Vlayru nodded, “No we haven’t.”
“Is the war that Queen Aida told us about really still going on?” Tana asked.
“Yes. It was bad. Their security and armed forces aren’t that great, which is why we wanted to help. What happened was that in the middle of battle I got separated from my parents and then was captured and knocked out. When I came to, I was back here, in The Resurrects base. Jessix has a gang in a different country called Otrus and reside in Prism City. It seems like The Resurrect was a sister gang to one of gangs Jessix runs in Prism City. I overheard this from one of The Resurrect members,” Vlayru explained.
Tana then spoke, “They must have picked up that you were heading over there and Jessix wanted to use you for her own plans.”
“It’s the only thing that makes sense. Anyways, after I got separated, my parents agreed to have my mom go after me and my dad stayed behind,” he said.
Ansel rubbed his back, “I’m sure it wasn’t easy letting him go.”
“No, it wasn’t. That’s why I need to get him back,” Vlayru responded.
We nodded in agreement.
‘Losing Ryuu would be terrible,’ I thought.
Ansel then stopped rubbing his back and said, “Uhm, can we go somewhere private Vlayru? I need to tell you something.”
“Oh yeah, Sure,” he agreed.
They then walked off around to the side of the house. I looked out in the distance to the other side of clearing of the forest. I saw two people walking towards the house.
“Who are they?” Tana asked.
As they got closer, I recognized them.
“Fayth? Vexus?” I questioned, confused and surprised.
I quickly made my way outside and ran up to them. They smiled, and I smiled back.
“Hey, how did you guys find me?” I asked them.
“Well, it wasn’t easy. But when I called you, I was able to trace your comphone, and it pointed here,” Vexus explained.
“We are here to tell you something that happened to Vexus, Reiko, and I back at the attack on the coffee shop,” Fayth said.
“Reiko would be here too, but she wanted to get more answers elsewhere. She said she would meet up with us later,” Vexus added.
I was confused and curious, “What is it?”
I awoke again. It was the morning still, and I was back in the bed in the hotel. Revolver, who was in the other bed, was starting to get up, followed by the girls. I was sweating bad for some reason. We got up early. We got ready and back in our combat gear, ready to fight.
“Are we all ready?” Revolver asked us, while stretching and yawn.
Something was off about him.
“Are you okay Revolver?” Lilith asked.
Revolver answered, “Yeah I’m fine. Just feel like I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.”
“How long were you outside last night?” I asked him.
Revolver looked around pondering.
“I’m pretty sure it was only for twenty minutes,” He answered.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine?” I asked.
He smirked, “Yeah, after some coffee or an energy drink, I’ll be fine.”
Lilith, punching the palm of one of her hands with the other, replied, “Let’s take Sharik down.”
We all exited the room, checked out, and took off in the direction of the base. We stopped at a breakfast restaurant to get some food and Revolver got his energy drink. We decided not to take any public transportation, as to not endanger innocent people, including someone who would be driving us there. So, we walked instead. The next few hours consisted of walking and taking short breaks. Around the middle of the day, we ate a lunch that Claymore bought for us before leaving Azura Town.
A few hours later, we arrived at the Nightshade Plains. It was a rocky dead plain in the south part of Central Union. The plain extended out into the Dark Empire. Not too long after that, we saw a large group of people walking towards us. When they got closer, we could now tell it was the Hollow Night Assassins with Sharik in front leading them. It was almost time.
Chapter 22 – The Deciding Battle
Sharik halted the assassins some distance away from us. We stopped at the same time. They looked ready to fight. Sharik made his way towards us and stopped close by. He gave a smirk.
“Look at this. The traitors made it easy for us and met us here. That was nice of you,” he said, speaking for the whole H.N.A.
Revolver spoke back, “We are here to stop you.”
“Oh, stop me? From what? Keeping the peace?” he questioned.
“Yeah. I think you have the wrong idea about what peace is,” I argued.
“We are already are in peace times. Your plan will destroy that peace,” Revolver added.
Lilith then spoke, “You’re two-faced. You made us think you cared but all you care about is yourself.”
“How did you come to this conclusion? You were so loyal to me until recently,” Sharik pointed, slyly.
Lilith looked agitated, “I snuck into your room and saw your plans.”
Sharik smirked, “Just like any traitor would.”
“You’re terrible,” Claymore commented.
“This doesn’t have anything to do with you, Claymore,” Sharik responded.
We looked at either confused or puzzled.
“Did you just say my name?” she said.
“How do you know my sister?” Revolver asked, in a demanding tone.
Sharik was still smiling, “Oh, I know more about you and your family than you think I know. I’m surprised Phantom didn’t tell you yet.”
We looked at Lilith, who was looking back at us confused, “Wait, you didn’t know? What he did to me he did to you? Along with other kids.”
Revolver was still confused. I started to get a bad feeling like I knew where this was going. Not only with the conversation but with something bad happening very soon. Like I was going to experience something I’ had already experienced before.
“What do you mean?” Revolver asked.
She answered, “Apparently, it’s his M.O. He finds kids he needs, or finds interests in, and sets up a plan to kill their parent or parents, so he can then take that kid in to the H.N.A.”
Revolver and I were shocked.
I looked at Sharik and asked, “Why would you do that?”
“I didn’t do that with everyone. Just a few I thought I needed. Once I found you, I didn’t really need anyone else,” Sharik answered
“Me?” Revolver questioned.
Sharik explained, “It’s because I saw greatness in you, even though your family didn’t. I needed to set you down the path that you took. So, I took it upon myself. Luckily, you already set yourself up when you ran away as a kid. Then your dad confronted you. You had a knife held out towards him. It was me who gave you one last push.”
It all made sense now. It was also what I feared. We all looked surprised and upset.
“It isn’t too late though. You can still rejoin me. I would more than succeed with the great grandson of Sabre. Lilith and The Master of Time are welcome back as well.” Sharik offered.
Claymore looked at me baffled, “Wait, The Master of Time? Spex, you’re the Master Time?”
“Wait, Master Time?” Lilith questioned in surprised tone.
Sharik smiled, “It seems like you all were keeping things from each other.”
I thought for moment shaking my head, “That title sounds familiar but I’m not the Master of Time. Maybe you mean another person with time powers?”
“Oh yes, that’s right you have amnesia. Which works out perfectly,” Sharik said.
“It doesn’t matter. What does matter is stopping you,” I told him.
“Oh, but who you are does matter to me,” a familiar voice said.
Amongst the crowd of assassins, appeared Nether Remnant and made his way next to Sharik.
He continued, “Spex. If you don’t join us, I’ll be making sure you don’t make it through this battle.

I shook my head, “Why are you so interested in me?”
Remnant quietly processed what I asked him for a moment
Then he spoke, “Are you serious? You really haven’t remembered yet.”
I was really confused, “Remembered what?”
He shook his head and sighed, “Never mind. Weather you remember your past or not, you won’t be living after today. I didn’t remember until very recently myself. Luckily, even though I was a shell of myself, it looks like I managed to do something in favor of my plan.”
“What are you talking about?” Revolver questioned him, confused.
I was trying to process this as well. I felt like I knew what he was talking about, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Remnant looked back behind the assassins, who were waiting for orders.
Sharik looked at him, curiously, “Something wrong, Remnant?”
Remnant replied, “I need to go. You want power. You need to take them out if they refuse join. They will stop you if you don’t kill them here. I will return to you in a few years’ time. I have other business to attend to. I hope you follow through with your plan. Otherwise, we go with plan B.”
“That makes sense. Three of them are the descents of Sabre and Vlaykre. I expect them to try and stop me. But I will follow through with my plan,” Sharik replied.
Nether Remnant took up his scythe and tore into the air next to him. It created a portal that looked like a tear in the fabric of space. I was shocked at what I saw, same as the Revolver, Claymore, and Lilith. Remnant then jumped into it. The portal closed, and everything was back to normal.
“What was that?” Lilith asked.
We were all concerned but Lilith looked confused. Just then, a dark purple portal opened behind the assassins. Sharik turned to see Dark Raven and Crynux walk out of the portal.
I heard Sharik mumble, “So that is why you had to leave.”
Behind Raven and Crynux walked out someone wearing a mid-length black leather jacket, a dark purple top under that with a skull on the front, black jean pants, boots, a black and purple head band, and purple fingerless gloves. The right side of his face was blackened. His eyes glowing purple.
“Lord Yazrix. Good to finally meet you. Crynux and Raven, you have done well. Looks like using the Soul Sigil was a success,” Sharik said.
“Yes, it was,” Crynux replied with an evil smile.
My heart dropped. I was afraid now, and I didn’t know why.
“I thought he was locked away or something?” Revolver wondered, nervously.
“Good to meet you as well, Lord Sharik. Thank you for finding a way of bringing me back. I was told by my servant, Crynux, that you have a business proposition,” Yazrix said.
Looking at him more, he looked just like Vlaykre. I still couldn’t shake this feeling of fear for Yazrix.
“Yes, I do. We’ll go over more in detail later. These traitors stand in the way of getting what we want. I could use your assistance,” Sharik told him.
Yazrix repositioned himself to see us more clearly.
Smiling, he said to us, “I see. This is a familiar sight. I also see that I finally get to meet my nephew in person.”
He looked at me when he said that. I thought ‘Yazrix is my uncle?’
Sharik then said, “Let’s not waste any more time talking. My men will attack first. Whoever is left from their group, we’ll take care of.”
“Understood,” Yazrix responded.
They turned and made their way behind the assassins. We unsheathed our swords and got into combat stances. This was it. We were outnumbered, and I was wondering how we were going to pull it off.
“Attack!” Sharik ordered.
They started running towards us. It was like a wall was coming at us.
“This’ll be fun,” Lilith commented.
Suddenly, someone leaped over us wielding a bow staff. It was Blaze. He did a sweeping motion that blew a gust of wind towards the assassins. It hit most of them in the middle of the group. Of the ones that were hit, some fell over, and others fell to their knees trying to brace themselves.
“You guys need some help?” he asked us with a smirk.
I became relieved and happy that we got some help.
“The more the better,” Claymore responded with a smirk.
Blaze turned to face the assassins and replied, “I had heard of sightings of people marching this way. So, I came to check it out. I’ll take these guys by myself. You guys take the those four back there.”
Blaze then ran towards them, his staff at the ready. He started to fight the assassins. It was amazing to watch him take out assassin after assassin. Revolver looked at us.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s take them!” he commanded.
“Yeah!” I exclaimed.
The girls smiled, and Lilith shook her head. We all started running forward.
“Let’s split up around them,” Claymore suggested.
“Good plan, Claymore,” Lilith commented.
We split up to go around the assassins. Revolver and I took one side. Lilith and Claymore took the other side. I looked over where Sharik, Yazrix, Raven, and Crynux were standing, and it looked like they were splitting up too.
“Seems like they want to fight us one on one,” I pointed out.
Revolver looked over at them, “Then let’s take them.”
Chapter 23 – Commence
After getting around the assassins, we saw Sharik standing right in front of us, waiting. Revolver looked serious and begin to sprint towards Sharik. Before I could try to catch up, an assassin got in front of me. It was Yutsu. I didn’t want to hurt her. I feel like she is friend and I couldn’t bring myself to fight back. She was on the offensive while I was on the defensive blocking her attacks. She looked like she was fighting not to look upset.
“Yutsu, stop!” I ordered.
She continued to slash her sword at me.
“I have to!” She yelled.
I blocked one of her attacks, grabbed her hand, disarmed her, repositioned myself behind her, and held my sword up to her neck.
“Yutsu, please. I don’t want to fight you,” I told her.
“We must fight though,” She said fighting not to cry.
“What’s wrong?” I ask her.
She didn’t respond for a moment and started to shake her head.
“Why did you betray us?” She asked.
I shook my head, “I had to leave because Sharik is evil. The people who he has killed is innocent. He has even forced people into the H.N.A. to do his evil dirty work.”
Yutsu was quiet, I can tell she was processing what I said. She stopped struggling and I let go.
“I think you are right, Spex. I want peace among the nations. Sharik told me that joining the H.N.A. would be the best way to do it. That killing the people that would threaten our goals or even be future threats is the right thing to do. I knew deep down that it wasn’t, but Sharik convinced me otherwise.” She said in an apologetic tone.
I shook my head, “You can fight for whatever you believe in, but killing should not be the answer.”
Our swords locked. I can tell it finally sunk in. We then lowered our swords.
“You’re right. I want to make a difference; To be a hero, just like my Great Aunt. Sharik made me believe that being an assassin was how I was to become a hero,” She said, wiping her tears.
“Great Aunt?” I questioned.
I was lifted into the air and yanked hard away from Yutsu.
“Spex!” She yelled.
I got further away and slammed into a boulder before falling to the ground. Yazrix walked out from behind the boulder.
“How I missed this body. Not only can I use my own powers, but Vlaykre’s as well,” he stated.
I stood back up, “What are you talking about?”
“The Soul Sigil. Crynux used it to pull Vlaykre’s soul out so I could take over. He was then put back in and imprisoned, just like he did with me.
I have control of his body again, and this time it is staying that way,” Yazrix said, smiling as he gave a chuckle.
My blood was boiling. I started to make a fist out of anger.
Through my teeth I said, “You’re going back in your prison, even if I have to force you.”
