‘Well,’ said Abelard. ‘Now what?’
Alessandra smiled up at him, taking his hand once more. ‘I don’t know about you but I could really go for pizza. This whole secretly ruling the world thing is making me hungry.’
Abelard leaned forward and kissed her, enjoying the exciting unfamiliarity of her new lips. ‘Sounds like an excellent plan to me. Then maybe we can discuss these children we’re supposed to be having that will rule after us for centuries to come.’
Alessandra set off down the street, pulling him gently behind her. Looking back at him over her shoulder, she said, ‘Well, yes, I expect we can work on that.’
