“It’s the biggest relief,” she replied.
I worked for a bit longer before she leaned back and said, “That’s good. Thank you for that.”
After kissing the side of her head at her temple, I responded, “It’s the least I could do considering you’ve worked all day on the ceramics and on growing our baby.”
“Well, if he or she gets any bigger, I’m not sure what I’m going to do. There’s no more room inside my body.”
“Any day now,” I stated, bringing one of my hands to her belly while the other rested on her shoulder.
Tillie rolled her head from one side to the other before she replied, “Thank goodness. I’ve really loved being pregnant, but I’m ready to have my body back. I feel like I’m as big as a house right now.”
“You’re beautiful,” I insisted.
She let out an exhausted laugh and scoffed, “You’re supposed to say that.”
Maybe I was, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t true. I loved Tillie’s body. I loved it before she ever got pregnant and even more now. Over the last several months, I fell in love with her in a completely different way. Watching her body grow and change as she kept our baby safe and healthy did something to me that I never expected would happen.
“Yeah, but it’s the truth, babe. You are beautiful. And your body is incredibly sexy right now.”
My hand that had been at her shoulder dropped down to her breast. I covered it with my hand, loving how much her breasts had changed over the last few months.
“I’m serious, Tillie,” I went on as I stroked my thumb gently across her nipple. “Every time I look at you now, I have to fight my urge to just rip your clothes off.”
“Mmmm,” she moaned. “I’m uncomfortable more often than not these days, but that feels even better than the massage you just gave me.”
The hand that had been at her belly came up to her other breast. “If you need something, babe, just tell me. You’ve been so exhausted lately, I haven’t tried pushing this with you.”
My hands continued to play with her breasts. Tillie dropped her head back, keeping her cheek pressed against my chest.
“I think I need an orgasm, Zev,” she pleaded.
“I can give you more than one,” I promised.
Then I did precisely that. I took my time giving Tillie what she needed right there on the deck under the clear, starry sky. The first time, I did it using just my hand. I got a little more creative for the second and third time.
Once my wife was fully sated and had her fill, I lifted her in my arms and carried her to bed.
Later that night, just a few hours after she’d fallen asleep, Tillie went into labor.
The next morning, we finally got our surprise when she delivered our baby boy, Liam.
And that became the new best day of our lives.

A.K. Evans is a married mother of two boys residing in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Lafayette College in 2004 with two degrees (one in English and one in Economics & Business). Following a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry, Evans realized the career was not for her and went on to manage her husband’s performance automotive business. She even drove the shop’s race cars! Looking for more personal fulfillment after eleven years in the automotive industry, Andrea decided to pursue her dream of becoming a writer.
While Andrea continues to help administratively with her husband’s businesses, she spends most of her time writing and homeschooling her two boys. When she finds scraps of spare time, Evans enjoys reading, doing yoga, watching NY Rangers hockey, dancing, and vacationing with her family. Andrea, her husband, and her children are currently working on taking road trips to visit all 50 states (though, Alaska and Hawaii might require flights).
