Djinn Tamer - The Complete Bronze League Trilogy Page 88

by Derek Alan Siddoway

Evolution Line: Sycova > Chimpinch > Chimpilfer > Gorriloot

This tiny simian Djinn may only grow to be a foot tall, but should not be underestimated by their size. Sycovas and their evolved forms possess a nasty array or distraction, taunting and debuff attacks and evasive enough to whittle down an opponent without being touched. They revel in thievery and often bring stolen items to their tamers, who they strive to please above all else.

  Tornawhirl

  Real-world comparison: Dust Devil

  Evolution Line: Unknown

No one knows what the Djinn looks like inside the dust devil that makes up a Tornawhirl. They can be damaged by physical attacks, but constantly keep up a stream of Wind-Elemental energy to remain masked behind whirling wind, dirt and other debris. When they faint, the miniature tornado creates a void that sucks them in, turning them into a gust of wind until they can be healed and resume whatever form it is they take.

  Trollava

  Known Tamer: Fiona Sato

  Real-world comparison: Troll/Gargoyle

  Evolution Line: Trollava > Volcanogre

Were it not for the lava oozing from cracks in their stony hide, Trollavas could be mistaken for decorative gargoyle statues due to their charcoal color, pointed nose, and hunched posture. They are constantly regenerating their hide but seem to be in no pain from the lava excretions. Unsurprisingly, they choose to live in or near active volcanoes.

  Volcanogre

  Real-world comparison: Ogre/ Stone Golem

  Evolution Line: Trollava > Volcanogre

Volcanogres constantly add half-cooled lava to their bodies to replace chunks broken off in battle and to grow larger. Unlike Trollavas, Volcanogres have a much more rounded appearance, like a suit of armor made from stone. There internal temperatures remain hot enough for them to spew fire and molten rock at a moment’s notice.

  Zenix

  Known Tamer: Stephanie Hallberg

  Real-world comparison: Fox

Evolution Line: Fenkit > Zenix > Vulsune > Veloxx

Zenixes rely on speed, agility and taunting debuffs much like Fenkits. Their physical attack increases as well -- primarily the Zenixes’s bites. They have grown into their large ears a bit by this stage and have a longer body, but are no less difficult to catch in a fight. They like to travel wrapped around the necks of their tamers. Their pale, tan fur is both soft and warm.
