When she said the word New York, Mathew’s eye lit up. And then his face darkened and his eyes narrowed as he remembered the tense encounter he had had the day before in the diner with the rowdy, flashy New Yorkers.
“Have you ever been to New York?”
“I don’t reckon I have. And I don’t plan on going there anytime soon.”
Cynthia hoped that this incredibly sexy man wouldn’t turn out to be some narrow-minded guy who had no interest in the outside world. No matter how attractive he was that sort of closed off mind would be an instant turn off for her.
“Why would you say that? It’s such a beautiful place.”
Mathew looked away and stared out the window. For a moment, Cynthia worried that she might have offended him.
“I’m sure it is. I’m probably just overreacting that’s all.”
Cynthia didn’t know what he could be talking about so she waited for him to continue.
“But I don’t want to talk about that right now maybe if I get to know you a little better, you’ll end up changing my mind.”
“I would like that,” she said.
“Yeah, so would I.”
They spent the next ten minutes making a bit of small talk and right as they were about to get up and leave Cynthia saw the familiar faces of Billy and his two assistants walking into the diner. Matthew noticed the look of apprehension on her face immediately.
“Is everything all right,” he asked.
She couldn’t open her mouth. She was not expecting these guys to show up and she was worried what they would say about her sitting there with the cowboy. Would they make fun of her? Would they try to embarrass her?
“Hmmm,” she said. “No nothing’s wrong. “It’s just that some people that I know just walked in.”
“Oh really?” Mathew’s eyes grew wide with curiosity.
But when he turned around and saw the three men sauntering towards him expression changed. He recognized them right away from the day before. He hadn’t expected them to show up. He had been hoping that they would have the good sense to hide their faces for a few days. But here they were walking through the diner like they owned the place.
“Hey look, it’s the cowboy from yesterday,” Billy said.
Cynthia didn't understand what was going on. She wanted to reach out and grab Mathew and get him to sit down but she had only met him fifteen minutes prior and she didn’t feel that would be appropriate.
Mathew towered over Billy and his assistants. He put his hands on his hips and glared. “I thought I told you fellas to stay out of here. You must have come looking for trouble.”
“No, cowboy, we haven’t come looking or trouble.”
“Then why did you bring your asses back in here, then?”
“Guys, the cowboy here thinks he’s the sheriff in this town. He thinks that this is some kind of Hollywood movie and he’s going to be able to chase us away with his tough guy act.”
“Do you all know each other?” Cynthia asked. But the men ignored her.
There was a moment of silent tension before Mathew said, “We started to get to know each other yesterday.”
“So what’s the problem?”
“No problem at all,” Billy said, in a smug voice. “I see the cowboy here has a taste for that caramel flavor.” Cynthia blushed when Billy said that. It was so out of line.
Mathew didn’t have any problem picking up on the reference.
“So you have a problem with me talking to this nice young lady?”
Billy took a step forward. “Maybe I do.”
Cynthia sprang out of the booth. She had seen enough. “If you guys are going to stand here arguing with each other, then I think I’ll just leave.”
All of the men turned towards to Cynthia. It seemed like it had dawned on them how silly they were being.
Mathew extended his hand towards Billy. “I’m willing to forget what happened yesterday and move on.”
Before answering Billy exchanged glances with his two assistants. They both shrugged. Billy sighed then shook Mathew’s hand. It was the strongest handshake that he had ever felt. Mathew smiled at him as he tightly gripped his hand. Cynthia smiled.
“All right we’ll sit down and leave you two alone,” Billy said, happy that Mathew had finally released his hand. All three of them walked to a booth and sat down.
“I’m sorry about all that,” Mathew said. “Are those your friends or something?”
“Yes, the guy that you shook hands with is my producer.”
Mathew’s eyes opened wide. “Producer? Are you some kind of famous singer?”
Cynthia smiled and lowered her eyes. She brushed tangle of hair behind her ear and looked back up at Mathew. She couldn’t get over how gorgeous his eyes were. She didn't think that she would ever get over staring into them. All that she could think about was how she could go about setting up a more private meeting with him. She wouldn't walk out of that diner before exchanging contact information. She wouldn't let this opportunity slip through her fingers.
“I’m not famous. At least not yet, but I am a singer.”
“Wow. I never meet a real singer before. Actually that’s not true. A cousin of mine sings country out in Memphis, but he’s not all that professional about it. He spends most of his time hanging in bars and mooching off women. Wouldn’t happen to sing country would you.
She had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing. She most certainly did not sing country. And then suddenly a feeling of panic seized her. What would he say when he found out that she sang R&B. did he even know anything about the genre?
“No, I haven’t done any country songs. I’m an R&B singer.”
“Ok, that makes sense.”
“What do you mean by that?”
I just mean that you look more like an R&B singer than a country singer.
There was a brief moment of silent tension. Cynthia could feel some of the diners looking her way.
“I would love to hear some of your music sometime. Are you doing anything tonight?”
Chapter 8
Cynthia spent the next few hours in a state of bliss. The image of the blond hunk kept flashing in her mind and every time it did, she felt like she was awash in pleasure.
A half an hour before the date, she was suddenly seized by panic. What if she was making a mistake? She considered cancelling the date. She hadn’t come out to Denver to date. She’d come out here to work. That was supposed to be the most important, and the only thing in her life. Usually, she didn’t have a problem adhering to that credo. But she had a sense that things were changing for her. She felt herself opening up to the world.
A limo driver opened the door for her and Mathew appeared, smiling, looking impeccable in his dark jeans and navy blue blazer. He was clean-shaven and his eyes were twinkling. He seemed just as excited for what lay ahead as she was.
“You look beautiful,” he said as he helped her out of the car. Her face turned red and she batted her lashes.
“I hope I’m not underdressed.”
“No, not at all.”
“Are we going up in that helicopter?”
He turned towards her and smiled. “I hope you’re not afraid of flying,” he said.
“Of course. But I’ve never been in a helicopter before. Are you a pilot?”
“Yes, I am. But since I didn’t feel like showing off on our date, I decided to hire one.”
“That will also give us time to talk and get to know each other.”
“I would love to see you showoff sometime,” she replied. She couldn’t believe that she was already singing up for a second date. This one had barely gotten underway.
Mathew had figured that this sophisticated city woman had probably never taken a helicopter ride over white-capped mountains. And that’s just the way he liked it. He had told the pilot in advance to make the ride a little bumpy. He wanted to put some fear into Cynthia while they took in the beautiful landscape. The fear would get her heart pumping and
her adrenaline racing. That would help bring them closer together and that’s exactly what he wanted. She would have to lean on him to comfort her. And that would give him the perfect opportunity to wrap his arms around her and show her that he could be a protective comforting presence.
Once they got into the helicopter he helped strap her in. As he wrapped the seatbelt around her, he couldn’t help admiring her ample bosom. He had never been so close to a black woman’s breasts before. There was something about them that seemed so much more exotic and intriguing then white woman’s breasts that he had seen all of his life. He couldn’t help fantasizing about the size, shape and color of her nipples. After he had fastened her in, he noticed that she was smiling at him very suggestively. He thought about apologizing for staring at her in such a way but from the expression on her face it was clear that she was not displeased with him.
It wasn’t long before they were up in the air and flying over mountains. He felt her hand pulling on his arm. Her touch sent an electric surge of energy throughout his body. It was very loud inside the helicopter and she = had to bring her mouth very close to his ear in order to make herself heard. She brought her lips so close that they actually bushed against his ear lobe. That intimate contact made Mathew’s manhood stiffen. He was glad that he’d worn his darker jeans or else the thick bulge in his crotch would have been clearly visible.
“This is so exciting. Do you do this often?”
“No, only on special occasions,” he said smiling at her. She smiled back and pressed her body into his. Her eyes shifted downward and Mathew could have sworn that he saw her lick her lips as she caught a glimpse of his crotch. Oh, his body was on fire with desire.
The pilot put the plane on an angle as they flew over a series of mountains.
Cynthia wrapped both of her hands around one of Mathew’s thick arms. “Oh, my God. Is this safe?” Her voice trembled with fear. “Why is he flying like that?”
“Just hold on tight. Nothing’s going to happen to you as long as you’re with me.”
She squeezed his arm even tighter. She was shaking with fear and cleaving herself to his body. Things were going just as planned. This was exactly what Mathew had planned. The pilot whipped his head around quickly and smiled. Mathew nodded approvingly.
Chapter 9
Ten minutes later the helicopter landed back at the same airport that it had taken off from.
Cynthia loosened the tight grip that she had on Mathew’s arms. “Are we back at the airport? Oh, my God that was so exciting and scary.”
Mathew smiled. “Don’t worry. Everything’s fine. And I have more planned for us.”
Cynthia looked up into his face with a big smile. Her lips looked so full and juicy. He wanted nothing more than to pressed his lips to hers. He wanted to cup her face in his hands and begin a slow, slow passionate, romantic kiss. But he was torn. He didn’t want to think he was being to forward. For a few moments they stared into each other’s eyes. He had never seen such gorgeous brown eyes. And finally he could no longer resist, he took her chin in his hand and pulled her toward him and closed his eyes just before he pressed his lips to hers. It was a soft kiss and it was followed by several more pecks. He didn’t know what to do with his hands. He wanted nothing more than to reach out and squeeze her breasts. Her hands roved up and down his chest. And then before he knew what was happening she had pulled away from him. Her eyes filled with lust. Clearly, she had enjoyed their first kiss. “You’re a very good kisser,” she said.
“So are you.”
Cynthia’s heart raced as she stepped out of the helicopter. This was already turning into the most exhilarating date that she had ever been on. She couldn’t wait to find out what he had planned for the rest of the evening. It was dusk and the setting of the sun made the date that much more romantic.
Chapter 10
The limo driver was holding the door open for them. Mathew gently wrapped his arm around her waist and ushered her into the car. He got in and the driver shut the door.
Mathew turned and smiled at her. “I hope you’re hungry.”
Cynthia smiled and nodded her head. She was certainly hungry but not just for food. What she really wanted was to feel Mathew’s hands roving all over her body. She wanted to taste his lips, tongue, and mouth. The kiss in the helicopter had set her on fire with desire. She was desperate for another moment of intimacy with him. But she knew that it would be good to hold back and play coquette. That would only increase his desire and force him to make a strong move. And that’s exactly what she wanted. She wanted him to ravish her. She wanted to feel his hard manhood pressing into her.
During the car ride to the restaurant, they two of them enjoyed a sweet silence. Mathew kept his arm wrapped around her shoulders. They exchanged several warm glances. And more than once, Cynthia had to cover her mouth to hide her giggling. She couldn’t help laughing and being all girly. He was so masculine, yet at the same time there was something sweet and gentle about his presence. She had never been around a man who combined so many attractive attributes in such a seamless way. She couldn’t wait to spend more time with him and get to know him better.
Mathew pulled her close to him and kissed her ear lobe. Her whole body trembled with pleasured.
Then he said in a whisper, “I’m really glad that you came out with me tonight. I have a feeling that this won’t the last night we spend together.”
His blue eyes were dilated and they looked even more beautiful than before. Cynthia slipped her hand onto his thigh and then squeezed. Even through the jeans she could feel the hard muscles in his legs. Throughout the whole ride she had done her best to control herself. But she wouldn’t be able to do that anymore. She turned towards him.
Their lips were only inches apart. She slid her hand further up his thigh, moving closer and closer to the bulge in his jeans. Then she brushed a tangle of hair behind her ear and leaned towards him. Their lips touched again. She sighed as he cupped one of her breasts in his hand and squeezed. His grip was so firm and masculine. It had been so long since a man had taken hold of her like that. She slipped her tongue into his mouth.
Both of their tongues darted in and out of each other’s mouth.
She pulled away and stared deeply into his eyes. “I love the way you touch me. I want to feel your hands all over my body. Don’t stop.”
Mathew wrapped his strong arms around her and pulled her towards him. They French kissed passionately. She wanted nothing but for him to rip her clothes and take her right there in the limo. She could feel the wetness between her legs. She never took things that fast but there was something about this blond-haired, blue-eyed cowboy that she simply could not resist.
Then it was Mathew’s turn to pull away. He looked out the window and turned to her with a smile on his face. He leaned towards her and gave her a few soft pecks on her lips and neck. “I think that’s all we should do for now. We’ve arrived at our destination.”
It took Cynthia a moment to realize what he had just said. The last thing she wanted to do was stop. She had no interest in eating or doing anything except enjoying more moments of passion. Her heart was racing. He breathing quickened. She did her best to calm herself down. She didn’t want him to know just how hungry she was for his loving.
“Ok, you’re right. That’s probably best.” She sighed deeply and looked away from him.
Moments later the limo door opened.
Mathew stepped out of the car, then extended his hand towards her.
“Tonight, you’re going to experience some serious Southwestern food. I hope you have a good appetite.”
Cynthia smiled, trying not to let on just how bad she wanted to stay in the backseat of the limo and continue their make out session. “I think you’ve done plenty to stimulate my appetite,” she said slowly raising her eyes to meet his.
“Reservation for two in the VIP section,” Mathew told the hostess. “Waterston’s the name.”
“Right this way.”
r /> Mathew took hold of her hand as they followed the hostess through main dining room to the VIP section. Wow, Cynthia thought. This man doesn’t cease to impress me. This was the most upscale southwestern restaurant she had ever been to. She had the strong feeling that she was underdressed but she wasn’t going to worry about that. As long as he was pleased with what she was wearing nothing else mattered.
In the VIP section the lighting was dimmer and much more romantic then in the main dining room. And there was only one table. It had two candles on it.
“This is your table. The waiter will be with shortly. Enjoy.”
Like a true gentleman, Mathew pulled out her chair for her. Then he sat down and reached across the table for her hands. For the next several moments they gazed deeply into each other’s eyes. Cynthia felt herself swooning. This was all so much. And it was all happening so fast. She couldn’t wait to find out what other surprises he had in store for her.
