Forever With His Boss Page 30

Ford parted from the kiss and rolled to his side, motioning for Sawyer to spoon him. Sawyer slid behind him and wrapped an arm across Ford’s chest, placing kisses along the nape of his neck while he used the fingers from his free hand and his teeth to open the packet of lube he’d pulled from under the blanket, then coated his digits and began stretching Ford’s hole. Ford let out a moan. The burn felt too good as pleasure began to spike through his body again.

“Now, Sawyer. I’m ready,” Ford panted out, not wanting to wait a moment longer before his lover was seated inside him, connected as closely as they could be.

Sawyer gently withdrew the three fingers, and Ford could feel the head pressed against his entrance right before he thrust his cock deep into his ass. Ford whimpered with every powerful thrust, the sound of slapping skin filling the air around them. He grabbed onto the blanket as Sawyer started to move even faster. Ford heard Sawyer release a grunt as he plunged one last time inside him, then felt the warmth as his cum gushed into Ford, filling him. Once the shudders ceased, Sawyer collapsed and pulled Ford against him, his lips resting against Ford’s ear while he panted.

Ford rolled onto his back after a few minutes and stared up at the stars as Sawyer snuggled up against him, loving him through the contact. Sawyer began to kiss Ford’s neck, causing Ford to smile. He turned his head, looked into Sawyer’s eyes, and reached up to push some hair back from Sawyer’s face.

“I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time to move indoors.” Sawyer motioned with his head to the small two-person tent that was set up close by.

Ford nodded. “I never even saw that over there, you had me so distracted after dessert.”

They both got up and began to collect the blanket and sleeping bag, then moved everything inside.

“You know, I was just thinking.” Ford’s voice was low as he spoke while they settled down. “The kids are going to be so excited to come here and give some of their ideas. I’m know they’ll have plenty.”

Sawyer smiled. “Plus, they’d love being a part of this.”

That was exactly what Ford was thinking. He nodded. “They most definitely would.”

Sawyer’s face darkened. “We’re going to have to tell the kids about their mom.”

Ford knew he was right, but for a minute, he just wanted to pretend everything was fine and hide it for a little while longer. “And we will,” Ford said. "They have us, though. We’ll make sure they never doubt that.

“We sure will.” Sawyer smiled and moved in to kiss Ford again. Ford pulled himself up and then wrapped his legs around Sawyer’s, spooning him now and giving as much of his strength to the other man through the hold as he could. Sawyer turned his head so they could kiss once more before settling in, Ford’s legs crossed over Sawyer’s stomach, and they remained in that position, one that would keep them warm through the night.

  Sawyer

Sawyer let out a yawn as he stretched before turning and curling into Ford, ready to enjoy the warmth of him. Only there was no warmth and no Ford next to him. He groaned and opened up one eye. He looked to his right and saw Ford sitting crossed legged, propped up on one elbow, staring back at him. The look in his eyes stole Sawyer’s breath and warmth filled his heart. It felt like a caffeine buzz and warm chocolate on a cold day.

Sawyer gestured with his pointer finger, signaling for Ford to come closer. “You’re supposed to be keeping me warm.”

Ford moved in closer. “Is that better?”

Sawyer reached out, snaking his arm around Ford’s waist and pulling him down. “Much.”

Ford pressed a hand against Sawyer’s chest and leaned in, kissing him softly on the lips. “Good morning.”

“Morning, babe.” Sawyer sighed as the kiss ended. He let out a breath and kept his eyes closed, his head on Ford’s thigh. Just a few more minutes was all he wanted.

“We should probably get up,” Ford sighed.

  Sawyer opened one eye. “Or—”

Ford chuckled. “Tempting, babe, but the contractors are here, and we would be giving them a show. Do we really want them to catch us like this?”

“Well, we are in a tent,” Sawyer started, But Ford raised a brow, “I know, I know, good point.”

He sat up. Ford stood, and Sawyer slipped out of the sleeping bag, and they hurriedly got dressed.

“Do we have to pick the kids up, or can we go home for a shower first?” Ford asked as he shimmied into his jeans.

“Home and shower yes. The kids are all getting dropped off later in the morning, so how about we make that a shower for two...”

“You have all the best ideas.” Ford said grinning.

While he rolled up the sleeping bag, Ford grabbed the blanket and folded it and then they both exited the tent.

Sawyer wrapped his arms around Ford from behind. “Did you like your anniversary surprise?”

“I loved my surprise. It was a wonderful way to mark our first six months together.” Ford turned around in his arms, and they shared a lingering kiss. They parted, tore down the tent and stashed it to pick up later, and walked hand in hand through the site towards the parking lot, but then they ran into Drake.

“Hey.” Drake nodded at them, but then his brows drew together. “I saw your cars in the lot. I just didn’t expect to see you…” He looked between them. “Both of you. Is everything okay?”

Ford chuckled lightly, and when he glanced his way, there was a blush staining his cheeks.

“Oh yeah… all is well. We just wanted to check on a few things this morning, get some ideas, things like that. It all looks good so far. Keep up the good work.” He gave Drake a thumbs up, and they both hurriedly left the construction site to go to the parking lot.

Ford laughed once they reached their cars. “Do you think Drake knew something was up?”

Sawyer snickered. “Would you think something was up if you walked in on two guys at 5 a.m.? I mean… I’m sure he had a sense that something was going on if he happened to see the tent before we pulled it down.” Sawyer laughed. “I’m guessing he had an idea, do you mind?”

  Ford just shrugged. “Do you?”

Sawyer snorted. He definitely didn’t mind. “You’re mine, and I don’t care who knows it.” He kissed Ford on the cheek. “At least Drake didn’t catch us pants down, so…”

Ford groaned. “Now, that would have been embarrassing. Let’s go home,” Ford said.

“Agreed! If we beat the kids home, we could have a nice little rendezvous in the shower.” He opened Ford’s door for him and he got in, “Then what are we waiting for?” Ford asked. “Let’s get out of here. I’ll meet you back at the house.”

They went back to sleep for a little while on their very comfortable mattress, and when they woke up again, Sawyer got to enjoy that shower with Ford, his boyfriend wet and naked… best way to start his morning.

They’d just gotten dressed when Savanna called out. “I’m home.”

“Upstairs,” Ford hollered into the hallway.

They heard her coming up the stairs and then a knock sounded.

  “Come in.”

She opened the door the rest of the way. “Hey you two. How was the night?” Savie sort of wiggled her eyebrows, or maybe he imagined it.

“It was perfect.” He shared a small smile with Sawyer, then turned back to Savie, “Did you have fun at your friend’s house?” Ford asked.

“It was amazing!” Savie’s face split into a wide smile. That had him grinning too. God, he loved that look on her face.

“For summer break, they said something about me going with them on their week away. They spend it with her grandma. She says it’s boring, but if there were two of us, then maybe it wouldn’t be so boring. What do you think?” She looked between them.

Sawyer frowned. “You’d be away for part of the summer?”

Savanna thought about it, then slowly nodded. “If you don’t want me to go, then I can tell her no. I just thought it’d be fun, bu
t I didn’t really think about not being here for our first summer together. You know… just forget about it. I can go with her some other time.”

She started to turn away, her head lowered, disappointment written all over her demeanor. “Wait, Savanna,” Sawyer looked over at Ford and raised a brow. Ford shrugged and seemed to want to leave the possibility open. Sawyer faced Savie again. “We can certainly discuss it. If it’s a week right at the top of summer, we could make it work. We’ll definitely talk about it, hun.”

She smiled and nodded. “I’m gonna go unpack.”

“If you haven’t had breakfast, come on down when you’re done.” Ford called out as she left the room.

Sawyer turned to Ford. “Did I handle that correctly?”

Ford snickered. “You’re asking me? I don’t know much about teenagers in general, even less about teenage girls. I do know that what you said about talking about it was good. Besides, she is the only woman living in a house full of men. I think we need to be open to her going off with friends as long as we have family time too. So, yeah, babe, I would say your last suggestion was spot on; we’ll discuss it. Plus, we’re going to want to meet the other parents.”

“It’s hard being parents.” Sawyer walked over and lowered his head to Ford’s shoulder.

Ford's shoulders shook as he laughed. “Someone is being dramatic” He kissed the top of Sawyer’s head, “But, babe… we’re working through it. We’ll figure it out. Plus, them being your siblings does help”

  Sawyer groaned. “Here’s hoping.”

They heard the front door close and then Gavin’s voice. “I’m home. Where is everyone?” he called out.

Sawyer smiled and led the way out of their room and met Gavin at the top of the stairs. “We’re right here.” Gavin smiled and then hugged both of them. “Did you have fun?” Sawyer asked.

“It was a blast. Asher has an Xbox and a PlayStation.” He gave them puppy eyes. “Can I have one, too, pleaseeeeeee?”

Ford shot a look at Sawyer, and they both burst out laughing, and that had Gavin frown. “What’s so funny?”

“We’ve just missed you,” Sawyer pulled Gavin into a hug.

A short time later, Barb and Doug stopped by to drop off Callum, who was ready for a nap, and surprise them with a dinner they could heat up later. Gavin had gone out to play with his Pop Pop while Barb chatted with Sawyer, Ford, and Savie.

When Gavin tired out and came back inside, Sawyer decided it was a good time as any to have the conversation he’d been wanting to have. Barb and Doug offered to watch Callum in his room so he could have the private moment. Not that they needed one, but he knew Ford’s parents were not ready to leave. And Sawyer was happy to have them over any time.

“Hey, you two.” Sawyer walked into the living room to join the kids and Ford.

“What’s up?” Savanna looked up from her phone.

Sawyer sat on the couch beside Ford and turned so he was facing the kids. “Well, we were discussing the resort last night, and we want this to be a family affair. We want you guys to be part of the whole resort experience. Share some ideas for a kids section maybe?”

Gavin’s eyes lit up. “Video games,” he immediately said. “A whole game room… ping pong… arcades… it’ll be sooo fun.”

  Ford laughed. “Arcades. Got it.”

They turned to Savanna. “Any ideas, Savie?”

“A salon maybe,” Savie smiled, “People could get their hair done, their nails done…” She giggled. “It’ll be so cool.”

A smile danced on Sawyer’s lips. “It sure sounds like it,” he said. “I am sure that a lot of guests would really go for that.” Sawyer grinned. “Awesome idea Sav, we’ll definitely have to put that in the works.” He looked over at Gavin, “Just like I think many families with kids would love the idea of an arcade.”

“Any idea for something kids, both boys and girls, would like to have. Any thoughts on that?”

  “Hmmmm…” Savanna said.

  “Well…” Gavin started.

“How about ice cream?” It was Barbara, Ford’s mother that spoke up behind them. Sawyer turned around to look at her. “Ice cream?” he asked. “Like an ice cream parlor?”

“Well, yeah, but I’m thinking of something where people can find a large selection of flavors and get any toppings they could possibly hope for. I saw it on the Pinterest.”

“That does sound like a good idea,” Sawyer said, shooting a look to Ford. He couldn’t help smiling at Barb adding that she found it “on the Pinterest.”

Ford nodded in agreement. “Thanks, Mom.”

It didn’t have to be in the resort, but in town, maybe that could work.

“You’re welcome boys.” Barb smiled at them.

“How about an art studio,” Savanna’s face glowed with excitement at the suggestion. “You can have all sorts of arts and crafts. You could have finger painting for the younger kids. Maybe even have art classes for all ages. I would definitely want to come.”

“Or plays,” Gavin said. “You could have acting classes, or each year the lodge could put on a play. I would audition. Lots of kids would. Even adults could audition.”

Sawyer sat back as both Gavin and Savanna bounced ideas off of them. Some of it wasn’t usable, but he loved the kids’ enthusiasm. When they took a break, Sawyer laughed. “Ask and ye shall receive.”

  “Huh?” Gavin’s forehead creased.

Sawyer chuckled at the look of confusion Gavin had on his face. “I asked you guys your thoughts, and you gave us a ton of great suggestions. Now, it’s just narrowing them down and seeing which ones are best to go with, but we could definitely use many of these ideas. Maybe not now, but later. Thanks guys.”

“I second what Sawyer just said,” Ford chimed in. “You guys have so many ideas.”

“Can we help with them?” Savanna looked between them. “I think it would be cool to help make the ideas a reality.”

Sawyer considered them seriously before breaking into a wide grin, “We would love that. Actually, Ford and I think it would be awesome if you guys were a part of it. We’d already planned on bringing you over to the resort once it is closer to being finished for hands-on involvement.”

  “Cool.” Savie’s eyes sparkled.

Ford and Sawyer leaned against each other and watched the kids. This was their first joint family project, and would be the first of many.

“We need to talk to the kids about Cynthia,” Ford said as Sawyer came out of the bathroom.

“Is Callum down for the night?” Sawyer asked.

Ford nodded “I just got him down.”

He lowered himself to the bed. “I think, then, it’s time we speak to the older two.”

Ford let out a sigh. “You grab Savie, and I’ll get Gav.”

He headed to Savanna’s room and knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Was she already asleep? Sawyer knocked again. “Savanna?”

He slowly opened the door, and there she was, lying on her stomach with her legs crossed in the air, earbuds in her ears and a book open on the bed.

“Savanna.” This time he called out a little bit louder. She startled and looked up, then laughed as she pulled the earbuds from her ears.

“You scared me.” Savie sat up in bed. “What’s up?”

“I didn’t mean to scare you, but maybe the music was up a little too loud,” he said, arching an eyebrow.

“Perhaps.” The corners of her mouth turned up. “All ears now. What’s up?”

“Ford and I need to speak with you. Can you come into our room, please?”

“Gavin too?” Her brows drew together.

He nodded. “Yeah. You’re not in trouble. It’s just something important we need to discuss. I promise everything is fine.”

Her shoulders sagged, and she smiled. “Okay. Good.” She got off the bed and traded her earbuds for her phone, because, of course, they were surgically attached. He let her walk ahead, following behind her out of her bedroom to hi
s and Ford’s.

Ford and Gavin were already there, so she sat next to Gav while Ford got to his feet.

“Okay… so I guess I’ll start,” Ford said when Sawyer nudged him. “Yesterday, I talked to the lawyer who is handling your mom’s case.” He paused to look at both of them before going on. “I know you both realize that your mom is in some trouble, the same as the man who tried to hurt me after our family night a while back, and they made things worse because when they kidnapped your brother. Well,” Ford hesitated, and Sawyer shot him a look he hoped conveyed ‘you can do this. I got your back.’ Sending a shaky smile to his boyfriend in return, Ford looked back to the kids and finished. “Your mother took a deal and has been transferred to a jail in New York City to serve her time.”

“Are we ever going to see her again?” Gavin's voice was small.

Ford hesitated, and Sawyer felt it was time for him to jump in. “It’s complicated, Gav. First off, Ford and I have no problem if you see her again, but…” He squatted in front of Gavin. “Buddy, it won’t be till she’s better.” He took Savie’s hand in his from where it lay on the bed, “She needs to get the right help.” He looked between them before going on. “She’ll be in jail for a while, and hopefully, she gets the help she needs while she’s there. It’s up to her to get better. Then, she can definitely see you guys, if that’s what you want.”

“How long?” Savanna asked. Sawyer turned his attention to her. He didn’t quite know what she was referring to and was about to ask, but Savie clarified, “How long before she’ll be out of jail. Any ideas?”

“Uhhm well. A minimum of eight years.”

Jesus fuck, the kids looked gutted, and that helpless feeling washed over him again.
