"I'm more than okay with you! In fact, it can only be you!", Lang Jie bravely announced.

His boldness touched Xue Yan's heart. Her heart was racing. She was sweating due to the sheer intensity that Lang Jie radiated. She could feel that her body was telling her to accept him… or maybe her body was just telling her that she was hungry. She didn't know for sure, but what she did know was that she wanted to grant the young man's wish.

  "O-okay…", Xue Yan reluctantly accepted.

Lang Jie then let go of her hand and immediately stood up. He raised his fist and pointed it to the skies.

"Mom, dad… I did it… I found a beautiful, hot wife!", he shouted to the skies, announcing the greatest achievement of his life.

"A-are your parents… gone?", Xue Yan asked with a worried look. She felt sad that such a young man like Lang Jie had already lost his parents.

"No… they're at home. I just wanted to do that.", Lang Jie responded and smiled at Xue Yan.

Xue Yan looked at him. She felt that there was something different about him. There were sparkles floating around him. When she looked at his face, his disheveled hair and his large glasses made him look incredibly handsome in her eyes.

That was the moment when she fell in love.

Lang Jie then looked at her once again. He offered a hand to Xue Yan, who was still squatting on the ground, holding an empty can of tuna and the plastic bag Lang Jie brought.

"Come. Let us go and make our marriage official!", Lang Jie smiled at Xue Yan.

She smiled and nodded in response as she took his hand. As they ran straight back towards the city, Xue Yan felt calm. Her intuition told her that this was going to be one of the best decisions in her life.

Her smile grew even wider as she looked at the back of the man leading her. Despite not knowing a single thing about each other, they were still going to get married. She felt that it was kind of romantic.

As they entered the marriage registration office, Xue Yan felt her heartbeat becoming faster as Lang Jie approached one of the officials and started talking with them.

'This is it… I'm going to be married…", Xue Yan thought to herself and smiled.

"Umm…", suddenly, Lang Jie stood in front of her with a sad look on his face.

"What is it?", Xue Yan asked him, confused as to what was going on.

"Well… I forgot that there are a lot of requirements… and I just realized that I had no savings left…", Lang Jie felt guilty for jumping the gun.

"But still! I will work hard and make sure that we get married as soon as possible!", Lang Jie's determined look came back to his face. After all, his parents didn't raise him to be one that gives up easily when faced with a difficult problem.

Xue Yan giggled. Lang Jie looked at her with a confused look.

"W-what is it? Don't tell me you don't want to get married anymore?!", Lang Jie asked Xue Yan with a worried expression.

"Don't worry. You wished for the two of us to get married. I told you… I'll grant your wish.", Xue Yan said and placed her pointer finger on Lang Jie's forehead. Lang Jie's eyes then closed. Xue Yan put him in a temporary illusion spell to keep him from seeing or hearing what was going to happen next.

Xue Yan approached the official that Lang Jie just spoke to.

"You. Make this Venerable One be married to that guy over there.", Xue Yan talked to the official with a cold stare.

The man immediately knew that he couldn't mess with the woman in front of him. Despite her ragged appearance, his gut feeling told him that she wasn't someone he should trifle with.

"A-ah… ma'am… it's really difficult to deal with without proper requirements… there's a process you see…", the man tried to come up with some excuse, but before he could say it, Xue Yan pulled out something from her pocket.

It was a leather wallet. She opened it and pulled out what looked like a black card.

The official looked at the card and immediately recognized it. It was a card only given to the VVIPs all over China. There were no more than twelve cards all over the world.

"Ah! Ma'am! Don't worry… let me handle this.", the official said with a sparkle in his eyes as he took the card.

"Mommy, daddy… when I grow up, I want to be married to someone beautiful!", a very young Lang Jie was sitting in between his parents on a couch.

"I'm sure you will find someone like that in the future, son!", his dad told him as he gave him a pat on the head.

Lang Jie was happily living his life as a kid again. He looked at the happy faces his parents had and felt that whatever they said would definitely happen.

As he continued enjoying the time with his parents, he suddenly hears people talking.

"Son… are you ready?", his father's voice reached his ears, but his father that was in front of him didn't say anything.

"Son?", the voice came once again, which made him open his eyes.

Lang Jie was in front of a large door that looked incredibly familiar. He looked around and saw both his parents who seemed extremely happy.

"This is a joyous occasion… don't go having cold feet now!", his mother patted his back as he stood in front of the large door.

As the door opened, music filled his ears. A small musical ensemble was playing a beautiful classical song that he didn't recognize. His friends and relatives were all dressed up and clapped as soon as the door opened, as if they were expecting him. There were also other people that he didn't know, but he thought that they were Xue Yan's relatives, so he didn't think much of it.

As if it was the most natural thing to do in the world, Lang Jie slowly walked towards the altar.

"Lang Jie! You never told us you had such a beautiful girlfriend!"

  "Congratulations!"

"What a lucky man you are, Lang Jie!"

Cheers from the people around him filled the church corridor.

As he arrived at the altar, he felt a relaxing presence. He immediately looked back to see who it was and standing at the end of the corridor was a woman wearing a wedding dress. Her face was covered by a veil, but Lang Jie recognized who she was.

"I really am about to marry that beautiful girl that fell from the heavens…", Lang Jie smiled as he muttered to himself. He really did pull through with the promise.

He had no idea what happened. The last thing he remembered was that they were in the marriage registration office, and now they were here. He was a bit confused as to how everything took place, but his happiness overwhelmed his other emotions. He was never one to think back of the past.

As his bride walked down the aisle, he knew that she was different. For some reason, his gut feeling told him that the woman in front of him was someone that stood above everyone else in the world. She was someone very special. After all, they haven't even introduced themselves yet, but here they were, about to be husband and wife.

As the bride arrived beside him, he felt his heart racing. He slowly lifted the veil, revealing his bride's beautiful face. She also looked incredibly happy to be standing beside him.

As the priest in front of them started officiating the marriage, the both of them continued staring at each other, as if there were no one else in the room but them.

"Umm… excuse me…", the priest had to check if they were still paying attention. He was asking them to take their vows, but they didn't seem to hear anything. They still continued staring at each other.

The entire room was filled with silence as they watched the bride and groom stand in silence.

Suddenly, they both jumped towards each other and started kissing.

Everyone in the entire room gasped. No one expected the sudden turn of events, especially the priest, but since he was the official in charge of the marriage, he had to keep his composure.

"You may now kiss the bride! There! They kissed! They're married! You two are now husband and wife!", the priest announced as fast as he could. For a moment there, everyone thought that the priest had a rapping career on the side.

&
nbsp; After a while, they finally stopped kissing.

"Lang Jie, darling…", Xue Yan looked at her husband straight in the eyes.

"Uh…", Lang Jie wanted to respond, but his brain went haywire. That, and he also didn't know her name yet.

"You can call me Xue Yan.", she said as if reading his mind. She smiled and gave him a wink as she turned and waved towards the crowd, who cheered loudly.

"Ahh… I remember everything as if it was yesterday… I can't believe it's been more than six years since our wedding day.", Xue Yan snuggled on Lang Jie as they were driving towards their location.

"It's nice that you remember… all I remember is how we met and the wedding!", Lang Jie jokingly said.

  Xue Yan giggled.

"It's fine, as long as we're happy now…", she closed her eyes and relaxed in the comfort of her husband's shoulders.

She reminisced back to the time when she had to figure out how they were going to get married.

"Excuse me ma'am, I need your names.", the officer in the marriage registration office asked Xue Yan, who was lovingly staring at her husband, whose remained standing still with his eyes closed.

"Ah… this Venerable One is called Xue Yan, and that lovely gentleman overthere is called…", Xue Yan then realized that she had never asked for his name before.

"Wait a moment.", she told the official who was about to register their marriage after taking Xue Yan's bribe.

She immediately started searching Lang Jie's body for any form of identification. After a bit of searching, she finally found his driver's license.

"Lang JIe… even his name sounds good… kyaa!", Xue Yan couldn't help but fangirl about her soon-to-be husband.

"His name is Lang Jie!", he shouted at the official, who nodded in response.

After that, the process went smoothly. They had their picture taken, and moments after, their marriage certificate was handed out.

As Xue Yan left the office while carrying Lang Jie over her shoulder, she felt that something was lacking.

"This Venerable One is getting married… yet what is this unsatisfied feeling…", Xue Yan thought about why she felt off.

"Ah! A wedding!", she then realized that they didn't hold a wedding. She wanted to experience what a woman experiences when walking down the aisle, and so she decided that they definitely had to hold one, but she didn't want anything too grand.

She looked back at the marriage registration office and saw that there was a pamphlet stuck on the wall beside it.

"Do you want a flawless wedding? Call us now! Or come to our office!"

Xue Yan's eyes sparkled after reading the pamphlet and immediately rushed towards the office while carrying Lang Jie.

As soon as they arrived at the office, she immediately told the man that entertained them what she wanted.

"I want a normal church wedding tomorrow!", Xue Yan exclaimed.

"Ma'am… that's close to impossible! We have to look for people, a venue, decorations, food, and there are so much more preparations we have to-", as the man tried to explain to Xue Yan that a wedding the very next day was too much, she pulled out the black card she had used to bribe the official at the marriage registration office.

The man's eyes suddenly widened at the sight of the card.

"Don't worry ma'am! Leave it to us!", the man immediately stood up and went to work.

"Oh, can I also ask for a favor?", Xue Yan asked the man.

  "What is it?"

"Can you spread the word of our wedding around? I don't care if you get a billboard or something. You can just add it to the bill.", she said with a serious look.

"Ah… can't we just contact people to come?", the man asked.

"Oh… well… about that… I don't know any of his relatives or friends…", Xue Yan looked at Lang Jie, who was still enjoying life in the illusion she made.

"A-ah… I see… we'll take care of it then…", the man scratched his head as he thought of how odd this marriage was. A wife that carried her groom on her shoulder, and not knowing any of his relatives and friends… but none of those mattered to him. All that mattered was that he was going to get paid well after the event.

After that, the wedding was held smoothly. Everyone was happy… except for the people who had to work overnight to make everything happen.

"Lang Jie, darling…", Xue Yan let out a few words. She felt drowsy as she was leaning on her husband.

"What is it, honey?", Lang Jie responded.

"I love you…", Xue Yan managed to let out a few words before completely falling asleep.

Lang Jie smiled as he felt his heart flutter. After six years, his feelings remain unchanged, and he hoped that it would go on forever.

"I love you too…", he whispered back to his dear wife, who was smiling in her sleep.

CHAPTER 5 – “NO MATTER HOW GREAT OF A MAN YOU ARE, YOU’LL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS MY HUSBAND!”

  "Honey, we're here!"

Lang Jie's voice woke Xue Yan up. She rubbed her eyes and looked around to see what her husband was so excited about.

The place looked incredibly luxurious. The place was massive, and the building where they were staying in had an odd shape. The place even had a beach.

Lang Jie's excitement showed all over his face. Xue Yan wasn't particularly excited. She had already experienced a lot of things in her life, and she had already seen places far more luxurious than this, but after seeing her husband's excited look, she herself also felt excited.

"Let's go!", the couple happily shouted in unison as they charged towards the reception area.

As they entered the building, they were greeted by a group of large bald men wearing sunglasses and suits.

"Excuse me, please wait until our young master is finished.", one of them said as they blocked the passageway.

"Haa? Who exactly is this person that's more important than my husband?", Xue Yan angrily stepped forward and glared at the man, who instinctively took a step back. He was confused as to why his body suddenly retreated, since, in his mind, the woman in front of him was just a normal person, albeit more beautiful than other people. He didn't know that his body instinctively knew that he was in the face of danger.

"Honey! It's okay!", Lang Jie stepped forward to stop his wife.

"I'm sorry. We'll wait for your master to finish.", Lang Jie apologized, but Xue Yan looked angry at the men who were blocking the way.

"Hmph. Consider yourself lucky that my husband is such a nice person.", Xue Yan angrily told the men, who simply ignored her and continued blocking the passageway.

Lang Jie tried to ease up his wife's mood and talked with her. It didn't take much for Xue Yan to take the bait and forget her anger towards the people earlier. Just a few words from Lang Jie were enough to tame the great immortal, who happily sat beside her husband with a large smile on her face.

Moments after, the men in suits moved inside the building and accompanied what looked like an extremely important man.

He was wearing a casual outfit with sunglasses. He had a very serious look on his face and every movement he made reeked of arrogance.

As he led the men in suits towards his accommodation, he spotted someone in the corner of his eye.

He immediately looked at what managed to catch his attention and saw a beautiful woman, happily smiling while talking with what seemed to be her lover. The two of them looked incredibly intimate, but the woman had managed to catch his eye.

'Heh… a beautiful flower paired with an unsightly insect...'

Even the man's thoughts exuded arrogance.

As those thoughts ran to his head, he saw the woman angrily glare at him, as if she managed to hear what he was thinking.

As her glare pierced through the man's heart, the man's face turned red. His heart skipped a beat as he saw the woman's scornful look towards him.

'Ahh… it's been a while since a woman has looked at me with such contempt! I have longed for this feeling!'

  His heart continued ra
cing. He thought of what could happen if he could manage to have a woman like her by his side. He would have her glare at him every day and slap him as hard as he could… and at night… she would tie him up… and…

"Kyaaa!", the man felt extremely embarrassed by his own thoughts. His face was completely red.
