Only then had I looked a bit lower in the picture and seen their Golden Retriever and he looked so happy and healthy as his tongue wagged out of his mouth and with his coat thick and shiny, and I remember how I instantly knew that the inspector didn’t deserve it, even if he had been trying to goad me into confessing to a crime he couldn’t prove and had caused Donna some mild distress.
He might not have been much of an inspector, but he certainly didn’t deserve it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Michael Paul Michaud is an author and lawyer in the Greater Toronto Area. An American-Canadian citizen, he holds a B.A. in English, Honors B.A. in Political Science (summa cum laude), and a J.D. in Law. He has also made regular appearances on SiriusXM Radio’s “Canada Talks.”
