by Peter Harris

CHAPTER 27. Rakmad was once a great Wizard of the Order of the Keeper, one of those Travellers sworn to uphold the truth of the Old Order of the Makers and resist the teachings of the Void. But he himself fell into the snares of the Dark Masters when he sought to understand them in order to defeat them. And he became their terrible ally, and soon rose to rule all the Aghmaath on Aeden, from his throne of thorns deep in the thorn nests of the Tor Enyása. And there he wove great deceptions in the mindfields of the inhabitants of Aeden, and brought many to ruin. -Ennead of Aeden, Of the Travellers.

  About us:

John Harris, founder of Greenstone Pictures, (see www.greenstonepictures.com), brings a love of the dramatic to our work. He is the knight-errant of the writing partnership.

Peter Harris is the wizard, and spends as much time as he can exploring the World of Aeden and writing it all down – in between printing books, carving, painting, and building Eutopia, a sculptural walled garden and inspiration centre including the organic Café Eutopia (see www.eutopia.co.nz). Eutopia is a celebration of the idealistic yearnings that create fantasies – and civilisations.

  About Eutopia Press

Eutopia Press is now dedicated mainly to publishing Peter’s work and one or two others. Contact: peter@eutopia.co.nz

Now the ebook rush is upon us and we see the great advantages in it, as in all the brave new world on the web, with its random access to everything ever written or pictured.

However, I believe in the book as sacred object, and in the physical, concrete manifestation of our main ideas and values – especially in books.

So the limited edition book is a work of art and an anchor for our ideas and values not to be replaced by digital editions, no matter how colourful they may be. See the blog for much more on this: www.carvedbooks.com

The Girl and the Guardian, ‘carved book’ limited edition.

And in this spirit, I have started New Leaf Network

www.newleafnetwork.org to help other writers and idealists get their ideas manifested not only as ebooks but as solid artefacts.

  Orders and Feedback

If you want to ask any questions or give us any kind of feedback about the Apples of Aeden pentalogy, Eutopia, New Leaf, writing, publishing, sculpture, philosophy or any other subject, we would love to hear from you.   There is a related story called The Sword of the Fifth element (formerly The Icon of Ainenia),

set in ancient Britain and Aeden.

On the Café Eutopia website there are also medallions of the Boy Raiders, Apple blossoms, Nine Trees, the ring of Korman, etc, which can be viewed and bought there.

I believe in the Dreamweb, where ideas and visions from many minds come together, so any suggestions for the ongoing story gratefully received – there is still time for us to weave in new thoughts, or more about favourite characters or topics!

Thank you for sharing the adventure so far. Looking forward to hearing from you one day soon.

Meanwhile the ebook Volume Two of the Apples of Aeden is available here: Rebels of Aeden.

  See you there!
