face. “I thought you really were going to leave me to my own defenses and then in you walk.” I have to catch my breath before I can say anymore. “Thank you so much for that.”
“Did you really doubt me, Princess?”
A little. “You coming instead of calling with an emergency situation was priceless though.” Just going to evade that question. He smirks at me.
“I’ll always be here for you, Princess.” The mood sombers a little and we’re able to stop laughing. “We should get going. Why don’t you follow me to my apartment so we can drop my car off and you can pack for me, then we can get on the road.”
“Sounds good. Wait. Did you say pack for you? Knox I thought you said you’d be ready?” I knew it!
“I like when you pack for me.” And I like when you need me.
“Come on, ‘Hubby,’ let’s go.” I stand up and go to grab my iec coffee but Knox’s hand shoots out and he snatches my cup before I can and gets out of his seat. “Hey! Give that back.”
Knox sends me a heartstopping look while making the straw squeal as he sucks in a large drink. “It’s mine now. Have to pay your dues.”
“I know other ways I could pay them for you.”
“Oh really, ‘Wifey’? And what would those ways be?” Fuck! I hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
“Look at the time, it’s already after one. We better get going, Jade will freak if we have her there too long by herself when it’s dark out.” He can have my damn coffee as long as he just doesn’t pursue his question. The amused glint in his eye makes me know that this isn’t over.
We leave the coffee shop and drive to Kniox’s apartment to drop off his car. I have his duffel bag packed and ready to go and have stolen my coffee back in twenty minutes. Knox sorted out what pot he wanted to take and pre-rolled a few blunts. Once again I’m not much of a pot smoker but I am looking forward to chilling out this weekend, I just want to have fun with my friends and relax.
Jade doesn’t get service with her carrier at the cabin so she can’t call us and by the time we reach it around six, it’s dark and she comes running out to great us. The ride went by fast, but still seemed to take forever, if that makes any sense. Knox drove and he drove me wild the entire drive here. We talked a little but mostly listened quietly to the music. He kept his right hand on my left thigh almost the entire way here over the console. He’s never done that before and when he’d absently stroke his hand in between my thighs, my leggings tight, electric pulses would radiated to my clit and he had me throbbing. He’s such a tease and doesn’t even know it. It was hard to resist not clenching my thighs around his hand and holding it there.
“You fucking assholes! What took you so long? I thought for sure a serial killer came for me awhile back.” She clutches a fist to her chest and breathes out dramatically. “There were fucking noises coming from everywhere.”
“Date lasted a little longer than expected, let’s just say the guy would have preferred being on a date with Knox. Even after he scared him shitless showing up and pretending to be my enraged and jealous husband.”
“He didn’t.” Jade and I both watch Knox take mine and his bags into the cabin.
“He did. It was fucking hilarious. That’s it though, no more dates for me. I think I may have the perfect start to my harem forming anyway.” Jade’s brows raise in excitement.
“Do tell.” She looks again to where Knox disappeared in the doorway. “You finally tell Knox how you feel about him?”
“I’ll tell you more later.” Knox comes to stand at the doorway to wait for us, while we talk at the car. “And no.” I look at Knox and smile. “I’m still afraid of losing him.” It’s getting harder and harder not to say something to him though with the way things have seemed to change between us this past week. Knox has become a little possessive and I love it, I’m just not sure what it means and don’t want to read too much into it.
“Fucking A. Do you not see how he looks at you? How he’s always looked at you for at least as long as the seven years I’ve known you.” The way Knox looks at me? Looking at Knox now his eyes are on me and I smile feeling a little braver. Although what would he think if he could hear what we were talking about? Maybe I should just pull my big girl panties up and tell him. There’s no way anything could break up our tight friendship. We’re solid. Right?
Grabbing my purse, Jade and I go inside. First night of the trip is always movies and popcorn night. There’s no cable or internet at the cabin, we’re completely unplugged, so each of us brought five of our own favorite DVD’s from home to watch. All three of us stay up past midnight cuddled on the couch watching movies. The cabin is a one bedroom, one bathroom open concept building with a loft. Jade always takes the bedroom and Knox and I always share the bed in the open loft overlooking the living room.
I don’t remember getting up the stairs but spending the night with Knox cuddled behind me has got to be the perfect way to start my mini holiday.
Chapter Twelve
I never get to sleep in so it’s the first time in forever, that I’m able to sleep in until eleven. Since I still wake up before the others, I get up to start making breakfast for lunch. Knox and I had stopped on the way last night for groceries and I’m just finishing up with frying cubed potatoes and bacon when Knox’s hard body presses against mine to reach around me and steal a piece of bacon. My breath catches and I stiffen until he steps back.
“Good morning, Princess.” He leans against the counter beside me chewing on his stolen piece of bacon. He’s only wearing a pair of faded and ripped jeans with
no shirt. I’m not even shy about it I check him out and he laughs, folding his arms across his chest as if to cover himself.
“Morning, Knoxley.” I serve up a plate with potatoes, bacon, eggs, and toast and hand it to him. “Thank you Princess.” He takes the plate and goes to the couch to sit and eat.
“Bitch you better have a plate for me too.” Jade comes out of the bedroom her hair is absolutely crazy and sticking up all over, her neon green pajamas with wreaths all over them, are baggy on her small but curvy frame. She rubs her eyes as she walks in with her big duck slippers sliding against the wood floors. She looks absolutely adorable.
“Good morning to you too, Jade.” I hand her a plate and she grumbles as she goes to sit next to Knox on the couch. Jade is not a morning person.
After we all eat we spend the day playing board games and even take a walk down to the lake to take pictures in the snow. It’s beautiful up here in the mountains, and the cool chill air is refreshing to my lungs. It has been the perfect day. Seeing all the trees around I realize I still haven’t set up my Christmas tree and make a note in my head to set it up Sunday when I get home.
We started drinking around five when we grilled burgers for dinner. We all were doing really good at first but the more margaritas I drank, the more alcohol I added into them when I made them. Jade passed out on the couch after a very intense dance off between the two of us. She killed me in twerking but I busted out moves even I didn’t know I had for the rest, Knox was having a blast laughing at us.
I’m fucking sloshed and making Knox dance to slow songs with me. My mom would have called me a lush right now, that’s what she used to call my Aunt Cathy when she would get drunk and crazy during the holidays. I smile at the thought. I wonder if she’s looking down at me now smiling and shaking her head like she used to do at my Aunt. I always miss my mom on the holidays.
“Princess, your phone keeps going off with texts and calls, you going to get them?” Knox stops our slow motions around the living room.
