“I thought we were just getting to that?” I ask with a smile, but then my smile freezes when she pulls something out of her pocket then opens her hand in front of me.
Inside her hand is a small charm in the shape of a heart.
“You have my heart, and I want you to see that every day when you wear your bracelet,” she says, helping me attach it to the thin chain around my wrist.
“I love it,” I whisper, giving her a kiss and speaking against her lips. “I love you.”
“Good,” she murmurs back, leaning into me and flicking off the light by the door, surrounding us in darkness.
“Lettie, I want to see you,” I complain, not that I put much behind it when I feel her lips moving back over me, swiping her tongue over my jaw.
“No, I want you to feel this. I want every piece of your attention and awareness on my hands and tongue. So close your eyes and enjoy the ride.”
I smile, deciding not to argue with that.
Blackmailing Scarlett’s brother might have been the biggest regret of life, but we have never been stronger than we are now. I might wish I never lost her, but maybe I needed to so I could be sure to appreciate every single second I have gifted with her now.
I love this woman with all my heart, and I know she loves me.
I am never taking what we have for granted ever again.
