Training a Wife Page 4

“Everything will work out. I promise you, My Heart, I’ll make this right. My brother will not harm you again,” Lucas pledged and squeezed her tight.

“He wants me to have his babies. I saw what he has planned for me.” She couldn’t help but share the images of Nora and the room he had been in. “Promise me something, Lucas, Edward. I can’t survive what he has planned. I want you two to promise me you’ll kill me first.” She heard Dred and Rock’s growl in her head.

“No, we would never kill you, but he will never get you. I know this place you saw. It’s only a matter of time now,” Lucas kissed the side of her head.

“Lucas is right. If anything good came out of this, we are very close now and he won’t ever get his hands on you again. I’m sorry, Beth, but you are not leaving this castle till this is over. There will be no outside walks, nothing. But this time you will have all of us helping. We won’t let you down this time,” Edward promised and bared his neck for her. “Drink, you are weak and you need to feed.”

Edward grasped the back of her head and led her to his neck. “Please forgive me, Dred? I’ll do anything to be in your arms.” Beth sent to him as she sank her teeth into Edward’s’ skin and closed her eyes. She waited for his response, but there was nothing.

  * * *

They knew she had fallen asleep, but both of them held her tight, knowing she would need them once she awakened. “Is Dred going to be a problem? I’ve removed the promised one from our home. She is back in her home. I won’t have temptation when he is angry. I don’t know what I’d do if he took another female. I’ve warned them both. I know Rock has heard me, but I’m not sure about his brother.” Lucas snarled, making Beth whimper and pat his chest as if to comfort him even in a deep sleep.

Edward sighed and rolled over, looking up at the ceiling, but kept his hand on his wife. “He’s going to want a public breeding after this. I can already hear his mind working. His pack will demand it even though this is not her fault.” Edward looked over at him. “Dred will not be happy till she is carrying his child again and even then he’s going to watch every move she makes.”

“After what he’s put her through the past month, he has the nerve to ask this. I won’t tolerate it. Maybe I need to finally take him to task, all of you.” Lucas glared at him, but there was also a sexual heat that seeped into the room and surrounded him. Careful not to disrupt her sleep, Lucas rose off the bed and stretched before turning all his attention to Edward.

One minute Edward was in bed, the next he was leaning over the back of side of the bed chair with lube being squirted into his ass. “I was going to wait till later, but now is the time.” Lucas threw the tube of gel on the chair in front of him and pushed one of his cocks into Edward’s ass while the other hung limp, smacking his ass when he thrust in one stroke, not giving him any time to think. This was a claiming and there wasn’t any stopping him either. The damage done to their woman had not only brought out Lucas’ dark shadows but it also finally made their other mate acknowledge what Edward had known long ago; that they were all connected.

“Don’t smirk, Edward. It’s not a pleasant sight,” Lucas mumbled and bit down on his neck, marking him for all to see. “And don’t worry, not a single word or noise you make will wake our woman. I’ve made sure of it,” Lucas mumbled as he reached around and started to stroke his cock. “You’re mine, Edward, all mine.”

Just as Lucas let go and released his seed into his ass, Edward couldn’t hold back anymore. His powerful release covered the arm of the chair and right now he didn’t give a crap. But what had them stiffening were the howls that filled the castle and the surrounding property. Even Lucas’ power couldn’t keep this from Beth who was now sitting up in bed crying and hugging a pillow.

“I’ll kill him,” Lucas cussed and pulled out of Edward as he released his neck. There was no mess to clean as it vanished when Edward rose to go to their woman.

“They all blame me. Can’t you hear how angry they are? I did this. The pack won’t recognize me now. What has he done?” She turned to him. “I’ve lost him, Edward, I’ve lost him.” She lay down, curling up in a ball, and crying silently.

The ground started to shake and a cool breeze blew in the room even though there were no windows below. “Lucas?” Beth whispered and tried to crawl to him, but she cramped up and grabbed her stomach.

“Hush, My Heart, I’m fine. I want you to sleep and heal. I’ll fix this, Beth, I promise. Edward, stay with her.”

“No Lucas, this has to be done by me,” Beth reached out and grabbed his arm. Slowly getting out of bed. “But next time you take Edward’s ass, I want to watch.” She tried to smile, but failed. “Walk with me. Might as well get this over with.” Beth put on a dress she usually wore when it was that time of the month.

“Hell with that.” Edward scooped her up in his arms. “Not a word. If you are bound and determined to face this, you will do it in the Great Hall. I don’t care how pissed off Dred is, you are not going to hurt yourself anymore. Come Lucas, we have a family to put back together” Edward growled and left the room with Lucas right next to him.

There was no doubt his people knew they were pissed as they scampered out of the way. Rock and Dred knew to be in the Great Hall along with his pack. This would end tonight. “His parents are going to be there, Little Witch. I can’t control everything,” Edward said.

“I can,” Lucas grumbled, but Beth shook her head.

“No, then I’ll meet. I’ll be damned if I feel guilty for doing something to protect everyone else. If they don’t like me, too fucking bad. Dred is mine and they can leave my home.” Beth snarled. “I know you sent the bitch back. Thank you for that, but there are others that want to take my place, Lucas. You can’t stop all the females.”

“But the three of us can sure put a few of them in the hospital,” Justine and Claire said coming to walk beside them.

The shocked look on Beth’s face was priceless. “But you don’t like me,” Beth said to Justine.

The woman turned to look at Beth. “Anyone who saves my life is a friend for life. You have gone out of your way to save our people and all those around you. It’s about time the fighting stopped inside and we join together.”

“Don’t think I’m not going to rip into my parents and brothers either about what they did.” Claire shook her head and looked at her. “I lost our first baby and I know what you are going through. You don’t need this pain. You need to be surrounded by your men and loved. Just be warned, I might have to damage my brother’s jewels a little.” Her words trailed off as soon as they entered the Great Hall.

Up on the stairs, Dred stood with his parents next to him, while Rock stood behind them. All around them the pack filled the room. “Put me down, Edward. I’ll walk the rest of the way,” Beth said and squirmed until he lowered her feet to the ground.

But both he and Lucas walked by her side as she made her way through the crowd of wolves. Some growled, but she ignored them while he wanted to rip their heads off. Lucas, of course, growled right back itching to rip their heads off. Finally the crowd settled knowing Lucas was a walking time bomb. Even when they moved up the stairs, Dred’s folks backed up a step.

Dred stood with his feet apart, with only a pair of jeans on. He’d been outside running. Edward could smell the forest on him. With two steps between them, Beth stopped. He had expected her to bow to him, but she didn’t. She did lower her head in submission, but cleared her throat and began to speak to him and the pack.

“You are my heart, my soul and my friend, Dred, but I will not stand in your way anymore. It’s obvious to all that you haven’t been happy with me since you hide your parents from me and the one they chose for you. So I give you this choice now.” Her voice wobbled and her hand went to her stomach as she tried to control her emotions.

Edward was about to step forward when Rock did, going around Dred. “You should be in bed, Beth, my wife, my love.” He cupped her cheek and bent to kiss her, b
ut she moved to the right.

“I will be soon and thank you, Rock.” She patted his arm and turned to Dred again. “I know I can find something in my father’s writings if you really want to be free. You were my friend when I needed one, Dred. We used to talk about everything, but you stopped the day you claimed me. I remember one morning you took me to the top of the tower and had a private breakfast waiting for me with my paints all set up. I wouldn’t allow you to see what I did that day, but I do now.” She glanced behind her and Avril came up the stairs carrying a large painting, covered.

“This is what I see when I look at you,” Beth nodded to Avril who removed the cover. The likeness was astounding. Gasps could be heard from behind them and Edward knew she had impressed some.

“As for your parents, be warned. If you ever bring a female in my home to interfere with my men, you’ll never be welcome here again. I don’t care who you are. To me that is disrespectful and callous.”

Beth held up her hand when his father stepped forward. “No. You chose not to meet with me, to get to know me, that is your decision. But you will not interfere again.”

Beth looked up at Dred who hadn’t moved, but his expression wasn’t that hard anymore. He’d relaxed and watched her every move. “I love you, Dred. Inform your brother of your decision.” She turned to look out at the crowd and that is when he saw the blood dripping down her leg.

“Enough!” Edward swept her up in his arms. “You just had to stand. You’re bleeding all over the place,” he growled and looked behind him at Dred. “If she has hurt herself by coming here, I’m going to take it out on your ass.”

With that he ran out of the room, but not before he watched Lucas deck Dred a good one. “You are my mate, but so help me, if you hurt her again I’ll chew you up and spit you out. Look at what my brother showed her and what she has to live with now,” Lucas snapped and opened up a connection reaching all of them.

“No, Lucas,” Beth cried out in the hall and buried her face into Edward’s chest.

“Hush, it’s about time we all take responsibility here, Little Witch,” Edward said glancing at Rock who was next to him.

“Where do you stand, Rock? Because I won’t have Beth hurt again by you and your brother,” Edward snapped and pushed into their room. The doctors were already there, shaking their heads.

“She shouldn’t have been out of bed, sir,” one of them said, taking Beth out of his arms and laying her onto the bed. “Wait over there please.” The doctor nodded to their sitting area as they closed the curtain around the bed as they worked on their woman. Blood had leaked onto Edward’s shirt and he was shaking when Rock wrapped his arms around him and held him.

“I’ll never leave her side or yours again. I’m sorry, Edward.”

  Chapter Five

The whispers made her open her eyes. Lucas and Edward both stood on the side of the bed talking. “You two have to learn how to whisper without someone hearing you,” she muttered and looked to the end of the bed when Dred stepped through the curtain that surrounded it. Rock went around to the other side of the bed and sat down on it.

“You scared the crap out of us, Beth. You’ve been asleep now for three days. Don’t ever do that again,” Rock said and she noticed the tears in his eyes.

“I’m sorry, but don’t cry. I’m not going anywhere.” She lifted her arm and moaned. “Damn, what the hell happened to me? I feel as if I’ve been working out or something.” She stretched her arms above her and heard bones popping.

“I need a hot bath. Am I allowed?” She looked at Edward and he nodded.

“You’re healed enough, but we don’t want you walking around yet. Another couple of days, Little Witch. You scared the shit out of all of us.” Edward leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

“What happened?” She brushed the hair away from his eyes and he smiled.

“We’re going to let Dred tell you what has happened. He’ll bathe and take care of you today. Right Lucas?” Edward stepped back and questioned him.

“Yes, but I’ll be watching,” he mumbled before sitting down on the other side of the bed. “When you didn’t wake up…” he looked at her and the tears rolled down his cheeks. “My Heart, you are the beat that you feel every time you touch me, literately I can never lose you. Beth, it took all four of them to help me this time.”

He leaned closer so he was inches from her face. “Yes they are all my mates and they have been claimed, but not to worry I’m sure you will see me take them again and again while they bury their cocks into our pussy.” With that, he kissed the tip of her nose and got up.

The three of them looked at Dred before they left and Beth knew they were communicating in their heads. He nodded and they left.

She looked down at her hands almost afraid to look at him. “What did you decide?” she asked.

“Soon we’ll talk, but for now let’s get you into that bath. I know you are stiff and that will help.” Dred came around the bed and threw the covers off the bed looking down at her naked body. “When our connection disappeared, when you fell into that deep sleep, I thought you had done something to separate us already. I panicked and raced here to find out your body had gone into a healing retreat.” He carefully lifted her into his arms. “I did that to you and I’ll be making it up to you for years to come. I’m not going anywhere, Beth.” He hugged her tight before Dred started towards their bathroom.

The tub was already filled and her favorite Lilac bubble bath was in the water. Dred placed her onto the counter before stripping out of his clothes. She would never get tired of looking at his body. He had muscles everywhere she looked. His cock, long, thick and hard, jerked as her gaze flew to his and he smiled.

“Come on, let’s get you in the bath,” he leaned over and once more was holding her tight. The steam rose off the water as they sank in, each of them moaning.

“God, this feels great,” she closed her eyes and leaned against Dred’s chest as he placed her in front of him.

“My parents have left. Going back home. They now realize you are the only one I want. When Edward left with you in his arms and Lucas said his peace, I thought for sure my own pack was going to tear me apart. You, my mate, have a very strong following in the pack. Wait till you see the flowers and baskets of goodies the women have been delivering when they heard you were waking up.” A soapy sponge slid over her breast which made open her eyes.

“You know Lucas’ brother is fixated on me? He won’t stop, Dred. This is more than getting revenge against his brother. At least the spell worked. The connection is gone now. Have they found him?” She looked over her shoulder at him.

“No, but it seems the governing council are now meeting and going over the facts. So maybe we’ll have some luck there. We also know who is working with him. We are close and he won’t get you, Beth. We won’t allow him near you.” Dred snarled and kissed the side of her neck.

“Dred, do you really believe it’s my fault I lost the babies?” She turned to look at him, and Beth watched the play of emotions run across his face.

“I’m not going to lie to you. I believe you shouldn’t have taken that risk, but it’s just as much my fault as the others. But I was wrong, Beth.” He placed both of his hands on her face. “I was wrong to turn away from you and hurt you. We need to come together at a time like this, not fall apart. I love you Beth and you’ll never lose me,” he said before leaning over and kissing her softly.

“Now turn around so I can wash your hair,” he pulled back and reached for the shampoo. For the next hour Dred washed and rubbed her down. They talked of everything just like they used to when he used to when he was guarding her.

As he helped her out of the tub, she looked at him and smiled. “Thank you for this time Dred. It’s almost like when you were guarding me. I miss those times.” She went to jump down from the counter after he placed her there, but he stepped in between her legs and wrapped his arms around her.

“Why don’t you and I have
a standing date every week? We could have breakfast in the left tower?”

“You’d do that for me?” she asked, not sure to trust what she was hearing.

“Yes, Beth, I’d do that for you. I’ve been a fool letting business get in the way of spending time with you. It’s not going to happen again, I promise.” He covered her mouth with his, his tongue slid inside her mouth, caressing and teasing her tongue.

She moaned and tried to get closer to him, but he pulled back and shook his head. “Sorry, Little Witch, we have to wait another couple of days before we can even think about any loving.” He stepped back and looked at the door to see Edward there.

“All she needs is a dress,” Dred said and moved away from her.

“Wait, where are you going?” She reached out and grabbed his shoulder almost slipping off the counter, but he reached back and caught her. “Just going to get you something to wear. I’m not going anywhere baby, none of us are. We all need to be near you for the next couple of days.” He leaned in and kissed her cheek.

  * * *

His woman cocked her head to the side and smile at Edward. “I was thinking.”

“Oh, no that is not good,” Edward teased and moved to stand between her legs. “What were you thinking?”

She laughed and slapped his arm. “I know you and Lucas would like children, but you are not in a hurry. I mean all our children will be ours, but…” he put his finger on her lips and smiled.

“Lucas and I have already spoke and agreed too. Both Dred and Rock need this from you. As soon as you are ready physically. This doesn’t hurt to talk about so close to losing the babies?” Edward asked watching for any signs of distress.

“Yes, but I think that is normal and I believe it would have been worse if I was further along. We hadn’t really formed a bond with the babies as one does as they grow. But hearing Lucas explain that when someone dies they just move on, well that helped. Who knows, maybe they’ll come back to us.” She leaned over and wrapped her arms around his neck.
