Scott walked closer to him and put his hand to the younger man’s shoulder. “Let’s focus on surviving the day, and then we can go kick him in those useless pretty boy balls.”

  “Yeah…” said Otakun despondently. “I guess…”

Scott squeezed his shoulder then nodded. Otakun nodded back at him then made an attempt to man up for the time being. It was hard to concentrate, but he would do his best.

“So, what’s the plan?” asked Saiko. “You do have one?”

Scott looked to her then cracked his knuckles. “First I am going to make a new quick save. Then we need to gather information, maybe make a few Molotovs if possible.”

“What sort of information?” asked Saiko. “Won’t the problems start when the helicopters show up?”

“That’s the end result of stuff happening right now,” said Scott. “Those Gigantor didn’t magically appear. They’re already nearby.”

“Wouldn’t they be attacking if that was the case?” asked Momoko. “They aren’t exactly something the police are equipped to deal with right now.”

“Not if they are people who haven’t turned, yet.” Scott looked her in the eyes and said, “One of them burst out of the school and another came from behind it. I have no idea how many are in the area, but it’s likely someone is going to turn. Maybe even two people.”

“You really think that’s the case?” asked Momoko.

“No one here seems to be infected, though,” said Summer. “There are a few injured people, but they have been here a while with no signs of turning.”

Scott rubbed his chin then made a quick save. He did not want to have to go through all of this lovely set-up again. “Maybe they haven’t shown up yet?”

“You don’t know?” asked Momoko. “That’s surprising.”

Someone whom Scott had not spoken to before decided to speak up. “I see that you believe all of this future knowledge game stuff, but don’t you think it’s time to stop?”

  “Hmm?” asked Scott.

Tosh leveled a smirk toward Scott. “Seems my mom doesn’t believe your story…”

“With any due respect, I don’t have time to care,” said Scott. He looked to Tosh’s mom, Mrs. Camaro, basically an older version of him with boobs. “No offence intended.”

“Now, you see here!” snapped the still unnamed mother of Lord Slap-a-Ho. “Your nonsense has gone far enough.”

Scott waved her off, and Tosh immediately sprang forward. He was about to give him shit for being so dismissive of his mother, but the school intercom suddenly blared out an update. “We have received word that the rescue operation is underway. Helicopters are inbound and will arrive in approximately one hour.”

“Oh! Thank god,” said Mrs. Camaro.

Scott glanced at her, then shrugged. “Anyway, I only know about the two helicopters that I saw. There may be others. If there is a third one, we may want to try to get everyone onto the first one since it seemed to have gotten away.”

“What about the second one?” asked Otakun. “In the version you know, we stayed behind in the hopes of you popping up. If we get on an earlier flight out of here, won’t that solve the problem?”

“Worth a try,” said Scott. “Though, whoever’s on that last helicopter won’t make it.”

“Would you just stop talking?” asked Mrs. Camaro. “Your little game that you’re playing is probably fun for you, but it’s creepy.”

Scott continued to ignore her and discussed the situation further with the group. He updated his quick save after a plan was laid. He would wander aimlessly around the school since he was a new arrival and would not know the layout. This would act as a decent excuse to be in places that law enforcement wanted to remain free of people.

Plan made, he left the room and started his search. Mrs. Camaro immediately rounded on the others. “Why do you humor him? He’s clearly lost his mind?”

“He hasn’t. We’ve seen plenty of evidence that he’s exactly what he claims to be,” said Momoko. “Even if he does sound crazy.”

She looked around at the serious faces of the younger people in the room and slowly shook her head. Mrs. Camaro said, “All of you…”

Unable to take it anymore, she threw her hands up and left the room. Someone had to be told about the nutcase running around. If nothing else, that outfit should have been a dead giveaway that he was completely out of his mind!

Tosh’s mom caught up with Scott and tried to give him a piece of her mind, but he continued to ignore her. Her vocal ranting grew louder, and louder still, until he finally rounded on her in exasperation. “Seriously, woman? Do you have nothing better to do than pester me?”

She glared at him and threw her arms out sideways, also exasperated. “Don’t you take that tone with me! I have half a mind to turn you in to the police for causing trouble.”

Scott looked her up and down. Her chest rose and fell, and her cheeks were bright red from her apparently burning anger.

  Courtney Camaro

Status: Married (Desperate for Male Attention)

  Affection Rating: Aroused – [+3]

  Level: 79

  Cost: 26333

Scott saw her information as it appeared, and he tried to stifle his laughter. Tosh’s reasonably hot mom was hard up for male attention! Perhaps her husband wasn’t giving her enough affection? Either way, as she continued to berate him her affection rating increased by another point!

The thing that really got his attention, though, was her given name. Tosh had given him shit for not being Japanese, but his horny ass mother was running around with a basic white girl name like Courtney.

In the anime series, as far as he knew, her first name had never been revealed. In fact, he was certain that she had not been revealed on screen even in the manga. The likely outcome was that she had died early on, just so Tosh could have something to cry about for drama points. He could not recall if she had been mentioned as being alive at the end of the manga, either.

“Are you listening to me, young man?” asked Courtney in a huff

Scott looked at her for a moment. She was decently attractive despite acting like an angry middle-aged Karen. She had even pulled the equivalent of wanting to talk to his manager by mentioning the police.

“I have things to do, but feel free to follow along if you like,” said Scott. He did not mind hanging out with an attractive older woman. Sadly, his first instinct was not workable. There was no time to waste, and he honestly did not want to ruin a relationship. She was married. Even as nice as it would be to piss off Tosh by banging the hell out of his reasonably hot mom, he did not want to break up a family. Besides, there were far more important things to do than clean out the cobwebs in the sex-basement of a middle-aged schoolteacher in search of dick.

“You!” she cried out in annoyance.

Scott sighed loudly, then reached over and grabbed her hand. This continued altercation was eating into his exploration time. “Come along then Tosh’s mom.”

She started to snatch her hand away, but a sudden pulse of energy washed over her. Courtney’s eyes widened and her mouth fell open. The heat in her cheeks shifted to a different purpose and her eyes glazed over slightly. “What…?”

The first time his harem protagonist aura, or whatever it was called, came into effect was the most potent. As things stood, Tosh’s mom was starved for male attention and thus she was heavily affected by those energy pulses.

  “Come. Come,” said Scott lightly.

“S-sure…” she said in a strangely sweet tone. Her expression was one of confliction, but she followed him like a schoolgirl with a crush all the same.

They wandered the halls hand-in-hand, getting a few stares from curious onlookers now and then, but for the most part there was no further conflict. The longer Scott held her hand, the more aroused Tosh’s mom became.

After a short time, she began to pant and begged him to stop. Scott reluctantly allowed it, then smiled at her. “Don’t you think you should
go rest up and spend time with your son?”

  “I… suppose,” she admittedly reluctantly.

Tosh’s mom sighed wistfully as he released her hand. She lowered her eyes and fidgeted a little like a nervous schoolgirl.

Scott, seeing her being so cute, sighed as well then drew her in for a hug. “It was nice to meet you.”

She practically buried herself in his chest and nuzzled against his shoulder. She looked several years younger in that moment, but not long after she gasped gently then her face became flush.

“I… should go,” she said. Though, she made no attempt to extricate herself from his arms.

Scott released her gently, then nodded to her. “See you soon.”

“Really?” she asked, her eyes bright and lips softly parted.

  “Yep,” he said lightly.

He shooed her away as gently as he could, and she turned from him and began to walk down the hall. Hands clutched to her chest, she panted for air. All the while, she never realized that she had escaped from certain doom.

Scott admired the shape of her ass as she walked away. “Not bad…” he murmured to himself. She clearly worked out given the perk in that booty. Not that it mattered in the end. As things stood, he was not that interested in risking his current relationships just to bang Tosh’s mom.

He noticed that she stopped outside of the women’s restroom then watched as she brushed her hair over her ear and then lightly fidgeted. She went inside quickly, and whatever happened then was not something that concerned him further. Though, for a brief moment he could have sworn that she had turned slightly green before she rushed inside.

Crises averted, or whatever, he immediately set out at a quick trot. Time had been wasted, but he had all of it that he could possibly need given his quick save ability.

Most of the classrooms were locked and empty. One housed a family group that wished to stay together, but even after he spent a moment introducing himself to various people among that group, he saw that a few people were nauseas but they quickly claimed that they had been checked for bites and scratches.

As time wore on, he inevitably came to one conclusion. The Gigantor must have been coming from somewhere else. It was possible that in the confusion of battle, the second Gigantor had come from outside and simply busted its way through the school.

Of course, there was another more sobering thought. The system might have spawned the thing to force his hand. While it seemed unlikely, it was entirely possible. If that was the case, then no amount of detective work would solve the issue. At best, he could rig the game ahead of time by acquiring proper supplies.

Eventually, he turned a corner that led toward the front of the building and heard voices talking. One of which was familiar.

“Look. I’m sorry that I did that to you…” said a masculine voice that Scott did not recognize. “The way things are now, though, I know I was wrong.”

  A familiar female voice responded, “I don’t know… Otakun and I…”

“That— Guy… He’s just a civilian. I can protect you!” exclaimed the man.

Scott rolled his eyes. “Great. More relationship drama. Just what the apocalypse needs right now.”

He turned the corner and saw what was going on. A tall, good looking, man had Salami pressed against the wall.

“Just stop… I’m with Otakun. You shouldn’t be doing this,” said Salami. “It’s assault.”

“So?” he asked her smugly. “Is little Salami going to arrest me?”

The guy grabbed her breast and squeezed. “Not much to get excited about, but I’ve missed them.”

“Let me go!” she cried out tearfully. Salami struggled against the much larger man but could not manage to break free.

Scott ran toward the duo swiftly. The man was so engrossed in what he was doing that he barely had time to register the ham-fist that bashed the side of his face.

He did not have much in the way of unarmed combat skill, but he could hit like a truck. Officer Nasty, or whatever his name would turn out to be, was sent reeling.

Scott punched him again and again, his wild strength rattling the man’s skull and crushing his nose. Pretty no longer, he fell to the ground in a bloodied heap.

“Salami. Let’s go,” said Scott as he turned toward her, certain that the guy was unconscious.

  “S-Scott!” cried Salami.

However, before they could take off, the man recovered and pulled his gun from its holster. Scott stared down the barrel of that gun for a split-second uncertain that it would go off, but it did. He took a direct hit to the chest that knocked him back a step, and then he fell to his knees.

“The fuck?” asked Scott, shocked. It had hurt a great deal, and he was bleeding profusely, but he was still conscious and had stamina to spare.

He tried to get up and rush the guy, but two more shots rang out. One in the chest, and another shattered his collarbone.

As Scott lay dying, he heard Salami scream and then one more shot ring out. The bullet did not strike him, however.

Scott awoke in the loading area, as usual. He was absolutely livid for a moment, but then the nature of the area calmed his nerves and he could think logically once more. “Guess that means I’m not bullet proof.”

Admittedly, he had largely shrugged off a single shot from that pistol despite the bleeding. Multiple shots, however, were well outside his ability to handle at the moment.

He took a few cleansing breaths and returned to the apocalypse. Scott reappeared in the classroom. Everyone was looking at him expectantly. However, he was at a loss. He did not recall where he had been in the conversation due to recent activities.

  “Are you… alright?” asked Otakun.

“No,” said Scott, his nostrils flaring. “I have to go kill a fucking cop, and you’re going to help me.”

“What?!” asked several people all at once.

Scott quickly related what had just happened from his perspective. The mothers in the room were appalled that he would so casually discuss killing a police officer. Neither of them believed his story.

The others, however, knew that he would often suddenly change directions like this and took it as a sign that something serious had just gone down.

  “I’ll go too,” said Tosh.

  “I’m in,” said Saiko.

“There may be a need for medical attention,” said Summer. She stepped forward, but before she could say anything else Tosh’s mom interrupted her.

“What is wrong with all of you?” she asked hotly. “The man is clearly deranged! Just look at what he’s wearing!”

“We don’t have time for your sass, Courtney,” said Scott. “A friend of ours might be raped soon.”

“Wha—!” she exclaimed heatedly. “Why are you being so familiar with me? You creep.”

“Wait. How do you know my mother’s name? I never told anyone until we got here,” said Tosh.

“This is round two, remember?” asked Scott. “Anyway, this needs to be taken care of now.”

The impending argument was interrupted by the school intercom suddenly blaring out an update. “We have received word that the rescue operation is underway. Helicopters are inbound and will arrive in approximately one hour.”

“See! Even if your little story was true, he wouldn’t try anything with less than an hour to go!” exclaimed Courtney.

Scott shook his head at her. “We have to go stop that from happening.”

  “You’re insane!” snapped Courtney.

“It’s a living,” countered Scott hotly. He then looked to everyone else. “I’ll go alone if I need to, but I figure everyone should be on board for this…”

An argument broke out between Scott and Tosh’s mom once more. Momi Mitsubishi, Jade’s mother decided to intervene. “Look. Arguing is not going to help anyone.”

“Are you seriously buying this nonsense?” asked Courtney. “I thought you used to be a police officer, yourself.”

  “If Salami is going t
o be attacked, we need to help her now. Even if it turns out to be a hoax, it’s better to be safe than sorry,” said Momi.

“I don’t believe this is happening,” said Courtney. “Even you are falling for this load of nonsense.”

“We don’t have to kill the guy but showing up at the armory will probably force him to keep his hands to himself,” said Summer. “It’s how we stopped that guy back at the mall…”

“That’s right,” said Otakun. “We kept to ourselves and didn’t walk around alone.”

“Hey. That’s not a bad idea,” said Momoko. “We could all go visit Salami since the intercom just announced the evacuation. If the guy acts funny. We can do something about it.”

“Oh fine. Whatever,” groused Courtney. “We have an hour to kill anyway.”

All arguments to the side, everyone went to go check on Salami. However, along the way word got out that a large group of survivors were on the move. A few police officers swiftly appeared to block the way.

“Dad?” asked Jade. “What’s going on.”

One of the leaders of the base, Justin Mitsubishi, stepped forward. He had a similar overall look to Tosh mixed with a dash of Jade. A tall man with black hair and light brown eyes. There was an aura of strength about him.

“I could ask you the same thing. What’s this all about?” asked Justin. “Your big group moving quickly through the halls alarmed the others.”

“We’re going to go see a friend of ours,” said Jade. “Officer Salami.”

“Officer Salami is assigned to guard the armory at this time. She will be relieved fifteen minutes before the arrival of the evacuation team,” replied Justin.

“Dad. We need to go see her,” insisted Jade.

“Look. I get that you want to go visit your friend, but she has important work to do—” began Justin only for his words to be interrupt by the sound of a woman screaming.

“No!” screamed the woman just before a gunshot echoed through the corridors.

“What?” asked one of the officers. “That came from inside the school!”
