My eyes rolled back to the back of my head when her warm mouth enveloped my entire length and she started bobbing her head up and down quickly, pulling away for a moment to spit on my cock and then her lips were back on them again, her hands gently massaging my balls as I began to build up my climax.

And then suddenly- gently- Megan squeezed my balls and I came, just in time for her to pull away and my entire seed was all over her chest. She laughed and then lathered them on her boobs for a moment, giving me a show, teasing me and I groaned, knowing that I wouldn’t get to fuck her again as the sun began to peek from the curtains, filling our bedroom with its soft glow.

Megan giggled and then kissed me on the cheek. “I have to go make breakfast.”

I sighed and then grabbed her hand, tugging her back in my arms and pulling her in a hug. “Just a few more seconds.”

“Violet’s going to knock any second you know,” Megan whispered, “and I’m still naked. We already had some trouble trying to explain to her the Sims “woohoo” thing.”

I burst out laughing and let her go. She wiped her chest off with a tissue and searched for her underwear, slipping it on and pulled on pajamas. “Remind me to strangle Leo and Julian later for allowing her to play that game.”

And with those words, Megan froze, reminded by what was going to happen later and she slowly turned to look at me, her eyes shining bright with nervousness. I jumped out of bed, pulling my boxers back up and then walking to her in quick strides and placing my hands firmly on her shoulders. “It’s today. God, I forgot it was today. We’ve worked so hard on it and I literally forgot it was today...”

“Breathe, babe,” I told her, looking at her green eyes firmly, “it’s going to be alright. We’ve planned everything down to the very last detail and it’s going to be great. You just need to show up and cut the ribbon beside me and you’ll have your first-ever salon.”

“Marie’s,” Megan whispered her mother’s name softly, the name of her new salon, in memory of her mother and I kissed the side of her head, pushing her to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She robotically headed outside and I knew her mind was still in disbelief. All the months of planning the salon, Megan was hands-on with everything but as the days grew nearer to the opening, the more nervous she got that something would go wrong. With someone as meticulous as her, I was certain that nothing was ever going to go wrong.

I could only hope that nothing goes wrong with my plan too.

It was Saturday morning, Violet didn’t have school and I didn’t have work but at 11 AM, we were all hustling around the house like crazy. I was trying to tackle Violet into her dress while she was busy watching a show on Netflix and singing along the song. Megan was trying to calm a crying Atlas, trying her best to feed him so he would be asleep during the event and not cause a ruckus. My brothers were calling my phone non-stop, Morgan called Megan every five minutes just to pacify her older sister’s nerves and assure her that everything was okay in the salon.

We got to the salon fifteen minutes later and Megan was engulfed in greeting people she knew back in Irving to show their support. Her old boss, Nora, was there and so was Pablo, the owner of the food truck Megan told me she sometimes helped out in and Mrs. Barrymore came for the big opening, Violet already by her side and she even took Atlas from our arms.

“Oh my goodness,” Megan whispered beside me as she took in the crowd. Ever since Megan came back with Violet and I, Natasha told every mother in Vi’s school that Megan did her hair and soon enough, every mom in Vi’s school- even the teachers- would come to our house and ask for Megan to cut their hair, paying her a fair price. Evidently, after giving birth to Atlas, she started coloring and other salon specials that she used to do, and I surprised her with purchasing a spot in a new building they built in the city. She was six months pregnant at that time and it took us six months to renovate the entire place into a salon.

I kissed the side of her head. “You deserve it.”

Together, we positioned ourselves to cut the ribbon and the moment that Megan snipped it off, she turned to me with her eyes shining with unshed tears and I pulled her in a hug, proud of what I knew she was going to accomplish with this. The rest of the opening, we were both busy, Megan tending to customers, and me, tending to our friends and family.

At around 5 PM, people began to disperse and the only ones left in the salon were us and our family, Mrs. Barrymore, Nora and Pablo. Violet was busy with Morgan and it was surprising how she was now attached to her new ‘aunt’ and Atlas was fast asleep in Everett’s arms as he talked with Pablo. Megan was sweeping hair and while everyone was busy, I took my opportunity.

I tapped Megan’s shoulder gently and she turned around. Her medium length hair- now golden blonde- was tied in a ponytail and she looked at me, smiling. “Hey.”

“I told you this was going to be a success.”

She nodded her head, smiling brightly still. “I know. I was nervous for nothing.”

I bit my bottom lip, the velvet box securely tucked in my pocket weighing heavily now. “I wish I was as calm as you are right now.”

She raised an eyebrow, staring at me in question. “Now, why is that?”

I fished the box in my pocket and showed it to her with a smile. Slowly, I got down on one knee, the second time in my life, but this time I knew to someone even better. “Because I want to ask for your hand in marriage, Megan. I thought I would never fall in love again but I realized that I only lost the courage to and you brought that courage back. And because of you, I conquered my insecurities.”

“The first time we met was already orchestrated by the universe, a negative over-thinker meeting a strong, independent, positive woman. I met you at a time I was disengaged to the world and you tethered me back, anchoring me to who I need to be for my daughter and eventually and to you and our son. I’ve let you slip out of my fingers once, Megan Ridley, and I’d be a fool to do it again.”

I took a deep breath and stared at her beautiful face, fat tears rolling down her cheeks. “So Megan Ridley, will you marry me?”

She blinked and wiped her tears away, swatting my shoulder with the broom she was using and I could faintly hear my brothers laughing at what she did. “Yes, you idiot, I would love to marry you.”

Behind us, friends and family burst into louder applause and I slipped the engagement ring on her finger, the small diamond glinting under the LED lights of the salon, stood up and pulled her in a hug. “How long have you been planning this?”

I winked at her as Violet ran to us, joining in on our hug. “Since I bought the salon. It was hard to get Violet to shut up about it but harder to make sure Leo kept it a secret.”

Megan burst out laughing and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. “You made sure neither of them said a word but you weren’t really good at hiding the ring.”

I stared at her in shock and she giggled, shrugging. “How long have you known?”

This time, she winked at me. “Doesn’t matter. At the end of it all, we’re getting married. Now, I’m literally more than just a nanny.”

The last comment made me pout. She was never going to let me live that down.

Grief and betrayal may have broken my heart to pieces but surprisingly, love found a way to bring it all back together and made room to fall in love with someone even better.
