“Nazareth?” I call to him to get his attention. When his wolf looks at me there is a bit of anger in his eyes. “What is your wolf’s name? I just realized I never asked, and you never told me. That is a little rude you know!” His wolf seems to light up in a wolfish grin and he comes over rubbing his head along my chin and jaw line.
“His wolf is named Dusk, and I am Haze. You know bro she is right, that was just rude of you not to introduce your wolf to her and Snow.” Haze says earning him a growl from Dusk.
“Are you getting in trouble Levi, I mean Haze? He is bigger than you, so be nice!” I say bring Dusk over, so his head is resting on my shoulder as we walk.
“That’s no fun!” Haze says giving his brother’s wolf a nudge with his nose.
“Ok lady and gentlemen we are here!” Geo says looking up to the endless night sky. When we all stop, the ground starts to shake a bit and then seats appear kind of like the ones from the Great Theater. We each take one and then a platform comes out also with higher elevated seats. Nico and Nyx both occupy one of the seats on the platform. This must be the council of the dream realm. I see the light blue dragon from the theater, Enox’s mom. I also see several others I would never have thought were part of the Celestial council or part of the dream realm.
“Welcome and thank you for coming so quickly. I understand you all traveled in your living forms for safety reasons, and it is greatly appreciated. I am Elder Mirmay, it is an honor to have you here Tenelle, daughter of Sue; Keeper of Dreams and Hermes, Messenger of the gods.” Elder Mirmay says before bowing. “It is also an honor to have the Celestial Alpha Twins, children of Sye-wen, the Weaver and Xander, Bringer of sleep. Thank you for coming!” She says looking at Nazareth and Levi.
“The pleasure is ours, Elder Mirmay. It has been far too long since we paid a visit and our respect.” Haze says as both he and Dusk bow to the council.
“Finally, the Solar Celestial Guard has been found! It truly is a time of change! The last time you went missing the boogie man wreaked havoc on everyone, including the gods. No one was safe.” Elder Mirmay says to Mitchel with a shiver and then turns to Enox. “Son, I am so very proud of you! This is a great honor to be given! The cauldron is so excited to meet the new members of your family!”
“Thank you mother, it is I who is honored. To be given a mate after my 24th birthday is the ultimate gift to receive.” Enox says bowing.
“It’s an honor for us to have you here! Now that the 5 point of Polaris have been bound together, we need to keep you all safe. The heavens have felt a drastic shift in power as of late, and the shift is the starting of balance going back into place. We need to continue to keep this balance, there will be many that try to upset it. Which leads me to why we asked you all here. We need to do something about Trin.” A man with rich brown skin, a muscular frame and chiseled features says.
“I agree Morpheus. This is your realm and your children, what do you wish for us to do?” Elder Merlin asks.
“First lets discuss what information we have all found out about my traitress child. From what we have been able to see from Trin’s own dreams, he is seeking power to rule overall, not just humans and supernatural’s. He looks to rule even over the gods. He seeks the power of Chaos, the father of the gods. With this power he could send us all into eternal darkness.” Morpheus says looking fearful of the possibility of Trin succeeding.
“He now needs you Tenelle, to be able to get to Chaos. We have removed his ability to weave dreams, but that may not be enough. He has somehow been able to dream walk, and we cannot block him from doing so. We don’t know where he got this power, like Mary-Anne, he is stealing it from another. We need to find who so we can stop him.” Nico says with a look of pure anger. He wants Trin’s head on a platter for what he did to my mom.
“Is there a way for you to connect to the dream walkers Nico? Like Hecate does with spell casters. I thought it would have been one of his gifts with being a Celestial Guide, or was that one if his lies he used to get Mitchel to help him?” I ask looking to the Celestial Council.
“I, for one have a theory about that, and it is linked to the Solar Celestial Guard’s mother.” Apollo says.
“Yes I agree Apollo. Daxton Mitchel, when was it that your mother died? And how? It has always been a mystery to us that a child of Morpheus’s would not come back to her father to be placed with her kin in the stars. Your mother was a witch yes, but she was also a dream walker. She was one of the chosen to be given this honor.” Goddess Nyx asks.
“It was just after my 14th birthday. We had dinner with Monica and Lucas, Trin and Wyatt. When we got home, mom said she wasn’t feeling well. I tried to help, but when I used my magic to scan her body for spells or poison she started screaming. I stopped immediately, she said she could see what was wrong. She had somehow drank transition serum and someone was draining her powers. I thought that it was her magic they were taking, not her ability to dream walk. So he killed my mother to get her gift of dream walking. He has always been mean and hurtful, but I would never have thought he would murder someone.” Mitchel says looking so hurt and blaming himself for everything.
“Child this is not your fault. Your mother must have seen it, and that’s why she separated your two powers. If he had of gotten a hold of you before you could control it, then he could have gotten to Chaos a lot sooner and we all would be in trouble. She did the right thing, and not knowing where Daxton was made it even harder for him.” Another man that looks similar to Morpheus says.
“Tenelle, Mitchel, Enox, Haze and Dusk this is the god of sleep, Hypnos. The other two are Phobetor and Phantasus, Morpheus brothers. The three of them help rule over the dream realm. They each have their own territories here. Your mother Mitchel was a daughter of Morpheus, but she often helped Phobetor and Phantasus. They were all concerned when she did not return to be placed.” Nyx says with a sad smile.
“Now that we know how Trin obtained the ability to dream walk, can a restriction be put in place, like Apollo did to the Shadow walkers during the day? If so, let’s make things hard for him. No matter whose dream he enters, he’ll be brought to me immediately, so that I am able to manifest the harm I do to him in reality. Of course my mates will need to be with me also.” I ask and I see a wicked grin come across Hypnos’ face.
“I like the way you think, but you can’t hurt someone in the physical realm through their dreams. It would be an amazing gift if you could.” Hypnos says very amused at the idea.
“My Lord Hypnos, she is able to inflict harm through dreams to the person’s actual body. I have witnessed it myself. She did it to Mary-Anne, the human that was stealing magic from her little brother Hayden. I watched as she broke her arm, dislocated her knee, and blackened her eye. Trin had to heal her using his dragon blood, but it caused the infections she was already suffering from to worsen.” Zed says with pride for what I had done to Mary-Anne.
“Really?” Hypnos asks looking at me with amazement.
“Hypnos, Tenelle is going to take my place as the goddess of Night. With new blood taking over, comes new strengths and abilities my son.” Nyx says looking at Hypnos.
“Father, she is strong, resourceful and well trained. I think we are gaining a very powerful leader and group of protectors.” Phobetor says showing just as much amazement. Enox starts to pace back and forth, mumbling to himself.
“Enox what is wrong man?” Dusk asks him.
“Shit, I just thought of something. Tenelle, is anyone guarding your room?” Enox asks.
“No, why? There is nothing of value in there, and it would take forever to find our living quarters anyways.” I answer him with my eyebrows scrunched together.
“The Celestial Map is painted on the ceiling of your room! That’s why I ask; Trin can get to it with no one guarding it!” Enox says sounding worried.
“No he can’t, the map only shows when I came home before. It was something Uncle Adam put in my room. Now with us bound together, we all need to be ho
me for it to show.” I say and see a look of relief come over Enox.
“Oh so you still have my gift! Glad to hear that, did you study your constellations like I told you too?” Phantasus says and a mischievous smirk plays on his lips.
“H-Huh? Uncle Adam?” I stammer out, he continues to smile at me, and I can see it. My uncle never came to visit much, usually it was once every 3 years. I can see it took a lot more energy and strength for him to visit for a week with not being earth-bound.
“Use the map to block them at their origin. That should trigger Manon to come back to us, her soul had to of went with her stolen powers. Otherwise they would have disappeared over time as he used up the magic that it takes to do so. That is why transition serum is needed, it helps those wanting to dream walk tap into their magic at a higher level of being.” Phantasus says. We continued to talk and plan out the best course of action. It doesn’t take long to see that the map on my ceiling is more important to stop Trin, then it is for him to get to the heavens. Nyx gives us an easier way back home. Phantasus said to use the map to block the powers at their source, so first thing to do when we get to our room is look to see how it can be done.
Once back in the Great Theater, we head straight to our living quarters. I can hear the guys grumble about how it would take an eternity to find our room if they had to try by themselves. So there was no worry of Trin, or anyone else for that matter, being able to find it. Once we walk back into the living room of our space, Enox is looking at the ceiling in awe, as the map starts to form and spread over the surface.
“Ok so how do we block the powers on here?” Levi asks looking up at the map.
“That is the question?” Enox says turning to look at a book. I haven’t seen that book before; it’s title says Celestial Star Navigator. I look at the cover of the book and notice that the stars are moving.
“Enox is that book like a model of the star maps? And can it show us how the stars were placed the night Trin stole Manon’s powers?” I ask causing him to look at me surprised.
“It’s like a physical guide, the placement in this book doesn’t change, no matter where I stand. Why? What were you thinking?” Enox asks.
“So the stars stay in the same place no matter where on the earth you are standing? Does it do that for a certain day and year too?” Nazareth asks, I think he has caught on to what I am looking for.
“That book no, but the map on your ceiling will. Do you think if we put the stars in the same positions as that night my mom died, we can keep Trin from stealing her powers and lay her to rest?” Mitchel asks looking hopeful.
“I think we can block her from using them, therefore Trin will take a useless power. If your mom is blocked then the person who steals it is too. That will take care of one problem, the other problem will resolve on its own. Her powers will fade quickly with a block in place because her soul cannot travel with them. Which will give her the ability to find peace and rest with her kin.” I say looking at the map again.
“Enox do you remember what the night sky looked like on September 3, 2015? That is the night mom passed.” Mitchel says trying not to tear up.
“Wait she died on my birthday? I can show you what the night sky looked like!” I say immediately look to the map and starting to move the stars and constellation quickly. Soon they are all back in place for that night. I remember that night because it was the night I took control over the Shadow clans. Zed had gone rogue because his mate killed herself, she left a note saying she could not stand to be mated to a monster like Zed. It hurt him so badly, that I almost had to kill him to stop him from harming others. It was the first time I was also able to not only hurt someone in their dreams, but also hurt them in the physical world through their dreams.
“Zed!” I scream and the Shadow walker along with Geo come in from the hall.
“What’s up goddess?” Zed says looking at me and then notices the map.
“Do you remember the night of September 3, 2015? Is there a possibility that you were in someone’s dream? You did a lot of damage before I beat your ass into the ground.” I say looking at him.
“Not that I remember, and I remember that night very well. Shadow walkers don’t usually have nightmares, we usually give them, but that night is my biggest nightmare. It haunts me and I am still trying to make things right for it.” Zed says lowering his head.
“Well that is the night that Trin slipped Transition serum to Manon and stole her dream walking ability. Can we go back through dreams or memories to block her powers before he steals them?” I ask hoping the answer is yes.
“We would need someone who was with Manon the whole time, and yes we can use the memories to go back and block them. If we do that then the block will take effect from this moment on.” Zed says and Mitchel grabs him in a hug. “Wow, you ok DM? What was the hug for?” Zed asks confused.
“I was with mom the whole time, so I will be able to help, and we can put that little shit where he belongs. He killed my mom and trapped her soul inside of him to keep her powers. He needs to pay for all his crimes.” Mitchel says looking more determined to cause Trin some pain.
“Will Cleo be able to hinder us from doing this? We also need to fix that mess too.” Geo asks looking concerned.
“No she won’t because she is not in Mitchel’s memory, and we can go take care of that after. Also we need to get yours and Thor’s mate out safely. There is more to that whole situation all together, but let’s first take back the powers he stole!” Zed says with a twisted smile.
“Ok Mitchel, you need to go to the center of the room and lay down. The rest of us need to connect to Mitchel. Make the 5 points of a star, Mitchel concentrate on the morning of that day. If we go to that point we should be at a safe spot to block Trin. It will also mean that Manon will travel home when she dies. This will still be the last day you see your mom, I am sorry we cannot change that babe.” I says kissing Mitchel afterwards.
“It’s ok, I will at least get to say goodbye and she will be at peace like she is supposed to be.” Mitchel says with tears coming to his eyes.
“Hecate, we have found a way to stop Trin. Can you place a shield around my bedroom? Our souls need to travel, and I don’t want intruders.” I mind-link her.
“Yes I can do that, just a sec ok?” She replies back to me. Moments later I feel strong magic surrounding my living quarters. “Ok kiddo it’s up. Be careful ok?” Hecate tells me.
“Thank you goddess. Hopefully after this all we need to worry about is Trin’s hideous personality.” I send back. We all connect to Mitchel through his memory of that specific day, and we are all in for a shock.
Chapter 13
~ Tenelle ~
When we all get up from the floor, we are in a small bedroom that is very clean. I would have never guessed this was a 14 year old boy’s room. His walls are lined with celestial maps, and each are detailed with handwritten notes. Others are hand drawn, with great detail and precision for placement. Information on each star in the image has a reference number and is catalogued in a binder on a shelf marked as Map 1 to Map 84.
“Hey who are all of you? What are you doing here?” A young man asks looking surprised when the bathroom door opens.
“Wow, never thought Mitchel would still look the same as he did as a kid!” Levi says. “Ouch! What the fuck was that for?” He whines after Nazareth Gibb’s him.
“Wait how do you know my name?” Past Mitchel says.
“Because I am you 5 years in the future, I will just tell you things get better so don’t worry ok. We need to see mom, is she still in the kitchen?” Current Mitchel asks.
“Yea come on out. She is going to have a heart attack seeing all of you!” Past Mitchel says. We walk out into a small living room and then straight into a kitchen/dining room. Manon is at the stove making pancakes.
“It’s about time the seven of you got here. I waited the last time for you, but you never came. I figure Trin was able to succeed in getting Chaos’s power
s. My sweet boy! You look so handsome; I wish I were there to see you grow into the gorgeous young man you are. I am so sorry for what I did. I should have been a better mother to you.” Manon says with tears running down her cheeks.
“Mom, it’s ok. Things happened for a reason. I want to introduce you to my mate, Tenelle. She is Hermes’ daughter and a Messenger of the Gods.” Mitchel says pulling me over to him and I shake Manon’s hand.
“We need to be careful what we say in front of the younger you. It will affect the future.” Zed says looking at Mitchel sitting eating his pancakes.
“No need Zed, like I said before I was waiting for you. I put a block on him last night after he went to sleep. So he will only remember what he and I did today. You don’t give your beautiful mate enough credit Mitchel, she is a true goddess and one of the seven children, make sure you are respectful, or I will haunt your ass!” Manon says causing me to laugh.
“Manon, I am sorry for this, we need to be quick. The reason we are here is we need to block your dream walking. Trin steals it along with your soul to keep the power alive to cause lots of damage.” I say looking hurt that we can’t let Mitchel and his mom have more time together.
“Oh. That was something I did not see in my vision. Everything else yes, but not that. Yes please put a block in place, on Mitchel as well please. I don’t want anyone to gain his abilities, he is extremely powerful, even for being separated in two.” Manon says with a look a fear of what will happen after today.
“Don’t worry, everything works out fine, and I still end up with your amazing son as one of my mates. He is loved and appreciated by all of us. Nazareth and Levi help keep him grounded and get him to open up about his past. Enox challenges him to better himself for himself and for all of us. As for me, he shows me what it truly means to be loved and wanted. They all do, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side then these four men.” I tell Manon, hoping to relieve some of the fear I see present in her eyes. I walk over to a cabinet, pull out a sacred cup from Manon’s witchcraft materials and place it on the table. Something no one saw me bring with me was a small dagger that my father gave me the day before he died, I pull it out as well and place it on the table.
