Ena took her seat. “Ok, so this is how this is going to work.” She pointed at the two vamps, “you both need to find positions in the salon that do not get in the way of my girls or do anything to freak them out ok?” They both nodded. Ena smiled. “Ok then, lets go.” She got up from her seat and headed out in to the corridor, pointing out bathrooms and kitchen and pushed open the salon door. She indicated the firing ranges and how things worked. She was interrupted by the buzz at the back door. Ena went over to the computer on the desk and checked the camera’s. Her girls were outside the rear door grilled entrance. She indicated that the vamp’s should take a look. “These are my girls. They and security are the only ones who get to come in this way. You buzz them into the grilled area and lock the outside door. Only when its locked do you open the inner door. They will pass under a metal detector, if it goes off the inner door does not open. It’s the same as for the shop door for customers.” She buzzed them in.
Ena moved towards her girls as they came in to the salon having put their stuff in their lockers. “Hi girls, we have new security.” She turned to the two vamps. “Names?” “Jeff.” The dark haired one told her. “Blue.” Said the Blond. Ena turned back to the girls. “Business as usual. The men are here for added protection while I’m here. They are not to interfere with the running of this business. Show Jace the paces. We good?” The girls nodded and smiled with a chorus of yes’s. She walked back to her offices. Blane followed her. “Want to share my desk? I’m sure we both have stuff to do.” Blane grinned at her. “Thought you’d never ask,” he told her pulling up a chair. Ena watched him pull out a tablet and start doing something. Reaching down she unlocked her desk drawer and pulled out her own lap top and fired it up. For the first three customers, Ena watched the vid feed. The vamps stayed out the way and the girls continued as she expected. Jace seemed to fit right in. It was a good start.
Ena sat towards the back of the room observing the people milling about. It was clear this was going to be a big meeting. She recognised several of the people in the room. Jenson approached her with her drink. “Thank you Jenson.” She told him taking it from him as he walked on passed her to give out drinks to some of the others present. She took a sip of her Jack and savoured the taste rolling it over her tongue. Ena loved the flavours bursting to life. It reminded her of her father. He loved this drink and she had taken to it as well. Ena was again taken aback by the opulence of the room. From the carved handmade high gloss expanding dining table that was fit for a banquet, to the oriental antiques, Venetian crystal and filigree gold work. It was a beautiful room and wouldn’t be out of place in any of the ancestral homes of Europe. Blane came back into the room followed by Arturo and his First John. They joined the rest of the people present and Arturo took a seat at the table. Everyone in the room joined him.
“Anyone who thought that we had finished our business with the old guard of the European Council was wrong. The main players may have been taken care of here but it’s clear we have others pushing forward the original agenda. John.” Ena watched as John leaned forward and addressed the table. “Blane and Ena had a visit last night. One new vamp, one medium power. They had been tracking Blane and observing the club since it re-opened. It also seems they were responsible or part of the group that burnt it down. They seemed upset,” John looked around the room, “that it was up and running quickly again. It didn’t disrupt things as much as they’d hoped. We took both prisoner and had a chat. The newbie didn’t know much. The medium power knew more. It seems we have another strategy in play. It’s hit and run taking out the periphery, have us chasing our tails leaving us vulnerable in other areas. We can expect that Blane is not the only one under surveillance and there will be more coming.”
Arturo picked up the conversation, “we have a number of businesses, some more public than others. I’m not worried about anything electronic Luce has that covered, I’m more concerned with the direct stuff. The humans getting caught up in our business. We have over 30 business’s in this area alone, without the outer fringe business’s and those in country. We currently have 189 visiting vamps who have asked permission to visit this territory. Given what we now know. It’s likely we have a number who haven’t asked and some of those that have maybe up to no good. Blane has raised concerns about the numbers at the club. We will be thinning that out and looking at other options including starting a club for in house only. However, starting tonight we are systematically targeting every vamp on your invite list and anyone else we find. They will be asked politely to co-operate. If they don’t, well that’s not much of a problem seeing at their dead already. Anyone found to be here without an invitation, I will want to see personally.” He told the table grinning. “This was well orchestrated. Whoever is leading on this has used the main challenge to wipe out their opposition and take advantage of any gap for their own agenda. They are clearly not strong enough to take on Clavius in his absence but they probably think they can do so here. That means long time planning and a web of soldiers doing the grunt work both in Europe and here. I’ve contacted Clavius to see who else might be missing from the Council. If they’re not stupid they won’t have left. If they have, that makes it easier for us. I want all our premises given extra security. Pierre ask Brandon if he would plug gabs, let him know what’s going on and to check his borders. This will involve his people. Everyone gets a visit tonight. Luce will be tracking everyone. I want updates by 5am.” Arturo had clearly finished. John pulled over a map. “Right, here are your areas.”
Once John was finished, most of the people present left. Several saying hi to her before going out. Ena wondered how this all worked. People had jobs that they suddenly stopped doing when something like this kicked off? What happened to their normal jobs? It didn’t seem practical. Blane came towards her. “You need the equivalent of MPs.” She told him. The few people left in the room went quiet. “We are all soldiers.” Arturo told her. Ena looked around Blane who moved out of her way. “I get that and that might have worked up to now. But, you are now under attack, it’s not practical to take people from job’s that are essential to the running of this organisation particularly as you do not know how sustained this is likely to be. As a one off, sure you can do that. Long term. Not possible. You need a designated response team, an elite group, who’s only job, is protection and to police however that may look. You could also take on private jobs when quiet. It pays very well.” She told him with a smile. Arturo looked at her. She could see the wheels turning. Pete asked her what she was thinking. “Eight teams. Four vamp, four human. Leader, sub, four others. Specialist training. Hand to hand, weapons, tactical. Search and rescue.” She told him. Pete turned to Arturo. “Been thinking the same for a while.” They were all looking at Arturo. “Agreed. Athena you will head it up. Pete support and training. Pierre vamp tactics. Make it known we are taking requests. Only the best get in.”
Ena frowned and watched Arturo leave with Regin, turning to face Blane. “I have a job.” Blane looked at her and smiled. “You like a challenge, like the excitement, well now you got one building Arturo’s response team.” Pete came over, “you ready for this?” Ena smiled. “More than ready sergeant.” Pete smiled back at her. “Major, I look forward to working with you.” Ena laughed, “tell me that when you are getting your ass handed to you. We should do the training and testing away from here. Any ideas?” “What about where your shop is? There are a number of warehouses not in use and they are above that underground tunnel system we could patch into for the vamps coming and going.” Ena nodded. “There’s also a couple of shops next to mine that would do as well. Ok we’ll need someone who can pull up the regs on those.” “That’s me, we haven’t met yet, I’m Bits, I’m with Pierre.” Ena looked at the young woman coming towards her. “Arturo said you might need my help. I work on the electronic stuff we need.” Ena took her outstretched hand and shook it. “Did you get all that?” Bits nodded. “I just need the addresses and I can work magic.” Ena smiled. Sh
e liked this young woman. “Great you’re on the team. Your Team Elite liaison. Get those shops, set up an office, get the plans of the underground tunnel systems. Make sure we own the ground and can make changes.”
Ena had gone through her contacts the following day. She had a number that were in the forces with her that were now in the private sector. She needed good men and women. Trainers. She also had a list of contractors. Pulling up her secure servers she’d sent emails to the covert network. If they were interested she’d hear back. Bits had come through for them. They were now the owners of the other empty shops on this block and a warehouse three blocks away. Both areas connected by underground tunnels that were being sealed and made safe and habitable. Underground tunnelling was taking place to expand the area where she parked her car. It would hold up to 10 vehicles when completed and should the other couple of business want to move on, they would take those as well. Ena had personally gone to talk to the owners to explain that they were expanding, apologised for the noise and that they were moving into security. It had been well received. Both the day café and the restaurant hoped it brought in more business for them too. Ena had told them that as long as they continued to have excellent hygiene reports and the food remained as good as it was, she would support that by sending her people to them for food and drink. It appeared to be a win win all round. The emails had started to come in.
“I need to know salary Arturo, I can’t ask people to work with us without telling them the money or the duration.” Ena held the phone while munching on a rare beef on white with mustard and mayo. She swallowed another bite. She loved this sandwich. “Whatever the normal rate is double it.” He told her. “Add in dental and holiday and sick pay. Permanent positions, unless they want six months with some freedom. We can be flexible on whatever you think will work.” Ena grinned. “I can work with that. I’ll let Pete know.” Ena put the phone down and wondered if she was getting paid for this. She took out the weapons she’d been working on. Ena had decided if she was in charge of this, then every member of the Elite would have a vamp killer and she would talk to Regin about her potions and powders. She’d put orders in with her usual suppliers for more parts and materials and had set up a larger moulding. She wanted to caste each piece herself so there were no mistakes. She’d have the girls work the grinders to help on the some of the pieces. She wanted 60 weapons ready by the time the teams would be ready to deploy. She would have to concentrate on this once the training team was established. Ena smiled. She was excited. It wasn’t often you got a blank cheque to get something done.
“You look ridiculously happy.” Ena turned in her chair to see Blane in her doorway. “Hay, I thought you might sleep a bit longer today?” Blane pushed off the doorframe and came towards her. “I might have but you got out of bed and it felt weird without you.” He bent down and kissed her. “Besides, between the night work and the day work,” he indicated her work table, “you’re not getting much sleep either.” “I’m sure that will change with junior here.” Ena patted her stomach. Blane reached out and touched it. “Can you feel it yet?” Ena nodded. “Sometimes but it’s like a butterfly nothing definitive yet but I’m getting bigger. I’ll need some loose trousers soon.” She grimaced. Blane laughed. “It’s not funny.” She told him. “You’ll look beautiful in anything.” He leaned down and nuzzled her neck. “Better yet, naked.” He nipped her. Heat flooded her body. “I’m too busy for sex.” She mumbled. “Really?” Blane started kissing her neck nipping down her neck to her shoulder. Suddenly his hands came to her breasts and squeezed. “You sure you don’t have time?” He whispered, nudging her legs apart.
Blane stood back up and opened his fly. His cock sprang out and he stroked himself. “You need to work out some of that tension.” He saw her resolve start to waver. “It needs a suck Ena.” He told her pulling it towards her mouth. He could smell her sex. She started to lean forward. Her tongue slipped out from between her lips and licked the end. She pulled back slightly then opened her mouth and sucked him in. Using her hands, she squeezed his balls. Blane started to rock into her mouth. “I’m going to rip those pants off you and have your hot wet fanny surrounding my cock while I fuck you.” He drew out. “But first your going to suck me dry.”
CHAPTER SIX
The baby kicked her again. Ena rubbed her tummy. She couldn’t believe how quickly the last six weeks had flown by. She was getting huge. The training programme was in full swing. The vamp killers all completed last night. They would be testing them today. Ena smiled and looked out the window of the car. She no longer drove herself anywhere. Blane and Arturo refused to let her. Over protective males. She still carried her own weapons and smiled at that. She might be the size of a six month pregnant woman but she could still kick arse. Ena nibbled her lip. Whatever Regin wanted to talk about had to do with the accelerated pregnancy. Serenity had had her children early at six and a half months. Both born full grown to the expected birth development of a human child. She was just over eight weeks pregnant and huge. Regin wasn’t sure why which is why she had to go in and having a scan on a new machine Regin and purchased just for this very reason. They guessed Ena should have four months to go. That didn’t explain why she was so much bigger and her appetite was still through the roof. She was taking her supplements and drinking from Blane nightly. Ena smiled. That male was a god. Just thinking about him made her clit pulse with need. Serenity had not been as big at this time in her pregnancy but she had also pointed out that it was different centuries. People lived longer now, better technology, health, welfare, food. That could be a contributing factor. In a nut shell, they didn’t know.
The car pulled up at House Arturo. Security was tight. The car made it’s way up the drive. They’d been in a state of war since the first battle several months ago but that had exploded with the uninvited to her house. The new Elite would be going into action in a couple of days. It had been tough training. Her people had not let her down and Pete’s had been a big help on that. They’d brought all their combined knowledge together to bring a whole new level to the group. The vamps were good fighters and depended on strength and speed but lacked tactical knowledge and other fighting skills. They had those now. They would have the latest IT support provided by Luce and her guns. When they started rolling out, it would prevent other personnel from having to leave their day to day work. They all agreed it was a positive move forward.
Ena was helped out the car. Jenson was waiting on her as always. “Good morning My Lady Athena, Lady Regin is waiting on you. This way.” Jenson turned back towards the house and Ena followed him. Walking through into the open hallway filled with portraits and crystal, Jenson took her to the reception room. Regin rose as she came in and walked over to her to hug her. “How are you feeling?” Ena squeezed her back. “I’m feeling good. No more sickness. Eating like a horse.” Regin leaned back and looked at her. “Still taking the supplements and Blanes blood?” “Yes all good.” Regin nodded. “Ok so we are going to do an ultrasound today see what’s going on in there ok?” Ena smiled. “Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing this.” “Good, let’s go to the lab.” Regin linked arms with her and they walked to the room Regin used as her lab.
Regin gave her a scrub top to put on and took some blood. Putting that on for testing while she waited for Ena to emerge from the bathroom. Regin led her over to the bed and got her comfortable exposing the tummy area. Ena breathed out to calm herself. Regin fired up the machine and placed a layer of jelly on her abdomen. Moving the image maker over her tummy. Pressing lightly into her, they both looked at the screen. They both watched the changing image. Ena wasn’t sure what she was seeing. There were some double images, it was grainy. Regin moved the hand-held wand to another position. “Is that three legs?” Ena craned her neck to see better. “That doesn’t look right Regin?” Fear started to radiate from her. “Is my baby deformed?” She asked desperately. Regin moved the wand again. Ena noticed a smaller image behind the bigger one. Both were moving indepen
dently.
Regin stilled. “You have twins Ena. Look, they have arms and legs and both are moving. You have twins. I have never heard of it.” Regin said in amazement. She took pictures and gave them to Ena. “We’re going to need a specialist for this. I’ll ask around ok. My god, twins.” Regin cleaned her up and leaned over her to hug her. Tears in her eyes. “Do they look ok?” Ena asked her worried. “As far as I can see they both look good but we’ll get you checked out by a professional ok. Wow.” Regin sat back on her chair. “We need to celebrate. This is amazing.” “What about the vamp thing?” Regin patted her hand. “We’ll tell her your five months along, no blood just a scan ok.” Ena nodded. “And the birth?” “Serenity is medically trained and has assisted in hundreds of births both vampire and human. She will be here. Slightest problem and we bring in a professional I will look for ok.” Ena breathed a relieved sigh. She could do this.
Lunch was lovely. Plenty of roast beef and salad. Regin had excused herself to check the blood test results. Ena was starting to come to terms with being a mother to two children. Two. It was a shock. Regin came back in holding the test results. “Well. Your tests came back. Your blood is in perfect harmony. As it was before. It should show signs of further pregnancy and be adjusting but it doesn’t. It remains high in electrolytes and proteins, again, in humans that would be a concern but not in your case. Your system seems very healthy. Organs working well.” Ena had been thinking about that. “Was Serenity’s blood high in electrolytes?” Regin nodded. “Yes it is. Not as much as you but it is higher.” “Do you think that the unusual balance in my system is the reason I conceived so easily?” Regin shrugged. “I don’t know but it’s beginning to look like it has something to do with it. When you consider that female vamps bodies are technically dead but can still produce viable eggs but with a very limited life span and male vamps are in the same boat but can produce viable sperm that again has a very limited life span, it is a miracle one would reach the other and when they do, they might not have enough spark left between them to make it work.” Regan shook her head. “I’m guessing here. I can pull out the elements and create a line to test. It’s a good start. We’ll test every four weeks. Compare the data. If it remains positive I might be able to synthesise it and create an inoculation of some kind to give females a chance of pregnancy. I will also need to test the amniotic fluid to cross reference at birth and see what that gives us.”
