The Marionette's Chest and Other Stories Page 4

White is nigh visible for my aura is not of this color,

Yet sparks of it light up my heart filling it with wonder.

Angels reign over this part of me, keeping me sane,

It guides me when I travel, always choosing the right lane.

This is where I love with all my dormant amity,

It is sleeping, still existing, with the locum of vanity.

Snowy shades of me had lessened through time,

As people care less about me and more, more, more for a dime.

Thro my being is perfect enough to keep on living,

I shall keep this white inside of me as one day I’ll be loving.

  Prayer

I pray to god to bring me love,

Send me warmth from up above.

Please bring harmony into my days,

Concoct a magic where music stays.

Lend me your hand to help me stand,

Give me wisdom for me to understand

All the things that I must learn,

  To comprehend why bonds adjourn.

I pray to god to bring me peace,

Bring me friends and bring me bliss.

Grant this prayer from my heart,

Make tomorrow a brand new start.

  Sky & Earth

In between the sky and earth,

I wait for thee to bring me mirth.

I rest upon a puff of cloud,

  Singing to myself, singing aloud

‘Bout the times when thee and I

Used to love like mountain high.

And here I wait, just in between

The sky and earth, where I’m the queen.

  Tangled

She was tangled in his arms and he would not let her loose,

His embrace was a deadly grip, a demonstration on a noose.

She was the perfect prey, vulnerable due to a previous abuse,

He felt no pity, he wanted her and there was no flag of truce.

He wanted her to bend and break, he thought he was a king,

He’d strip her naked on his bed, and then force her to sing.

What he didn’t know was that being fragile has its sting,

He didn’t know that she had an ax, she killed him with one swing.

She was smiling when she was done, for once she had fun,

Then she walked away, out the door, running for the sun.

  Twinkle, Twinkle

  Twinkle, twinkle little star,

I might as well soak you in tar.

Your glow has taken off my sight,

Are you tryna pick a fight?

  Twinkle, twinkle little star,

I’d like to keep you in a jar,

Up above the world so high,

As my sanity is nowhere nigh.

  Twinkle, twinkle little star,

You made me travel, oh so far,

To search for something that never was

So, come here and I’ll kick your ass.

  Siren

  The current of the ocean hath swallowed thee;

Thou hath been dragged down, down to the sea.

Flowing, flowing down below as if to be free

From bleeding and struggling, oh, my dying thee.

A fortress under the sea is thy home I.ve foreseen,

Thy temple belongs there as thy flesh to thy skin.

Travel down, down, travel to be with thy kin,

My bleeding, pale, and oh, my loving, loving thee.

  Dyesabel

It was many a year ago,

when he heard my siren call.

  The ocean was my home,

  He was of the land.

The moon was at its rise,

and I was near the shore,

where the water was neither deep nor shallow.

  Singing the siren song,

  I noticed him nearby.

  Mighty in appearance,

  brown hair and blue eyes.

  It took little a moment,

before he touched my lips with his.

  Mmmm…

The taste of a human kiss.

In the depths of the ocean,

  his body clung to mine

as deeper and deeper he drowned.

  .

  His eyes were unblinking,

bubbles ceased to escape his mouth.

My naked man, in all his glory,

has fallen in the music of me.

On a dead coral I lay him down,

  his manliness showed no crown.

  My sirens gathered,

  they knew of the feast.

Our song vibrated in the water,

As I struck a trident to his neck.

  His blue eyes were mesmerizing,

  still.

I dug my fingers into them,

  put them into my mouth,

  Mmmm…

The eyes of a human fool.

  Eenie, Meenie

  Eenie, meenie, miney, mo,

Would you like to lose a toe?

Climb on stage we'll make a show,

Filled with blood and red, red snow.

Come along and don't be scared,

The damage I'll do can('t) be repaired.

You do not have to be prepared,

I'll do my best to have you spared.

But then again, I want you dead,

Rotting, smelling, (dead!) in a garbage bed.

I'll spare your toe and kill you instead,

I am the queen of hearts, off with your head!

  Candlelit Eyes

In the glow of candlelit eyes,

  Roses sing while ardor dies.

  Candles cry a haunting sorrow,

Carving tears to be shed at morrow.

In the wake of a fearful smile,

Tremors clash in a heart of vile.

A thousand gazes follow the lies,

Found in the glow of candlelit eyes.

In the tempest of the onyx night,

  And agony in mountain height,

Dark birds croon, awaiting their prize,

That is hidden in the glow of candlelit eyes.

Beyond the sparkle of tearful eyes,

Monsters hide in cloaks of disguise,

Waiting in line to see the demise

Of the infamous glow of candlelit eyes.
