“I can either bite any part of your body and leave a mark, or you can…” Rowan sighed. “You can bite me instead, if you want. It won’t have much effect because your bite doesn’t hold any sort of pheromone that will make others know it’s you.”

Cecil nodded. “You can do the marking, then. Can we continue?” He let out a moan when Rowan finally pulled away halfway before burying his shaft back into his hole. Cecil put his hands on Rowan’s chest. “You found it again.”

“Already? We really are compatible,” Rowan said with a grin. “I’m going to attack you now, and there’s nothing you can about it.”

Was this Rowan’s way of teasing him? Cecil’s hard breathing turned into moans as Rowan quickened his pace. Cecil’s mouth fell open, and he threw his head backward. He picked up on the sounds of the bed creaking, and Rowan trying to hide quiet growls. A fine layer of sweat covered them. Rowan’s hair stuck to pristine skin. Cecil took everything in as much as he could.

“Cecil, where do you want me to mark you? Tell me. Quick.” He rested his hands on Cecil’s bent knees and spread them farther apart, pounding his cock into Cecil’s hole.

“Any—” He would answer if he could. Each time Rowan thrust his cock into him, he was pushed a few inches toward the headboard. The blissful feeling kept him in a daze that he couldn’t avoid.

“I’ll keep it where I can see it,” Rowan said. He got a hold of Cecil’s forearm, pulled him closer, and bit Cecil’s left shoulder.

Cecil tried to move away to avoid the pain and shouted. Rowan thrust his cock harder, making pain mix with pleasure. As Rowan panted, his sharp teeth were still lodged in Cecil’s skin.

Finally, Rowan pulled away and licked at the wound. His expression of desire showed a glimpse of concern. “Sorry for hurting you.” Rowan held Cecil’s hips with both hands and thrust his hips in sensual, swift motions. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay.” Cecil held Rowan’s strong bicep and pulled him closer onto him. “Make the pain go away, then.” He looked at his shoulder and saw Rowan’s large bite. It was more marked than bleeding, but it would leave its trace.

Rowan held Cecil’s wrists and pinned them over his head. “My instincts are becoming closer to you. I can hear your heartbeat.”

“What else can you feel about me?” Cecil asked. He was more than glad that Rowan had a closer connection to him, even if he couldn’t feel any of it. If he were a wolf like Rowan, he could.

“Love, as cliché as it may sound,” Rowan answered. “I can feel what you’re feeling as long as it’s intense enough. I’ll easily know if you’re afraid, happy, in love, sad, and so on. More than everyone else.”

Cecil couldn’t help but smile, and Rowan leaned back in surprise. “It feels nice that you’re able to know that.”

Rowan kissed Cecil. “Now I want you to feel lust.” With a hard thrust of his hips, Rowan went on a mission. “Hold on to my shoulders.”

“What do you want to do?” Cecil put his hands on Rowan’s shoulders. He looked down and watched as Rowan slid his hands underneath him and cupped his ass firmly. Cecil shuddered. He welcomed a kiss from Rowan, but was caught by surprise when Rowan gave him a hard thrust that made him bounce away. Cecil moaned against Rowan’s lips as his mate fucked him. The growling, wolflike sounds from Rowan filled the room.

Rowan lifted Cecil’s hips and adjusted him to his convenience. “I want to keep going, but it’s almost time,” Rowan said under his breath. “Feels good?”

Cecil nodded, too much in a daze to speak. He rocked back and forth underneath Rowan’s large and hot build. Each motion from Rowan told him how much Rowan cared for him. As he pounded his prick into him, Rowan lost his rhythm. Each thrust of Rowan’s hard cock was unexpected, and it reached all the right spots. Cecil swallowed hard when Rowan’s thrusting became more intense and deeper.

“Fuck…” Rowan pumped his cock erratically as he came hard.

Cecil followed right after, his hot spunk smearing all over his chest and their abdomens. His mouth fell open as Rowan continued, his rough and contained breaths close to Cecil’s ear.

Only when the initial burst of pleasure ended could Cecil call out to Rowan in a loud moan. Rowan kissed Cecil’s lips several times before his hips came to a stop. Cecil slipped his hands from Rowan’s shoulders, and he went limp, panting and trying to catch his breath again.

“It went better than I expected,” Rowan said, already regaining his composure. “Are you all right, Cecil?” He pecked Cecil’s lips and lay next to him with a thud.

With a deep breath, Cecil finally relaxed from the aftershocks, but still needed to control his breathing. “Don’t worry. If I’m not okay, I can tell you.” He lay on his side, facing Rowan. “Thanks for loving me,” he said in a whisper.

“You too.” Rowan caressed Cecil’s cheek. “The pack members in the house might have heard us. Are you all right with that?” he asked and wrapped one of his arms around Cecil. Rowan pulled him into a tight embrace.

Cecil enjoyed the comfort his mate offered to him. He couldn’t believe he and Rowan were mates, that Rowan had marked him so everyone knew they belonged to each other. “It’s a bit embarrassing, but I couldn’t help it.”

Rowan chuckled, his expression soothing Cecil. “I’m sure they either went outside or shut down their wolf senses. Now, we should take a shower. It’s going to be our first shower together.”

  Chapter Fourteen

“We’re doing many first things together,” Cecil said with a smile.

Rowan got out of bed, and Cecil followed him to the bathroom. He sensed Cecil’s heart skipping when he held his hand. When they walked into the bathroom, he got the shower ready. “You’re going to wear my clothes this time,” Rowan said, glancing over at Cecil while he checked the water temperature. He got under the steaming water spray and motioned Cecil to join him.

“I don’t mind. You smell nice,” Cecil said.

“You’ve been expressing yourself a lot more since you returned. I like that.” Rowan rested his hands on Cecil’s shoulders and turned his back to the tile wall. “Are you cold?” he asked, and Ceil shook his head. Rowan moved his hands down to Cecil’s hips and pulled him against him. Their pricks barely touched due to their height difference. He kissed Cecil and slid his tongue past his soft lips.

Cecil moaned against Rowan’s lips. He got on his tiptoes and wrapped his arms around Rowan’s neck. It seemed that Cecil had picked up on how to kiss. He’d been improving, as well as becoming more daring.

Rowan reached between them and grinned when he touched Cecil’s hard shaft. He held it in his hand and stroked it as he kissed Cecil. He had expected Cecil to be too tired after mating, but it was the opposite. Cecil’s quick heartbeat helped him to please him even more.

“You know what to do. Have you done this before?” Cecil asked in a daze.

For a moment, Rowan gave Cecil a blank look. “Well, I’ve been with other people before, but they weren’t my mates. I’m thirty, after all.”

“You’re thirty?” Cecil nearly shouted. “I thought you were twenty-six or something.”

Rowan raised a brow. “Are you upset that I’m older?”

Cecil looked away. “It’s not a problem. I just didn’t expect it. I should’ve known something like this much sooner.”

“We have plenty of time to know more about each other.” Rowan continued to stroke Cecil’s cock. He had kept his hand on it so Cecil wouldn’t go soft. Cecil buried his face against Rowan’s chest. The feeling of love emanated from Cecil. Rowan pinned him against the wall and kissed him deeply.

“What about you?” Cecil asked before Rowan kissed him again. “Do you want me to do it, too?”

Rowan gazed into Cecil’s eyes. “No need. I want our first moments to be about you.” He picked Cecil up and wrapped his legs around his waist. “We can go again if you feel like it. I’m definitely up for it.” He chuckled when Cecil’s heart skipped several times. Cecil wrapped his arms around h
im and put his face against the curve of Rowan’s neck. His silence said everything.

Cecil groaned out when Rowan pressed the tip of his cock against his hole. “I’m not sure I’m as comfortable as before.”

“We can stop, if you want,” Rowan said, pulling out. He had a pleasant surprise when Cecil moved down and impaled himself on his cock. “I guess we have to continue now.” He pinned Cecil against the tile wall and thrust his prick into Cecil’s clenching hole. The way Cecil breathed hard in lust made him feel alive. He had a mate by his side who yearned for him. Their time apart had taken his mind for a spin.

Cecil crossed his ankles behind Rowan as he rocked up and down. “I like your sounds,” Cecil said quietly.

Rowan attacked Cecil’s lips with his. As he kissed Cecil, he squeezed Cecil’s ass in his hands, causing Cecil to let out a moan close to his ear. Rowan moved Cecil down and laid him on the shallow pool of hot water. He wanted to keep Cecil warm, and he also didn’t want to slip.

“You found it again,” Cecil said in a daze. He put his hands on the tile wall behind his head and took Rowan’s cock.

“Did I?” Rowan asked with a grin and nibbled one of Cecil’s nipples while stroking his cock. Hot water splashed all over them, the walls, and the opaque shower doors. Their groans echoed in the bathroom.

Cecil shouted and came right then and there, but Rowan continued to pump his cock to his own pleasure. He gazed as Cecil arched against him and gripped his bicep with one hand.

Rowan growled under his breath at how Cecil squeezed his shaft. His orgasm surfaced and he came hard, unable to move with how Cecil’s legs surrounded him. He loved how Cecil hadn’t minded to make this a quick one instead of savoring the moment like before. He already knew his relationship with Cecil was going to be a rather spicy one.

He pulled out and put Cecil down. He had to hold Cecil up due to his wobbly legs. “Let’s rinse off.” Rowan sprayed hot water over him and Cecil one last time before leading Cecil into the bedroom. “Are you tired?”

“More than I expected,” Cecil said quietly. He got in bed and let out a sigh.

Rowan went to the closet and took something for Cecil to wear and for himself. He returned to the bed and handed a pair of sweatpants and a black T-shirt to Cecil, while he put on a similar combination, but with a blood-red T-shirt instead. “Are you hungry?”

“Not right now,” Cecil said. Rowan climbed onto the bed and Cecil cuddled up to him. “What about you?”

“Not right now,” Rowan said with a smile. He pulled Cecil into a hug as he sat against the headboard and enjoyed the quietness between them.

  * * * *

Cecil opened his eyes and gazed at Rowan, who seemed to be asleep in his seated position. He took in Rowan’s features, the way his facial hair had started to create a slight dark shade on his cheeks and jaw. It seemed that Rowan had been too worried about him having stayed at Garth’s house.

He sat up as soon as a loud snarl vibrated the house from outside. Rowan jumped out of bed swiftly.

The window broke. A dark shadow came through it at high speed and tackled Rowan. Rowan landed on his back on the floor with a loud thud. Cecil pressed against the headboard, staring and trying to figure out what was going on. He finally noticed it was Garth’s wolf form that pinned Rowan to the bedroom floor. Garth breathed hard, the glint in his yellow eyes and fangs revealing murderous intent toward Rowan.

“Yes, my mate wanted me to mark him,” Rowan said, looking straight into Garth’s eyes. “Get into your head that he’s mine and get over it. Find a mate for yourself.”

Cecil’s heart skipped at Rowan’s words. Rowan glanced at him, as if knowing that. “Garth, don’t hurt Rowan, please,” Cecil said. He stayed very still. Garth seemed to be irrational, unable to think before he could take things overboard. He knew that sort of behavior all too well.

Garth turned his head to Cecil, covering his fangs and erasing the deadly look. He melted back into his human form and stood, naked. “Cecil, I know you’re his mate, but I didn’t think you’d allow him to mark you this soon.”

“He asked—” Rowan got cut off when Garth stomped on his stomach, causing Rowan to hug his waist and cough. Within a second to recover, Rowan gripped Garth’s ankle.

Cecil scowled at Garth, which took Garth and Rowan by surprise. “Why don’t you ever listen to me even once? Is my request that insignificant to you?”

“Cecil,” Garth said, approaching Cecil. He grumbled when Cecil jumped out of bed to stay away. “I’m not going to hurt you. I just need to mark you. If you want Rowan as your mate, I’ll be yours, as well.” He jumped over to the other side of the bed and got hold of Cecil’s wrist.

Rowan stood and shoved Garth away, making him take a few steps away from Cecil and fall through the closet doors. “Don’t dare scare my mate. He doesn’t want to be your mate. Leave!”

Cecil went over to Rowan and hugged him tight. “What’s going on with Garth?”

“I know what it feels like,” Rowan said, resting his arm around Cecil. “It hurts him to stay away from you, physically and mentally. Now that I marked you, it hurts even more. All he wants is for the pain to stop. But I can’t give you up. He has to stay away from you for three days until it leaves his system. If he doesn’t see you, the pull will fade away.”

“I see.” Cecil gazed at Garth. He didn’t know what to do, but he also couldn’t choose to be with Garth, no matter how much he didn’t want to hurt his feelings. “Garth, I think it’s best if you go home.”

Garth moved a piece of wood off of him and got up. “I don’t care about the pain, because I know I can take it. What I want to take the most is you, Cecil. I need to hold you, kiss you…”

“I can’t,” Cecil said, turning his head down. “I know you’re reacting like this because you’re upset, but I know you’re a nice person. You wouldn’t be my mate otherwise. So, please, think before you do something you shouldn’t.”

Rowan gazed at Cecil before he glared at Garth. “You have Cecil’s sympathy. Take it with you and leave. As much as you desire it, I can’t allow you to be Cecil’s second mate. I’m too selfish and possessive toward him.”

“That has always been your flaw,” Garth said, his eyes narrowed at Rowan. “As wolves, let’s solve this the old-fashioned way. I’ll make this fair for you.” He grabbed any pair of pants owned by Rowan that he could find and put them on. He had a larger build than Rowan, so the sweatpants sat a tad tight on his thighs.

Cecil held on to Rowan. “I can’t let you hurt Rowan. You’ve done enough, Garth. If you hurt him, that doesn’t mean I’ll go with you.”

“You’ll grow to love me,” Garth said and went quiet for a moment. “You’re my mate for that same reason. I can make you forget about Rowan much quicker than you think.”

Rowan sighed, drawing Garth’s attention. “If you want to solve this by fighting, let’s do it in our human forms. That is, if you want to make this fair.”

“Sounds good,” Garth said, approaching Rowan step by slow step. “You’ve had training in combat since you were a kid and I haven’t, but I’m not easy to beat.”

Cecil stared as Rowan crackled his knuckles. “You’re going to fight?”

Rowan caressed Cecil’s cheek and pressed a kiss to his lips, and Garth growled under his breath. “Leave this to me, all right? Wolves regenerate quickly even in our human forms, so don’t worry. It won’t be as bad as you’ll see.”

“You’re mocking me,” Garth said, his head held high.

  Chapter Fifteen

Rowan motioned Cecil to stand back. “I’m going to keep my mate safe, Alpha Garth. There’s no way in hell I’ll let you take him from me,” he said firmly.

Garth hummed. “We’ll see about that, Alpha Rowan,” he said with a grin. “If you didn’t keep Cecil safe until now, what makes you think you can do it today?”

This wasn’t only Cecil at stake, it was also him as an Alpha. Rowan took a step back as Garth approach
ed. Garth had always been quick to shift into a wolf. One mistake and Garth would catch him off-guard.

“This is enough,” Cecil said, his voice broken. “You’re both only going to end up hurt over nothing. Please don’t involve pride in this.”

Someone jumped onto the windowsill from outside and stepped into the room. “Uncle G, are you serious? For a human?” Vivian asked, and switched her attention to Rowan and Cecil. “Well, since you’ve already trespassed Alpha Rowan’s territory, we might as well see this through.”

“Vivian, leave this to me,” Garth said.

Rowan grinned, drawing their attention. “You made a big mistake by coming into my territory. Do you think my pack isn’t surrounding this room? It doesn’t bother me to destroy this room, as long as my mate is safe.” He glanced at Cecil when Cecil held his hand and pulled him toward him. “It’s all right. This needs to be settled.”

Gun opened the door and walked in, startling Cecil. He stood next to Rowan like a protective wall for Cecil. “Stella, come and take Cecil out of here,” he called out.

Stella crawled into the room from the window and reached her hand out to Cecil. “Come, Cecil. It’s not safe for you here.”

Rowan rested his hand on Cecil’s shoulder and gently pushed him toward Stella. “Go now, Cecil. Don’t worry about us.”

Cecil hesitate, gazing at Rowan with pleading eyes. “Are you sure?” he asked, and Rowan nodded. Stella held his hand and jumped down with him.

Rowan smiled with Cecil screamed on his way down. With a serious expression, he switched his attention back to Garth and Vivian. “Gun, you can stay. Two against two is only fair. Everyone else, keep Cecil safe, in case this goes south.” He sensed his pack dispersing, including from the roof of the house.

“I’ll take Vivian,” Gun said. “Good luck with Alpha Garth. You’ll need it.”

“Thanks for letting me know,” Rowan said as he kept an eye on Garth. He had to come up with a way to win against Garth, quickly. “Shall we fight in our human forms?”
