"Sure did," Father Galvéz said with a satisfied sigh. "If it weren't for him and the King of Heaven we would be in serious trouble right now."
"All the Shadow Walkers fell into the earth," Amy clarified.
Harrison's eyes widened. "They did… all of them, including Stana Growklowsky?"
"All of them." Father Galvéz' words were sober. "The earth opened just like it did in Moses' day with the Golden Calf. Still, it is no reason to rejoice. The King of Heaven said, "I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked." **
Harrison shook his head and mumbled, "Stana was quite a lady, wasn't she?" Then he looked up and said, "But thank God for angels like Quarabag. He is quite the angel."
Justin frowned. "Why is that, Uncle?"
When Harrison saw the question mark on Justin's face, he grinned and said, "Later I'll tell you all about it, Justin… But I believe we first need to get out of here as soon as possible. As you said, it doesn't look very safe here."

Epilogue
"Great sermon, Pastor." Captain Devonshire shook the pastor's hand, while leaning on his walking cane after the Sunday service. "I must say, I was rather doubtful at first, when I heard you wanted to become a pastor, but you have put me to shame. Things have changed so much for the better in Dewsbury since you are leading our church here."
Pastor Harrison Ames gave him a weak smile. "I was never really fit to be a detective, Captain. It took that strange episode with those Shadow Walkers to open my eyes to where my real calling lay."
"I guess we have something to thank those Shadow Walkers for then. They were a crazy bunch."
Pastor Harrison Ames chuckled. “I suppose you are right, Captain. In a way they are also responsible for giving me my faithful assistant pastor. I would have never met Prophet if it had not been for those shady characters.”
Captain Devonshire nodded. “I heard he is totally healed? That is quite something too.”
“He’s a precious soul, Captain. Father Perpetiël prayed over him and he’s been a great help to the ministry ever since.”
The Captain thought for a moment and then asked, "By the way, how is family life?"
Pastor Ames looked up and motioned to two young children to stop running around and come over. "Jake? Camilla? Come over and shake hands with my old friend Captain Devonshire."
Captain Devonshire's eyes lit up as he beheld Harrison's two kids. "My, you two are growing so fast." He shook Jake's chubby hand. "Have you joined the Dewsbury Tiger Club yet?"
"Yes, Sir," Jake said with a grand smile. "They say I might make the team next season."
"Well, that's grand," Captain Devonshire said. "And you, Camilla, are as lovely as a flower in spring. Seeing happy young kids like you makes the heart of an old man happy."
"Can we go play again, Daddy?" Camilla said in a high-pitched girly voice.
"Go ahead, kids," Pastor Ames said and nodded. "I'll have some more words with Captain Devonshire."
Both kids ran off. An amused smile played on the lips of Captain Devonshire. "You've got a lovely family, Harrison." Then he grinned and shook his finger in Pastor Ames' face. "But I am still a little mad that, at the time when I was still working, you stole my good secretary Poppy Alberts away. I know the Good Lord says we need to forgive men their trespasses, but marrying Poppy was a blow to my office. I never found a good replacement."
Harrison chuckled. "Sorry, Captain… Don't they say, all is fair in love and war?"
"That's right, Pastor," Devonshire replied with a twinkle in his eye. "Don't worry, I forgave you the moment I found out you two were in love. And you are right, you are a much better pastor than you were a detective. Your nephew Justin… he's a true detective. Have you heard from him recently?"
Pastor Ames nodded. "Just got a letter from him. He and Amy are in South Africa."
"What in the world are they doing there?"
Pastor Ames shook his head. "Don't know exactly… but they are on a mission. Some major company hired them to solve another mystery. Did you know they started their own detective agency?"
"No, I did not," the Captain answered.
"They did. It's called, 'Elixir Crime Busters' "Pastor Harrison Ames licked his lips. "They are getting more work than they can handle. I always knew he would become a real detective…"
