“Alright,” I said with a smile. “Are you ready?”
She gave me a look that told me she had been ready a lot longer than I had, though I was the one who had been waiting for her. I didn’t argue with her, I just leaned forward and gave her a kiss. “Let’s go get these family pictures.”
She smiled as she leaned back in the chair, checking on Maddie before we go. She was already going back to sleep, so Ashley slid her hand into mind. We rode in silence for most of the drive, there wasn’t anything that we needed to say. We’d become so comfortable with each other, we didn’t have to fill the silence.
But, when we pulled into the parking lot, I couldn’t help but lean over and give her a quick kiss on the cheek.
“What was that for?” she asked with a blush.
“Because I love you,” I said. She brushed it off, but I knew she was happy. Hell, we were all happy.
We had everything in the world.
