Lucas: A MM Mpreg Shifter Romance Page 9

by Fel Fern

“The mysterious project you refused to tell me about?” Milo asked.

“You’ll find out soon enough. Now then. It’s been ages since I’ve last fucked you. I missed you so much,” Lucas murmured.

Milo rose on tiptoe to steal a kiss from his lips. “I’ve been slowly going insane since the last time we last saw each other. It’s been lonely without you.”

  “Oh?”

Lucas cornered him, trapping him against the counter. Lucas pulled off his shirt. Milo took off his pants and underwear. Lucas shed his clothes in seconds. Finally, both of them were naked. Hungry for each other. Lucas leaned in to kiss Milo on the mouth again. He took his time. Milo ran his hands down his chest, his abs.

“I need to be inside you now,” Lucas said with a growl.

He draped Milo over the counter, so the Omega’s ass was facing his dick. Milo pushed his bottom at him. Lucas gave Milo’s ass a playful swat. The Omega groaned, not resisting as Lucas spread his thighs wider. He pushed one finger inside Milo’s hole.

Milo was primed for him, ready to take his dick.

Gripping Milo’s ass, he pushed inside his mate in one sure stroke. Milo cried out as Lucas sheathed himself to the hilt. He rested his balls against the curve of Milo’s ass. He rode his mate, fast and rough, exactly the way they both wanted it.

Lucas reduced them both to growling and panting messes.

Knowing Milo was close, Lucas closed his fingers over Milo’s shaft. One squeeze and his Omega climaxed for him. Milo cried out, coating his fingers with his jizz. Lucas thrust in and out of Milo a few more times, before emptying his seed inside Milo’s ass.

“I missed this so much,” Milo murmured, making him chuckle.

He gently gathered the Omega to his chest. Lucas held his mate for a few intimate seconds. Milo looked up at him.

“Will you finally make me yours, your mate in every sense of the word?” Milo whispered.

Lucas wouldn’t ask him again. He unsheathed his sharp fangs and bit the side of Milo’s neck. The Omega cried out, gripping his shoulders tight. The mating bond rose between them, binding their two souls together. Lucas pulled his mouth away, licking at the blood. Milo left his own smaller bite mark, on the curve of his left shoulder.

It was done. They were officially mates, for better or for worse.

“Can I take off the blindfold?” Milo asked.

  “Not yet,” Lucas answered.

He steered his mate carefully towards their new home, making sure Milo wouldn’t trip. Two weeks had passed since Lucas paid Milo a visit in the city. Yesterday was Milo’s last day at the accounting firm.

Today, Lucas picked up his mate from his old apartment building. Milo had already signed off his apartment and packed all his belongings. The Omega didn’t own a lot of things. All his boxes fit in the back of the car.

Both of them were excited about the next chapter of their lives.

“What are we doing out here in the woods?” Milo asked.

Lucas knew Milo was tired and probably wanted to rest. However, he couldn’t wait for Milo to see his surprise.

  “You’ll know pretty soon.”

“Don’t you think it’s time you told me what’s this about?” Milo nearly tripped over a tree branch. The Omega let out a squeal but Lucas quickly caught him before Milo’s face hit the dirt.

  “We’re here,” Lucas announced.

Milo was still in his arms. He undid the blindfold. It took several seconds for Milo’s eyesight to adjust. His mate stepped away from his arms to look curiously at the cabin.

  “What’s this?”

“Our home. My brothers and I put it together,” he said, unable to keep the pride out of his voice.

“Ours?” Wonderment filled Milo’s voice as the Omega turned to look at him. There were tears in his eyes. Oops. Lucas couldn’t tell if they were good tears or bad.

“You don’t like it?” He asked hesitantly. Lucas knew it. He should’ve asked Milo’s opinion about the design first, before working on the place.

“Of course I do. Silly. My mate built me a home,” Milo said.

Through their mate mark, Lucas could finally sense Milo’s emotions. Pleasure. Happiness. Contentment. Not a shred of disappointment.

“Whew. I thought I screwed up,” he said. He reached for Milo’s hand and guided the Omega inside. “Let me show you around.”

  “I’d really like that.”

Lucas opened the door to their cabin. “There’s no furniture in here yet,” he explained as they moved from room to room. “My brothers and I just laid down the foundations, built the floors, walls, and roof.”

“You guys did an amazing job. I can’t believe you made this wonderful home in just a few weeks,” Milo said. “I can already imagine what furniture we would put here and there. This space is where our living room should be. Then there’s the kitchen.”

Milo sounded excited. His mate started talking about their plans for the future but Lucas wasn’t done yet.

“I have one more room to show you,” he said.

  “More surprises?” Milo asked.

  “One last one.” Lucas promised.

He led his mate to the special room right next to the master bedroom. He opened the door. Milo gasped as he walked in, looking dazed. This was the only room in the house that was furnished. Milo touched the crib in wonder, then looked at the toys and baby clothes on the floor.

“These were used by my brothers and their mates. They’re second-hand, but everything’s in good condition,” Lucas explained.

He knew Milo worried a lot about the baby. Milo frequently asked if they were ready to have this baby or if they were doing enough. When he told Liam, Logan, Eli, and Billy about his predicament, they happily donated baby items they were no longer using.

“Oh my God, Lucas. You’ve thought of everything. Thank you.”

Milo must’ve loved his last surprise because the Omega flung his arms around his shoulders and kissed him. He savored the taste of his mate and held him tight. These last two weeks were particularly hard on them both.

Sure, Lucas dropped by the city three times over the last fourteen days to see how his pregnant mate was faring. It wasn’t enough. The real thing always tasted so much better.

He ran his hands possessively down Milo’s body. “You’re so fucking sexy, baby.”

Milo laughed. “Even though I’m showing?”

Lucas lifted Milo’s shirt and kissed his slightly distended belly. When he stood back up, he didn’t hide the heat in his eyes from his Omega. “Especially when you’re pregnant.”

Milo nudged him in the ribs. “You charmer. Of course, you’d say that. You’re my mate.”

  Lucas grinned. “Why, you complaining?”

“Not at all. Did I see a mattress in that other room?”

Lucas recognized the twinkle in Milo’s eyes. Logan told him Omegas were extra horny when they were pregnant. He thought his brother was pulling his leg. So it was true after all.

“I made sure the mattress was delivered extra early, just in case,” he said, grasping Milo’s windows.

“I like your way of thinking,” Milo said.

His Omega moved to their bedroom. Lucas tailed him, unable to wipe the smile off his face. He was hungry for his mate, even though it had only been a couple of days since they last saw each other. They did video calls and sexted all the time as well but this was different.

Milo was already taking off all his clothes.

“I like it when you take initiative,” Lucas said, doing the same.

It looked like they were going to spend the entire night here. He was about to remind his mate they had dinner with his brothers and their mates. After watching Milo get on his hands and knees, then wagging his ass at him, he changed his mind.

Everyone else could wait. Lucas wanted some one-on-one time with his mate first.

  Epilogue

  Three Months Later

Milo was sitting outside on their porch
swing and drinking his ice tea when his water broke. At first, he didn’t register the wetness on his pants. He was too focused sending out his resume. Milo finally looked down after sending his email.

He swore as his first contraction hit.

Milo’s scream sent his mate running out of the house. Lucas’ hair and body were still wet, telling Milo Lucas had probably been in the shower. There was no time to admire Lucas’ hot and slick naked body because his second contraction hit. He clutched at his stomach. Milo would have plenty of time to admire his mate later.

“I’ll fetch the bags. Stay right there,” Lucas said.

After what felt like an eternity later, Lucas returned. Milo knew it had only been seconds, but time seemed to move more sluggishly. The Alpha was dressed and carrying their emergency baby bag. Lucas slid his arm over his shoulders and helped him to his feet.

“How are you feeling?” Lucas asked, guiding him to the car.

“Not good.” He admitted. Milo leaned against his mate.

“I’ve already called Liam. Everyone’s on their way to the hospital,” Lucas said.

Once his mate got him in the backseat, Lucas got behind the wheel. The Alpha started the engine.

“There’s no reason to bother—” He couldn’t finish his sentence as intense pain rode his body.

“Breathe in and out slowly, baby. Just like we practiced. That’s it,” Lucas said.

The Alpha’s steady and firm voice helped calm his nerves. Lucas, he mused, always dealt well with stressful situations. The exact opposite of him. While he tried to control his breathing, his mind took him to all the baby classes they took together.

Lucas insisted on going with him to all his hospital appointments. Lucas seldom left his side this entire week, knowing the baby was due any second. His mate kept making excuses that he was needed at home.

His mate said he forgot to baby proof one section of the house. Heh. Milo knew Lucas just wanted to be next to him in case Milo needed him.

“I love you. I just wanted you to know that.”

Lucas spared him a worried look. Then the Alpha flashed him a smile that never failed to melt his insides. “I love you so so much, baby. Just hang on tight. I’ll get you to the hospital. We’re not having this baby in the car.”

His mate kept his promise. The next thing Milo knew, they left the mountain and entered the town. They were at the hospital in no time at all. Perfect timing, too.

Milo’s contractions were less than five minutes apart now. Lucas opened the door for him. His Alpha gathered him in his arms and carried him to the hospital.

“Everyone’s staring at us,” he whispered.

“They’re just jealous,” Lucas said simply.

Once inside, a nurse gave one look at them and said, “This Omega is about to give birth. Get him to the OR.”

They had him lie down on a gurney.

“I’ll be right there in the operating room with you,” Lucas said, kissing his forehead. Milo gave Lucas’ hand one squeeze and nodded to the nurse.

The next few hours felt like a blur. Milo remembered more pain and screaming from his end. He thought it would never end. He even told himself he’d never do this again, even though Lucas and he wanted to have more kids.

Then he heard his son’s first wail. Milo’s heart melted as the nurse placed the baby in his arms. Lucas stood by his side. They looked at their baby boy together.

“Aw, he has your hair and eyes,” Lucas murmured.

“But he has your Alpha genes,” Milo said, kissing his baby’s bald little head.

“He’s going to be trouble, I can feel it,” Lucas said, awe in his voice. “So we agree on naming him, Ethan?”

  “Ethan it is.” Milo agreed.

Once the nurses moved Milo to his private room, the rest of the family poured inside his room. That included the cubs. The room was quiet and noisy. A nurse tried to tell them to lower the volume but eventually left after realizing there was no use.

It didn’t help that Milo’s nieces and nephews were just too adorable for words.

“He’s so tiny, Uncle Milo,” Sophie remarked, leaning over the bed. “When can we all play together?”

“When he’s a little older, kiddo,” Lucas said, mussing her hair.

“Look at that, he has the Griffin nose,” Logan remarked, eying the baby in Milo’s arms.

He laughed, realizing that was true. “You have a point there.”

“Liam and I will get the girls out of your hair. They’re hungry,” Eli told him. “But we’ll be back.”

  “We’ll head home,” Billy said.

Ollie was in his animal form and the cub looked all tuckered out. Logan nodded to him and Lucas, before exiting the room.

“See you guys later. Thanks for visiting,” he said.

The room emptied again, leaving just the three of them there. Lucas offered to carry their baby boy for a bit. Milo transferred Ethan into Lucas’ arms. Ethan let out a yawn and in seconds, immediately fell asleep.

“Huh, that’s a trick you must teach me,” Lucas said.

He made some space for his mate on the bed. Lucas lay next to him, with Ethan tucked in his arms. Ethan sucked on his thumb while he slept.

“We did good, didn’t we?” Milo asked him. “I was worried about today.”

“I know.” Lucas held Ethan to his chest and used his free hand to touch his arm. “You were worried we’d forget something, weren’t you?”

“You know me. I tend to overthink, but you love me anyway. Don’t you?”

“Of course I do.” Lucas leaned over and kissed his cheek. “So what do you think? Will Ethan have a baby brother or sister in the future?”

“In the future, but not now,” Milo said with a smile.

“That sounds like a good plan to me.”

  A sneak preview of Logan

  Billy

Billy didn’t want to get up. Hell, he didn’t want to do anything today. He could stay in bed the entire day but who would feed the lodge guests? He buried his face into the pillow. Billy screamed into it, glad no one would hear him.

Six months had passed since he started working at the Grizzly Mountain Lodge. Not enough time to bury the grief that still lingered in his heart. The image of that tiny coffin still haunted his nightmares sometimes.

His phone beeped from under his pillow again. His second alarm. Billy swiped it and squinted at the screen. 7.30 am. Shit.

Billy was already 30 minutes late. He was supposed to be making puff pastries by now. He received another notification, a message from his ex-boyfriend Jake. Billy automatically deleted or ignored Jake’s messages but he opened it today.

Jake: Thinking of you, especially today. Haven’t heard from you in months. How are you?

As soon as Billy got the chef job, he gathered his belongings and moved out of the apartment Jake and he shared. He left a note, thinking Jake would understand.

After his miscarriage, they both needed space. Besides, neither of them loved each other anyway. Not really. Both of them just kind of went along with their arrangement out of practically. Back then, Billy truly believed that was enough.

Billy gazed at his room. Most of the staff at the lodge lived in South Pine, the town below the mountain.

Apart from Billy, only Eli, Liam, Logan and Lucas took up residence here. During the past six months, Billy had repainted the walls and floors and added new bits and bobs. He made this room his own. This place was his home, for now at least.

It could be your forever home if you wanted, an unfamiliar voice whispered in his head. Billy already had the perfect job. With the right Alpha—Billy pushed away that scary line of thought.

He dragged himself out of bed and walked to the huge window that dominated his room. Billy opened it, letting the mountain breeze hit his face. He gazed at the crown of ash trees in the distance. />
  His skin itched.

The animal that shared his skin wanted out. He rubbed at the goosebumps over his forearms. When was the last time he shifted forms? Billy couldn’t even remember.

Maybe after the lunch or dinner service, he could head into the woods. Have some alone time. Process his thoughts. The hours would tickle by without him realizing it. This awful day would soon be over.

Hearing the familiar thud of a blade on wood, made him search for the source of the noise. His room was located on the second floor, right below the kitchen.

He also had an unobstructed view of the lodge’s backyard. This area wasn’t accessible to guests. It contained a vegetable garden and a woodshed.

His gaze lingered on Logan. Logan was shirtless and busy chopping wood. The Alpha was always a sexy sight to behold.

Billy watched Logan swing that ax of his with quick and efficient strokes. Sweat beaded on Logan’s muscular chest and shoulders. He licked his lips.

You can invite him to your night time run later, he thought. No. He couldn’t. Six months ago, he had a sneaking suspicion that Logan and he were—compatible.

The last thing Billy wanted to do was date his boss. He kept his personal and work life separate. Besides, he didn’t even know if Logan liked him at all.

Most of the time, they argued but Billy sometimes found himself looking forward to their heated exchange of words. That grumpy Alpha bear wasn’t for Billy. They were an ill-fated match. They were like fire and ice. Night and day.

They’d only end up hurting each other. Besides, Logan was a complete catch. The Alpha wouldn’t want an Omega like Billy who had a chip on his shoulder. He also carried a ton of luggage. Why would any Alpha want him?

Billy had begun to embrace the single life. He didn’t need an Alpha to complete with. He was enough.

After a quick shower, Billy headed downstairs. His two assistants, Troy and Mila, were already preparing the items for the breakfast menu. He silently approved. Billy had trained them well over the last few months.
