  "Fuck me, Rev."

He moved slowly, the pace of his strokes driving her insane. Rev was so big inside her. It was just what she needed, but he had to move faster.

"Fuck me," she demanded. He pushed in and out, moving in ever faster strokes. She grabbed his ass and pulled him into her as hard as she could.

"Come on, baby," she encouraged. "It feels so good!"

He was wild now, gripping her hips and pounding her. She grunted on each stroke. Fire gathered, spreading through her ass and up her spine. A final push broke her apart, and she screamed. Her heart hammered in her chest, and her head whipped from side to side wildly. She was unable to contain herself.

"Yes, yes, yes," she babbled as he sunk deep inside her.

"Aaaahhhh." His cock was so large in her. She felt him shoot his warmth inside her. A few final pushes, and he held himself above her shaking.

She reached up her arms. "Come here, baby," she said, pulling him down beside her.

He sank next to her, throwing his arm around her. He clutched her tightly, and she snuggled against him.

After a few minutes, he was able to speak. "I'll never let you go."

Tracy didn't hear him. She'd fallen asleep.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

Tracy woke feeling pin pricks on her skin. With a start, she saw a bunch of little black bugs crawling on her. When she felt one on her face she shrieked and jumped up, batting it off and brushing the rest from her body. They scurried away into a recess in the rocks.

Incredibly, Rev didn't stir and remained sleeping on the ground. She wondered why the bugs didn’t bother him. They’d certainly torn through the dead crab. Must be scavengers.

Good to know she and Rev were still alive.

She swallowed. Her mouth was dry. She felt around in the pockets of her jumpsuit and took out one of the few pouches of water left. Water was one thing they could not be without in the desert, and she felt bad that she’d fallen asleep without putting her suit on. Careless.

Next to her, Rev continued sleeping. His dark hair fell across his forehead. His well-built chest rose and fell in time with his breathing. He seemed at total ease sleeping in the wilderness next to her.

She took small sips of water looking to quench her thirst, but tiny mouthfuls weren't cutting it. Tracy stared at the spacesuit, which recycled her wastes into drinking water. They'd have to rely on that when the packaged water ran out.

Tracy had no idea what Rev had planned, but not knowing anything about Carol was frustrating. She felt guilty taking her pleasure with Rev when her friend was either suffering or dead from the biological manipulation of her body.

She couldn't even imagine what Carol had gone through at the hands of those miners.

She took out the last bar of gelled food in the first packet and started chewing slowly. It was a good thing she had a high tolerance for eating the same foods repeatedly. The schedule she kept at the newspaper didn't allow for lots of free time, so she often grabbed meals from the same few fast-food joints.

Rev finally stirred. He opened his eyes and looked at her with a sappy smile.

  "Breakfast is ready," she said.

"Blessings for the day, mate." He was grinning.

"That's a fancy way to say hello," she said.

"It is what we typically say to those we..." He stopped as if he were thinking over what to say. "It's a common way to wish a good day to someone."

"Uh-huh," said Tracy. "You hungry? We've got, um"—she held up the two remaining packets of food bars—"food bars or food bars."

"Tough decision. I'll take a food bar."

"Excellent choice, sir," she said tearing open one of the packets. She broke off a section and handed it to him.

"Here is our fine assortment of waters." She took out the three packets left. "I can recommend this vintage," she said, handing him a packet. "It is guaranteed to wet your mouth."

He took the packet and smiled at her. "Are you always this pleasant in the morning?"

"Me?" she said dismissively. "I'm always pleasant after a good alien abduction."

He turned serious. "I'm sorry, Tracy. I wish you hadn't gotten involved in all of this."

Tracy turned her head away. His words stung in a way she didn't expect. Of course he'd be remorseful. He'd said when his people got here, they'd go their separate ways. Really, what other way could it be?

"Oh, I bet you say that to all the abductees," she said lightly.

He touched her arm. "Tracy," he said. "Look at me. I know something is troubling you."

She tossed her head. "Not at all."

"Tracy," he said with more seriousness. Rev picked up her hand and held it to his heart. "Remember what I told you? I feel the beating of your heart. I can't help but do that. When you are troubled, I am troubled. Tell me."

She swallowed hard. "This"—she waved her hand to indicate the shelter—"has been very nice, but you said yourself that when your people arrive..." Tears formed in her eyes. "It's silly. We've only known each other a few days. You'll go on with your life, and I'll go on with mine. That's that."

He stiffened. "Is that what you want?"

She stood. "I'm not the one who makes the rules, Rev, and I'm not the one who broke them." Tracy pushed the fabric of the chute aside and walked out.

  * * *

Rev sat, stunned. He didn't understand what had just happened. Last night she was so enthusiastic, and this morning she was making jokes. Then his mate went from smiling to ice cold in sixty seconds. On top of that, she had berated him for breaking his society's own rules.

She was right though. He broke the law when he’d mated with Tracy. She was from a nonaligned world. Not even his own people would sanction such a union, and his family never would.

Yes, Rev had rushed into the mating with Tracy, and there was no way to fix that. She was from another species. Tracy couldn't expect to know what this mating meant. Hell, it was even rare among his people in modern times. They were unalterably paired, and he'd have to deal with the consequences. It was his responsibility to try to make things right somehow.

He had messed things up but good.

Rev got up, pulled on his clothes, and left the shelter to find Tracy.

"Tracy!" he called. "Tracy, where are you?"

When she didn't answer, he grew concerned. He shouldn't have let her leave the safety of the shelter. Rev's heart started to beat harder, as if he were facing danger. He looked around, confused, not seeing any threat, and then he realized it wasn't him. Tracy was frightened.

"Tracy," he called urgently. Rev rounded a large boulder and stopped short. Tracy stood there. Her back was pressed to the rock wall while a large sand-colored snake rose before her. Its open mouth revealed a line of razor-sharp teeth. Tracy's face was as white as a sheet, and she barely breathed.

Rev stared in horror as the creature hissed at Tracy. He had no weapons on him, but he had to do something. He stamped his feet on the ground, hoping the vibration would draw the animal's attention. The snake whipped around and launched itself at Rev.

At the same time, Rev jumped and somersaulted over the beast, landing in front of Tracy. She looked at him with eyes wide. Spotting a few small rocks on the ground, he bent and picked them up, slinging them at the scaly creature. Tracy, taking his cue, did the same, and soon both of them were peppering the animal with volley after volley of rocks. Its body jerked as the projectiles struck. Finally, the animal gave up and slithered to a crevice in the rocks.

Tracy shivered as Rev took her hand and led her away. When they reached their shelter, she collapsed in his arms.

Rev pushed her hair away from her face. "Are you hurt?”

"I hate snakes," she said. She was still shaking.

"It was more afraid of you, I think. It did not sound happy to see you."

"Did you see the teeth on that thing?"

  "Yes," he said calmly.

"Yes? That’s all you can say?"

  "It would have only att
acked if you threatened it. It's an animal, and most of them retreat if possible. You just have to show them a way they can escape."

"It was a snake!" she declared, still trembling.

"Why are you so afraid? It's gone now. As long as we don't disturb it, it won't bother us again."

  She stared at him incredulously.

"What if it bit me? You wouldn't have anything to counteract the venom and—"

"Tracy, is that what you are afraid of?"

  "Of course."

  "Snakes on earth have venom?"

She nodded. "Not all snakes, but many of them do. Some of them are deadly. When I was ten, I was bitten by a copperhead in a woodpile. I was so scared, and my hand swelled right up. I vomited for hours. I was out of school for a week.”

Rev nearly groaned learning this about his mate. It hit him again how different they were. There was so much they didn't know about each other.

Tracy couldn't have known that his species produced a venom that was released with a mating bite. To his own and some other species, it was addictive, like a drug. This particular feature of his people's anatomy was the reason they gave up the old ways to enter galactic society. Otherwise, the AW Council would have declared his planet an interdicted world, and they would have been banned from interacting with galactic society.

He was upset to find out that his mate was afraid of venom. If she knew this about him, she would be fearful of him. It stabbed his heart.

"I can never let anything happen to you, Tracy. You do not know how important you are to me. Whatever you want, whatever makes you happy, I will do it. Even if what you want is for me to go away."

  Chapter Twenty-Six

The rising sun beat down on them as Rev held Tracy. In his strong, muscled arms, she calmed down. Snakes. It had to be snakes that showed him how much of a wuss she could be.

"What was that you said?" she asked. Her heart was beginning to calm.

"I'll do whatever you want to please you."

She reached up and ran her hand lightly over his green jaw. The morning light highlighted the handsome angles of his face, and his lips were very kissable.

She shook off the desire that threatened to spread through her body.

"It would please me to find out how Carol is."

He looked away, clearly unhappy with her desire.

"Besides, you said you didn't know when your people would come, and our supplies are running out fast. Other people are going to be our best chance of survival."

  He nodded.

"You have an annoying habit," he said.

  "What's that?"

"Of being right. As you wish, Tracy. We will travel to the miners’ camp when the sun goes down."

"Yes, of course," she said, burrowing deeper into him. It didn't matter that the air was blast-furnace hot. It felt good to be in his arms.

"In the meantime, we should get out of this sun and get some rest."

"Rest," she said with a smile. "Is that what you call it?"

It was her smile that set him off. In a microsecond, he had his mouth crushed to hers, seeking the sweetness of her lips and tongue. He couldn't help himself, and he didn't want to. Rev's people were idiots for giving up bonded mates just so they could travel the stars.

She groaned under him as he pressed his tongue into her mouth. The taste of her tongue was overwhelming. He had a need to take and fill her. It was clawing at him to lose control. Her skin was fever hot, and every part he tasted pushed him for more. As his tongue roamed her body, her musk filled his nose and clouded his head with one thought.

  Mine.

His cock filled as he pressed against her, and the need to claim her drove him once more. A part of his brain told him this was craziness. No one claimed a mate with more than one mating bite. This wasn't right. This wasn't normal.

  Rev didn't care.

He sucked at the tender flesh of her breasts, leaving big red marks on them. Rev licked her nipple, and it became hard at the touch of his tongue. He clamped his mouth around her entire pink nipple, sucking sharply, hungrily. He needed something more than just her flesh in his mouth. The thought crossed his mind that he might be hurting her, but she arched her back and put her legs around his waist, inviting him in.

His balls, pressed between her legs, felt her juices run down them. She wanted him. Her body called for him. His gums tingled. His fangs emerged from their sheaths, and he pulled his head back to touch the tips of them to her precious skin. At this moment, he didn't care that she feared his bite. She would come to appreciate it in time.

Her hands were at his cock, pulling it towards the entrance of her slick, waiting folds. The instant the head of his cock felt her warmth, he thrust hard and deep, and as he pushed into softness so sublime he could not put words to it, he sank his fangs into her flesh, releasing chemicals that would bind her to him. Her back arched again, and she screamed. It was not from pain. His venom took care of that. It was all primal passion. The rush came from the chemicals he’d put in her blood. The primitive thought pounded through his brain: He’d marked her. She was his.

When his venom was spent, he sucked her blood up through his fangs, taking her blood in and making her essence a part of him. Forever, it would be her scent that drew him. It would be her scent only that would call him to passion. His people thought bonding extracted too high a price, that it restricted their freedom. Now Rev knew that to be foolish. Who could give this up?

The ridges on his cock puffed to an overwhelming stiffness, driving his sensitivity beyond all reason. He could not last long, but he had to make sure Tracy felt what he did.

He stilled a moment and stroked her hair, reveling in the beauty of her face and form. Her body stretched out under him as he filled her, and her face was fixed in an expression of need and desire.

"Please, Rev," she said, a hint of desperation in her words.

She did not have to ask twice. He drew out with a hiss and instantly slammed into her over and over. He lost count of the strokes as he pounded her, gritting his teeth, trying to hold back. He wanted one thing. It was to hear her scream once more.

She did, and the walls that surrounded his cock clenched, furious and desperate, calling for that one last urge that was the reason for the intensity.

With a cry, he came. His seed rushed into her, seeking its ultimate home. He pumped and more sped out, and again, spurting as he exploded, his heart hammered in his chest.

  Mine.

It was the last thought he had before he fell next to her, gasping for breath.

As the sun went down, Rev made preparations for their trip. Together they took down the parachute, and Tracy showed him with pride how she’d figured out how to collapse it into a ball. He drained the water from Tracy's suit into the water pouches, and he made sure Tracy got back into the protective gear.

"It's hot in here," she complained.

"It just feels that way," he said as he smeared the skin balm on her face, "because it's an enclosed space and you are sweating into it. It is designed to keep your body temperature regulated so you won't get heat stroke. It's still too hot out there for you."

"You didn't worry about that this afternoon," she said with a sexy pout.

"You," he said with a smirk, "were more likely to give me heat stroke than the other way around."

"Hah!" she said a self-satisfied smile curling her lips. Then she became serious. "No really, what about you?"

"When I went into the service, they did a number of biological enhancements to ensure my ability to survive in extreme conditions. I'll be fine."

He checked the different pockets in Tracy's suit and felt the knife. Rev pulled it out and saw a dark stain on it.

  "You used this?"

  "Against a land crab."

He slipped it back in her pocket and smacked her bottom. "Good, you can keep it."

"I'm sure you could make better use of it."

"Tracy," he said, giving her a little ki
ss on the cheek, "I am very well trained. There isn't anything that I can do with a weapon that I can't do with my hands or my feet."

Tracy pursed her lips thinking of how rough Rev looked when she’d found him, but she thought it wise not to say anything. No one likes to be reminded of when they got beat up.

"Yes, sir," she said. "I remember just fine how well trained your hands are."

He grabbed her from behind suddenly and lifted her off her feet.

"You keep saying things like that, and we'll never leave here."

"Yes," she said dramatically. "Our bleached bones will be found locked in a passionate embrace."

He laughed. She said things like that so unexpectedly. It caught him off guard, but she never failed to lighten his mood. She acted like nothing was impossible to achieve.

"My little fool," he said softly.

"What did you say?" she said.

"We should start moving. I'd like to get to the camp before sunrise."

Rev took her helmet and used the tracking map to locate the mining camp.

He put the helmet on her head.

"You be our navigator. If we get off track, let me know."

"Yes, sir," she said, giving him a salute." I can't breathe through this thing though."

Rev was surprised. Tracy had impressed him by figuring out the different functions of the suit, but she’d been occupied trying to survive.

"Here," he said, pushing aside a panel in the helmet to open it. The panel slid seamlessly into a hidden recess. "Better?"

"I wish I’d known about that before," she said.

"It is better to leave it closed, but if this makes you more comfortable, we'll do that." He smiled at her.

Tracy was struck at how much Rev tried to care for her. Even during sex, he tried to please her before he took anything for himself. A warm glow threatened to envelop her heart, and she shook it off.

No, she scolded herself. Better not go there, Walsh. This is what it is for now.

As the night deepened, two moons rose, almost bright enough to overpower the light of the stars. She stopped a moment and stared at the two orbs.
