Juno doesn’t do relationships and he’s content with that, right until Rome walks through the front door of the tattoo shop Juno works at. Rome is a dangerous man to want, but Juno didn’t join the Salvation Kings because he was afraid to go after what he wants. He’s always looking for a new adventure and being with Rome seems to be the kind that’ll never end. But what starts as a physical relationship soon evolves into much more than Juno ever thought he’d want.

Rome D’Alessio is a made man, forever bound to the Cosa Nostra and his boss, Marco Serrano. Being a gay man in his world is not only dangerous but also very lonely. The latter changes when he meets Juno, a tattoo artist and patched member of the Salvation Kings Motorcycle Club, whom he can’t seem to take his eyes off. Juno makes him want things he’s long thought he couldn’t have.

When Serrano comes under attack, Rome is forced to seek help from Juno and the Kings, putting their relationship to the test. Can they weather the storm long enough to realize that all they want is each other?

  Juno

THE BUZZING of his tattoo machine was loud in the otherwise quiet room. The girl whose wrist he was tattooing was biting her lip, her other hand clenched into a fist. He knew she needed a break but would never admit it out loud, so he lifted the needle off her skin and looked up to meet her blue eyes.

“Let’s take a break,” Juno said and took his foot off the pedal to stop the tattoo machine. “My hand’s cramping up.”

Scar looked at him with disbelief swirling in her baby blues. She knew he was lying but she took the out anyway.

“Okay,” she said, her voice low.

Juno smiled at her and dried off the small bit of blood and excess ink covering her wrist. He pulled off his gloves and threw them into the trashcan. When he turned back to Scar, she was watching him with a wry smile.

  “How’s Janice?” Scar asked.

Juno cocked a brow at her. “Who?”

Scar snorted out a laugh, shaking her head at him.

  “You’re so bad.”

Juno shrugged. So what if he didn’t remember the names of his one-night stands? That’s why they were one-night stands in the first place.

“I just tattooed your name on the back of her shoulder,” Scar said.

“Well, if she wants my name on her skin, who am I to stop her?”

Honestly, women like her did nothing for him. He’d had women fighting over him and he really couldn’t care less. He liked the chase. Liked that excitement it brought. He’d had one too many falling at his feet to get excited about it.

They heard rustling from the hallway through the open door and then Bones’ voice.

  “Hey, you dressed?”

Juno laughed while Scar rolled her eyes.

“It’s a wrist tattoo, dumbass,” she said.

Bones stuck his head inside. “Yeah, but you’re with Juno.”

Scar and Juno shared a horrified look and Scar blurted out, “Ew.”

Scar flipped off Bones and said, “Gross, man. Never. That’d never happen.”

Juno mock gasped. “Hey, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.”

“Again, ew,” Scar said while pulling a face.

“You guys done for the night, then?” Bones asked.

Before Scar could say anything, Juno nodded. “Yeah. We can finish up tomorrow.”

Scar didn’t protest so he figured he’d made the right call. He let Scar deal with her tattoo aftercare herself because he knew she wouldn’t want him to help with it. He cleaned up his station before meeting the others in the front of the shop. Emery, Bones’ old lady was there, talking to Scar while Bones was watching them and looking all kinds of lovestruck.

“Em,” Juno said, a wide smile on his lips.

Emery glanced up at him and when he opened his arms to hug her, she stepped back, pointing a finger at him.

“No. I know exactly where you’ve been,” she said.

“Awe, babe. But I showered and everything,” Juno quipped. “Besides, I ain’t hugging you with my dick.”

That earned him a slap to the back of his head. From Scar. Who then also gave him her best mom glare. He ignored her and swept in to wrap his arms around a protesting Emery. She didn’t fight him too much, so he knew she wasn’t really hating it. She could’ve easily beat his ass. She was Saint’s sister after all. She’d grown up with Saint and Joker so pretty much anything they could do, she was better at.

He put Emery back on her feet and jumped back when she playfully swiped at him.

“So, are we going to the clubhouse? I hear there’s gonna be a party. Lots of booze. Lots of girls,” Juno said and arched a brow at Scar with that last part.

Scar shook her head and said, “I’ll leave the girls to you tonight.”

“Awe, c’mon Scar. Don’t let me have all the fun alone.”

“Babe,” Scar said on a sigh. “You’re just gonna split the second you find someone to fuck, anyway.”

Juno snorted out a laugh. She wasn’t wrong. Not that she was any better. It was why they were such good friends.

He turned to Bones and Emery and asked, “What about you two?”

Bones was shaking his head before he’d even finished the sentence.

“Nope. No, thanks,” Bones said and tugged Emery toward the door. “We’ll leave you to your whoring ways.”

Juno released a mock gasp and put a hand over his heart, then turned to Scar. “Did he just slut shame me?”

“If the shoe fits,” Scar said with a deadpan look.

Juno blew out a raspberry. “Ya’ll are some shitty friends.”

Bones and Emery were halfway out the door when Emery popped her head back through the door as said, “You love us anyway,” with a huge grin on her face.

Juno shook his head, a smile on his lips.

  Yeah, he really did.

  Rome

Rome fought the urge to tap his foot. It was an old habit that only tended to show up when he was in tense situations and this was certainly one. He watched his boss for a second before turning his gaze on the men sitting across from him. Marco Serrano wasn’t a man you wanted to piss off and right then, he was pissed all right.

His father had been a made man and Rome had followed in his footsteps at a young age. He’d been working for Marco’s father since he was sixteen and then for Marco when he took over eight years ago. Marco was a tough son of a bitch, but usually, he was also fair. Not that that made him a good man. None of them were.

“You expect me to believe you didn’t know?” Marco asked the two men in front of them.

Either way they answered, they were fucked, and, from their pale faces, they seemed to know that.

  “I-I but we—”

  Marco cut him off
. “So you’re saying you’re either so god damned incompetent you didn’t realize what was happening right under your noses or you were in on it.”

“No,” Cosimo said, shaking his head. “We’re not behind it and how could we know?”

“How…” Marco breathed in deeply and let the air out slowly. “How could you have known?”

  Yeah, they were so fucked.

“So. Incompetence is what you’re going for?” Marco asked and sighed. “You know, if you’d been honest about trying to screw me over, I would’ve at least respected that. I would still kill you, but at least you wouldn’t be a fucking disgrace.”

Before either of the men could react, Marco had his gun out and pulled the trigger. He fired three times at Cosimo, his body jerking with each hit. The other man was quick to crawl under the table. Whatever made him think he would get away like that, Rome didn’t know. Marco flipped the table over and kicked the man in the head, sending him sprawling across the floor. Rome watched Marco’s face as he shot the man. All he saw was rage, but he knew underneath it was the pain from the betrayal.

“Clean this shit up,” Marco growled before turning on his heels and taking off toward the door.

Rome nodded at Gianni and followed Marco. With Marco’s temper this high, there was no way he was leaving his side. Marco wasn’t stupid but sometimes his temper just got the best of him.

He caught up with Marco at the car and opened the door to the backseat for him. Once Marco was inside, Rome slid in next to him.

“Rico, take us home,” Rome said before Marco could even open his mouth.

He ignored the deadly glare Marco gave him and leaned back in his seat. Marco didn’t say anything and just seemed to be stewing in his rage. Rome pulled out his phone to check his schedule. He noticed he had an appointment with his tattoo artist the next day. The piece on his chest needed a bit more work, but he hadn’t had time the past month. He’d had to move his appointment three times already. He threw a quick glance at Marco. Hopefully, he wouldn’t have to cancel again, but there was no way of knowing with Marco.

When Rico pulled up in front of the house, Marco was first out of the car. Rome squeezed his eyes closed and said a little prayer before following. He headed up the front steps and held back a curse at the open door. He stopped just inside when he found Marco kneeling on the floor, his nephew’s arms around his neck. If anyone could pull Marco out of this, it was Dante. Marco’s love for the kid was as heartwarming as it was terrifying. That love could easily be used against him. It didn’t happen that often. Most people weren’t stupid enough to go after the Cosa Nostra. But some were just desperate enough.

“You should be in bed already, Gigio,” Marco said.

“I couldn’t sleep,” Dante mumbled and glanced down.

Marco sighed and said, “Well, let’s get you tucked in, then.”

Marco stood and picked up Dante who began to talk a mile a minute about his day. Rome watched them for a moment, a smile teasing his lips. Looked like he’d get to that appointment after all.

  Juno

He walked into the clubhouse and headed for a couch. There was some music playing and people were drinking but nothing crazy yet. He found Gabe, Auggie, and Russell on the couches. Auggie had a band-aid across his forehead and was sulking.

“I see the band-aids are making a comeback,” Juno said as he sat down across from Auggie and Russell. “What happened?”

Auggie thrust his bottom lip out in a pout.

“He forgot he had his pants around his ankles and tried to walk,” Russell answered for Auggie.

“It’s your fault,” Auggie grumbled and gave Russell a dirty look.

Juno felt a smirk spread on his face. “What led to you having your pants around your ankles?”

Auggie flipped him off, saying, “You’re such a perv.”

Juno threw his head back and laughed. There was a lot of truth in that and he’d never deny it.

Juno turned to Gabe and asked, “How’s your sister?”

  Gabe snorted and said, “Stewing.”

Juno let out a chuckle. He could just imagine that. Two days ago, he’d been roped into going to some college party and while he didn’t give much for those sorts of parties, the girls had been hot, so he’d gone. He hadn’t been there long before he’d spotted Dara, Gabe’s sister and their president’s daughter. He’d let her have fun for a little while before dragging her out of there. She’d been screaming at him the whole way out, but he was used to women going crazy around him, so it didn’t really bother him. He’d learned to tune out the crazy.

One guy had tried to defend Dara and while it was admirable of him, one look at Juno’s cut and he’d run away with his tail between his legs. Once he’d dropped Dara off at home, he’d only stayed long enough to hear King yelling for a few seconds. He certainly hadn’t wanted to stick around for that.

Joker came walking up to them and one look from him had Juno moving to the other end of the couch, away from Gabe. Joker sat down between them and put an arm on the back of the couch behind Gabe.

“Hey, Joker? Where’s your shadow?” Juno asked.

Joker pulled a face and said, “On a double date.”

  “On a what now?”

“Double date,” Gabe said and leaned forward so he could see Juno. “With Em and Bones.”

“Thank fuck they have those two to do it with now, ‘cause just no. Fuck no,” Joker said.

“Ouch,” Juno said with a glance at Gabe.

Gabe shrugged. “Not really my thing either. I mean, I love Em and all, but I’d just rather stay at home and…”

Gabe trailed off, red spreading on his cheeks when Juno wagged his brows at him.

  “You don’t say,” Juno drawled.

It was kinda weird. Everyone around him was settling down with someone. Even Joker. That one had been crazy. Out of everyone, Joker was the last person he’d thought would end up with a partner. Least of all Gabe. King and Joker had always been close and screwing their president’s son was just a big no-no. Joker still being alive was a testament to how big the guy’s balls were.

  “Juno,” someone decidedly female squealed.

He sighed and dropped his head to the back of the couch while breathing out, “Fuck.”

Gabe snorted out a laugh. “You poor thing.”

Juno straightened to glare at Gabe but before he could, Joker said, “If they start fighting again, I’m throwing them out along with you.”

Juno’s groan was loud, though it was quickly drowned out by Gabe and Auggie’s laughter. When the fuck had his life come to this? Fuck.

  Chapter Two

  Juno

HE YAWNED and rubbed his eyes. He’d gotten home late the night before. Real late. And after nine hours at the shop, he was pretty beat. He went out to the front of the shop and walked up next to Scar who was restocking their piercings display.

“You ready to head home?” he asked her.

“Hell yeah,” Scar said and looked up at him. “And no booze or girls, all right? I have a date with my couch tonight.”

  “Kinky.”

Scar let out a groan and slapped at Juno’s chest. “Not that kind of date.”

Juno held up his hands and shrugged, saying, “Hey, whatever. Who am I to tell you not to fuck your couch?”

The raised middle finger from Scar was well deserved but it only made him laugh.

He opened his mouth but forgot what he was about to tell Scar when someone walked through the door. Someone who was ruggedly handsome and had a dangerous look in his eyes. The guy wore a dark gray suit and there was a bulge in his suit jacket, and it wasn’t because he was happy to see them. From Scar’s groan, he knew the man wasn’t a danger to them. Which also meant he got to look.

  “Stop drooling,” Scar said.

Juno snapped his mouth shut but turned a playful grin Scar’s way.

“You can’t have him,” Scar said and bumped his shoulder with hers. “He’s Serrano’s
.”

For a moment, he thought Scar meant that the man was dating Serrano, but then logic kicked in and he realized that she meant he was one of Marco Serrano’s men. A made man.

“You come on to him and he might just shoot you,” Scar said.

“You think he’d start a war if I offered to blow him?”

Scar smacked him in the chest, making him laugh.

“Don’t worry, babe. I know better,” Juno said.

Didn’t mean he couldn’t look. The man was rugged, yet elegant. His suit looked expensive. Tailored. It fit him perfectly which Juno took his time to admire. He leaned his hip against a desk and watched as Scar walked up to the man. They kept their voices down but it was clear from Scar’s ramrod straight back that she didn’t like whatever the guy had to say. The mobster glanced over Scar’s shoulder, his dark eyes landing on Juno who straightened at the assessing look the guy gave him. There was something in his eyes. Something he couldn’t quite read.

Scar wore an irritated expression as she made her way back to Juno. He straightened and cocked a brow at her.

“Rome’s got an appointment with Bones, but Bones said he’d canceled all his appointments for today,” Scar said.

“Guess Rome isn’t a guy who takes no for an answer,” Juno said with a glance at Rome who was glaring their way, his arms crossed.

“I have to drop some faulty equipment off for Stiletto in like thirty minutes, so I need you to take the appointment. Preferably before he kills someone,” Scar said and narrowed her eyes at him. “Please don’t offer to blow him.”

“Fine,” Juno said on a sigh, as if it was gonna be very hard not to do. Honestly. It would. That man was fine as fuck.

  “Thank you.”

Juno nodded at Scar before starting toward Rome. He walked slowly, taking the time to run his gaze over the man on the way. As good as the man looked in that suit, he was sure he’d look even better out of it. He stopped in front of Rome and smiled.

“Hi. I’m Juno,” he said and shook Rome’s hand.

  “Rome.”
