The Mission Continues…
The Legacy Project is a national, all-volunteer initiative that works to honor and remember active-duty troops, veterans, and their families by seeking out and preserving their personal wartime letters and e-mails.
We are looking for letters from all of our nation’s conflicts and on any subject matter—love, combat, hope, homesickness, fear, humor, determination, faith, etc. (We have received no wartime letters or e-mails to date by U.S. troops who are Muslim, and we would certainly welcome their correspondence as well.)
Although we appreciate the generosity of those who have offered, the Legacy Project does not accept monetary donations. Nor do we solicit or accept grants, government funds, or any other form of financial assistance. If you would like to contribute wartime correspondence to the Legacy Project, please send a legible photocopy or typed transcript to:

E-mails can be forwarded to: [email protected].
Please do not send us original letters, unless you are planning on disposing of the material otherwise and/or do not want the originals returned. We are a very small organization, and due to the overwhelming volume of mail we receive, it can take us several months and possibly longer to respond. We would be grateful if you would include your address and phone number so we can reach you.
