My breath hitched and I whimpered and moaned as the incredible climax ravaged me and left me breathless. When my legs stopped shaking and my toes unclenched from their curl, Vince stood, and I nearly leapt to a sitting position in excitement. Vince pulled his shirt off, and I pressed my lips against the hardened muscles of his chest, sliding them down until my tongue dove into the ridges of his abdominal muscles. My fingertips brushed across his chiseled core until they found his belt and yanked at it until it lay open and loose.

Curling my fingers inside and pulling down on his pants, his thick, long cock sprung out at me, and I salivated to return the pleasure. I grasped him by his base and plunged my mouth around him, taking him deep inside me, letting him slide down my tongue until he touched the back of my throat. I stayed there for a moment, sinking slowly deeper over him until I felt him in my throat and pulled away before I choked. My tongue flicked and lavished the underside of the head, and I twisted my hand near it as I stroked him toward my tongue. I gleefully increased my speed as Vince moaned above me, his appreciation evident in how hard his cock was in my mouth and how unrestrained his sounds were above me.

After a few moments, I plunged down again to take him deeply into my throat, and he cried out and tensed his body while his fingers ran through my hair, eventually balling it up and clenching, holding me in place. When he pulled me back again, I gasped for air and stroked him, kissing his lower stomach and letting my other hand slide between my thighs to touch myself.

As I slid a finger inside myself, I pressed his cock between my lips again and mimicked the motion. Vince let one hand slide down my neck to my breasts, filling with one and brushing my nipple with his thumb. The sensory overload was complete, and I lost myself in the moment, sucking him, moaning so the vibrations rode up his cock and rattled his spine, forcing him to grunt and close his eyes.

Suddenly, he pulled me away and I barely had time to look disappointed when he grabbed my ankles and turned me over. I lay on my stomach on the bed, my legs falling off the end, when his arm reached under me, lifting me to stand and lean. His warm, heavy cock slid between my thighs and brushed through the folds of my pussy, gathering the fluid there. I let my legs loosen and stood on my toes as I waited for him, and the head of his cock found my opening.

Vince slid his other hand up my stomach to my chest, grabbing one of my breasts as if to hold me in place as he plunged into me. A cry stuck in my throat as his massive thickness filled me, stretched me, and completed me. I pressed my toes into the floor to gain some measure of control as my body ached as it adjusted to his girth. He pressed his hips into my ass and stayed there, waiting for me to open up for him, to fit around him.

Then he pulled back and thrust deeply into me again, impossibly deep, and the cry finally became unstuck from my throat and filled the air around me. I reached back to grab hold of his thigh, holding him as he sunk so deeply inside me that I thought I might burst.

As he lay into me, his body pumping in a slow, rhythmic pace, punctuated by the sounds of someone paying close attention to how my body responded, I relaxed into the control his fingers had over me. Thumbs now pressed into my ass as the hands curled around my hips. He was slamming into me, pulling me into him with each thrust, and my eyes rolled back, preparing for another incredible orgasm to take control. I could feel my body tingling with anticipation and tried to remind myself to breathe, my voice rolling out of me in short bursts of sound.

I knew my climax was coming soon, and by the increased speed and intensifying grunts behind me, I knew Vince’s was too. I turned to look at him, and our eyes met. I grinned as he didn’t stop his speed and only met my gaze with one of his own. I let my hand stretch back to his ass and pulled him into me, letting him know I wanted it harder. I wanted him to dominate me. I wanted him to own me in that moment and show me the power of his passion for me.

He seemed to understand, and a growl rose from deep inside his chest as he gripped me harder and fucked me with a renewed intensity. I closed my eyes and let the wave of pleasure wash over me, and soon I was tipping over, releasing the tension in an earth-quaking climax. I cried out in a long sound that captured the passion, the ecstasy, and the tension being let go, and a deep well of sound met me from behind. Vince slammed into me harder, faster, our bodies slapping against one another until he exploded in me, and his voice joined mine. I shuddered as he came, his body emptying into mine only intensifying my climax. When he finally stood stock-still, his legs no longer shaking and his hips no longer pumping, he released himself from me, and I crawled up into the bed. He joined me there and I curled into his arms, kissing his chest as I nestled in the crook of his arm.

I woke up Tuesday morning with Lindsey cuddled up beside me.

I smiled and settled back down on the pillow. Tossing my arm over her, I kissed her on the cheek.

  “Good morning,” I said.

She groaned slightly. “What time is it?”

“Actually, I don’t know. I’m not used to just waking up,” I said.

The realization I might have completely overslept settled in. It was possible I was already late for work. Not that it would make that much of a difference. Quentin always told me I had the option to work from home some days if I wanted to. He never specified it had to be my home, so I assumed the courtesy would be extended to me lingering around at Lindsey’s house for a little bit. The only thing forcing me to go into the office were two conference calls later in the afternoon.

But when I pulled my phone out from where I stuffed it under the pillow the night before after calling to ask my next-door neighbor to use his emergency key to feed Frankie, I realized it was still early. There was plenty of time to have breakfast together before I needed to leave. That could wait for a few minutes, though. I wanted to relish cradling Lindsey in my arms and feeling her body against mine for a little bit longer.

She flipped over onto her other side and buried her head in my chest. “Turn off the lights.”

I chuckled and leaned down to kiss her head. “The lights aren’t on. That’s the sun coming through the window.”

“Turn off the sun,” she said.

“Not a morning person, are you?” I asked.

She lifted her head and looked at me. “I am most certainly a morning person. It just so happens I have two mornings. The one right before I get off work, then the one after I slept. And that one comes in a few hours.”

“It’s morning now. And I’m starving,” I said.

I started to get up, and Lindsey held on to me. “You can’t get up. I’m comfortable. Just… shhhhhh. You’re too loud.”

“You are adorably grumpy in the morning for someone who doesn’t have to go to work until late in the afternoon. And who has someone else willing to make breakfast for her,” I said.

“You make breakfast, I’m going to go back to sleep,” she said.

“Nope. You have to get up and tell me where things are in your kitchen.”

She rolled over and put the pillow over her head. “You’ll find them. I have faith in you.”

I laughed and pulled the blanket off her. A sharp, playful smack on her cute round ass made her jump. She gasped and stared at me with a look of mock horror. I couldn’t help but laugh. The sparkle in her eyes said Lindsey didn’t mind as much as she was letting on. Pulling my boxers on, I headed for the kitchen. A few seconds later, she came in wearing my shirt and we made breakfast together.

It was oddly satisfying moving around the kitchen with her. We weren’t making anything elaborate, just some scrambled eggs with onions and peppers and the bacon she didn’t make on Sunday. But it still felt meaningful. I could see us doing this much more often. Maybe that should have scared me, or even just given me pause. But it didn’t. I wanted this to be the first of many mornings spent just like this one.

We ate breakfast, and she loaded the dishwasher while I gathered everything up to leave. I pulled her in close for a long, deep
kiss. Her arms wrapped around my neck, and she sighed into it.

“Are you sure you have to leave now?” she asked. “You could come back to bed with me.”

My body tightened, and I groaned. “You have no idea how much I wish I could. But I have to go back to my house and get ready for work. Frankie is already going to be pissed at me.”

She looked at me strangely. “Frankie? Did your mother hire someone new for the office?”

I laughed and gave her a fast kiss. “Frankie is my roommate. And my alarm clock. And is also a cat. He doesn’t like having his routine disrupted, and my neighbor couldn’t get to the house to feed him on time this morning.”

Lindsey looked at me incredulously. “Are you saying you are choosing a cat over coming back to bed with me?”

“I could make some really off-color jokes right now, but out of consideration for your sweet, delicate ears, I’m not going to. But, no, I’m not choosing Frankie over you. He has an automatic feeder that will give him all the dry food he wants. He’s just picky about his wet food. I have to go because I have conference calls this afternoon and have to look presentable.”

She smiled and cozied up to me again. “I like you better naked.”

“Another thing we have in common,” I said, lowering my mouth to hers for another languid kiss.

Just as I expected, Frankie was not pleased with me when I got home. But even his angry yowling and face of judgment couldn’t take the edge off my high from Lindsey.

I got to work with a little bit of time to spare. That was a good thing because it meant I could get settled into my office and go over the notes for the conference call before the first one started.

I shot off a quick text to Lindsey before signing on for the call just so she would know I was thinking about her. In between calls, we exchanged a few messages, but the second call dragged out longer and more complicated than I expected it to. Caught up in an issue with a few purchase orders from one of our parts vendors, I couldn’t keep up with the conversation with her.

I could feel the phone going off in my pocket and had to fight the urge to grab it out and look at the message. Finally, the meeting came to an end and I was able to take my phone out and check it. Another dinner invitation made me smile.

I tell you what, let me handle dinner tonight. Call in a couple extra people to cover. I’ll pick something up and meet you at your house at eight.

She eagerly accepted. Part of me felt like I was taking advantage of her position of bar owner by having her duck out so much the last couple of days. But I also knew her staff could handle it. They had plenty of experience and were as committed to that place as she was. Besides, Lindsey needed the break. Some time away from the pressures and responsibilities would do her good.

“Does Frankie have an overnight bag?” I asked.

Vince laughed and looked up from the sushi he was chasing around with chopsticks. “Why?”

“Because in the last two weeks, you haven’t spent the night with me again. We always go back to your place. And I understand. Frankie is a creature of habit, and now that I know him and we have formed a personal relationship, I can appreciate the importance of maintaining those routines for him. He is a special roommate-slash-alarm clock-slash-cat.”

“Yes, he is,” Vince said. He managed to succeed in snagging one of the tuna rolls and popped it into his mouth.

“But I would like to visit my place occasionally. A night or two every now and then would be nice,” I said.

He smiled. “Well, Frankie does have a very fancy carrier and a pouch that holds all his travel needs.”

  “How fancy?” I asked.

“One of the sides unzips and folds out to create a second room. It has a fake fur blanket on the bottom.”

“That is pretty fancy. Well, I think he should pack his bags and come over to my place this weekend. There’s a private event going on at the bar on Friday night, so I don’t really need to be there,” I said.

Vince looked at me curiously. “A private event?”

“Yeah,” I said, tipping soy sauce into the small dish beside my plate and swirling a tempura sweet potato roll in it. “I told you about it. A few days ago, somebody called up to the bar and asked if they could rent it out for an anniversary party.”

He shook his head. “You didn’t tell me that.”

My eyebrows knit together, and I searched his face. “Really? I could have sworn I mentioned it to you because it was so unusual. I’ve never had anyone ask about that before.”

Vince shook his head again. “Nope. You didn’t say anything about it. I would remember something like that.”

I shrugged. “I must have figured I told you. Sometimes I have whole conversations in my head and don’t realize I didn’t actually have them. Anyway, a woman called a little while ago saying she and her husband met at the bar when my grandfather ran it, and they’re getting ready to celebrate their wedding anniversary. She thought it would be a really cool idea if they would be able to celebrate it at the bar but didn’t want to just show up and try to find space. She had never heard of anybody actually renting out the entire place but wanted to ask and see if it was an option.”

“Has anyone ever rented out the entire bar?” Vince asked.

“Not as far as I know,” I said. “I’ve never rented it out to anybody. I can’t remember Dad ever doing any private events like that, either. But I figured… why not? I mean, obviously it means a lot to her, and I think that’s a really wonderful way for them to be able to celebrate their anniversary. Besides, maybe it will open up another angle for the bar.”

“I thought you wanted to honor your father by running it like he did,” Vince said.

The response surprised me. I didn’t think he would be so resistant.

“It’s not like I’m going to take out all the booths and start running a birthday party venue. It’s just an option. Besides, it means I can take Friday night off because they aren’t going to need so much staff working. We can have the whole evening to ourselves. Then you can come hang out at the bar with Nick and everybody on Saturday, then we can have Sunday together. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?” I asked.

Vince glanced over at me, and for an instant there was a strange, indecipherable expression on his face. Finally, he smiled. “That sounds great.”

Relieved the tension was gone, I smiled back at him. “Perfect. We’re going to have the best weekend. And Frankie will enjoy his little getaway, too. Maybe I will even have some welcome surprises waiting for him.”

Vince kissed me. “You’re so sweet.”

“I have my moments. So, what are we going to do for the rest of the day?” I asked.

“I was thinking when we are done with lunch, we can go over to the Discovery Center and catch the film in the IMAX Dome. There’s an undersea feature right now that looks amazing. And since you have been wanting to go to the beach, this will let you pretend,” he said.

“I love that idea,” I said. “Do you think they’d let me wear my bathing suit?”

Vince gave me a devilish smile and leaned in. “Even if they don’t, we can go back to your place and you can model it for me.”

We got back to eating so we could make it to the next showing of the film. As we walked inside holding hands, I thought about how happy I was. This was exactly the way it should be when dating somebody. It was comfortable and fun. We hadn’t officially talked about our relationship or established that we were dating. But somehow that made it seem even more real. We didn’t need the formal conversation. We were just enjoying being together.

Over the last two weeks, we had fallen into a rhythm of spending as much time together as we could. Our routines formed around each other, and we had only been apart for two nights during that time. It was amazing. Every day we had fun together, and for the first time, I felt like I had someone who truly cared about me. The case was still ongoing, but every time I heard from Charlie, I felt
a little better about the courts seeing the situation from my angle.

The one thing that loomed over me constantly was how much I missed Remy. This was the longest I had gone without seeing him since he was born. I felt his absence every day and the gap left by not having our usual visitation. I could only hope Grant wasn’t feeding him lies about me and that soon it would all work out so we were together again.

But no matter how much fun Vince and I were having and how good everything felt, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.

That sense of impending doom creeping in the back of my mind meant I wasn’t too surprised Friday afternoon when I got a call from Grant. When the phone first rang, I assumed it was Vince. Our plans for our big weekend together were all set. He would get off work and go home to get everything he needed, including Frankie in his fancy cat carrier. I would go to the bar and make sure the private event I was fully set up and the guests had what they needed.

After that, we would meet up at my house, and the festivities would begin. I was excited about it from the moment I opened my eyes. Even though we spent most nights together already, there was something special about a planned weekend that would only be disrupted by going up to the bar Saturday night. I grabbed my phone without looking at the screen and answered it.

“You know what I was just thinking? I think this weekend totally counts as a staycation. We are being super trendy,” I said.

“What are you talking about?” Grant asked.

“Grant?” I said. I let out a sigh. This was not the time for him to start bothering me about the case again. “Look, I’m really busy right now. Unless you’re calling to say you are dropping the case and I can come pick up Remy, I don’t have time for it. You can talk to my lawyer.”
