“B33, can you fetch everyone for dinner, please?” Her butler robot had happily settled by her side while Alel made dinner, a request she had made Javon had seemed amused by. Alel had discovered she liked cooking and the kitchen in Javon’s home was large with lots of counter space.
She watched them come in, smiling. They were at ease with Javon already, happily surrounding him, chattering and giggling. They were home, Alel thought.
She studied Javon’s face. Happiness shone in his eyes as he gave the children his attention. She could tell he was relaxed, at least until he looked up and saw her watching him.
His blue eyes sharpened and Alel felt the charge in the air between them. She had married this man. She had no idea what was coming next, but she did know there was still so much more to discover, and this time, she would not be alone. Javon would be at her side.
He had admitted to secrets. Someday, he would tell her what they were.
The White Streets were changing. Their revolution had begun. The danger there was not yet over.
None of the pieces that had yet to come together mattered. Not right now. Because she could feel it... the deepest part of her heart rising up to claim something of its own; love.

I wrote this one for me. For fun.
About the Author
Sara Shanning doesn’t much care for convention. They say don’t tip your toes into waters you are unfamiliar with, but where is the fun in that?
She continues working on a christian fiction apocalyptic series (The Chosen Angel Series), has written one fantasy romance (Angel Song), and now has taken on Steampunk.
Sara believes as a reader herself, most readers don’t stay in one genre. She hopes her writing is engaging enough her readers will follow wherever her imagination may lead…
Feel free to weigh in on her Facebook or Instagram pages. You never know what may be written next. While the next in her Angel series is under way, a book about dragons has been whispered about… and a possible Part II of Mechanical Angel.
