  'Panel open'

Whoosh! Holographic blue charts appeared before his very eyes which allowed him to see extremely detailed information about himself and his current status! 'What? How can I even have access to this?' He slapped himself a couple times like an idiot, but this was real? 'This is reality?!'

  ...

  "Character Name": [Gama]

  "Equipped Class: Supreme General"

  "Equipped Title: 1st class Player"

  "Base HP: 9,000"

  "Base Damage (Fist): 500"

  "Equipped items: N/A"

  "Equipped skills: N/A"

  ...

  "I have no equipped items?"

He instinctively inspected himself and finally noticed that what he was wearing right now was not his equipment in the game, but the clothes he wore in real life!

'What is with all this? I guess I should take a look at the surroundings before dealing with this…'

It did not take too long for him to arrive at a riverbank while traveling through the very lush forest he was in. He washed his face thoroughly and felt somewhat better. He stared at the reflection in the river and shock was apparent in his face.

"What? Why… do I look, young... er?!" …"How is this possible? Wait, I've read about this some time ago. Hmm reincarnation? Rebirth? That doesn't sound right, I'm still the same me, hmm." He pondered for quite a while as he muttered, "Could it be that I have transmigrated to another place?" 'Wait, is that even possible?' Without another thought, he opened the panel with his command

  'Open Game Map'

  'System: Game Map updates starting'

  'Update 1%... 10%.... 30... .100%'

  'Update complete'

"Huh? An update? I don't remember that…" Letting his sentence trail off, he thought to himself

  'View Game Map'

*Whoosh* another blue panel opened with a truly bewildering set of data on it.

  "New World: Nuwiell"

"World Map is divided into 11 continents

*Jejuron Continent – Currently the most prominent military power in the entire new world. They were known for the technological advancement of 'black dust' which is their ace in the hole for threatening major powers from the other continents.

*Blaz Continent – The earliest continent to establish civilization. The smallest continent in the new world, with only around 4 million km2 of land, which led to the establishment of a more united continent under the power of the Wolfenstein Kingdom.

*Omod Continent – Contains the greatest number of kingdoms, and boasts the 2nd most powerful army in the new world, proof that quantity itself is quality.

*Shodan Continent- One of the weaker continents when comparing to others based on size, but due to its geographical location at the northernmost part of the new world, it stayed passively in the remote reaches, staying essentially the same as when it was founded.

*Reznor Continent- With the exception of a few outlying kingdoms on the fringes, the majority of the Reznor continent is under the control of a united alliance of kingdoms under the rule of the Nyne Kingdom…

  Etc…

Overwhelming amounts of data flooded through his eyes and into his brain.

"What's with all this...? I don't remember any of these places..."

This just goes to show that he has indeed transmigrated, but according to the stories he used read, shouldn't he have to die before transmigrating? He wracked his brain, attempting to think of how he may have died. All he remembered was that he was about to fight a very formidable boss and then… wait a minute.

"My real body died...? Well, that's kinda unfortunate."

Instead of pondering for a long time about his 'death', he accepted it as quick as he would with anything else that appeared his life, as a matter of fact. He was already prepared for this day to come, because even though he wasn't particularly sickly, he was still old after all, so it was natural.

Anyways, as he stared at the information in front of him he wondered…

"Doesn't this have too much information for just a geographical map? It even has strength measurements of these continents...?"

11 continents... The planet itself seems to be almost twice as big as Earth.

'This world, Nuwiell… I wonder why I suddenly showed up here in the first place'.

After thinking for a while, he opened his game panel again checking other things he might have skipped. Sure enough, there were 2 notifications waiting there for him. One of them was for a 'New Title', and the other was for a 'New Item obtained'.

Clicking the Inventory tab, he saw the familiar icon that he saw before he blacked out last time. It was "The Eye" with no change in its description or special effects whatsoever.

'So I actually still obtained it… Well, that's something good I think'. A Mythical tier item is always a good thing for the players of Gaia's Paradox

But when he looked at the title, a very shocked expression appeared on Feihren's face.

  ...

  "Obtained Title": [Gaia's Paradox Messiah]

"Title effect: Doubles all attributes, item effects, damage, and skill duration when equipped."

"Title Special Effect: Grants the user, Rebirth: One-time re-spawn in the New World Nuwiell."

  ...

Feihren's face paled slightly as he read this title. 'What does it mean to be labeled as Gaia's Paradox Messiah? Is it talking about the game or the god...? Well in any case, there is no way for me to answer these questions as things stand. I can't believe that I received a lifesaving title right off the bat! The stat gains aren't too shabby either'. Without thinking about it too much, he immediately equipped the title."

As for the boost in attributes, he didn't really mind. The title he was using previously, '1st class player', has almost the same effect as this one. It was just a little bit weaker since it only gave a 50% boost to your attributes instead of doubling it.

As he was about to open his Equipment tab, he had an ominous feeling that someone was staring at him from behind, alerting his senses.

  'Supreme General Skill: Battlefield Scan'

Without hesitation, he activated his scouting skill, and he was right. Around 20 people are in the radius of effect, with 3 close enough to watch him and the other 17 rushing towards his location, roughly half a kilometer away.

Feihren smiled "Isn't this way too clichéd?"

  Chapter 3: Clichéd Encounter

  "Class": [Supreme General]

One of the most coveted classes within Gaia's Paradox, a well-rounded class with extremely formidable crowd control and High DPS within an Area of effect.

"Battlefield Scan: Scans the area within a radius of 5 km., Can distinguish between allies, enemies, and neutral forces within the area."

"General's Aura: Within a designated 1 km radius, weakens opponents: (30% stamina reduction) (10% vitality reduction) (Maximum duration per enemy unit: 60 minutes)"

"Supreme Gaze: When the Supreme General is engaging opponents in 1 vs 1, any opponent attempting to attack the general that is not the locked target will be mini-stunned for 0.5 seconds) (10% Damage reduction)"

"Ultimate skill, Battle cry: Activation Duration (1 minute), Effects: Boost Morale, increases ally damage and attributes by 80% within the duration, Regenerates ally's health by 1% per second (60% total)

Aside from the 4 skills in the arsenal of a Supreme General, a maxed out character like Feihren has 3 vacant skill slots which allow him to select skills from other classes that he meets the requirements for, with the exception of Ultimate skills. At the moment, he hadn't applied any skills to these free slots.

  ...

A calm and composed figure could be seen on the river bank. Not a single motion can be seen aside from his casual breathing.

"Should we approach him? He does not seem to be hostile?" A burly man asked in a quiet voice.

"What choice do we have? We are heavily outnumbered and I can feel that we are still being tailed and chased by our enemies." A petite
looking guy in his middle age replied.

A strong looking woman with a heavy build shrugged at the suggestion of the two people hiding with her, saying, "What good is a random stranger to our plight? We better just keep still and hide, what's the point of dragging some stranger into this kind of mess?"

The other two sighed as they remained still and continued hiding.

  ...

'Hmm, they're not enemies?' Feihren thought as he saw that the 3 dots on his map turned gray (neutral) while the other 17 things approaching were still showing up as red.

'It seems like they're not together'

Feihren stood up and casually stretched, then proceeded to lie down on the ground with his eyes shut.

The 17 people arrived from the eastern side of the river. By opening one of his eyes, Feihren casually inspected this new group of people who had just rushed over.

"Medieval troops?" A barely audible voice drifted from Feihren. He expected it to be some gang of thief's or even a pack of wild beasts, but military personnel, in the middle of the wilderness? Something feels amiss here, and the fact that they are wearing heavy plated armor. Feihren wondered,

'Is the setting of this world… medieval times? Holy cow, don't tell me there are wizards and magic here too!? And there might even be some sort of demon lords and loli's?'

  ...

At a reasonable distance, a troop of cavalry halted as they neared the Jujelei River.

The scouts crossed the river first as the other knights rested and let their horses drink from the river.

The leader of the group, Knight Commander Marvin Mendi, had fixed his gaze upon the only figure he could see on the other side of the riverbank.

  "Is that someone there?"

As soon as Marvin let out that inquiry, several other knights turned their heads in the direction of his gaze. One of them asked, "What do you think is he doing there sir? Do you think he belongs to that group of people from the Shodan continent that we were looking for?"

"I do not think so. He seems to be aware of our presence, so if he was one of our enemies, he would have easily distinguished us even from quite some distance. So if he was with that group then he would have been hiding by now, but he seems calm and relaxed" Marvin replied, while still thinking about who the other party might be "Send some of the scouts to that man and ask him the usual questions. Do not act hostile." Marvin is of a high rank, but is in no way a cocky person.

A knight jokingly replied, "If he was really one of the enemies, then by all means, he's the cockiest guy I've ever met."

"I'd respect him for being that stupid" Another knight snorted. Marvin paid no heed to the joking comments and shushed the entire cavalries' collective noise.

Around 20 minutes passed before the scouts that they sent for that stranger reappeared. Shockingly, the scouts brought the stranger back with them. They seemed to carry a hint of pride in their faces as they walk towards the commander.

Marvin sighed inwardly 'Bringing someone unknown in your own camp is pretty dumb! What are these scouts thinking?' But none of these words were said aloud, and he just proceeded to ask the scouts about what they had learned about this mysterious stranger. Looking behind them, the stranger seems to be nonchalantly checking out the surroundings. Neither hostility nor killing intent was emitted by this middle-aged man. Marvin let out a soft sigh of relief.

"Commander Marvin, this man stated that he's a retired general, now living a nomadic life near this region. I doubted some of his words, so we brought him back here for you to verify his story."

'A retired general? He doesn't look that old, does he? And even if it's true, I doubt he still has the prowess he once had since it seems he has been living in the wilderness. But just in case…'

  'Lesser Magic item: Assess'

  .....

  "Identity": [Gama Feihren]

  "???: Supreme General"

  " Title: ??? Paradox ???"

  "Health: ???"

  "Ability: ???"

Marvin was extremely confused. What's with all this unrevealed information? He has used this magic item quite a few times before. Even though it is not of the highest tier, it was still in the (Uncommon) tier which is difficult to find and has great effectiveness. But this time it seems to have failed… On top of that, Gama Feihren… Supreme General? How can a title be a paradox?! With all the information not being revealed about this guy, it was hard to assess who he really was. But one thing was easy to decide, he should definitely not provoke this man.

Chapter 4: On His way to Wolfenstein!

Deep in the Central woodlands, three shadowy figures carefully tread along a moonlit path. They were moving with great vigilance and caution written in their every action.

Claire, a bulky looking lady with a Berserker class, was leading the way through this lush forest. "Why did those Wolfenstein bastards give up on chasing us? I'm glad they gave up, as although we three are obviously greater in quality, quantity itself is quality"

"True, but, I have no idea what caused them to stop chasing us, but it seems like they had a chat with that hermit fellow by the riverbank. They were so far away that I was not confident in being able to hear them using my skill" Dennis, a scouting Ranger, replied.

"Eh, it does not matter anymore. As long as we are not caught and we can return to our kingdom, all will be fine" The burly man added. His name was Matthew, a Guardian Knight.

  ...

Traveling in the opposite direction of those three, a group of cavalry knights could be seen heading towards the Wolfenstein kingdom.

"Sir, why did we stop chasing those people back there?" A knight curiously inquired.

"The orders were to identify the enemy and exterminate if possible. However, given the few numbers they seem to have, giving chase would be futile when they would just abuse the entire Central woodlands by playing hide-and-seek with us" Marvin indecisively replied

In all honesty, the threat of those Shodan spies was on the lowest level. Their scouts believe that little to no information was taken from them before the other party was exposed.

Marvin just sighed as he threw a casual glance towards this Feihren guy that was following along with the knights.

  ...

'Well, it doesn't matter what I do for now though. Really, I'm just totally new to this world, so getting accustomed to the people here should be normal right? I believe I'd be better off near civilization and all that anyway. After all, I was a city boy myself'. Feihren pondered silently as to what his next actions would be.

'But why is this guy staring at me so weirdly?! It's creeping me out! Stop it, man!' Feihren inwardly sighed. Marvin had been staring at him with a puzzled and wary expression ever since he arrived at their camp. 'This guy is supposed to be their leader right? What the... "Casual" glance my as*, this is just plain creepy'.

'But I guess it would be normal, my system log showed an abnormal trace when that guy stared at me back then. Maybe it was some sort of enemy scan? But with how things worked back in Gaia's Paradox, a gap in levels of 100 or more does not allow those of lower level to have a full view of the enemies' stats. If I am judging this correctly by the way he is acting right now, it seems things work the same way here as well?' Feihren just forced out a smile towards Marvin.

"Many thanks for allowing me to go along with you back to your kingdom."

Marvin replied with a casual wave of a hand and a nod.

'I didn't like those novels that began with a blood-bath first encounter cliché though, so I don't mind this as much'. A faint smile appeared on Feihren's face.

  ...

  A few minutes ago…

Feihren was verified by the commander to be non-hostile, and was allowed to go unmolested. However, contrary to what Marvin was expecting, this man requested to join them on their journey to return to Wolfenstein.

Most of the knights didn't bother with him anymore. Most of them just thought that this "old" man just wanted to return to civilization after wanderi
ng about for a long time, and was lost with no idea where and how to go back. But to Marvin this is a farce! A huge as* farce! This guy is far from weak and helpless in his opinion.

Marvin hypothesized that the magic item he used is just not capable of reading a unit that is too high or too low for its standards. But what the heck, this item is only uncommon grade, just a tier higher than a basic item. So in conclusion, this "old" hermit man is strong, definitely strong. Marvin was convinced. He had been commander for over a year now and even though he was only in his mid 40's, he was no longer arrogant to the extent of him being dumb and reckless.
