Bran (Fae Shifters Book 2) Page 4

by M. D. Stewart

“There’s also the fact that I’m here on the Earth Plane tracking a Fae criminal and her niece. I’ve been looking for Mori and Lena, but if you agree to mate me, I’ll send others on that mission. There are other things I need to tell you but it can wait. But I still stand by giving you time to know if you’ll accept me or reject me.”

She closed her eyes and dropped her head. He could see her chewing her bottom lip as she thought over everything she had learned. Bran knew it must be difficult for her to come to terms with her new knowledge. He began to lightly rub her back to comfort her but still held her tightly around her waist.

“I can’t deny what I feel for you, Bran. I can’t deny the connection we have.” She wiggled until he let her go. She stood and looked down. “I also can’t deny that I want you and I have since you walked into my bar. I’m not really experienced with men, but I’ve known on some level that what I feel for you is unique. I don’t know where this will go or how we’ll work it out, but yes, I choose you, Bran.”

She smiled. “It’s also hard to say no when you’re sitting there naked and sporting wood.”

He grinned as he grabbed his clothes and stood up and brushed the pine needles and twigs from his skin. Her gaze dropped to his erection before shooting back up to his face. She cleared her throat.

“So, do you just do wolf form or can you turn into a bat?”

He laughed, feeling his soul rejoice in his mate’s acceptance. He knew having a mate would be wonderful, but he didn’t know it would feel like this. “No, sweet girl, only land mammals like large canine or feline. No bats, snakes, mice or fog. Sorry, but physics still applies. Our bodies can only shrink down so far when we change forms. We can shift to a bear, but with a bear shifter camp so close, we don’t out of respect for them. It’s the same if Fae are near wolf shifters, we’d not shift into wolves. There are rules that we teach our young, you have a long time to learn them.”

He had been talking with her and holding her hand while he led her back to the house. Being this close to his mate, who had agreed to bond with him, his desires were growing exponentially. He could hardly wait to get her under him, on top of him and any other position he could dream up. His cock had been hard all day.

“Shifters?” Her steps faltered. “Never…never mind. Will the sun kill you? I guess not since we picnicked in the sun. Oh! You said you needed blood when you shift. Do you need blood now? I have to admit, I kind of find that sexy.”

His heart nearly beat out of his chest. His cock got harder than marble.

“Oh, I’ll take your blood, Josie.” He knew his voice was deeper than normal. He even felt his fangs drop. “But I’ll take it while I’m fucking you.” He heard her intake of breath, and her arousal scent grew. Precome leaked on the tip of his cock. He didn’t know if he could take her and not come in three strokes or less. Gods, he’d been turned on all day. Her riding his cock and coming earlier today, and then rubbing on him moments ago, had him primed and ready to blow.

By the time they reached her door, Bran was nearly frantic with need. “Josie, gods I want you. I don’t know how long I will last. Give me a minute to take care of myself so I can have control and make it good for you.” He dropped his clothes and headed to her bathroom and started to close the door. Josie ran forward and stood in the doorway, blocking him from shutting her out.

“Oh, hell no. Anything on you that ‘needs taken care of’ is my job.” She licked her lips as her gaze dropped to his erection. “Speaking of job.”

Josie lowered herself to her knees, her face coming close to soft skin over his hardness. She turned her head and ran the flat of her tongue around the engorged head. He looked down to see her eyes on him. He locked his knees to keep from falling and leaned into the wall behind him. Her tongue swirled around the head again, before sucking him deep into her warm mouth. The growl escaped and his body felt like it caught on fire.

“I can’t wait to pound my hard cock into your hot, wet pussy, Josie.” His words made his cock jump in her mouth, coating her tongue with precome. Just the thought of finally sliding inside her had him trying to hold off his orgasm. He’d be gone in seconds otherwise. She moaned, sliding her hands up his thighs as she moved her head, sucking hard.

“I’m so close, I’m about to embarrass myself by coming so soon.” He felt her hands wrap around his body, keeping him from backing out of her mouth. His breathing became pants, his fangs dropped longer than he remembered them ever being.

“Fuck.” He panted. “Here I come.” Every muscle in his body tensed as his balls drew up tight and ecstasy flooded his system. She stopped moving her head and grabbed the base of his cock to pump as she sucked and swallowed every shot he emptied into her. Her moans were sending vibrations to his spine. He turned his head to see himself in her medicine chest mirror. His eyes were glowing, his fangs dropped low while his hair was wild around his face.

He looked down at Josie. Her lips were rosy and slightly swollen from sucking him. Her cheeks grew pink as she stared up at him. He forced his fangs to recede then bent to pull her up to stand. One hand slid behind her head the other gently cupped her cheek. He brought his lips to hers trying to show her with his kiss the way he revered her. She pulled back as he licked her lips, seeking entry.

“What’s wrong?” He stared into her eyes, knowing she had to see his love for her. Was she afraid of his fangs?

“Nothing it’s just, I just had a mouthful of your come. I didn’t think you’d want to kiss me and taste yourself.”

“Sweet girl, I don’t mind. I’m going to bury my face in your pussy and I promise you, I’m going to kiss you afterward. Come from either of our bodies doesn’t bother me at all.” His gaze dropped to her mouth a second before he brought her mouth back to his. He slid his tongue deep inside, groaning when he tasted himself there. Her hands wound around his neck as she pushed harder into his body. He eventually broke the kiss and leaned back enough to stare into her eyes.

“Remember I told you that I’m not sexually repressed and that I have had one man in my bed.” She nodded, her eyes never leaving his. He thought he saw desire spark at his mention of him having a male lover. “I’ve had a man’s come in my mouth. I don’t find it distasteful.” He smiled when he definitely saw desire. The fact she accepted his past made her the perfect fit for him.

He took her hand, kissing the palm. “Now, take me to your bedroom. I want to finish what we started on your couch earlier.” She smiled as she pulled him out of the bathroom and down the length of the hall to her bedroom.

Josie knew her life was changing with this one act with this man. Everything about Bran turned her inside out. She didn’t have a lot of experience with men, but enough to know what she felt for Bran was unique and wonderful. She should be scared to death and be running as far from him as possible, but that didn’t feel right to her. What did feel right, was staying by his side and trusting him.

Once they entered her bedroom, Bran stopped and pulled her body to his, her back against his chest. His arms came around her waist and he rested his cheek against the back of her head. “Thank you, Josie. You’ll never know how much of a gift you’ve given me already. I know this is happening fast for you. Your trust humbles me.” She knew he meant it.

She turned in his arms, gazing into the face of the man who held her heart. The intensity in his eyes nearly overwhelmed her. She really believed him and for the first time in her life, she felt wanted and sexy.

She stepped away from him to slowly undress. His eyes began to glow as she revealed her skin inch by inch. She didn’t feel overweight when he looked at her with such desire—she felt like a goddess. She heard him growling low as she stood completely bare and backed toward the bed. His cock already standing straight from his body. He never moved until she sat on the edge of the mattress and parted her thighs.

Bran dropped to all fours and crawled slowly to her, reminding her of a predator ready to strike. She saw his fangs
had dropped a second before his hands made contact with her inner thighs, pushing them farther apart and pinning them open.

“I’ve waited my entire life for this tasting, Josie. To know the scent and flavor of my true mate.” He leaned forward, his tongue sliding at the juncture of her thigh and mound. She heard him inhale a second before his tongue made contact, pushing deep into her body. The warmth invading her vaginal walls had her arching and grabbing his hair. She looked down to see his eyes closed, a look of bliss on his face. How could she not fall in love with him? She trusted him, even with his sharp fangs so close to her sensitive flesh.

He was constantly moaning as his tongue moved up to find her clit, licking and stroking it until it swelled to capacity, then he sealed his lips to her bundle of nerves. Josie felt her body move closer to climax, and her hands fisted in Bran’s hair, needing to anchor herself. She heard and felt him groan, that little vibration sending her over the edge, her orgasm rocking her soul. He pulled away long enough to stare into her eyes.

“You’re so much more than I ever dreamed. How did I live without you this long?” His words washed over her, filling all the empty places inside her. She reached down to him, pulling his body up to cover hers. He smiled as he crawled on the bed, before laying down skin to skin.

“I want to give you more, I want to take it slow. I’ve had centuries to control my body, but not with you. I need you too much, Josie.” Before she could respond she felt him part her legs with his, pushing his long, hard erection slowly inside her. She wanted to close her eyes at the ecstasy she felt but had to see him. She was glad she did. His long hair fell forward, his face her only focus. His eyes were closed in bliss, his mouth somewhat parted, his face slightly pink. When he had pushed until his body was fully seated in her, he opened his eyes to stare into hers. His love for her was so apparent, it took her breath.

“Don’t ever doubt my love for you, Josie. Don’t ever think that you’re not good enough again. You are my world. I’ve waited for you for so long. I love you.” She felt a brush of his mind against hers, a thread of awareness opened between them and his feelings for her poured into her. She gasped at the intensity and somehow sent her feelings back to him.

“Yes. Yes, Josie. Gods, you’re amazing.”

He leaned down and kissed her, staying still inside her, but tenderly kissing her with all the passion that he’d held for his true mate over the centuries. Josie felt cherished, loved and at peace. She was home. Bran was home.

Bran moved slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. “Cuisle mo chroidhe. Vein of my heart.” He closed his eyes as he brought his lips to hers, slowly kissing her again.

She could feel his cock, long and thick and hard as steel moving inside her. Her body responded as moisture flooded, coating him. She heard him groan and he sped up his movement inside her. She moved closer to the edge of orgasm and raised her hips to meet his. “Bran, I’m so close.” He changed the angle of his hips slightly, hitting her just right. Her eyes closed in bliss. She felt him take a deep breath.

“Look into my eyes, Josie.” She hadn’t realized she had closed her eyes until he commanded her to open them. His voice deepened as he began to speak to her in his own language.

“Is tu fuil ‘o mo chuislean, is tu cnaimh de mo cnaimh.

Is Leatsa mo bhodhaig, chum gum bi sinn ‘n ar n-aon.

Is Leatsa m ‘anam gus an criochnaich ar saoghal.

Is tu fuil ‘o mo chuislean, is tu cnaimh de mo chnaimh.

  Now we are one.”

Her body arched, orgasm just out of reach, she felt each word land inside her and bind her soul to his. She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight. His hips began to move faster, his head dropped and without thought, she offered her neck to him. Seconds later she felt his wrist press against her lips.

“Drink. Take my life’s blood into you to seal our bond.”

She opened her mouth against his skin as she felt his teeth sink deep into her neck. White hot pleasure slammed into her as his salty and sweet warm blood passed her lips. She lost control of her body as it arched and writhed under her mate. Bran’s groans, the tug of his lips on her neck, his thick cock pounding in her heightened her orgasm, until she thought her body would snap.

She pulled away from his wrist to scream as she felt his tongue lick her neck and he pulled his wrist to his mouth. Moments later, his lips crashed into hers before his body arched and her name was ripped from him. He pushed deep into her so she felt his balls draw tight against her as warmth coated her womb. His body shook with the intensity of his release. She looked up to see his face as his climax waned, his lips parted, eyes opened to reveal tears. Her heart shuddered in her chest at the emotions he displayed. No one could pretend the depth of love he had just unwittingly shown her.

“My heart. Josie. Mine.” And nothing felt more true or more right.

  Chapter Four

Bran lay in the middle of her bed with Josie sprawled half over his body. Her head was cushioned on his chest, her leg thrown over his stomach while he ran his fingertips over her arm. He’d kiss her head and squeeze her against him every so often, just to make sure she was real. They’d made love and talked for hours. Her fingers traveled in small circles on his chest when she suddenly pushed herself up to stare down at him. He couldn’t stop the smile as he studied her swollen lips and heavy eyes.

“Bran, there’ll never be secrets between us, right? I’ll know if you are hiding something, won’t I?” At his confused nod, she continued. “I know you have told me so much of your past. I also feel you’ve never hidden things from me. But I want you to know, you don’t ever have to pretend something was less important to you than it was. I love you exactly as you are.”

Bran grabbed pillows to stuff under his head as Josie propped herself up to look at him eye to eye. “I’m not sure what you’re saying. If you know I’ve been honest then you know I’ve never downplayed anything from my past.”

She nodded and look down before leaning down to kiss his lips. Her hand braced on his chest as she pushed herself up to look into his eyes again. She sighed as she moved to sit on the bed facing him, biting her bottom lip. He had the strongest urge to pull her down and suck her lip into his mouth and nibble it himself. He felt his cock stir at the thought.

“Bran. I don’t understand everything that’s happening, but I do know we are bonding. I can feel you in here.” She had her hand over her heart. “I feel things that aren’t mine. Does that make sense?”

“I’ve never bonded with my true mate, Josie, but I know what you mean. I feel it too.” He ran his hand up her leg to her knee before sliding it to her inner thigh. His smile was mirrored on her face.

“What I’m saying is, I feel him there.”

Bran frowned as he sat up reaching out to cup Josie’s face. “I’m not sure I understand.”

Josie licked her lips and turned her head to stare at his body. Reaching out, she ran her fingers lightly over the raised mark on his left hip.

Her voice was quiet as she traced the small bumps. “Him.”

Bran felt the air whoosh out of his lungs. “Michael.” His voice was barely above a whisper. How could Josie know the mark was made by him? Only he and Michael knew the significance of those marks. “Josie. You’re my true mate. You. I love you, I know you feel that.”

“I know that, Bran. But I want you to tell me about him, about Michael. Please. I’m not upset, I don’t doubt our relationship and what it means. I’m curious.”

Bran dropped his head. Michael was a part of his past that he had yet to come to terms with. How do you explain to the one woman who was made for you, that a part of you loves someone else? Would always love someone else. He wasn’t sure he’d be as accepting of hearing that same thing from her.

“I met Michael when I was so very young. Fae live, well, as long as they want to really. Centuries to millennia. I was only fifty when Michael and I met and he hated me.” Bran laughed as he remembered walking into Mich
ael’s village with his father, King Devin. “I was taken to the bear shifter camp by my father to learn how true shifters survived in the Earth Plane, how to create and manifest magic away from the Fae realm. I didn’t want to leave Faedom. I acted out in all sorts of ways like a spoiled brat. When we made it to Michael’s village, I saw him standing with his father. Red Bear was the Chief and High Elder of the tribe and Michael was his oldest child. It was assumed he’d take over when his father stepped down. As I would with my own people.

“I can’t explain why I immediately felt drawn to him. I never felt attracted to a man before or since. Nothing about any other male, made me want them. Hell, no other woman had affected me like that until I saw you.” He ran his fingertips gently over her cheek. “I didn’t know how to handle my new feelings. In our society, it’s not frowned upon to have relationships with members of the same sex, but I knew my true mate was a woman. I also enjoyed sex with women. Seeing Michael, and feeling the way I did, made me question my entire life up to that point. I wasn’t ready for something so profound, especially at such a young age.

“Again, I acted out. I tried to talk myself out of my attraction for him by sleeping with lots of shifter women. Not as many as he suspected, but still my fair share. It didn’t work. When I was with them, I’d see his face when I’d close my eyes.” Bran stopped and brought Josie’s hand to his mouth. “I’m afraid you’re going to see me in a bad light with all my whoring around.” He grinned but didn’t stop from licking the palm of her hand.

“Bran, you’re a being that lives for centuries and you have six kids so I know you’ve slept with other women. I also know that I’m the last woman you’ll ever need. I can’t say I’m not a little intimidated by competing with your memories of sex with some of those women, but I can’t judge you for things you did before we met.”

“There is no competition, Josie. Every woman from my past pales in comparison to what we just shared. The connection between us made everything we did touch my soul and take root in my heart. I know you felt it. Over the years, our bond will strengthen. You already feel things that are ingrained in my being. It only gets better for us. We share a soul, a bond that is magical. Trust me, any physical enjoyment I got from other women was just that. I enjoyed it at that moment, but with us, it will stay with me until my last breath.” Bran pulled Josie closer and sat her across his lap, wrapping his arms around her.
