Christopher poured himself some coffee and stared down into the dark liquid broodingly. He had wanted to touch her and apologize for the way he had treated her last night but she had not given him a chance. She had been like a cool icicle in front of him and he was not used to that. But she had been right. He had never treated her like that before and it was all because of the guilt he had been feeling.

He knew it had not been a sexual pull he had felt for Dahlia, he only felt that way about his wife, but for a minute he had thought about a son and he had felt the yearning inside him to have a child of his own and he had allowed the thinking to overpower him for the day. He could never love anyone but Sophia and that had been proven to him over and over again. He had gone on business trips countless times without her and would always be impatient to get back home to her. But seeing the little boy’s untidy room and his things lying around, he realized that he wanted that as well and he suspected that the woman had touched on that.

He swallowed down the liquid and grimaced as the strong taste hit his throat and went around his desk. He picked up the framed family photo and looked at her beautiful smiling face and felt himself tighten with need. He was going to have to get her beneath him as soon as possible.

  Chapter 3

She left the office without telling him and told Amelia she would be gone for the rest of the day. She knew she should not do it but she felt the need to punish him for what he had put her through. He had called her several times and she had told Amelia to tell him she was busy which was true because she would never allow the girl to be caught up in anything to do with their marriage. Usually she would drop everything and go to him but this time she had refrained from doing so.

She had left at three o’clock when he had been in a meeting and had gone over to the bookstore to take a look around discreetly. She remembered how it used to be when she had been coming here to buy books and how the ambiance had always grabbed her. There had been a little café at the side and you could wander out at the veranda like setting with a book and chat with friends as you sip coffee and look at the landscape provided by the store.

Now that was all gone and the café had been closed down. It was Thursday and usually you would see an influx of young people especially at this time of the day but there were hardly any books on the shelves and the girl at the point of sale terminal had a totally bored look on her face and was reading some sort of a magazine. She had not even looked up when Sophia came inside. She was definitely not staying, Sophia thought. She took out her notebook and made little jottings of what she wanted to stay and what needed to get rid of and then with a final look around she headed towards the exit and the girl still had her head buried inside the magazine.

Christopher could not believe it. He had been calling her for the entire morning and she had not taken his calls. He knew he deserved to be punished but this was going beyond what was comfortable now. He decided he was going to confront her as soon as he was out of the meeting and this time he was not going to call, he was going straight to her.

“What do you mean she left?” he was not aware that his voice had gone chilly until he saw that her assistant had stood up abruptly.

“I am sorry Mr. Tang but she said she is gone for the rest of the afternoon,” Amelia said nervously, wishing she was anywhere except in the office with the intimidating man looking down at her.

“And she did not tell you where she went?” he looked as if he wanted to drag the truth out of her.

“I can try calling her,” Amelia told him hopefully reaching for the phone.

“Don’t bother,” he told her briefly and turned and left. Amelia sat down shakily and taking a deep breath she called Sophia.

“Your husband is breathing fire,” Amelia told her as soon as she answered the phone.

“Is he?” she responded laconically. “Thanks for calling.”

Amelia had no idea how she could be so insouciant and figured that when you had a man like that in love with you it makes a world of difference.

“Are you sure you know what you are doing?” her mother looked at her curiously as she turned off her phone. She had left straight from the bookstore she had gone to look at and came to the one her mother operated, noticing the difference. Even though it was almost five o’clock, there were still customers milling around.

“I do,” Sophia said firmly. “Don’t worry about us Mom, we are fine. Now let’s talk business.”

  *****

He reached home before her and spent the time playing with their daughter and reading her several stories. He had waited on her to take a shower with him but she had finally called and told him she was having dinner with her mother so she would be late. He had hung up the phone with a tightening of his hands and had forced himself to smile as he turned back to Christine. She had gone too far.

He was just reading her the last story when he looked up and saw her framed in the doorway looking at them. “Mommy late,” Christine said sleepily.

“I know sweetie,” she said softly coming into the room and sitting on the edge of the bed, kissing her daughter’s soft cheek and ignoring her husband’s stare. “Mommy had some things to take care of.”

She watched as the little girl’s eyes drifted close and stood getting ready to leave the room. He followed her and waited until they had gained the privacy of their bedroom before spinning her around to face him. She had taken off her heels and barely came to his chest. “What the hell is going on?”

“I don’t know what you mean,” she told him coolly, trying to wrench from his grasp but he was not having any of it.

“You don’t get to do that to us Sophia,” Christopher told her with gritted teeth. “You don’t get to ignore me for the entire day. I will not put up with it.”

“Like you punished me last night?” she asked him softly looking up at him, her dark brown eyes sober. “You mean the way I get to lay on our bed looking at your back and wondering if I have lost you to someone else? The way I tortured myself the entire night wondering if you were going to leave me?”

He stood there looking down at her, his expression tortured as her words tore at him. He had done that to her and for what? “I am sorry,” he muttered. “I am so sorry.” He lifted her up into his arms and took her into the bathroom where he began to undress her.

He did not say anything else just slowly took off her clothes. He had changed out of his jacket and had pulled on old sweat pants and a t-shirt. He took those off and they went into the large shower install. He took the sponge and squeezed some liquid onto it and started soaping her up. She stood there before him, her body starting to shiver as he rubbed the sponge over her nipples and lingered there. He towered over her and she had to look up at him as he bathed her lovingly, his hands tender on her body.

He reached between her legs and she sagged against the tiles as he probed and reached into her, slowly scrubbing her. “I love you,” he told her huskily going down on his knees before her. He parted the lips of her vagina and touched her mound slowly, rubbing it between his thumb and forefinger. She was gasping by then and as he bent his head to suck her into his mouth she screamed, her hands digging into his hair. He pulled her into his mouth relentlessly and Sophia thought she was going out of her mind with desire. He released her but only so he could use his tongue inside her, licking her furiously, his finger holding her lips apart so he could have better access to her.

Sophia was crying out his name by then, unaware of the tears running down her wet cheeks as her body combust and shattered as his mouth continued to drive her beyond reason. He stopped before she could get her release and came up looking down at her; the tear drenched eyes and the trembling lips and knew there could never be anyone else for him except her.

He lifted her from the shower and grabbed a towel on his way out and placed her on the beautiful Egyptian cotton sheet and started toweling her dry. Using the towel, he moved over her nipples and down to
her flat stomach that was trembling with passion and then to her pubic area where he dried her out thoroughly, spending time there before he came up on the bed and between her legs, placing his penis inside her quaking body. He gritted his teeth as she closed around him tightly and started moving only when she did.

With a cry of submission she wrapped her legs around his waist and clasped her hands around his neck, pulling his head down to take his lips with hers in a kiss that was so needy that it pulled at his very soul. His heart was beating so hard inside his chest that he thought he was going to die right there and then. He felt himself growing harder inside her and he could not get enough of her. His body craved hers and he felt himself groaning inside her mouth, his hands roaming her body feverishly as if he was reassuring himself that she was really there, underneath him, lighting the fire within his very soul.

He changed positions suddenly and had her on top of him, pushing her knees up and thrust into her forcefully, his eyes holding hers. They were both so overcome with passion that they could not speak, the only sound in the room were the groaning and the sobs emitting from their throats and the desperate sounds of their bodies coming together. He moved his hips up towards her and brought her down on him to meet his thrusts and felt his body tighten spasmodically as he felt the heat rushing through his body. They came together and he sobbed out her name sitting up to hold her against him as she shuddered against him and clung to him. He rained kisses all over her face and then he clasped her face between his hands and took her lips in a deep kiss that almost drowned her in its intensity. He let her go suddenly and bent before her licking and tasting her, his tongue thrusting inside her, not willing to make it stop.

Sophia cried softly as she came inside his mouth, her body spent, her senses numbed and without a word she reached for him as he came up and pulled her inside his arms without a word. There was no need for words because there was nothing they could say to each other to explain what they had just been through.

  *****

He did not fall asleep immediately. He held her in his arms and listened to her breathing, his hands splayed on her back. But he could not sleep. He was too charged and even after they had been spent and he had pushed his fingers inside her just to touch her, she had started moving against him and he had brought her over. He held her gaze as he had taken his fingers, placed them inside his mouth and sucked her liquid from them and then he had taken her lips with his and kissed her hungrily. He had finally allowed her to sleep because he felt as if he did not want to stop screwing her.

She had that effect on him and sometimes it scared him beyond measure. He was weak around her and wanted her every minute of the day even when he was thinking of something else. When he had not heard from her throughout the day he had been a total mess, unable to concentrate on what he was doing and he was not used to that. Tonight he had tried to take back some of that control and that was why he had made love to her like that but it had just proven that he was as far in as she was, maybe even more so. She had him twisted around her and there was no getting out for him. He would fight for her and do whatever it took to keep her by his side. He loved her completely.

  *****

He called her to his office at ten. He had a meeting with accounts department to clear up some discrepancies but he had to see her first. Apart from making love in the early hours of the morning which had almost made them late they had not spoken much, even on the drive to the office building. They had sat apart from each other in the car because even the slightest touch would have set them off.

She closed the door behind her and stood there looking at him around his desk. He was looking at her, his eyes unreadable. “Christopher,” she murmured her throat dry.

He stood up and walked towards her and she started trembling. “No,” she begged him.

“I can’t function without a taste right now.” He had reached her and braced his hands against the solid panel. “I wanted to talk to you about the other night. I can’t love anyone else but you, touch anyone else but you and I felt as if I had cheated on you because she was crying and I held her. I can’t touch anyone else,” he repeated and lifting her chin he took her lips, his mouth rough on hers.

Sophia clung to him, her body shaking as she molded herself to him. They were spinning out of orbit and when he reached in the waistband of her skirt and dug underneath her leggings and panties to touch her she was gone. He dipped his fingers inside her and worked his way up and started thrusting inside her, his mouth capturing her moans as she moved against his fingers. He never stopped until she came all over him, her body shaking against his. He pulled out of her slowly and put his fingers inside his mouth before moving away from her, his erection apparent.

  “What about you?” she whispered.

“It’s my punishment for hurting you,” he told her huskily, looking at her swollen lips and her nipples through the material of her jacket.

She leaned back against the door and breathed in an out trying to get control of her emotions. “I don’t want you doing that.” She told him raggedly.

“For now please,” he told her softly. “I cannot touch you right now because if I do; I am going to take you right there. I will see you later. We have a business dinner for tomorrow night. I wanted to make sure you remember.”

“I do and I need to discuss something I think we should take on later.” She looked at him, her eyes taking in the dark blue shirt he had picked out to wear this morning and the way his hair had fallen onto his forehead. He was her husband and she was not going to let anybody forget that.

“Don’t forget to eat lunch,” she told him and turned around and left before she jumped into his arms.

  *****

Dahlia sipped her wine contemplatively and thought about Christopher. She had seen the longing on his face before he quickly schooled his expression when they had stood just outside her son’s room looking in at the mess. She had cried in his arms and some of them had actually been real tears, but she had wanted to feel his arms around her body. She had read up on him and stared at the picture of his wife and daughter.

The woman was incredibly beautiful and they looked like the perfect family but she knew better than that. No one family was perfect. She of all people should know. Her husband had pretended that he was devoted to her and their son until she had discovered that he had been secretly screwing an eighteen year old girl he had met on his trips into town where he had gone to purchase supplies for their bed and breakfast. She had snuck into his phone and read the racy texts and seen the photos she had sent him. When she had confronted him about it he had broken down and cried and said he would not see her again but he had continued to do so.

She had gotten her revenge and screwed the gardener’s son who was barely seventeen and made sure he came home and saw them together. She had seen his face inside the doorway as she had her long legs wrapped around the boy’s waist and smiled in satisfaction as the boy sobbed against her body as he thrust inside her desperately. He had left and came back home that night, very drunk and had slept in their son’s room. She had no idea if he had stopped screwing the teenager but she had continued her affair with the gardener’s son until just before her husband’s accident. There was no such thing as a perfect family and she intend to prove it.

The hotel was teeming with people when they got there and Christopher handed his keys to the valet and took her arm to escort her inside. She had worn a burgundy dress that reached her ankles and with a slit up her left thigh that went to mid thigh, showing an enticing amount of skin each time she moved. The dress did not show one ounce of cleavage but came up and covered her neck and molded to her slim yet curvaceous body to perfection. She had rubies sparkling in her lobes and on her wrists and her hair was done in tiny curls and caught up behind her neck. She looked exquisite.

Christopher smiled in satisfaction as he realized that every male eye was on her. She had that effect on men. He introduced her to several assoc
iates of his and some of them she had already met during the course of being married to him for the two years. He held her hand as he made the rounds around the room and made sure she was seated right next to him when dinner was being served.

She felt a slight touch on her bare arm and looked around to see an attractive brunette beside her. She recognized the woman vaguely as being some rich socialite who did charity work for the city. “I just want to say how lovely you look,” the woman told her. She saw the confusion on the girl’s face and laughed. “My name is Carmona Pryce and we met earlier this evening when your husband introduced us. My husband is Raymond and he is seated over there,” she pointed to a balding man at the other end of the table who was in avid discussion with several others at the table. He owned several pharmaceutical companies around the country and she knew that he and Christopher did business together sometimes.

“I am sorry,” she held out her hand and took the woman’s. “I need to pay more attention to names.”

“I don’t,” Carmona said with a wicked grin. “Only the ones I am hitting up for money.”

“That’s being honest,” Sophia said with a grin liking her instantly. “So what charity is this now?”

“Several as a matter of fact.” She said soberly. “We are trying to get proper care for the elderly and to let their relatives see that their being there for them is very important. We are actually trying to spruce up the residential homes and make it more like homes for these people who are forced through circumstances to leave the comfort of homes they had lived in for the better part of their lives. I have my mother still living with us in a self contained apartment and we have a live in helper there with her each day. She is halfway into dementia but at least she gets to see me every day.”
