“Vulcans? Really? Did you see Enterprise?” Tad said, floating over with an indignant look on his face. “They were all jerks!”
“Well, not all of them, but most of them,” Piper said, nodding at her friend.
“Still, I suspect they would have some common courtesy to introduce themselves. Not just enter a system and float around ominously.”
“We’ll know more when our stealth probes get closer,” Nathan said. “At least, I hope they get closer. We don’t know the range of their weapons nor do we know if they can be detected yet. I hate to say it, but I’m not very optimistic that our technology will be proof against a spacefaring race.”
“I know,” Piper said, sitting back in her chair and chewing on her lip. “I’ve got some other ideas, but for the time being that’s our first shot. It’s not like they can blame us since they’ve been scanning us pretty consistently.”
“Who knows what they think. The chances that they think like us is remote,” Nathan said.
