“Did he call me a boob?” Caleb protested angrily.

“No, relax. He called you a ‘noob’. That is gamer-talk for a newbie.”

“Oh. Then I guess it fit… HEY! Why’s my guy dead already?”

  “Hey! Wait! I can’t move! I’m getting destroy…oh man. I’m dead too.”

“FEMA, you’re up. Go zap them with some energy so we can play. I’m getting crushed in PVE and I need some backup so I can meta!”

Natalie walked over to him and brought him a soda, setting it down on the end table next to the beanbag he was sitting on. She folded her legs up under her delicately, setting the timer next to her on the table. Nodding, she picked up her basket and began working on the project she’d begun two weeks ago… a baby blanket.

Listening to his friends, reconnecting with the people that affected his life and meant the world to him, all while basking in the love that he had with Natalie… he realized that nothing was more perfect than this very moment.

“I love you,” he said aloud in the mouthpiece looking at Natalie. A chorus of groans sounded in their earpieces, only succeeding in making him smile even more.

“I love you, too,” she chimed in happily.

“Are you two getting mushy again?” Jacob said angrily. “Last time, FEMA quit the game and you just don’t do that to your team.”

“I think I’m gonna go play another game, boys,” Gavin said, wagging his eyebrows at Natalie as she turned beet red. She covered the mouthpiece and began whispering to him, but he wasn’t listening. Nope. It was time to get offline and spend some quality time with his wife showing how much he loved her.

  “I’ll be online later.”

“FEMA don’t you quit! You hear me, dude? Don’t do this again!”

“Gavin, I think your TinyTot has a temper,” Cade chuckled.

  “Don’t call me that!”

“It kinda fits,” Tobin said cheerfully, making Gavin laugh as he removed his headphones and flipped off the switch to the game.

“You know Jacob is going to be really upset when you get back online later,” Natalie said, smiling as he crawled over to the couch, kissing her knee.

“Someday he’ll understand what it is like to be head-over-heels-in love.”

  “I sincerely hope so.”
