Quantum Christianity: Believe Again Page 36

by Aaron Davis

22 And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church],

23 Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

In these scriptures, we see God provided a great hope (verse 18) for us through the inheritance and expression of the greatness of His power and strength demonstrated through those who believe in Him. This is because God raised Jesus from the dead and has seated Him in heaven (verses 20–21) and gave Him (Jesus) complete power, dominion, and authority over every name (kingdom) forever (verse 21), placing those kingdoms under His feet (verse 22).

Now where this gets very interesting is in verses 22–23, where the scripture goes on to say that Christ is the head of the church, which is His body. In this body lives the full measure of Him (Jesus), who makes everything complete.

This is extremely significant! Many will argue that Jesus was the Son of God and that is why He was able to perform miracles, but when we look at the comparison of Ephesians 1 (above) and Colossians 2 (below), we see that we are filled with the same “fullness of God” that Jesus was.

  Colossians 2:9–10 (AMP)

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].

And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

So between Ephesians 1 and 2 and Colossians 2, we see an account that is difficult for our minds to comprehend and it would be easy to simply overlook as we read. But it seems to imply that we, as the body of Christ, are filled with and have access to the fullness of the same Spirit of God and power that was and is in Christ in bodily form!

Now, don’t confuse “the body of Christ” with a traditional perspective of going to church. This is not the same. Being in covenant with God makes us His children and recipients of His promises, not because we go to church but because we have entered into a relationship with Him as outlined in earlier chapters of this book. This is as applicable for the man in the remote tribe in Africa as the pastor of a megachurch.

Could this be why Christ said that we would be endued with power when the Holy Spirit was sent and that miracles would be the sign of those who believe?

Could it be that Christ understood that the same Holy Spirit that empowered Him bodily was going to fill each of us bodily and that we would have the ability to walk in the same power that He walked in?

And is it possible that this is why He would say that even greater things would we do because He was going to the Father and sending the Holy Spirit?

  John 14:10–13, 16, 20, 26 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son . . . And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever— . . . At that time [when that day comes] you will know [for yourselves] that I am in My Father, and you [are] in Me, and I [am] in you . . . But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

Ephesians 1 tells us that everything that exists in the physical and spiritual realms is under Jesus’ feet and subsequently our feet. And then according to Ephesians 3:19, we too are clearly empowered and filled with the fullness of God!

  Ephesians 3:19–20 (AMP)

[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] . . .

This is so important because what we perceive about ourselves often is the catalyst to how we respond. Many have read these scriptures and quickly went on to the next thing. Most in church have been taught that “we are the temple of the Holy Spirit” or “God lives in our hearts,” but few have been told that the same power that Jesus operated in is available to us through the infilling of the same Spirit. And if you don’t know more is available to you, then you will likely never pursue it! When Jesus prayed and taught us to pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” this was a prayer expressing the heart of God to recreate a culture that exists in heaven here in the earth.

I’m convinced that the enemy works tirelessly and endlessly to attempt to keep us ignorant of the truth of whom God actually intends for us to be, and in doing so, keeps us from utilizing our authority and establishing the kingdom of God in the earth. Every enemy and opposition to the kingdom of God was defeated through Christ. Godly authority was given to man in a way that he never experienced in all of human history, in that the very fullness of the Spirit of God was made available to and resided in him.

As Bill Johnson said, “I believe that often we live under the kingdom that we think most about.” Sadly, most of us have been focused and trained to focus on the residual effects of and lack existent in the kingdom of sin and darkness. As long as what we do not have is our primary focus, will what we do not have continue to be our reality?

And in contrast, if we learn to see life through the eyes and intention of God, how might that change what has become our current experience? “The Lord is longing to live on earth again through the lives of yielded vessels that represent him without defilement, without compromise for impurity or a cowardly approach that lacks boldness. Confronting the things that Jesus rendered powerless at his death and resurrection,”121 Bill said.

It is possible to have a million dollars in the bank and starve to death. And I wonder if this is not what has been happening in the body of Christ, where Christians are starving to death because they do not know what they have been given and provided through Christ. They assume that sin and the kingdom of darkness will continue to take ground unopposed because they don’t realize who they are—and whose they are (at least not to the extent that He intended).

  Romans 5:17 (AMP)

For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

  YOUR CALLING

You have been called to reign in this life! This is not a promise
for tomorrow, or after we die and go to heaven when it is all over . . . but right here and right now! This means that there is nothing that comes against you that you do not have authority over.

In the same measure that Jesus ruled on the earth, you rule on the earth.

In the exact same measure Jesus is victorious over every enemy, so are you!

Jesus is not coming back from some beaten and broken bride. “To assume that he would return for a weak and sick church and heal her when He gets her home is an offense to what he accomplished at the cross.”122

In many ways, I feel like we are just on the verge of a significant tipping point that will begin a revolution of revelation. A place where, in unity, many are coming to a place of understanding of what God intended for His people in the establishment of His kingdom on the earth. As we reach that tipping point and faith is not only extended but also increased in its release, I believe that God will continue to reveal more and more pieces of this Quantum Christianity puzzle that our traditional teachings kept us from ever exploring. Much like the belief in a flat world kept explorers from pressing past the boundaries of discovery for fear of falling off the edge, I believe many in the body of Christ are now accepting the idea that more may be possible and in faith are pursuing what that revelation has unveiled to them.

I don’t know all the answers, but I believe a time is coming and has already begun where in the pursuit of understanding and establishing God’s kingdom, we peel back the layers that have hidden what has always been possible as we seek to quantify what the Bible has always said was possible.

One thing I am convinced of is that a day is coming—there will be a generation who comes to a fullness of understanding concerning their authority and corporately establishing the kingdom of God in the earth. If I never see this day with my own eyes, I’m content to still pursue the revelation that has been given to me to set my son or my grandson up to walk in the fullness of what God created them to be. If nothing else, I will play a part that will be a catalyst for the next generation’s deeper pursuit.

But one thing I am equally convinced of is that this will not happen if we do not change the way we think and explore deeper possibilities.

Science has progressed because, with the discovery and revelation of more being possible, visionaries have pursued to quantify that which was unveiled, even though it was previously not taught or understood. This is how quantum physics came to present essential pieces of scientific puzzle to the rest of the world.

We, the church, are in a similar place. Deeper revelation has unveiled things concerning God and His desire for His most beloved creation. The fullness of what this revelation will provide has yet to be completely revealed, but I’m convinced the results will be a transformation from what we have understood as a traditional Christian experience to a Quantum Christian experience, where the people of God walk in the fullness of what He has intended for them all along. I for one am excited to see where this discovery takes us!

  TAKE YOUR PICK

You have been presented with a line drawn in the sand. A red pill and a blue pill, if you will. On one hand, you observe the line from the side that you always have. You can continue to process God and religion in the same way that you always did, and you can go back to the reality that has always been your existence.

Or you can cross that line. Weighing what has been presented to you in this book, you can recognize that there may be more to be experienced and more to be attained on the other side of that line. You can pursue understanding what that more looks like for you and what part you play in the pursuit of it! This may ultimately confirm the “there must be more” question that your heart has whispered, in order for God and life to make sense!

I realize that you may not be in the place to completely accept all that has been presented in this book, and honestly, that was never the intent of writing it. Everyone is in a different place of progress in his walk with God.

Whether you take a single thought and run with it or you accept a great portion of what has been written and apply it as you continue to gain understanding and confirmation of its legitimacy, my main desire is not to convince you to think like me and believe exactly as I do. My goal is to challenge the obstacles and resolves of your previously closed doors.

I know you may be frustrated, angry, and doubting as a result of your interactions with organized religion, other Christians, or life’s circumstances.

Maybe you’ve struggled with a failure to understand faith and God. Perhaps you’ve even experienced a loss of faith altogether.

Maybe your mind is spinning with all of the new information, and you’re ready to dive in headfirst and accept the challenge.

Hopefully, as a result of the research I’ve provided, and through thought-provoking questions and encouragement, you will explore every possibility, pursue truth for yourself, and not complacently only accept what society, the church, or your background has told you about a limited or powerless existence in the kingdom of God.

Challenge those previous obstacles of faith!

  Ask the difficult questions!

The answers you find might just open the door for you to explore new possibilities and maybe . . . just maybe . . . you’ll discover an opportunity to believe again.

The journey to truth—as does any journey—begins with one step.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT FAITH AND SCIENCE

Typically, this part of a book is reserved for the endorsements of what others are saying about the author. I would like to use it to put into practice what I’ve proposed in this book and endorse what others are saying in agreement about our God!

This is my endorsement of them. Giving honor where honor is due, these are quotations from a few pastors I follow from around the world who are blazing the trail for the advancement of the kingdom of God (some even controversially). Just because I am quoting them does not mean that they would agree with everything written in this book, nor I with everything they would teach or even live out. As a matter of fact, I have heard some convey thoughts and perspectives that may be a direct contradiction to what is written here. That doesn’t matter to me. I believe in them, their calling to advance the kingdom, and their ministry to the world regardless of areas where we may agree or disagree.

Some I have been blessed to serve personally; others I have met in passing; still others I’ve never had the joy of meeting. Nevertheless, these are (or were) generals on the forefront of advancing the kingdom of God through the good news of Jesus Christ! And I honor them as I believe they are leaders with hearts after God!

“Every declaration is a revelation of the substance of your heart. Declaration becomes a forecast of the direction your life is moving. Faith does not deny the existence of a problem; it denies it the authorization to stay!”

  —Danny Chambers

“God has limited his limitless power on this earth to our faith.”

  —Robert Morris

“Knowledge is important, but we have to live out that knowledge. And through a relationship with the Truth, we are free to live it out. We can apply that knowledge in a meaningful way in our everyday lives. We’re able to go beyond religion, beyond law, beyond have-to, into a new way of living. You see, Truth is not a set of facts; Truth is a person . . . And as we grow in our relationship with the Way, the Truth, and the Life, we stop being chained to our harmful habits and enslaved to our sins. We are free! Free to pursue a better way. Spiritual freedom is not just being released from something; it’s also being released to something. We are free from sin and free to pursue abundant life.”

  —Ed Young Jr., You!

“Most of us prefer a more logical and reasonable lifestyle with its predictability and control rather than the adventure of faith. We allow security and stability to soak up our dreams and hold them captive. The mundane lures us in, and we view the call of faith as a threat to our (actually) boring life . . . And we wonder, ‘Where is the God of miracles today?’ He stands in t
he shadows of the giants and walls that you keep avoiding. He is in the fiery furnace that melted your confidence before it was turned up seven times hotter. Why, it was just getting interesting when you bailed. When will you dare to live a life that at least occasionally puts your faith on the spot? God is waiting for you to step into that spot. When will your faith become something that is desired and not dreaded? When will you begin to set a faithful and courageous example for those who follow you—your children, your church, or the entrepreneurs and leaders of the next generation?”

—Phil Munsey, Legacy Now: Why EVERYTHING about YOU Matters

“God always looks for a person to partner with Him to bring forth His will on the earth. There is no such thing as an authority vacuum. We simply replace one authority with another. Our call as Christians is to replace the evil, despot authority of the devil with the gracious, benevolent authority of God through prayer. It doesn’t just happen naturally; it must be established manually.”

—Jurgen Matthesius, PUSH: Pray Until Something Happens: Divine Principles For Praying

“‘God is my peace, God is my righteousness, God is my healer, God is my protector, God is all-knowing, God is my provider.’ While these statements are all true, these adjectives and nouns and a thousand more still would not define God—because God is more than we could ever grasp, let alone define . . . Here’s what I’ve discovered: God is not limited to what we’re currently experiencing or how we’ve known him in the past. How depressing would it be if God were only what you’ve already discovered and nothing more? He certainly is all that you’ve discovered—but he’s also more than you or I could ever dream or imagine. Scripture tells us that God ‘is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).’ Could it be that we’ve settled with our current understanding and experience of God? Could it be that in our relationship with God we’ve gravitated to an incredibly safe lifestyle? Could it be that we’re serving God but attempting to stay in control of our own lives? Could it be that our faith has become so predictable and uninspiring that we’re bored and stagnant? Maybe it’s time for us to do something drastically different. To take God at his word, even when it feels uncomfortable or vulnerable or unfamiliar. Maybe it’s time to let go of the past and pursue his Spirit and breath like never before. If He is the God who can and will do exceedingly and abundantly more than all we could ask, imagine, or think, why not let Him? What will it take for us to let God saturate our lives with His love? For Him to resuscitate our hearts with his life-giving breath?”
