Liv rests her head on my shoulder, until the song is finished. I take in the fresh scent of the shampoo that lingers in the strands of her hair. I look down at her nose and her hands that are tucked in between her thighs. She shifts against me. I close my eyes and sink into the sounds coming from the grand piano in front of us.
Liv
An unopened box of Marlboros rests on the shiny black surface of the piano Zane is playing. Since I’ve been here he’s had about four beers and six cigarettes. I’m certain he’s drunk but by the way he hits the keys to this piano, his thinking seems to be as clear as day.
I sit next to him, occasionally shifting from the movement of his arms as he plays. I take peeks and find his eyes closed. His fingers move over the keys like a professional pianist, which I guess he is.
This bungalow isn’t large like I expected. It’s normal-sized with three floors and three bedrooms here. A recording studio, small cinema, and a large gym are on the bottom floors. A black Harley-Davidson Street 750 sits in the garage downstairs, next to a custom matte black Dodge Charger, that Zane said he never drives.
The place isn’t opulent, despite its address. It’s empty of furniture, which I find a little amusing. Only the essential pieces seem to be here—a sofa, a lamp in the corner of the room, and a box of awards on the floor. I think I see a few Grammys sticking out of one, resting on top of a pile of other assorted trophies. Original artwork lines the wall but it’s all on the floor—yet to be hung. A 4K TV is on the wall. It sits just over the fireplace that Zane seems to get a lot of use out of, since I pick up the lingering scent of cedar that’s been burned here. I’m surrounded by all ambient lighting and wooden mocha floors. It’s chic, with an old style but still modern. This place just isn’t what I imagined a rock star’s home would look like.
I don’t know what I expected but maybe wall-to-wall mirrors, a disco ball and marble tile throughout wouldn’t have been crazy to imagine. I also didn’t think he lived alone at his age. I don’t know why but I thought maybe he’d have a roommate or something—maybe one of the band members. Inwardly, I laugh at my own assumptions.
This song is incredible.
I drop my gaze and watch Zane’s fingers glide over the keys, when he reaches the crescendo of the song. The way he moves his body to the sound of the music. His eyes squint when he hits a note and his lips purse during a glissando. I can tell this is what he loves...the music.
When the song ends, he hits the keys hard. They make a strange sound that makes me laugh.
“That was perfect, I think,” I compliment, kissing him on the cheek.
I give him a round of applause.
“Thanks,” he says almost shyly and I swear I see red creep up his neck through the colorful ink that covers his skin, which spreads across his cheeks.
“It was beautiful. I’ve never seen anyone actually play it.”
Zane lifts one shoulder and smiles. I look across the room, through the floor-to-ceiling glass. One side of the door that leads out to the deck is open, letting the ocean breeze in. The pool is outside to the right, flooded in blue from the light that shines through the water. I stand quickly and pad across the room.
Zane
“This is incredible,” Liv laughs, as she spins around a few times, making her way out to the balcony.
I smile, watching her bright expression. She pulls off her hat, takes off her sweater, kicks her boots off at the door and darts outside. The temperature is a little chilly now that night’s fallen but it’s still comfortable. I grab the stereo remote and hit play, knowing the only album on rotation in there is Pearl Jam’s Ten. Their song Alive begins to play.
I kick off my own boots and follow her outside, taking in the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline.
She leans into the waist-high glass and looks up at the starry sky. Her long blonde hair falls over her bare shoulders. I place my hands on them, feeling her warm skin, careful to keep the cigarette in between my fingers to the side. I take a few puffs and then back away, leaving her to take in the view. I take a seat in one of the lounge chairs and put my feet up. I do a few lines when her back is turned towards me and put the plastic vial back in my pocket. I take a deep breath and a few more puffs of my cigarette.
Liv pulls her dress up to her knees. “The ocean air feels incredible on my skin,” she sings out.
“I’m sure it does,” I hum, taking in the shape of her calves and thighs and thinking of how badly I want to be in between them.
I shift in my seat and run my fingers through my hair. One of the straps to Liv’s dress falls off her shoulder. Then the other drops. She swipes her hair to one side and spins around to look at me, still fisting most of the dress in her hand.
“This is incredible, Zane.”
I nod a few times. “I know.”
She walks across the concrete giving me a look I don’t think I’ve seen before from her. I can’t tell what it means or what she’s thinking, so she has my attention now. It’s a magnificent night. We have a clear view of the star Vega in the sky. The sound of the water crashing against the beach below is enough to lull me off to sleep. Liv comes close and sits next to me, putting her back to me. I rake my fingers through her hair and then drag them over her cheek. She leans into me. I sit, taking in her features. My eyes linger to the tanned skin at the tops of her breasts. They’re full and swollen, just begging to be touched.
She opens her eyes slowly and laughs. “I thought you were going to kiss me.”
“Maybe I was,” I whisper.
“Are you still going to?”
“No,” I tease.
Liv bites her lip and stares down at her feet on the concrete. She looks out to the distance. “Well, then don’t,” she says hopping up from the lounge chair.
She saunters back over to the glass wall and leans over it, placing her elbows at the top. Her ass is round under the thin dress she’s wearing.
I take a deep breath, stand and then drop my gaze to the enormous hard-on in my pants. This woman is going to drive me crazy tonight.
She starts to hum, when she rocks back and forth into the glass, putting her ass on display for me. I inch up behind her and cage her in with my body, placing my hands on the outside of hers. The wind ruffles her hair that tickles my mouth and nose. I breathe the strands in and place a kiss to the shell of her ear.
Liv shivers.
“You okay?”
“Uh huh,” she says but it almost sounds like a moan that makes the head of my dick tingle.
She pushes her ass into me, rubbing and grinding. Instinctively, I push back nearly plowing her into the glass. She yelps. I do it again and moan. I press my nose into her hair. Liv pulls her dress up to her waist and pushes into me harder.
“I want you,” she whispers.
I groan into the warm skin on her neck and drag my fingers up her thighs, letting them linger on the insides of them, taking in her softness. I caress her skin and move to where her panties should be, only to find there aren’t any there. The realization makes me crazy.
“Liv.”
“Huh?” she squeaks.
“Where are your panties?”
She giggles. “I didn’t think I needed them today.”
I growl into her neck and cup her face in my hand, kissing her. I slide my tongue into her mouth hungrily and kiss her hard. She pushes into me, arching her back, creating a dip where the bottom of her spine meets her ass. Fuck, she’s perfect.
“Liv, you’re lovely,” I whisper in her ear.
She blinks slowly, still facing out at the darkness ahead. The sound of water crashing when it meets the shoreline gets louder or my hearing becomes clearer, I don’t know which. I run my hands over the round globes of her ass, digging my fingers into the soft flesh there.
Liv moans and her pretty mouth drops open. I push my fingers in between her lips. She sucks them one by one and grinds her ass into me again. I run my fingers along her slit, feeling the wetness there. She
s ready, so ready.
I undo my jeans and let them drop to my ankles.

The salty ocean breeze washes over my face. I shut my eyes when I feel Zane’s stubbly chin drag along my jawline. One of his hands pulls the straps to my dress down my arms. He presses his mouth into the back of my neck and caresses my breasts with his large hands. I whimper at the sensation when he takes my nipples between his fingers that roll and pinch them. I jerk forward and then backwards into his crotch. He’s hot and hard.
I arch my back even more putting my ass on display. A large section of my dress is fisted in one hand. My other hand holds on to the glass wall in front of me. There’s nothing ahead but the black ocean, lit somewhat by the crescent moon above that shines tonight out on the water. It’s beautiful, breathtaking, and almost as hypnotizing as the moans that spill from Zane’s mouth each time he touches me.
“I want you in my bed, Liv.”
“Wait for it,” I whisper. “You can have me there, too.”
Zane laughs and it vibrates from his chest to my back. His fingers drag up my slit as he holds me tight. He positions himself and I feel the hot head of him, nudging my opening. I know it’s big so I steady myself, gripping the edge of the glass wall in front of me with both hands. Zane’s fingers drag up my throat when he rocks back and then forward, pushing himself inside of me in one thrust.
An ugly whine leaves my mouth, mixed in with an appreciative gasp at the invasion. I’m breathing heavy, listening to his own ragged breaths against my ear. He stills completely behind me, running his fingers through my hair kissing my neck. I’m full to the brim, stretched completely, allowing him into the depths of me. I turn partway and he kisses me hard, consuming my mouth, stealing my breaths from me. His kiss is warm, possessive, and needy. I’m wrenched up nearly on my tippytoes because of his height. He holds me there for a moment. The only other thing holding me up is him inside of me and his strong arm wrapped around my middle.
“You okay, Liv?” he whispers.
I hold my breath at the embarrassing noise that’s about to spill from my lips and nod frantically. I can feel him in my friggin’ throat.
“Talk to me,” he says when I don’t speak.
“Y-yes,” I stutter out.
He begins to move. The mind-blowing sensation spreads through my entire body. The ends of my fingertips are pink from holding on to the glass for dear life. He rocks his body against me languidly and hard. He pounds into my hips with his own so hard, that eventually I’m slumped over the glass railing, staring at the beach below. His chest is flush against my back. I listen to the wet sounds of him moving in and out of me and the desperate grunts and hisses that leave his mouth.
This beautiful man is just as lost as I am.
He cups my face with his hand and kisses me. I’m powerless. I can’t speak. I can only moan and whimper when his heavy weight slams into me. It’s heaven and hell all at the same time. It coils my insides, tighter and tighter. I groan when my thighs begin to quiver helplessly.
“Oh, Liv,” Zane moans into my hair. “You’re going to come.”
He holds onto the nape of my neck and pummels into me for I don’t know how long. His movement is firm and hard, slowing every now and again so that I can feel every single inch and ridge of him. My thighs quiver and I moan. Drool spills from my mouth, along with a choked moan. I’d had sex before but it never felt like this. This feels incredible. I had no control of the orgasm that was building. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
The first guy I slept with rolled up between my legs and went for gold, chasing his orgasm before I could find my own. The second guy was different but even then, I still didn’t come unless his tongue was on me. The way Zane was fucking me, was different. It was commanding and purposeful, like he was savoring every minute with me, absorbing every sound that escaped my throat and in tune with every response my body gave. He was here with me, like really here with me.
He groans loud, pushing in deeper. Sweat drips down my neck, slicking my breasts that are now exposed to the damp air. He squeezes them with his hands and teases my nipples, until I’m a whimpering mess.
“That’s it. Come for me, baby girl.”
I clench and tighten around his length, murmuring things even I don’t understand. He moves faster, harder until I’m screaming beneath his weight. I pant for air, when an incredible feeling rushes through me that I’m sure is going to stop my fucking heart. I grip the glass hard, when my mouth drops open and a long hoarse groan leaves my throat and permeates the air around us. Tears drip from my eyes and soak my cheeks. I’m confused, bewildered and turned the fuck on. I throb and pulse around his length while he holds me tight and splits me open, fucking me slow, wringing the last dregs of the powerful orgasm out of me.
He slips out of me and lets out a succession of grunts. I’m breathless, still trying to focus and find myself in a dizzy haze. I’m semi-aware of the expended energy behind me, right before splashes of wetness coat my ass and thighs. He slumps over me and pulls me in for a kiss.
“You’re fucking incredible when you come, Liv. You sound magnificent,” he says spinning me around to look at him.
I’m still breathing hard. I let my dress fall to my shins and hug my breasts that are still exposed. Zane bends over to pull his jeans up but he doesn’t buckle them. He kisses me hard, pressing me into the wall. He drags his fingers over the side of my face and stares at me. I step closer and put my cheek against his chest, when he pulls me into him. His heart is pounding and his breathing is still erratic. He’s also still hard.
“Ignore that. It’ll go down. I’m fucking exhausted.”
I giggle.
“You’ve never come like that, have you?” he asks, running his hands over my hair.
I shake my head into his T-shirt.
He lets out a soft laugh. “Well, Happy birthday then,” he says, running his fingers along my arm.
They settle at my wrist. He fiddles with the bracelet he placed there when I first met him. I move to take it off.
“I want you to keep it,” he whispers, stilling my movement.
I smile and bury my head back into his firm chest. “I don’t want you to leave.”
He gives me a look and pulls me back towards one of the lounge chairs that’s big enough to be a bed. He pulls a thick blanket from out of a chest and hits a button. The fire pit a few feet away comes to life. Instantly, I feel warmer. He pulls off his jeans, leaving his T-shirt and boxer briefs on. His legs are toned and fit. I want to laugh at how comfortable he is with his own nakedness, while I hug my bare breasts with my arms.
I sit on the edge of the bed and pull the dress up but leave the straps of it to hang off me. I scoot closer to the top of the bed, looking at the large umbrella above and feeling the comfy mattress beneath me. Zane grabs a beer from the fridge. He pops the top and guzzles the entire thing before tossing the bottle in the trash.
Curiously, I observe him. Ever since I got here, he’s had a beer then a cigarette, beer then a cigarette. Then a few lines... In that exact order, at least six times, just tonight. I don’t know how he manages to stand straight but somehow, he does.
He lights another cigarette. Before he makes his spot on the bed, he passes me a soda after popping the top.
“Are you hungry?”
“No, I’m fine. I just feel sleepy now.”
“Yeah, you should,” he mumbles with a sly smirk.
He crawls in next to me and pulls me against his chest, covering the two of us with the thick comforter. I place my hand on his midsection and push his T-shirt up, finally taking a good look at what hides there. It’s cut and carved, exactly as I’d imagined.
“I try to get to the gym when I can.” He laughs. “But sometimes it falls by the wayside.”
I lift my brows. “I think you get there enough,” I whisper, still running my fingers over his warm skin.
“Are we going to sleep out here?”
&n
bsp; “Yeah,” he breathes out. “I always sleep out here. It’s nice when the weather is warm enough.”
My eyes flicker to the fire pit. For a while, I only watch the dancing orange flames in the breeze. The sound of the ocean waves below soothe me.
“You don’t have to call your parents, I’m guessing.”
“No.”
“Okay.” He presses a kiss to my lips.
I shift in his hold. He taps his cigarette out a few times and puts it back to his lips. I snatch it from his hands, take a few draws and pass it back to him, while he looks at me dumfounded. I giggle when his expression morphs into a confused smile.
“Who is Rachel?”
Zane freezes and then gives me a stern look. “No one. Why do you ask?”
“There’s a box in the den labeled ‘Rachel’s stuff.’ She lived here?”
“Didn’t I tell you, I don’t bring anyone here, Liv?”
“Yes.”
“So, okay then.”
Clearly, end of discussion. I still push.
“Have you ever been in a relationship—a real one?”
“No,” he quips. “Have you?”
“No,” I breathe out.
“I don’t really do relationships, Liv,” he says with a small laugh.
“Oh.”
His fingers rake over my hair, while I listen to his breathing. Eventually, my eyes shut.
Liv
The sound of the ocean nudges me awake. Zane is gone. I sit up straight and pull the thick comforter around me. The sky is orange and pink. A pod of dolphins are in the distance, jumping and playing in the water. I squint my eyes looking at the picturesque view in front of me. The fire pit is still lit. A mixture of warmth and crisp salty air surrounds me.
“Oh, shit,” a woman hisses, rushing out onto the deck.
She dips back inside when she sees me. When she realizes I’m clothed, she inches back out again. A smile spreads across her face but she’s slow to speak.
“Good morning. I’m sorry, I thought Zane was here alone,” she explains in a thick British accent.
