He moved towards her and gently placed the necklace over her head, being careful not to bump her bandaged wrists. This close to her, her scent filled his nose. He let the necklace fall against her skin and trailed his hands down her sides. Where his skin touched hers, he felt warmed and sparks softly played around. She shivered and turned around, staying within the confines of his arms.

  “Thank you,” she said quietly.

She leaned up and kissed him.

It was just as he had expected it would be. Just as it had been in the dream where she wore the purple dress. He felt his whole body warm and sparks shot out around them. Pet pulled away slightly, laughing as they were showered with sparks.

Archibald chittered and Charles let him climb up his body. Archibald sat around Charles’ neck and kissed his cheek. If that could be called a kiss. Pet laughed again and Charles smiled.

He kissed her once more before they went down for breakfast, Pet stroking her necklace and Archibald riding on Charles’ shoulder with one paw on his head.

Charles had accepted himself and found his humanity. But, now he would have to work to keep that humanity as a vampire once more.

Wolf out. Bite Down. Go Wild.

Still dealing with the repercussions of her trauma and what this means for her powers, Ellie finds a safe place at uni to practice and learn. Druidry gives her an outlet and a sympathetic group of friends to help her.

Finally regulated, Lee is learning how to live in his own skin. But, the call of the moon is strong and Lee has trouble resisting. Matters are compounded when a human comes into his life. But, Lee’s wolf isn’t the only thing she unleashes.

Tasked with keeping Lee in check on a full moon, issues with Ellie, and someone killing his descendants, Charles’ first year at university is less than ideal. He’s constantly saving everyone else, but who’ll save him?

Wild sides are revealed as our trio realise it’s one thing to accept yourself and another entirely to control yourself. Especially when you don’t want to.

Thank you so much for reading this story! Word of mouth is super valuable to authors. So, if you have a few moments to rate/review Charles, Ellie and Lee’s story – or, even just pass it on to a friend – I would be really appreciative. You can find it on Goodreads or Amazon.

Have you looked for my books in your local or school library and can’t find them? Just let your friendly librarian know that they can order copies directly from LightningSource/Ingram.

  Thanks

There are a multitude of people I would like to thank, and I will no doubt forget one or two (but you’ll know who you are – berate me later!). Firstly, I’d like to thank my wonderful husband Andy for everything, especially all his days of editing assistance. I would be lost without you and I’m sorry you couldn’t just wait for the movie to come out.

Also to Mum and Dad for putting up with my madness and not discouraging me from my dreams.

Thanks to Georgia Martin for reading the first few chapters of the draft and actually wanting to read more. And for all your editing help!

Thanks must go to all the Sleeping Dragons, past, present and intermittent – Antony Clarke, Paige Hardman, Russell Hartup, Erin O’Brien, Michael Phillips, Sarah Sturm, Joanne Wilkins, Rohan Williams – for all their help with bettering my craft, giving me people to talk writing with, and talking plots and Author Information Sheets.

Thank you Emily Craven for our mad plotting sessions and story idea escalations.

I give a big thank you to Sean Williams, Kate Forsyth, Cecilia Dart-Thornton and Isobelle Carmody (to name a few!) for being such great role models and piquing my interest in fantasy, writing and being a writer.

A huge shout out goes to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) – especially 2011 and 2012 – where I started and finished this book , even if not much happened in between!

Finally, I must thank the organization that truly got me started on the path to publication; The South Australian Writers’ Centre. Thank you for teaching me that being a writer is not such a silly dream after all.

  About the Author

Born in New Zealand to a Brit and an Australian, I am an emerging writer with a passion for all things storytelling. I love reading, writing, TV and movies, gaming, and spending time with family and friends. I am an avid fan of British comedy, superheroes, and SuperWhoLock. I have too many favourite books, but I fell in love with reading after Isobelle Carmody’s Obernewtyn. I am obsessed with all things mythological – my current focus being old-style Irish faeries. I live in Adelaide with my long-suffering husband, delirious dog, mad cat, two guinea pigs, two chickens, and a lazy turtle.
